I've taken a bit of chemistry in my life, but something that's always confused me has been the idea of empty space in an atom. I understand the layout of the atom and how its almost entirely "empty space". But when I think of "empty space" I think of air, which is obviously comprised of atoms. So is the empty space in an atom filled with smaller atoms? If I take it a step further, the truest "empty space" I know of is a vacuum. So is the empty space of an atom actually a vacuum?
One other interesting fact is an atom is made up of 90% " empty space " and everything in this universe is made up of " Atoms " You , Me, this computer screen, the keyboard everything is made up of " Atoms " and atoms are 90% "Empty Space" so the interesting thing is thing is that the computer screen you looking into is made up of 90% " empty space " , now try to explain me this BS. I find it funny when some (rare) vegetarians argues that eating meat is animal cruelty, but what's the difference between an animal and a plant? aren't they both living beings? for me if it is for the sake of eating then it is justified, nature was created in such a way that there are ecosystems and as such there are cycles on where things feed on other things, and the same goes for us human, when we die worms and plants feed on us and the cycle continues.

- Plants feel no pain, they have no consciousness, they have no nervous system, they don't feel emotion.
- Let's say they did feel pain, it would then be wrong to eat an animal that ate a lot more plants in its entire life as 80% of all agricultural plants are used to raise animals to be eaten.
I think this one is the strongest argument of all but it makes the most sense when combined with the others: - You don't even kill most plants by eating the vegetable or fruits they produce. If you eat an apple, kale leaf, broccoli, orange, tomato, potato, or most other fruits and vegetables, you only eat a part of the whole, the main plant is still alive and continues to grow and produce more for you next harvest.

It's also possible that a state power will seek to "beat" Mars 1 to be the first to land a human being on Mars. So in a way this could cause a very positive new space race to Mars. I could see China, Russia, the EU, or the US doing this.
I guess then they'd have to change the name to Mars 2.
Like I said, there is nothing to beat here, Mars one is not building a space craft, they don't have the means or the necessary means and competence right now, Unless I missed something that isn't mentioned in their website, if just more or less a study and R&D nothing more nothing less.... A Mars project would require a Space Agency if not the collaboration of different of space, agencies an significant increase in budgets and a minimum of 10 years of development and preparation if Mars becomes a serious objectif |
