Looks like ninja stuck. Can someone post here list of all pools on 1.2.6?
DEV v2 pool still on 1.2.3?

dev pool is likely to never be changed again, and will no longer be able to be used, since no one has heard from the original BURST developer in over 1.5 years.

My suggestion would be to forget about dev pool, and move over to a different pool. pool.burstcoin.biz and pool.burstmining.club could use some extra hashpower.

Please do NOT move to ninja, we're in the process of rebuilding the db on ninja's wallet, and fixing some issues in the wallet that are allowing for the forking issues we're seeing now.

I'm aware that it is annoying, trust me, we've spent over a million coins from our own pockets to make sure the pools pay out even if they hit blocks on forks. So we're pretty set on getting this fixed as soon as possible.

Dev V2 pool is up and running 1.2.6 so main burst dev is still alive (someone change wallet in the pool). I mine his pool from the begining and IMO is the most stable burst pool. Never had problem with this. So i stay with original dev pool

Ya, same here.  Stoked his pool is caught up. Cheesy

Ethereum will be a laughing stock when they release the Radeon network with 200 billion transactions per second and realize there are no transactions because no one uses the shitcoin.

Still helping ETH price and hurting ETC i see.
You still dont get this?
And i guess you are surprised to see the ETC volume has gone from 150k volume to 4K.......
New ETC price roof is now at .003.

You are making ETC become the biggest failure in modern coin times.

Honestly bitpop...at first I thought you just another die-hard ETC supporter who likes to run his mouth because *shrug*.  Then I realized you actually created the ETC ANN OP.  How in the world can someone who is supposed to represent (and advocate for) a coin consistently talk shit about the competition?  Surely you realize how bad this makes not only you look, but ETC look, in the eyes of others.  If I were an ETC supporter and advocate, I'd be quite embarrassed knowing you're out there typing away....

With dcct's optimizer tool, is it possible generate the optimized plots in a specified location?  I generated my plots so they took nearly the entire drive, 2tb and 4tb plot files (well, ~1.8 & 3.6 tb to be more accurate).  Therefore, if I wanted to optimize, I would either need to replot so they're currentDriveSize / 2, or have a way to specify directory of optimized plot. Thanks for the help!

Any possibility to use the optimizer like this?

Yes, you can specify the output location of the optimized plot to be a different drive.

Thanks for the confirmation.  Can you tell me the usage to do that?  I've tried the following (and other similar variations) with no luck:

optimize E:/plots/4163282010088137402_0_7200000_50000 H:/plots/4163282010088137402_0_7200000_7200000

926  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage on: August 17, 2016, 10:24:51 PM
Can I just complain about some aspects of the Sia wallet?

- I really dislike that the wallet automatically locks after you quit the UI, if I unlock it I'd like it to stay unlocked until I lock it again manually, I am not very worried about hacks or whatever.

- I think it's patronizing and silly that you can't create your own password for locking/unlocking the wallet. I think the ui-generated passwords are ridiculously long and unnecessary and I feel like it's kind of insulting to imply users can't create good passwords, especially if they're using a sophisticated blockchain platform like Sia.

-Unlocking takes a long time, or well, longer than the unlocking of almost every other wallet I've used before. There has to be a way to speed it up. Or, see above and let users have more control over keeping the wallet unlocked.

That's abut it. Otherwise I think it's a very cool idea and am very happy with the software in general. I can't be the only person who has similar gripes though.

My thoughts exactly. The Linux version also takes about 15 minutes to unlock.

Honestly, I think those are low-hanging fruit in light of some of the other more broken user experiences the wallet offers.  Besides, something as trivial as picking your own password....those are security features which help strengthen the network as a whole.  What should be worked on as a top priority:
  • Bugs.  There are a few major ones already listed on GitHub involving hosting/uploading files.  These should be top priority.
  • Visibility into market rates when one is trying to host storage space. It would be nice to see a list of contracts that are already anounced to the network (both from hoster and buyer perspectives), so I can see where in the current market I want my contract to lie
  • Visibility into what contracts you're buying into when you decide to buy storage. Right now, the UI is not indicative at all of how storage space is bought on the network.

That's my opinion anyway.  I'd like to be able to host space and rent space, as that's the major feature of Sia, and I'd like to be informed about it all when I do it.

New asset on the exchanges: BurstVest

Name: BurstVest

Asset ID: 9942303089158877431
Asset Issuer: BURST-TX7W-YTB2-EZY7-APA7J
Supply: 1,000,000 (1,000,000 will be sold on the market. All profit from sales goes into the asset)
Price: 100 (Has 2 decimals to break into 1 burst per .01 shares. All assets will be the same price from the issuer! NO increase!)
Asset Decimals: 2
Dividends: Monthly

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
AS A PROMOTION, THE FIRST DIVIDEND WILL HAVE A BONUS FROM MY PERSONAL WALLET
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

BurstVest invests it's funds into current and future assets and reinvests profits while maintaining dividends to shareholders.

The purpose of BurstVest is to simplify investing in multiple assets and reinvesting profits by packaging it into one asset. To put it in simpler terms, BurstVest takes investor's funds and allocates them to assets. The revenue from those assets is split into shareholder dividends, some of it is reinvested, and 1.5% is taken as a maintenance fee. The most unique aspect of BurstVest is that it reinvests 35% of it's revenues creating a larger dividend each month. No matter how many shares are sold, the dividends will keep going up for as long as the burst asset exchange exists.

Shares will be sold 100,000 at a time on the exchange.

