861  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: [BitcoinMax.com] Paying 6.9% per week... Small accounts welcome. on: August 14, 2012, 06:15:54 AM
Is the website having trouble processing deposits?  I made a deposit awhile ago and it's got 5 confirmations and shows up on blockchain.info, but I don't see it on the website, yet, despite logging out and back in and clicking on "Check for new (confirmed) deposits."

out of all the deposits so far, this happened with one tx in the past... it turned out to be an anomaly in blockchain.info's api results, which was fixed.

i'll investigate yours shortly...
862  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: [BitcoinMax.com] Paying 6.9% per week... Small accounts welcome. on: August 14, 2012, 02:53:34 AM
Was your's re-invested or sent?  I think mine wasn't credited to my balance it doesn't look like, but I see how much for next week already...

Both.   His script is running so it'll get to you shortly I imagine.

it's ORDERed BY user_id in ASCending order, so the older accounts get processed first.
863  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: [BitcoinMax.com] Paying 6.9% per week... Small accounts welcome. on: August 14, 2012, 12:43:01 AM

Two thoughts/questions:

1. Referral bonus needed! I've sent no less than 5 people your way in the last month/two.
2. Email address needed for people who don't want to forum register? PM is fine...

well, thanks very much! i'm not sure about a referral system though... we might get overrun with spam issues from people trying to get lenders, and consequently the whole site might get taken less seriously as just an MLM thing.

you can email me at admin~payb.tc but with an @ symbol Cheesy

i guess not every lender can keep up with this whole thread, but anyway i'll repeat myself a bit:

the withdrawal page consists of:

Your Requests

these are your personal withdrawal requests that you have made from your account.

Current Withdrawal Queue

this is the queue showing ALL users' withdrawal requests (with username hidden). don't panic if you see withdrawal requests here that you didn't ask for... it's a list of everyone's!

...i guess i'll add some text like that on the actual site in the next update Cheesy
865  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory - Discussion Thread on: August 13, 2012, 01:24:03 PM
i was getting this error in an older version (can't remember which one), so I decided to upgrade to the latest, but still get the same error on startup:
...
edit 2: before trying the win32 version, i just deleted a few things out of the appdata folder such as mempool.bin and settings file, and it worked.

I don't suppose you have the settings file in your recycle bin or something, do you?  I just looked at how that error is triggered, and it's by the "LastFilterState" variable in the settings file being a string (supposed to be an integer).  I can see why deleting that file fixed it, but I'm curious what it got set to that caused the problem.  I can't see in the code how it could get set to non-integer value.

no i don't i'm sorry. if it ever happens again, i'll be sure to keep a copy for you.

so, i can't get any further than the splash logo, then it dies.

edit: okay so i'm going to try the win32 version.

by the way if anyone asks, i deleted all my posts out of the retard thread.

don't want that one popping up in my "show new replies" list any more.

it's a bit rough on the emotions, having people post outright lies about you and then have their sheep believe it as factual,

so i'm gonna try not to spend 12 hours a day on the forum any more.

...will check in once a day to support bitcoin max.

payb.tc: Does someone else have access to make withdrawals if you are unable to do so? Say in the unlikely case that you are in an accident and go to a coma for a month.

as of today, yes, including access to this forum account.

quoting this old post as it's an issue that has been brought up again recently.

By the way, it doesn't make sense for anyone to provide a fully insured passthrough. Because they would take on the full risk of a default and only the partial gains of the investment. So they mind as well just invest the money themselves.

i wrote similar reasoning in my thread, however i did later think of one reason where it might make sense:

where the passthrough operator doesn't personally own many coins, but can back up 'insurance' with other assets.

eg. if they own 100 btc, they could invest that in BST directly and get ALL the interest.

or, if they wanted to take the gamble, they could offer a 'fully-insured' passthrough and get maybe half the interest on 10,000's of BTC. *in this case the operator would be gambling their house and car and other assets because upon default they wouldn't have enough coins to cover it.

That's true. But if that's the case, there's a very good chance the insurer would just default when Pirate defaults.  They are basically borrowing money to gamble with. That's not someone I would deposit money with.

yes, it would be a very risky bet for both the passthrough operator and his lenders. not something i'd do.

is there any way to embiggen that tiny map?

Take a look at the map on http://blockchain.info/unconfirmed-transactions Wink

is there any way to embiggen that tiny map?

Find out which private key the amount is assigned to and export it and import the private key into Mt Gox and then send the amount to your new wallet.

PRESTO!

^^ first read my similar reply above, which was debunked Cheesy

Export ALL the private keys and import them into a new wallet.

wouldn't that defeat the whole purpose of making a 'fresh' wallet? Cheesy

You could use a javascript timer to browse away from the login page to a "session expired" page just before the csrf_token expires.

good idea, thanks... wasn't sure yet what to do about it but that would work.
876  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin clock on: August 08, 2012, 02:49:18 AM
I would have the second hand move every time a block is generated.

me too! luckily, it already does this.

But on another tack - does your clock auto adapt the ETA as we get closer to it or do you have to manually set an actual ETA as we approach?

the ETA is calculated every time the page loads. it's not manual... it uses php with that formula i posted above.

Is the website down?

I get this when I try to log in:

Quote
An Error Was Encountered

The action you have requested is not allowed.

Try a different browser or private mode.

that will work, but only because that will mean you have refreshed the login page Wink

i should put this in the FAQ... it has an exact cause:

when you leave the login page open too long (2 hours) before hitting submit, that's the error you get.

i'm not sure how to make it a nicer, more informative error message yet.

just refresh the login screen and then log in.
880  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How do I spend a small amount of bitcoins? on: August 08, 2012, 01:29:45 AM
you could perhaps export the private key which contains the tiny amount.

then after you've created a fresh wallet, import that key into your new wallet.

Ahm. 0.031 fee is not "the private key" but very many. Else it would be the standard fee.

oh yeeeah, i see that now.

well, my other advice would be to just archive it for the future... no need to spend it, destroy it OR give it away, just rename it 1000_satoshis.dat and back it up in a safe and maybe look at it again in 5 years.

i never actually delete any wallet files.

consequently i've got a whole collection of 'random' wallet files from the past 12 months which most likely have nothing in them, but i figure if the keys have been used at some point a few years from now i'll merge the 10000+ keys in my various old unused wallets and see if there's any dust collected.
