party is over...two attempts to ~275$ failed. Bye bye bitcoin!  Cry

Yeah.... haaaa hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Bitcoin is doomed because we have NOT reached $275 for nearly 2 months.

Fuck, I'm selling everything.

We have to remember the fact that this seems to be a steady incline in the prices and not some huge pump toward the moon like back in 2013.  Everyone on here is getting so antsy for some huge increase in a short matter of time... while they forget that a huge pump will ultimately see a huge dump.
902  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you believe we need more ways of advertising Bitcoin currency? on: October 21, 2015, 05:15:28 PM
No t-shirt should be saying anything about price....

Besides, I'm the only one that's making fashion merchandise here. I suggest everyone else should come up with their own ideas and stop trying to take other people's ideas...think about it. If you do what everyone else is doing, that's automatic competition. You want to put out a product or service that is 100% different. Something that's never been suggested or done before.

For example: I am also sculpting handmade bitcoin Gangster chains soon. Never been done, and will sell pretty quickly. Come up with your own plan, please.

Lol, it's always good to have some kind of competition in the market, and it's pretty inevitable if there is a company or a person making a good amount of profit off an idea, there will competition to face soon enough.. no one is going to allow you to have the market all to your self.  What you are asking is to have a monopoly on the "bitcoin clothes" area, so you can jack up the prices whenever you want, and say "I'm the only person doing this, so if you want said product, you must buy from me."

Also, lol at "Gangster bitcoin chains"...

Quote
Never been done, and will sell pretty quickly

You know you are selling to a bunch of nerds right? If there are people genuinely interested in getting "Gangster chains" for their bitcoin collection, at the most it will probably be two or three people, and those people will only probably buy one...
903  Economy / Speculation / Re: yay btc goes ~$250 ! on: October 21, 2015, 05:09:05 PM
In 24 hours bitcoin price changed from $266 to $269. This is a good movement in October. I hope we can touch $280 in the end of the month or in early November Grin. I still hope bitcoin price will break $270 limit tomorrow.

This is a good movement since we dipped sub-200. We have been in a slow and steady increase in price for several weeks now, and I think it would go on like this until the end of this year. I just hope that it holds its momentum until the halving.
Yeah. But I'm afraid that after we reach $280 or $290 in the end of December, it will crash down again in January like this year. Still I hope we can touch $350 when bitcoin halving is happened.

I believe if we stay on this steady price increase, we will be just fine... as long as no huge pump happens where it spikes the price, there will be no huge dump... Slow and steady wins the race gentleman.
904  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency - 0.8.8.6 on: October 21, 2015, 12:41:21 AM
Hey all, CES 2016 in Las Vegas is having a Digital Money Forum.

http://www.newsbtc.com/2015/10/20/huge-ces-2016-to-host-the-digital-money-forum/

If I can qualify for a media badge I'll be there regardless, but I'm wondering if we should try to have an even greater presence there?  I can discuss Monero on the floor with some people there (and don't worry, suit only - no Halloween costumes Wink but they say if you want to speak formally to contact them.  I'm willing to do it, but my technical understanding of Monero is still being polished. I know that fluffyponyza gave a great presentation at least once at a bitcoin conference and wonder if it would also be appropriate here.

I say you should do it! Personally, I couldn't think of a better person to represent Monero... I would just try to get a very good understanding of what you're trying to talk about and accomplish by going there.  If it's just getting people aware of a new digital cash for the ages, with a twist of entertainment, I think you got it in the bag.
905  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 20, 2015, 05:04:58 PM

Thanks for the link.  That's a very interesting development to potentially drive BTC prices skyward.

Ok, so question... If bitcoins prices do end up "sky rocketing" when China gives the green light... Wouldn't this in turn just demotivate China's government once again? The main point of the article was saying that China is starting to like Bitcoin because it's less volatile and can be regulated... If prices sore upwards, there is a bigger chance of a huge dump, and probably drive their government away...

Or am I just reading too much into this?
906  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC in your country on: October 20, 2015, 12:36:11 AM
in my country i see a couple of shops that accept bitcoin. there was a coffee house i saw downtown last week that i paid with bitcoin at, it was extremely fast and smooth. i think this year alot of merchants realized and understood the true potential of bitcoin and gave it a shot.
lets just hope next year, the amount of merchants supporting bitcoins increase

I would imagine it will steadily increase... but it honestly just depends on what area of your country or which country, for that matter, you live in.  I know in the U.S. there are more and more bitcoin ATM's being set up and local businesses that are adopting bitcoin as a valid payment, but in the state I'm in has yet to see it's first BTCATM, and only one or two stores accept bitcoin at the moment... and those are jewelry businesses, not your typical coffee shops..
907  Economy / Speculation / Re: yay btc goes ~$250 ! on: October 20, 2015, 12:23:22 AM
prices seem pretty stable now, ~265 what i dont understand is how the prices on the chinese exchanges are like $10 higher than the amercian exchanges? cant people just buy a ton of btc at the american exchange and sell at th chinese one and profit like 4% rinse and repeat?

