8661  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO]🇨 Crypterium - Digital Cryptobank with Credit Token & Open Platform🇨 on: October 23, 2017, 11:46:58 AM
Do not forget everyone! Tomorrow is the day to register yourself for a "whitelisting" for the Crypterium project. For those worried about the Bitcoin Gold fork, you do not even need to deposit so do not worry. Just register yourself and your addresses, you can sort out all your Bitcoin later after 25 October when Bitcoin Gold completes its fork. Worst case scenario you always can deposit/buy with altcoins. Looking forward to see what kind of reception Crypterium is going to get!
8662  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Please help select a top25 coin for 3000 USD to hold up to NY on: October 23, 2017, 11:04:45 AM
Except for STEEM, I think you will not go much wrong with choosing either NEM QTUM or STRATIS. My gut feeling is for STRATIS mainly due to the fact that I myself am holding a bit and I have seen new services accept STRATIS as payment options. NEM will always be strong at some point later due to Japanese government intention to using it. QTUM I also feel has good development.

Why not 30% in those 3 in 10% in STEEM? That is a safer option.
8663  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Russia starting ‘CryptoRuble’ !!!!!!!!!!!!!! on: October 23, 2017, 10:14:09 AM
Well, we can speculate and throw rumours around all we want, but the fact remains that all the official word from Putin and the Russian Central Bank has only favoured a national cryptocurrency, and an intention to regulate exchanges and crypto. Nothing solid or permanent has happened so we can only wait. I believe that is what Russia is doing. Waiting. And learning. And then they will be ready to do whatever they want.

My idea: they will not ban Bitcoin, they will regulate heavily. And maybe launch a blockchain project, but not crypto.
8664  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Future of DogeCoin on: October 23, 2017, 08:51:01 AM
To see so much criticism of Dogecoin by so many forum users here is a sign and a clue to what the crypto community here is really all about. I appreciate that OP has spent the time to research it. I hope you see that Dogecoin is very unique because of the giving community, generous towards all and especially charity. Look at all the other alts claiming millions and yet all their community does is talk about price, profit, and going to the moon.

I agree Dogecoin will need to look at its supply again, but do not forget its creator decided to do it like this after a lot of thinking and felt it was the right path.
8665  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Crypterium on: October 23, 2017, 04:53:02 AM
Yes, I think it is a nice idea, which is why I also support it by joining their promotion campaign, as you can see. A lot of people are critical, saying that there should not be banks involved with cryptocurrency, but you have to understand that the idea is to familiarize people with the concept of crypto in an idea of a bank. It is not a centralization at all since people are still in full control of all their crypto and digital assets but it allows people the ease of using and exchanging all their assets with each other.

Okay, so I am reading a little bit about this airdrop project and I have a couple of questions, if dev does not mind to answer!

1. Project was successful in beta, where was this managed and what was the statistics that determined success? For example, how large was userbase and what kind of use did you manage to record. Would be nice to read up on all these!
2. Was the token aspect always in the plan or only decided after the beta success?
8667  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The target is to multiply [btc] not $. on: October 22, 2017, 08:06:30 PM
Unless I am mistaken, this indeed was the goal of almost all alt traders, since we all buy and sell in BTC. It was only recently that I realized I would not be suffering the way I am now if I had traded in FIAT (something like USDT perhaps) instead of Bitcoin. At one way, I have lost a small amount of US dollars, when converting my BTC value of alts. But in reality I have lost 40-50% of Bitcoins thanks to alts dropping and Bitcoin rising.

Remember, nothing is realized until you actually convert it back to money or coin in your own wallet!
8668  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Reversal is happening.. bitcoin money goes to altcoins! on: October 22, 2017, 07:51:47 PM
Looks like bitcoin took a nice dive, but don't get too excited... that may have been it. Altcoins tend to pump in general when BTC corrects a bit, but the general trendline for bitcoin is still bullish, we may try for newer all time highs and when that happens it will not be pretty again for altcoins. I can't ready the future, but I would take my profits and be in BTC ready for the new ATH attempt.

I am somewhat of the same opinion here, except that I am still waiting and holding all my poor altcoin bags, hoping for the best. But I am definitely putting in new money (fiat) only into Bitcoin until at least one of my alts is in profit (in which case I will take profit and keep it as BTC).

