8781  Economy / Speculation / Re: Any one else lost money trading due to a typing error? on: November 03, 2011, 02:25:04 PM
I had a typo in my donation address. Someone sent me a tiny donation and since my address was not valid, it went to parts unknown.   Embarrassed

Thanks @enmaku  I corrected the title to reflect the article.
Someone posted on twitter that the projectile was one of those bean bags. Not that a post on twitter means anything.  If it was a bean bag gun, it's dangerously irresponsible to shoot for the head.
8783  Other / Off-topic / Re: If I google the 1st image search on my id this is what I get. What about you? on: October 26, 2011, 11:30:08 PM
A whole line of shirts with my username on them? Ok, cheaper than cafe press.

Shame on the Oakland PD. Very poor policing IMO.

Carlin would point out that he is not describing today's world eloquently, as today he is dead.

@herzmeister That's bloody brilliant.  Cheesy
8787  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [HOWTO] One line to download & compile bitcoin 0.5.0rc1 on Ubuntu on: October 26, 2011, 08:17:21 PM
That did the trick! Thanks.
There is also a PPA for Ubuntu, but it has not been updated and still serves version 0.3.24 of the client.
8788  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Casascius phishers demanding a ransom on: October 26, 2011, 07:44:46 PM
Call me vindictive, but if I got an extortion letter it would inspire me to go on the offensive. Instead of sending him 300BTC, I would pay 600BTC to a very bad man willing to get vengeance for me.
Getting even is one area that I split from logical cost/benefit analysis.   Cool
8789  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [HOWTO] One line to download & compile bitcoin 0.5.0rc1 on Ubuntu on: October 26, 2011, 07:33:23 PM
I get a build error under Ubuntu 10.10. It downloads fine then fails upon compiling.
Still, thanks for your work! I'm sure it can be tweaked.

Code:
src/headers.h:30: fatal error: openssl/buffer.h: No such file or directory
compilation terminated.
make: *** [build/bitcoin.o] Error 1

I have a relative who is a Freeman.  Undecided
Let's just say that Vietnam was not good for his mind.
8791  Other / Politics & Society / Re: I am the 53% on: October 26, 2011, 06:07:08 PM
Not me, I'm down with the 99%. The republicans were quick to bring up the specter of "class warfare".  I say bring the rain. Cool
8792  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Coolest Political Ad Ever on: October 26, 2011, 04:52:48 PM
At any rate, the OP is wrong.

This is the greatest political ad ever:

Hahaha that is awesome. I like when he orders me to "listen up!"

But who could forget the greatest campaign meltdown ever. Enjoy.  Cheesy

8794  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: All these new BitCoin clones? Your opinions? on: October 26, 2011, 02:34:41 PM
I support everyones right to create as many forks as they want, but i'm sticking to bitcoin. And my new invention "Rodeocoin". There is no software, just send me money in the mail and I'll keep track of it in my head.  Smiley

Nice find. Smiley
8796  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Occupy the Banks on: October 25, 2011, 08:08:25 PM
Bitcoin is already being used by the Occupy Wall street General assembly and feedtheprotest, among others.

Cool The revolution will be financed.
8797  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Bitcoin deflation annoyance on: October 25, 2011, 08:05:10 PM
This has been talked about extensively, and you are not alone in your opinion. However I would personally have no interest in a currency with such controls. I prefer to think of BTC like gold. With a fixed supply and a variable demand.
8798  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Coolest Political Ad Ever on: October 25, 2011, 07:17:19 PM
that is a weird ad. Hey is that the guy on Cain's staff who made a big deal out of not buying health insurance. He claimed it was some kind of government tyranny. Of course now he has cancer and is 400k in debt. And of course I and other tax payers are stuck with the bill.
Freakin hypocrites, what happened to "let him die".
8799  Economy / Speculation / Re: Manipulator pulled out at $2.00, he has given up, $1.00 he we come on: October 25, 2011, 05:55:16 PM
