921  Other / Meta / Re: DefaultTrust changes on: November 02, 2019, 06:53:26 PM
There are a lot of people who are on DT who have negative trust. It seems there might be a mismatch between who is on DT and who should be on DT.
Just because someone has received negative "feedback" from someone deemed trustworthy by some users doesn't mean they can't also be trustworthy to other users. This seems to me the system is working as intended and spreading out the Default trust as opposed to having it be a core group.

It should really only be used by newbies anyways as more experienced users should create their own custom trust lists.
I didn't say that those who have negative trust should not be on DT. Although this may be the case some of the time.
922  Other / Meta / Re: [RELEASED] @mention notification bot - now with Telegram on: November 02, 2019, 06:36:34 PM
Suggestion: create a separate topic for ignore lists, something like Add comments to Flags on LoyceV's Trust Flag viewer. The bot can scrape the thread for posts once in a while, and users can just update their list in their post.
If it helps, I can create a thread, scrape it for you, and output usernames (or userIDs) in txt-files somewhere on loyce.club.
I am not familiar with how the OP's bot works, but I would imagine he is already capable of scraping and parsing information. You need to sign up via a PM that I presume is scraped/parsed.

It would be a great feature if there was a way to not receive notifications when certain people mention my name or quote my messages. Sort of like an ignore list.

Thanks.

Bitcoin is fully anonymous
Bitcoin is very far from fully anonymous.

It is pseudo anonymous

This is what happens when you give greedy capitalists control over a basic utility that everyone depends on.

PG&E has served democrats agenda for years at the expense of maintaining their grid.

If electric companies were advancing profits over public safety, there would be similar problems elsewhere in the country, but there is not (except PR). The common denominator is corrupt democrat politicians running government almost unopposed for decades.
927  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 2020 Democrats on: October 30, 2019, 04:01:37 AM
Harris is too transparent that she will say anything necessary to obtain political power. This became clear when she criticized Biden's support of 'bussing' in a debate a couple of months ago -- she got some headlines, but the merits behind the criticism quickly fell apart.

Nationally, she is polling at around 5% in the RCP national average for the nomination, and I don't think this is high enough to have a realistic shot. She is probably in the worst possible position in that she is doing well enough so that she is expected to receive delegate votes, but low enough so that she may not get more than one or two in the early primaries, which could lead to donors pulling funding. The candidates polling in the 1% range on the other hand are not expected to get any delegate votes, and if they do, they should expect to see a major influx of donations.

Trump currently has a major advantage in terms of funding by a large margin. He is accumulating a bigger war chest than he can realistically spend this early in the cycle, and will have plenty of money once the 2020 cycle really heats up. Ditto with the GOP as a whole, especially since the impeachment inquiry has started. Democrats on the other hand are receiving much less from donors, and are having to spend more than they are receiving (they are in debt), and more overall because they are competing with eachother.
928  Other / Meta / Re: Merit source observations on: October 30, 2019, 03:36:52 AM
Assuming that exactly one person was removed (in theory, two people could have been removed, and one added, or whatever), the person removed had a monthly source of 150.

This might allow someone to look at sent data and narrow who was removed.
You are right.

I usually check merit stat page every day but sometimes I forget to check it daily, so that change assumed to happen very recently.
I would not be surprised if theymos were to add a replacement merit source at the same time a merit source resigns/gets fired. I believe theymos added multiple merit sources when Vod resigned from being a merit source.

In all likelihood, this was only Vadi2323 being removed as per the thread suchmoon posted above.
929  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Merit for Crypto (and other) Knowledge (no guide threads) on: October 30, 2019, 03:27:57 AM
I no longer have time to maintain this thread on a consistent basis.

Please see this thread to have your posts seen by merit sources. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5093271.0

Has anyone else noticed that whenever Quickseller seems to speak as though he is familiar with the person at the centre of an accusation all he really does if fill three or four paragraphs with non-sence?  Roll Eyes

Have you noticed he is here from much long time and could have generated a good sort of judgement skills in identifying users here or faces behind a familiar accusation.

Afterall, he is one of the most prominent and active "protesters" here.

I don't think he fills the spaces with non-sense and he doesn't even control the Blazr's account, as QS would not have that stupid strategies of scamming BTC from an casino, he could have used the account in more harmful ways for sure.