I think the problem with that, is the fact that most people don't link their cc's to their exchange site of choice.  I know I don't (or can't; got discover)... so that makes their bitcoin purchases not instant.  But for the people that are able and can get instant bitcoin purchases, I would see that would be a possibility... Not quite sure.
908  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Start a Gambling Site on: October 20, 2015, 12:06:19 AM
And you need a parters for this bussness and some assistance to  have a good support from gamblers..
Making a website is to long to make then also css design database and scripts...... I think you need a capital around 4000$ .

I agree with the fact he needs little be contacts with partners like experienced people but doesn't need a capital of 4000$.Websites developing has become so much cheaper now .For 200$ anyone can develop a full fledged gambling website ,maybe they will ask 200 extra for bitcoin API but its still less than 1000$ he can spend rest of the money for the most important part SEO and traffic .
the $4000 capital doesnt all have to be for development and for site maintenance, the money could also be used as capital for bets placed on the sites and such. although $4000 seems like quite a high number to me. but ive never made a gambling site so what do i know Sad

$4000 would definitely be way too much.  If someone is just trying to start a PvP site where the site doesn't need a bank supply to ensure that they can pay out the winners, since it will be players playing against each other with their own bets, then all they would need is money for someone to code (if they already can't) and money to host a site (if they predict they wouldn't have the bandwidth to support incoming traffic).
909  Economy / Speculation / Re: yay btc goes ~$250 ! on: October 19, 2015, 11:58:40 PM
I have coinbase on my other monitor all throughout the day, my day started here in my office with $268 and now it's down to $264, but it's just jumping from $264 - $267 level. So I guess this will be our rate for this week?

Probably staying in here before making a jump to $300 levels, though I doubt that we will cross $300 in October alone. These price jumps won't let me sell some of my assets. Cheesy Still holding on to my coins that I bought dirt cheap @ 200.

Hope so too. Let's hold this level we have now and climb step by step to $300 til the end of the year.
Would be a good reason to celebrate a happy new year 2016!

I'm still speculating that it will go above $300 by the end of this year... I'm predicting $325, and by the end of November I think it can get up to $280.  But for some reason, I feel that December is going to be a "rocket to da moon" type of month.  People are worrying about the price increases before and after the halving, so I think people will stock up before the new year begins.
910  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you believe we need more ways of advertising Bitcoin currency? on: October 19, 2015, 08:39:03 AM
-snip-
We may also need some strong firms to use bitcoin in couple of their services (like spotify etc.)

A little while back, people were really pushing the idea of getting Uber to start allowing drivers to accept bitcoin payments.  I think this will be a huge push for advertisement, because (drunk) people might want to know what the QR codes are for and what they are supposed to do with it... Maybe not though... Most people who use Uber are drunk to the point of being very talkative with the driver or about to throw up in their center console.
911  Economy / Speculation / Re: yay btc goes ~$250 ! on: October 19, 2015, 08:34:52 AM
But it is at $268.7 on Bitfinex.
that is a significant jump. I regret not buying some last week now.  Sad

everyone was saying that under 230 is a must buy, but people still fear for sub 200, that never happened, and i don't count sub 200 on a single exchange, those are traps

230-300 is the range of profit now, until further prorgession

But the thing is, is that it did go below $200 for a very very short amount of time... I think sometime in August or beginning of September?  But regardless, people are now starting to wake up and paying attention to the prices now more than ever so they can "go in" on a good price point ever since the "big" spike.
912  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: October 19, 2015, 08:30:55 AM
Is this all just about hoping for The Big Pump so we can cash out to fiat and buy Lambos or are we actually trying to accomplish something here?

I just want my Lambo.

But in all seriousness, technology will always be an arms race against governments and organizations trying to regulate and profit from it. We may win some battles, but I doubt there will ever be a time where we can sit back and live happily ever after with a perfectly incorruptible form of money.

Idk, I think it's refreshing that this group of "monerians" are making a valiant effort to try though.  Plus, even though it may end up being "centralized", it won't (including bitcoin) ever be as bad as the private banks which prints more money it doesn't have.  There's a finite number, which therefore makes it better IMO.
913  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will grow, if we create opportunities for people to earn it. on: October 18, 2015, 11:21:18 PM
What is the difference between "earning bitcoins" and earning dollars and buying bitcoins? I don't see a difference so I don't understand why it is important to "earn bitcoins".

I think the difference between "earning" and "buying" is the fact that it creates an incentive for people to start using bitcoins and have the potential to increase purchasing power for themselves.

So let look at signature campaigns for an example.  My signature campaign pays me .12 btc per week if I reach my limit, and not X amount of $ in bitcoin.  So compared to when bitcoins where going for ~$200 when I started it only got me around $22, but now since the price has risen it gets me about $28-$30 of bitcoins... so instead of being payed in money at a base salary compared to a base salary in bitcoins, there's a huge difference...