Burstvest will allocate it's investor's funds like this:
20% BURSTize ID:14692463117907261266
15% BURSTeam ID: 14092376023955917604
15% thstake ID: 18176646582737130927
15% BurstGames ID: 9245423647144851863
10% ByteEnt ID: 1800253871016293364
10% BURSTaker ID: 15208279992621279224
15% Retained in the wallet for future assets. Wallet Address: BURST-TX7W-YTB2-EZY7-APA7J

The profits from the asset investments will be distributed:
60% Dividends to investors
35% Invested in more assets
3% Put into the wallet for future assets(Future assets will be determined by majority on the burstcoin forum)
1.5% Maintenance fee

Any funds sent to the asset will go directly into buying an asset immediately.
Don't have any burst? Throw some faucet burst at the exchange and you can get .01 shares per burst! If I go to the faucet and get 5 burst, I can get .05 shares and watch the profits roll in.

Just in case anybody missed it. The price of the asset in future releases will be the SAME. No increase whatsoever because that would cheat people who are late into buying it. HOWEVER, Any late buyers will not receive dividends from the previous months.

If you still aren't convinced, you can check how many of what asset the wallet currently owns by going to the exchange and clicking on the account ID (Who owns it). Anyone can see how many of what asset the wallet owns. There is the proof that this asset is legit.

Any amendments to investment percentages will be addressed on the official burstcoin forum page

http://forums.burst-team.us:4567/topic/1111/ann-burstvest

Exactly the kind of asset I've been looking for.  Just invested heavily Cheesy

I recently replotted all my hdd's as I was constantly getting a message from Blago's miner saying my submitted deadline was really bad, like thousands of years.  After replot though, I still occasionally get the message from the miner. Is there anything else I should be checking?  I vaguely recall from launch something around making sure your system time was correct?

It looks like you are using Blago's miner. I got a similar error when I used luxe's Jminer, and it was caused by increasing the "connectionTimeout=6000" value, and solved by decreasing it again. Perhaps there is something similar you can check with your miner settings?

Thanks, but I don't see a setting similar to "connectionTimeout".  My config:
Code:
{
   "Mode" : "pool",
   "Server" : "pool.burst-team.us",
   "Port": 8124,
   "UpdaterAddr" : "pool.burst-team.us",

   "EnableProxy": true,

   "CacheSize" : 40000,
   "ShowMsg" : false,
   "ShowUpdates" : false,
   "UseSorting" : true,
   "Debug": false,
   "UseHDDWakeUp": true,
   "SendBestOnly": false,
   "UseFastRcv" : true,
   "SendInterval": 100,
   "UpdateInterval": 1000,
   "UseLog" : false,
   "ShowWinner" : false
}

I only started seeing this message when I switched pools because Dev v2 pool was on a sidechain.

Yea, the system time could potentially be an issue, but unless it is years off, you shouldn't be seeing issues with THAT bad of deadlines...

How bad are they?

A potential solution for this I may be offering in the Marketplace soon, a BURST plotting service. That way users with issues on their systems, can purchase plotted drives from me, and/or buy drives and send them to me for plotting, I will do it with one of my high powered GPUs which doesn't take much time at all, then send it back, and/or sell new drives pre-plotted.

All the user would have to do is get an account, and provide me with the numeric public key.

Anyone think this is a good idea for a service? I also may be able to make the stagger max size, I.E. optimized plotted drives.

This along with the announcement of two new assets by myself and a few partners in the team, will make some splashes here soon...

But the biggest thing in the near future, is the BURST Smart Contract Hacker Challenge. I will be posting more details and a PR document that we will want to get out to any and every news agency possible.

I believe I have a hookup to get me into cointelegraph and potentially get an interview as well. I think this will be the time that BURST will see a MASSIVE increase in interest.

Like that bad. I've only got ~6tb plotted so far, so maybe reading plots that are being formed is throwing that error.  I vaguely remember a plot optimizer tool....sets the stagger to the same size as the number of nonces, right?  Where can I get that and example usage?

Using the gpu plotter, is it
Code:
<address>_<startNonce>_<numOfNonces>_<staggerSize>
or
Code:
<address>_<startNonce>_<endNonce>_<staggerSize>

So, if I was lining up my plot generation, would I want:

Code:
gpuPlotGenerator generate buffer E:/plots/4163282010088137402_0_10_2 E:/plots/4163282010088137402_10_10_2 E:/plots/4163282010088137402_20_10_2

Thanks!!

This:

Go to: http://wallet.burst-team.us/rewardassignment.html , ignore the first two fields, put your account pass-phrase in the third, and the Burst Address of whwere you want the assignment set to in the fourth. hit submit, after a few seconds you'll get back 6-7 lines of gibberish, that means it worked, and then after 4 blocks you can mine on the new pool.

Ok, followed those instructions.  Now, when I start the miner, it simply hangs before making any connection (Blago's miner, latest version). My config:

Code:
{
   "Mode" : "pool",
   "Server" : "pool.burst-team.us",
   "Port": 8124,
   "UpdaterAddr" : "178.62.39.204",
   "UpdaterPort": 8121,
   "InfoAddr" : "localhost",
   "InfoPort" : 8125,
   "EnableProxy": true,
   "ProxyPort": 8126,
   "Paths":["E:\\plots","H:\\plots","I:\\plots","Y:\\plots","Z:\\plots"],
   "CacheSize" : 40000,
   "ShowMsg" : false,
   "ShowUpdates" : false,
   "UseSorting" : true,
   "Debug": false,
   "UseHDDWakeUp": true,
   "SendBestOnly": false,
   "UseFastRcv" : true,
   "SendInterval": 100,
   "UpdateInterval": 1000,
   "UseLog" : false,
   "ShowWinner" : false
}
