8801  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Survey on Cannabis Coins on: September 30, 2017, 03:38:31 PM
I think they have some merit. Since they can't open bank accounts, buying this with their cash may be the thing to do. However they have to turn their cash into coins somehow... Maybe they'll start accepting crypto as payment sooner than most industries.

Yes, think they do as well. FYI though most banks don't bank cannabis, those that do are growing. Compliance tech companies such as (linking videos): blockchain-based Tokken and Kind Financial (Microsoft partnership) are helping banks open & manage cannabis accounts. We have a good relationship with both to collaborate on industry solutions.

See our Cannabis Hemp Exchange (CHEX) token sale is in progress:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2112470.msg21120617#msg21120617

Interesting post. I previously was of the impression that all these cannabis related crypto actually had nothing to do with the industry of cannabis. How legitimate are these links? They are all on Youtube. Do you happen to have the links to formal documentation as well? Or perhaps something in the news industry? At the moment, hard for me to take them seriously. With names like Tokes and Ganja. No offence!
8802  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoin price monitor with email alert. on: September 30, 2017, 02:50:59 PM
That is the basic idea of trading discipline. Buy (or sell) at the entry price you decide. But why not, instead of relying on email updates, just set a buy or sell order on the exchange, and just check back when you can? Then you can immediately get the trade you want (and who knows, even your take profit can trigger while you sleep). If you wait for emails, price moves quickly and it is gone by the time you get on the exchange.
8803  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is steemit profitable? on: September 30, 2017, 02:39:50 PM
I had a bad experience on steemit. I actually came there long before I came to Bitcoin (I did not properly understand Steem Dollars as a cryptocurrency). It seemed so easy at first. Just keep posting original content and people will like it. You earn when you get upvotes (likes).

But I lost interest after seeing new accounts of "girls" just post hello and upload a selfie. And they earn hundreds of upvotes and dollars.

Maybe I am biased but if you are not a famous person or hot girl, do not expect much.
8804  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: 🌟🚗[ANN]CARTAXI: WORLD'S FIRST OPERATING CAR TOWING PLATFORM ON BLOCKCHAIN🚗🌟 on: September 30, 2017, 02:18:57 PM

Its much better if you do propose those things that you mention on here regarding on marketing ideas.Just assumed that they would hear out your opinion and they might able to consider it.
Good for you that you do made investment on Pre-ico.. Ive checked their current status on ICO,we are just on 2 days as of now but they are accumulating 3k ETH. Sounds amazing right?

Not exactly. This kind of project (with working products) should be completely subscribed. And to do that they need around 216000 ETH in 30 days of ICO. So they are way off the mark as of now (as initial days should attract more bids). Hopefully it will pick up as times passes.

This is where their marketing campaign could have made the difference. Check that of Domraider. How easily they reached their ICO target and then selling additional tokens (greedy eh.. Cheesy? )...They are playing the marketing campaign well to back their solid project.

Sorry but way off the mark is completely wrong. If they have already managed to get this amount of 4k (updated as of right now) for less than 2 days gone, then at the same rate we can expect 60,000 ETH at the end of ICO. That is currently more than 12 million dollars (and we know ETH is going to touch $300 so that will be 18 million dollars, which is a hell of a lot of money).

Also, target funding is 29,000 ETH, not 216k. So... already they are more than 10%.

8805  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] MegaX - Millennial Driven Cryptocurrency and Retail Network Token on: September 30, 2017, 02:07:43 PM
Actually,,, I do not know what most people will think but this might be a good idea. The problem with most of us in the crypto space is that we are older than the millenials. And I know a lot of us "get so annoyed" with the young people coming in here and bickering about crypto. But the wise people will try to understand them and sell to what they like. Retail is driven by millennials. They no longer save money like our generation.
8806  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: TGT ( target coin speculation ) on: September 30, 2017, 01:54:19 PM
So far, what I can see about the pattern for ICOs from July to September (including Targetcoin) is this:

> After ICO ends, the listing price on exchanges is slightly above ICO (with bonus included).
> Then high rise prices are achievable in first few days, but volume not big enough.
> As more bounty earners dump, price drops.
> Tokens are cheaper than ICO price.