...and yet he never saw Blazr scamming coming - did he? Ouch that gun-shot to the foot must have hurt...  Roll Eyes

The GPG keys he is signing with belong to the "real" blazr. That does not mean much though.

The admins are not going to be able to do very much in terms of checking if ownership changed or not because I understand that the "real" blazr was using tor for at least the last year.

Considering he was providing signed messages, I am not sure how much more clear I could have been.
931  Other / Meta / Re: [POLL] The Official Dirty Turds Poll - Which DT needs flushing first ??????????? on: October 30, 2019, 03:15:12 AM
Honestly you need to let this go. You have made your opinion clear, and it has been duly noted.

If you want to continue participating here, you should find something else to talk about. theymos doesn't like, and tries to avoid perma banning very senior, longstanding forum members, but you have been banned many times before, and that is the path you are leading yourself down. I don't personally want you perma banned, but I am being honest with you.

Look at how many open spots there are. This is the free market at work.
933  Other / Meta / Re: Merit source observations on: October 30, 2019, 03:06:44 AM
Update:

I don't know which day it happened but today, the forum has only 130 merit sources in total. One merit source was removed.
I believe it happened within last few days.
There are 130 merit sources with a total merit generation of up to 20895 sMerit per 30 days

I wonder if he ever used any of the many alts he has/had to scam anybody.
Thats a negative ghost rider.

I'm too lazy to check the feedback
Waking up at noon will do that to you.

936  Economy / Reputation / Re: Is Lauda still on DT? (taking requests for other users too!) on: October 18, 2019, 03:45:49 PM
(Okay, time to stop pretending that listening to Rammstein enables me to speak German. Back to being a vile vixen. Cheesy)
I happen to love Mein Teil but that's the only song I know by them.

Where the hell has Lauda been lately?  Seems like hilariousandco, Lauda, Quickseller, and probably a few other senior members have been much less active as of late.  I kinda miss reading some of their posts, and there's been a noticeable lack of drama in Meta for a while.  Very odd to see it this quiet.  Cryptohunter/TOAA haven't even been trolling as hard.  Did I miss something?

Ive been somewhat busy with IRL things.

I might participate in the 10 year contest announced by theymos yesterday.

I would not be surprised if Lauda is in jail, but I really don’t know. This is considering his tendencies to be corrupt and extort others.

Joe and Hunter Biden's Ukraine dealings didn't warrant investigation, ex-law enforcement official says

Quote
Ukraine’s former top law enforcement official told the Los Angeles Times he saw no reason to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden or his son Hunter, in a story published Sunday.

Yuri Lutsenko, the Ukraine ex-prosecutor general, said he told President Trump's attorney Rudy Giuliani they had not broken any Ukrainian laws to his knowledge. He said he would start a probe only after U.S. officials launched an investigation.

“I said, ‘Let’s put this through prosecutors, not through presidents,’” Lutsenko told The Times. “I told him I could not start an investigation just for the interests of an American official.”

Even if what Biden did was legal (I have serious doubts about this), it was horribly unethical and corrupt. His presidential campaign is going to end over it.

939  Other / Politics & Society / Re: "Drone Attack That Crippled Largest Saudi Oil Processing Facility" on: September 22, 2019, 01:10:02 AM
I prefer not to go to war, but the same was true during the very beginning of World War Two. WW2 could have been avoided with a fairly small military action against Germany. Instead, the war escalated into something that required millions of troops and resulted in millions of deaths.

A military action against Iran would show that further escalation will not go unpunished, and that further escalation will not result in sanctions being removed. The Saudis cannot beat Iran in a war cleanly by themselves so the US will need to at least play a role in any military action against Iran.
940  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Lobbying: protecting BTC from IRANIANS TXS ! Defend censorship resistance ! on: September 22, 2019, 01:01:09 AM
If they can determine that a particular person accepted bitcoin from Iran (or an associated entity), they could issue sanctions against the person to recover the equivalent amount they accepted.

In layman’s terms, this means that whatever exchange you use to convert the bitcoin to fiat will turn over the proceeds to the US government.

Regardless of the government confiscating the amount of money you receive, you should not do business with Iran. Doing so would likely further terrorism and would also help the Iran government operas their people. There should be no price that anyone should be willing to accept to further either.