I have suffered a terrible month, after months and months of careful planning and buying wisely. This caught me off so badly I am still shaken from the experience.
8669  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Vertcoin on: October 22, 2017, 05:10:25 PM
i would not say it
VTC coin is not competing with 1000 others
where can you find a well maintained coin that collects thousands of dollars in donation
that is asic resistant with such a big network and hash rate
big development team that delivers results every month
vert coin is much more..
if you compare it to 1000 others you dont deserve to invest in it Tongue

If you are an altcoin, then you have to face the facts. You are competing with 1000s of other altcoins, like it or not. Asic resistant? Big network? Hash rate? Big devt team? I can find so many alts having just the same if not more. Let us look at Bitcoin Gold for example. It is precisely Asic resistant and will probably have bigger network and hashrate than VTC. Of course you have to compare!
8670  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Unique coins on: October 22, 2017, 09:58:20 AM
By definition are not all coins unique? Even if they were clones, they already are different from their original copies by blockchain, by price etc.

What you are looking for here is technological innovation, and some of your coins are definitely in that list. I would say for example BitRadio is unique because it was one of the few that looked to revive old methods of listening to radio, something that is dying out but brought a fresh outlook through cryptocurrency and blockchain.
8671  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best altcoin for reserve/hold on: October 22, 2017, 08:07:16 AM
Whats the best altcoin right now. I wanna invest 5000$
Well, that's a huge amount of money and is a good amount to earn profit on an investment. I think, the best altcoin to invest at this moment is still Etherium. It's market value is now increasing because the same thing happens on its market demand. I also prefer investing to Bitcoin since it is getting more expensive. Also, there are already investors on altcoin that are moving to Bitcoin to go along with the increase on its value.

Phew, that is almost 1 Bitcoin worth of dollars. Well done for taking the decision. But do not go all in, follow the basic principle of investment. Spread out that $5000 into some of the top 5 cryptos, definitely ETH should be one.

Then look for another 10 in the top 100, do your own research of course. Look for alts you like, with a good future, good development progress and good signs of active community. Now is such a bargain price for many alts, so do not hesitate to spend the time to learn before buying.
8672  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: John Mcafee to release his own token - McafeeCoin on: October 21, 2017, 08:19:06 PM
Wow. If I were a newbie and I did not get the chance to read all the dirt on McAfee, I would have thought this a marvellous chance to buy some special coin with great backing. I mean, I almost fell for Dan Larimer's EOS! Then again, maybe these guys will prove me wrong and make a lot of money. Does anyone here know which developers will be working on Mcafee's McCoin?
8673  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Elastic(XEL): The Decentralized Supercomputer. The Golem Slayer. MOON. on: October 21, 2017, 12:35:37 PM
...xel is crashing in an unbelievable way
i entered at 14 k and now it's at 4k ...... worst investment of my life

You are better than me Smiley I invested XEL reading here at 21k...

Wow, I have a friend in this forum! I also invested in XEL after first reading about it here. You can scroll back a few threads and find me being one of the idiots who believed a week of research and supplemented by the strong evidence of this thread PLUS the fact that the buy point was made super long term,,, I bought into it. I even managed to see it go up by 15% profit, but I said,,, this is a long term buy so I will not be greedy.

My mistake was not listening to myself and putting a 50% stop loss.

I have NEVER lost an alt so much. Expensive lesson learnt.
8674  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: SIA under 60 satoshis on: October 21, 2017, 12:16:18 PM
Seems cheap. But if you take a look at the price of BTC - and to buy SC you have to buy BTC first - it is not that cheap like you might think now. The last time, when SC was around 60 sat, was in April this year. At this time the value of BTC was 1.500$. Now you have to pay for one BTC 6.000$. Means 60 sats today have the same value like 240 sats in April. Already a good price for this coin. But converted in fiat the price for SC is - for example - absolute stable since middle of september.
Wink

This is what I meant by losses, I did not buy in USD, but in BTC, so I have lost BTC right now (only theoretically as I still am holding). I suppose if BTC does go down, this means the alts like SIA should recover, but the past patterns show that they do not really recover every time BTC traces back from ATH.

Sorry about your investment. 105 is not that high and in crypto world things move fast. SIA is not a shitty product soo wait.
But i hope you didn't go all in : place buy orders at different levels so no matter what, it's always a win.
I even have a buy order at 5 satoshi and 1 satoshi in case of a big red candle.