So for now, buy after ICOs.
8807  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Dogecoin. 2017 will be $ 1 in December. on: September 30, 2017, 01:32:07 PM
Hey, hey, why so much hatefulness for an altcoin that has always been serious about its place in the world of cryptocurrency? Dogecoin community is kind, generous and do not want to talk like theirs is the best. They know it is a fun coin and about being kind for example, tipping and donating. Where are all the nonshitcoin people when there are disasters? Or people who need help? No need for negativity.
8808  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think of the TV show "Crypto Trader" on CNBC Africa? on: September 30, 2017, 12:56:54 PM
For everyone who wants to see the episodes they are available on Youtube - at least the most of the yet aired episodes. Here is the first episode for example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IKkiUgmdJEw

I must confess I know about the series from this thread and I have watched two episodes over the last hour. I personally like it and the topics that are addressed and discussed in the format. Despite crypto currencies are global, I would like to see such tv formats also in other parts of the world. I added the Youtube channel to my favorites.

Thank you for sharing this. I must admit I was very surprised to learn this type of programming existed. Just goes to show how much I do not know about Bitcoin and its popularity in Africa. Even my supposedly technologically advanced country has no such show. Just a lot of business and banks and completely avoid talking about crypto. I wonder if any non English news networks are doing such things. Like Al Jazeera?
8809  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Celebrity Endorsed Cryptocurrency on: September 30, 2017, 12:06:05 PM
Endorsements are meaningless to me. Even if the biggest names in cryptocurrency endorse something now, it does not seem to do anything to help the long term price and value. The only benefit to me is the marketing pull. A lot of ICO participants. A lot of crazy buying. But no real contribution to actual, project value. The result? Coins that become worthless as soon as the endorsers abandon it after making profit.
8810  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Maksim Zaslavskiy is sued by the SEC for ICO scamming [REcoin, DRC World] on: September 30, 2017, 11:50:24 AM
Never heard of this ICO either. But am not surprised with names like DRC,,, I mean, there is something off about names that sound so MLM and ponzi-like. And even the language of the marketing gives them away. Pay attention to details, guys, before you put your hard-earned crypto into ICOs. If they sound too good to be true,,, they are. If you cannot find a way to make sense of the information, then the information is probably misleading. Sounds like simple logic, and it is!
8811  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dash vs Monero vs Komodo on: September 30, 2017, 09:08:14 AM
Sorry for my ignorance, I had never heard of Komodo as an anonymous coin until this comparison. But other than anonymity, can there be other ways to compare these sorts of altcoins? I seem to understand now that every coin says it is the best anonymous use. However, we need to wait and see. Bitcoin as we all know is already used by FBI and Interpol to track. Now I predict in 2018 or 2019, some people will be tracked with one of the "anon" coins. Dash already had a security flaw recently. But nothing major yet.
8812  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Status.im - good time to buy? on: September 30, 2017, 07:51:41 AM
This was to be expected, the 25% below ICO price. Why? It raised 50 million dollars in June, and this was far too much for a rather simple idea of an Ethereum interfacing wallet. Now I know it is not easy to do, but the idea was quite simple. Nothing groundbreaking. When you look at the wallets that have been made, I do not think even 1 was made with 1 million. Too much was raised!
8813  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Highly Volatile Coins Can Make a Lot of DOGE on: September 29, 2017, 07:31:09 PM
I am one of those who make profits from DOGE but I have been lucky, and I always make it small dips and highs. Since it was from 60 satoshi, I make maybe 60,000 satoshi per round of trade (one week). I know it is quite silly but I only have about 15000 DOGE as my capital so it was nothing to lose. Perhaps if I count properly I only made about a million satoshi so far, including when I bought back 15000 doge at 20 satoshi last week and sold it for 29 all. Now waiting for buy time at 20 again!
8814  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BAT or Ripple on: September 29, 2017, 07:14:03 PM
I know a lot of people hate Ripple. The main things I saw was that yes it is an old coin, but the original Ripple has almost nothing in common with the Ripple that we know about today. But if you put your ideologies aside, you can see that Ripple has a lot of beginnings and developments that are almost exactly like... Ethereum. So centralized and so business oriented. To me, this means that price wise, we can see Ripple hitting $100 within 2 years. And then after that, we can reassess.
8815  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: South Korea to ban all future ICO on: September 29, 2017, 07:09:31 PM
Do not worry about it. The worst has come and the worst is past. For now. Some countries will follow the ban, while others will look to regulate. Trust me, even the ones opting for bans now are actually buying time to decide how to regulate. But if all the Asian countries follow China, we may be in for a very long rough ride. So much uncertainty in this future.
8816  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Providence (PVE) 100% Cashless & Physical Crypto Casino & Resort on: September 29, 2017, 02:13:54 PM
Are there any plans for mobile app,to make online casino playing easier and more convenient?

