881  Other / Archival / Re: Zet een deel BTC om in NLG on: August 19, 2014, 01:51:25 PM

Hey! Minutes ago I bought Garry's Mod. Coinbase said transaction was complete, but I haven't got any email yet about the game. How long will it take? And in what manner will I get the game? Thanks, and great site you have!

He will send you the code as soon as possible then. You'll receive an e-mail with the correct code, or you might PM here on this forum. I've bought multiple games from Martok, and everything went fine.

I think you're just unlucky that he's AFK now, but I'm sure you will be fine if he has received the BTC.

okay then, just making sure that it'll be delivered. Wait, so you're saying that the site is only manned by him?? that's just... amazing.

I really think indeed. But I don't think there are many humans which are that active like he is. I don't think he really sleeps much hehe, with all my purchases I received the codes (and related PMs) really fast. I don't think I was Lucky, I think you're a bit unlucky. But i'm sure you'll hear from him soon.

He might went out for some groceries or something, hehe.

I've been away for a few days and see the current value is double in comparison it was about a week ago. Great! Looks like I finally bought coins at a right moment.

Unfortunately I didn't bought use amounts of GuldenCoin at that moment, but hey, "wie het kleine niet eert, ...".

885  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: I am out of the mining game :( on: August 15, 2014, 08:58:08 AM
i suggest  you something like this :
1. learn mining strategy
2. prepare some money for investment
3. use that money investment for mining by rent some ghs on the trusted website.

that's my suggestion for handle your electric bill trouble at your home.

may be that able to help

1) There is no real mining strategy other than mining the most profitable coin at that moment in time
-
3) Renting GH/s doesn't save you money really since most people have the total operating costs priced into their rental price.

The only thing rental would help is for somebody trying to mine some pump and dump coin of the day. Of course there's money to be made, but it's mostly just stealing money from new users.  I don't see it as productive.

While GPU mining for example new coins, there is indeed a way to get some profit. You've to be very Lucky to do this these days, but I succeed atleast once.  Mined a quite inactive coin for a couple of hours and they become worth some nice bucks later on.

However, with so many new coins these days, and many coins fail, it's hard to be Lucky doing this. Most Scrypt coins and their value are likely to be influenced by the Scrypt ASICs these days.
886  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: I can not decide to start or not on: August 14, 2014, 05:02:18 PM
yes, better of to buy directly, unless you are really good in trading altcoins.

If you're good in trading altcoins you first have to buy BTC too.. Or you should look for a trustworthy altcoin seller, but they're rare.

This may actually be a good moment to buy BTC directly as it's value is decreasing now. Maybe you should wait a bit longer, as the price may decrease even more. You can use websites such as Bitcoinity to check the current value of the Bitcoin on decent exchanges > http://bitcoinity.org/markets
887  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: I can not decide to start or not on: August 13, 2014, 10:25:10 PM

Actually I bought some today, by dropping of the price fired me.
small amount like $30.

it's a  good time to buy Antminer s3's after the price drop, because the factory sells it with btc.

Thank you for your reply

Everyone has to start somewhere. I think I started with about €40,- too or something. That was the first time I spend Euro's on BTC. Later I bought BTC for more Euro's, but we all have to start somewhere.

When the value of BTC decreases, you'll have to spend more BTC on an ASIC. Be aware of this.

888  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: I can not decide to start or not on: August 13, 2014, 10:13:44 PM
Currently I think it's bad to start mining. Especially if you still have to buy the gear to mine.. Miners who do own the gear do also quit these days as mining currently isn't profitable anymore for many of them.

1. I don't BTC will ever hit $10 again.
2. That's true, the difficulty keeps rising.
3. Eh, what?

Personally I do think Bitcoin will be worth much more in a couple of months from now on, or in about a year or something. How about 5 years..

You might be better of buying BTC directly instead of buying mining gear.
889  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: I am out of the mining game :( on: August 13, 2014, 10:10:12 PM
I think you're one of the many miners that quit. That's why the ASIC devices are getting cheaper and cheaper. This has happend for GPU's too, you can buy some used GPU's for great prices nowadays.

However, it might still be profitable in the long run to mine now. You might not make profit now, but what if the Bitcoin is worth, for example, $5000 next year? It might have been profitable then to keep on mining now.

891  Local / Beurzen / Re: withdraw history en trading history on: August 13, 2014, 10:02:06 PM

Volgens mij heb ik dit bericht in het Nederlands gedeelte geplaatst, maar toch: // I thought I placed this topic in the Dutch section of this forum, however;

Nederlands:

English:
I don't know where I got the file from. I don't download stuff through torrents and I'm the only one who uses this PC. So, that's quite weird. However, I do think that it's malware.

896  Local / Nederlands (Dutch) / Re: Hallo on: August 11, 2014, 07:31:18 PM
Welkom!

897  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NLG] Guldencoin — Pay for food, books, drones, botox, toys and more on: August 11, 2014, 07:24:35 PM
I notice the block reward for NLG is not going to change for over 3 years. Do you think we can maintain current price levels when there is close to a billion coins in 3 and half years time?

Fortunately price isn't just determined by the amount of coins out there, but also by the amount of coins used to pay with and the amount of coins held by spenders, miners, buyers etc. 840 million coins is a lot of moolah so it will certainly be a challenge to keep a steady price at that time. Although, in 3,5 years. You can probably pay at nearly every restaurant and shop in NL with Guldencoin Cheesy That's the goal anyway.

I agree with you. A coin can be devided in many cents aswell, so that's not really working.  We need to attract more people (fans) into GuldenCoin and possibilities to pay with, so more online and offline Merchants. More marketing, both online and offline in the Netherlands will help to increase the value too as I expect the demands for this coin will rise.

I notice the block reward for NLG is not going to change for over 3 years. Do you think we can maintain current price levels when there is close to a billion coins in 3 and half years time?

The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in Netherlands was worth 800.17 billion US dollars in 2013.

Even if NLG participates in 0.1% of the Dutch economy, in time people will be like "Holy moly imagine you were one of those guys who bought a 100 sat" Smiley

That would be great. I'm one of the many who wasn't an early adopter of BTC. I hope being an early adopter of GuldenCoin makes my life easier hehe.  I'll keep stacking up my GuldenCoins. I can't wait for the moment that they're worth quite a lot and that we can use it very often here in the Netherlands Smiley

Succes!

Is there a way that you could implement a method to pay with PayPal? That might be a nice way for us, community, to change some funds on PayPal for GuldenCoin Smiley.

We won't add paypal, sorry.
It looks like the funding is almost done and implementation of paypal will take time and resources. Paypal transactions can be undone by the customer (this is being used for fraud). And paypal blocks/freezes account of open-source and transparency innitiatives.

But I guess there are ways to convert paypal funds into euro's or bitcoins.

Alright, no problem. I understand your reasons. I'm you'll receive enough donations without adding the option to pay with PayPal Wink.

Are you guys familiar with Coin Ticker? It's an app for iOS which shows you the current value of many coins, and also the total worth of your portfolio. GuldenCoin hasn't been added yet, but I asked for it earlier today. That would be great Smiley. The app itself is already great in my opinion. -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=208503.msg8267919#msg8267919.
