up until last month people were saying China controls bitcoin. price was rising.
then Chinese exchanges were under investigation price fell but it kept going up right after
then Chinese exchanges were shut down and price kept going up.
then with China out of the picture now it is time for US and their ETF nonsense. price still going up.
then ETF will fail/approve price falls and then right after it keeps going up.
in a couple of weeks it is again some other crap to make people occupied while price just keeps going up and whales accumulate.

That is a nice calculation and I might believe it.  what is there not to believe!! i don't see OP making any prediction about the future it is just a history of price and it is showing how bitcoin price has gone up in the past 8 years. something that was worth a couple of US cents is not worth 1200+ US dollar. and those of us who got in early are winners. some are winning more because they got in when it was 10 cents and some are winning less since they got in when price was $200. you have to decide which group you want to belong to in 10 years. |

Here everyone knows that the currently the price of the Bitcoin at the peak of the sky . But due to the increase of the price the price of less famouse altcoins are became down . So here is a better chance to buy some altcoins? What is your thoughts about this guy's ? Share your thoughts  most of the altcoins you see out there are going down, and it has nothing to do with bitcoin price, that is their nature to get dumped because they were pump and dump coins. but about some coins what you said is true, some of them have some good potential to rise and the dips these days can be a good chance to pick some cheap coins up before they bounce back up. but the important question is about which coins are good to buy now and which ones aren't. |

i voted for $1200-$1300 but in fact i would have wanted to vote for $1100-$1300.
the options below $1000 are obviously dumb. that is never going to happen. but ETF is getting hyped up too much, more than it deserves to. so because of it i am expecting some dump in case it wasn't approved and because of the current rise we may see some correction back to $1100 level (hence the bottom limit) but at the same time the rise will continue and specially if ETF is approved there will be some more solid rise (hence the upper limit).

i don't know about OP but if we wanted to use Coinbase and services like that we would have continued on using our banks. and that actually can save you a lot of pain in the ass! |

well this looks like a pump and the current price looks like a bubble to me, so i am going to say no it is not headed to $100 but try to take advantage of the pump and enjoy the money that you can earn in the process. |

one of the many great things about decentralization is that you can use whatever you want. if it is an altcoin like litecoin or if it is a completely random altcoin. and the rest of the world can choose to use bitcoin!
the thing about litecoin is that it is a copy of bitcoin with faster block generation nothing else! at least if it could activate segwit we could have said that litecoin is different but that has not happened yet.
and besides, litecoin is fast because it is not being used as much as bitcoin and nobody is spam attacking litecoin. most of the altcoins out there would die in half a day if the spam attack on bitcoin shifted there!

What do we think about this lads? Are we going to the moon?
we are rising and i hope we can never see moon in short term. the current slow rise is healthy and will stay and if we keep it up we can see good prices that never go down. I'm stoked. I don't really get why the price keeps rising, but i don't mind. It doesn't look like a spike like the previous ATH, its way more stable.
Are we finally getting more mainstream?
there are a couple of spikes there. but isn't it obvious? the price is always rising because of adoption and more demand. we are not yet at the mainstream level although there are some movements in that direction. |

Putting all my money on Monero(XMR) for now, it might take a while but I see it rising quickly when it does finally happen.
all my money, never. i will always prefer all my money to be in bitcoin as much and as long as i can. but about monero i have to say right now Dash and Zcash and ETH are the coins that are being pumped and for some reason i don't find XMR such a good investment right now. but in long term i definitely choose XMR over anything else. i am just waiting for a good entry price. |

Is now the time to buy altcoins or will they fall more before btc stops going up.
you haven't told us which altcoin yet. but since you ask generally i tell you generally too. when you want to buy an altcoin you should look for the bottom. right now they are being dumped and bitcoin is unstoppable in its rise which means more altcoin dump in general which then means the bottom has not reached yet. remember one thing though, pump and dumps happen randomly too which will defeat this rule above. |

the bitcoin ETF that is very close has got everybody so excited for the time being and i believe most of this price rise is because of that. but also lets not forget that the news of this ETF in the media has been bringing lots of attention to bitcoin and that means more investors which increase the demand and the price as a result.
and apart from this temporary ETF effect, bitcoin has always been pretty strong when it comes to price. there is a very strong and growing demand for it. and more people start to understand the scarcity of bitcoin.

There is also some downside on advertising in social medias. Specially in twitter there are many accounts with fake followers which doesn't make any difference or doesn't have any importance. Rather than getting some investors social media campaigns prior to ICO is good for creating early buzz. for all forms of advertising whether they are banner ads on bitcoin related website, signature campaigns or social medias,... there is always some downside. even when you post banners on the highways there is downside of people ignoring it. but what are you going to do! it is still a great way of getting the word out there and letting many people know about your whatever that is being advertised. |

Btc started to race followed by etherum and zcash today what's happening  , can anyone tell ,seems that only certain coins are pumped for btc it's ok we all know about 11 march, but what about ETH,Zec,Dash.....and also monero seems to be out of that pump. race? bitcoin price is still the same as it was yesterday with the same fluctuation as always. a bitcoin race would have been price going from $1180 to $1300 as far as ethereum goes, it has gone up to 0.0133 BTC because of some short term pumping and the USD value of it is showing more increase because of the bitcoin price. the same goes for ZCash, it is simply getting pumped. in the past days there has been so many dumps in these coins and all those drops and all those walls you say were being filled were from whales who are now pumping the coins to sell them on higher prices and get out. |

it seems like price is trying to go up and try to break the $1200 resistance again. and i wouldn't be surprised if that happened with all the talk that has been lately seen everywhere about the ETF there is lots of hype going around and a rise is what happens from these types of hype.

Bitcoin can solve many logistical problems as well and African Governments can use the Blockchain to get rid of bureaucracy and also save on massive govt expenditure that could be used to help build infrastructure projects for their countries. Also on a smaller scale Bitcoin can get to places where there is no banking at all and help the disenfranchised.
Just curious, How could bitcoin reach a place where banking things such as ATM, Bank, and etc aren't there?. I think that majority of people living in Africa struggling of having a good connection and therefore they need the cash in form of local fiat, not in bitcoin. If there's nothing like ATM, just curious how they can use the bitcoin ( keep in mind that the internet is not existed in every of Africa ) whenever i hear this kind of news and whenever i read a little about it, i find that it is mostly saying stuff. people may invest in bitcoin and for that they don't really need fast internet connection and they can even buy offline but that never solves Afria's problems. it is just some people who are earning profit through bitcoin. |

Thx for all replays , what i understood from this that if etf approved then altcoins may go down due to ppl selling alts they hold to buy btc , anyway march isn't so far thx all. that is true but don't count on it really! neither this nor the opposite you may wait for the drop in case of ETF approval or a rise in case of its failure but you will get disappointed many times before you realize there isn't really any relation between them. and people don't exactly "sell alt to buy bitcoin" that means paying fees 2, 3 times. they sell alt for bitcoin. |

well, when these coins give out so many coins for example in their blocks, as their new block reward or as their stacking reward to people who run a wallet, all these people dump these new coins they get as a reward on the market and create a big sell pressure. to be honest i am surprised some of these coins are still alive even.
that is why the supply and the way it is being distributed matters as far as price is concerned.