Hey Dirk! For now we will just be rolling out a responsive HTML version. Also our games are not FLASH based (like other casinos) so when you resize it just resizes the iframe. On our end all will be well UX designed and tailored.

Regarding the native app. We won't have that in the immediate future. There are several reasons for that. First is that it is quite a "pain" to push a gambling app through Apple and Google Play Stores. Much guidelines have to be satisfied. But also the most blocking reason is the crypto integration which they are also very strict here. Most other native casino games have in-app purchases and payment details while we are operating with cryptocurrency and at the moment I'm not sure if any crypto casino is on a native platform support?

Hello! Every day I can still find new projects that started a while ago and yet that I have never heard of. Looks like I am too late to look at the pre ICO period. I just have one real burning question. Right on the announcement, you mention that in 2016 you had several hundred billion dollars of profit. Am I mistaken here? Because if I could share even 0.001 % I would be looking at millions of dollars.

Please excuse my question,,, sorry in advance if I made a mistake.
8817  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Nexus, I got pocket rockets and I'm all in on: September 29, 2017, 12:05:36 PM
Looks like a heavy powered band of brothers supporting this project. I had no idea that Tatiana Moroz was still around (she is listed there the last one as songwriter and blockchain expert). I watched a few of her Youtube shows. Must say that I do not really see her as a blockchain expert even if she manages to interview a lot of very expert personalities.

Good entry price for me, anyone?
8818  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The Next Bullrun on: September 29, 2017, 10:44:08 AM
I'm quite pessimistic for the short term, everything has been struggling since early June. I know there was the big bitcoin event and everything fell... but as soon as it recovered there was China, Jamie Dimon etc. The market is really struggling to reach ATH. I think we might see a dip before November, and then a rise afterwards back to about where we are now.
Hope I'm wrong though!

You have the same conservative approach I have. I think the bull run was completely unexpected, but it did help cushion the bad news from China and all those ICO bans and what not. I dread to think what would have happened if Bitcoin was not past $4000 when the news arrived. I think the alts would have suffered a lot more.

I think patience is key here. We must remember it is still 3 months left to a fantastic year.
8819  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How are pre-ICOs advertised? on: September 29, 2017, 10:30:02 AM
It depends on which pre-ICOs you want to use as benchmark. Some pre-ICOs have years of marketing. Done privately and online in communities, building up for a very long time. You have to understand that pre-ICOs usually involve big investors and individuals, and these companies want to use it to make a statement to use as further marketing for the full ICO, which is completely public.

It is also sometimes a fake move I believe. Just open a pre-ICO, Put in my own 10000 ETH as a big whale and boom it is closed and finished in 15 minutes. Imagine the hype.
8820  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptocurrencies (NON-bitcoin) its better to trade opposite USD or BTC? on: September 29, 2017, 06:35:33 AM
BTC for sure. Unless you are only going to trade Litecoin, you should hold a steady BTC income/balance so you can diversify out to any altcoin any time you want. Not all alts trade in USD but ALL alts trade against BTC.

Also, you are referring to Tether (USDT) right? Another advantage is you can loan out BTC with interest but not Tether. Small interest for sure, but you are growing balance anyway.