No worries, you are right, things move fast in Crypto and I do like Sia regardless of the price. I do go all in though! I have a big collection of alts that I buy at specific price ranges, but I will your strategy a thought, thank you!
8675  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin GOLD - A well thought Scam? on: October 21, 2017, 10:07:58 AM
Scam or not I'm not supporting it anyways. I really don't care about their goals either. Apparently they want to decentralize mining but I'm not sure if this is the right way to do so, not to mention if it will succeed. Yesterday coinbase announced that they won't be supporting it. Another reason to stay away.

Scam or not does not affect whether or not we get Bitcoin Gold, so I do not think support is a prerequisite for exchanges having the balance transferred to users. If you support it, then you can open a wallet and host trading pairs for it. But if you do not support it, the fork happens regardless. So Coinbase can say they will not support it but if they are keeping the Bitcoin Gold from their users, this is something else.

Anyway, since when is what Coinbase does another reason to stay away from anything?
8676  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: SIA under 60 satoshis on: October 21, 2017, 09:53:01 AM
I am definitely "crying" right now because when I bought SIA, it was just above 105. I thought to myself at the time, hey if it even goes back to 150, I make a nice 45% profit almost. Now, I'm more than 45% in loss. I have no idea when these alts will ever recover. I think a lot of us people are completely regretting giving up our Bitcoins for alts. Sure, we did not lose much fiat value because BTC is just upping, but we lose profits, and we will lose Bitcoin Gold.
8677  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: STRATIS Pumping again...be careful on: October 19, 2017, 07:14:03 PM
I doubt there are only 1-2 developers behind Stratis. It has become too big to rely on just two people, let one one person. Development is not just about programming, it is about marketing, it is about administration, it is about communication. One person on a project is achieveable when it is a hobby, but Stratis looks like a full time project that requires dedicated attention. The price movement alone tells you that.

Pumping though I agree should raise some caution among everyone!
8678  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is ICO regulation good or bad? on: October 19, 2017, 12:08:44 PM
I think even though the majority of us think of complete decentralization as a dream come true, 99% of us are not prepared for it, what more to say of the 99% of those who do not know about cryptocurrencies? Until we can equip everyone with the same awareness and basic knowledge, that is, education, we will see a lot of people exploit the majority with scams and deceit.

So for this protection, I believe regulation is good. But eventually, it must become democratic.
8679  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptaur -- Scam or Legit? on: October 19, 2017, 08:58:49 AM
Hi there,

Compared to most ICO systems out there this particular one is also backed by an already established company (the business itself is within natural health products market, you can look for Vision International People Group).
As you may have noticed not many people heard about Cryptaur because at the moment is not pushing marketing at all, instead they had a deal with VIPG for their distributors network to push it (about 70k people as far as I know).  It was also introduced by the president of the company, Dmtri Buriak (there are several youtube videos with this). I joined through VIPG, they have a link on our internal platform ( I would say CPT is doing very well if they managed to convince them to put this on the platform).

At described on their website they have a token sale from 1st November till 30th November, just to highlight that after the 2nd November the bonus for token will got own to 33% and  will keep going down till the end of the month. It is not mentioned on their website but at the moment still if you register you get 40% bonus on token sale and also 10% bounty on any person you bring. The minimum you can put in is 50$ worth of either Ethereum or Bitcoin.

Their transactions are pretty smooth, but vary as time length. I had transfers that went in under an hour in total and some that took a few more.
Whenever I contacted their support got a reply pretty quick and all questions answered.

Feel free to try it out and if you have anymore questions I would be happy to help if I can.

Registration: https://wallet.cryptaur.com/syndicates/join/e2a7df3f/
Website: https://cryptaur.com/

All the best!

Where are your sources for the figures such as the size of distributor network? Do not get me wrong but this seems like a MLM setup that just decided to branch into an ICO. This Vision group looks like the typical MLM product selling network and even Cryptaur has referral systems that remind me of things like Amway in America.

Referral in crypto is a bad idea, just so you know.
8680  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Coins are CRASHING!!! Is it the next crash? BTC Down to $5300 as I type this! on: October 19, 2017, 07:01:11 AM
Crash? When Bitcoin loses half its value in a week, then we can call it a crash. The altcoins definitely crashed this month, with many losing more than 50% value. I know this because even though I had more than 10 alt coins in my portfolio, they lost almost 60% in total. Okay they have recovered now but I am still over 35% in red against BTC value, but that is because BTC lost about 10%. I am waiting for them to rise again but it looks like I have to wait for next year!