The same can be said in the other way, if bitcoins go down in price, you get less "purchasing power" in the currency you chose to be paid in.

full retrace of the previous day.

Good Luck Bulls from here on!

I'm poor again. This game is so much fun Grin

No kidding... I woke up today feeling confident about my small purchase last night, now I'm feeling quite stupid.  Oh well, guess I'm going back to work to make up for the losses Grin
915  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there any female BitcoinTalker around you? on: October 18, 2015, 03:04:39 AM
I found it's very hard to inspire females to use bitcoin.  I tried to invite 20 female friends who are aging from 19 to 45 to use bitcoin by giving them free bitcoin 0.25BTC each.  Only 10 of them accepted.  These ten ladies accept to use bitcoin, but they never talk about bitcoin, they never heard of bitcointalk.org.  What they like to talk are just hairdressing, shopping, keeping fit ...

I'm curious is there any female BitcoinTalker around you?

Wow, that's very generous of you to just "give" them .25 BTC out of generosity... unless... Wink

But seriously, I've tried countless times to try to persuade, anyone for that matter, to use bitcoins and they basically just see it as some kind of scam.  I don't know, maybe people will start to realize the benefits of cryptos in the future in my little "circle" of friends.. but until then, I'm a lone wolf.

Really nobody except my wife and trust me she had enough of me and Bitcoin already. Smiley
-snip-

I definitely know that feeling.. lol.
916  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How long did it take you to make 1 BTC? on: October 18, 2015, 02:54:48 AM
Well in my case I think I make my first 1BTC in 5 months after joining here in this forum last February this year. Quiet long but not bad for bitcoin beginner like me that time. I achieved that by doing some signature campaign, gambling, affiliate programs and some giveaway and promotions.

Good for you! I know, it would take a lot of time and effort doing campaigns for low ranked members... plus adding up giveaways and promotions might be worth a couple 100K satoshi, but I would assume that couldn't be much.  But that's interesting you made a good profit from gambling, what kind of gambler are you?

Also, doesn't it make you want to try to earn more and more every day?... you know.. "gotta catch 'em all"? Wink
917  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Secure BTC Market Coming Very Soon on: October 18, 2015, 02:48:08 AM

We have a strong track record regarding privacy policy and it will stay that way.

How do you guys have a "strong track record" if you haven't even created the site yet?  What record are you referring too?  I understand trying to sell us on key points that the website would do, but don't say you already are known for doing something you haven't even done yet.
918  Other / Off-topic / Re: What would you buy with 1 bitcoin? on: October 18, 2015, 02:45:00 AM
i never buy 1 bitcoin  Grin

lol, this thread isn't about "would you buy" 1 bitcoin... and also I think it would be smart to start buying rare physical coins, because they will appreciate in value over time, regardless of what bitcoins price becomes.  I really wouldn't buy any other kind of "good" with bitcoin.  I would just trade it for altcoins that I currently see profitable in the long run, or physical coins that I see profitable in the long run.  For me, it's all ways been about the long run
919  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 18, 2015, 02:35:55 AM

lol... well, when that time comes (probably by next week or the week after) you can sell me yours. I'll be happy to pick up some spare coin you might throw to the bull riders.

Just curious though, how many coins did you sell out?

in two weeks.  Roll Eyes

if so, are you buying all the cheap coins right no? no point to buy at 300 if you can have them for 265.

just curious, how many are you willing to buy for 300?

I'm putting as much extra funds as I have into bitcoin as I can currently afford... but as of right now, unfortunately that's not much.  What I was getting at is that I think it would be dumb to sell out a lot of your bitcoins you have, when you can see a clear rally coming.  There has been so much progress and news out there of businesses starting to incorporate bitcoins, banks starting to look at the block chain (I know what your thinking, and no, they won't start there own crypto "coin"), more regulated and better exchange site platforms that allow major players to start buying crypto (Ex: gemini)... There won't be a Gox, because I don't believe there is or will ever be another Gox situation... at least I sure hope not.
920  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: October 18, 2015, 02:28:49 AM

Don't take it bad, but this sounds very much like what crapcoins do: focus on the form rather than the content.
I question the effectiveness of your approach in a forum full of competition in terms of shiny bells and whistles.

But it would also be a mistake to eschew form and flash entirely.  Remember, it's not always the superior technology that wins if something with better marketing usurps it.
-snip-

I mean, I couldn't agree with you more.  But every time I think of this relationship of between adverting/marketing and technology, I see it as an relationship to Apple vs Windows vs Android... Apple seems to succeed through a type of advertising where it's very elegant and simple at the same time.  Then Android or windows has a superior technology compared to Apple, but you see EVERYONE using Apple products.. because it's simple and pleasing to the eye.

I think there would be a big beneficial factor for Monero if it incorporates both, and what better time to start now?
