let's play "spot the difference" again...

site and FAQ have both been updated.
942  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: [BitcoinMax.com] Paying 6.9% per week... Small accounts welcome. on: July 26, 2012, 03:54:59 AM
Likewise....  I was not complaining at all.  Your service is second to none payb.tc!

thanks!

i'm sure such a thing would be optional anyway... i don't plan to retire the bitcoinmax website any time soon Cheesy

Well done. BTC-e.com down. Gratz. Roll Eyes

DDoS?

it's back

busy sleeping.

there's no way i could guarantee withdrawals within an hour because i can't be awake 24/7.

the database is fully backed up regularly.

there have been a lot more withdrawals than usual lately. i don't really know an exact reason for this, but that's also why some requests are taking longer than before.

Mine received, many thanks, I didn't mean that you'd guarantee within 1 hour, but if it was within your daylight window & happened to be processed with an hour I think that ppl would be happy to tip you a 0.1% fee if it went through that fast

currently withdrawals are done in order of timestamp (with a bit of human judgement thrown in too*), i guess i could charge for 'priority' service where those ones would always get filled first before any others.

*if my balance is 30 btc and there are 2 requests, 90 and 10, i might pay the 10 first even if the request came in after the 90.

For me personally, it's the Bitcoinica and Intersango issues giving me cold feet, more so than Pirate.

withdrawals have all been cleared now.

947  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcrate resurrected! Free Bitcoins everyday on: July 25, 2012, 12:58:58 PM
pro tip:

if you want to get the full benefit out of these types of tiny payments, generate a list of addresses that are not in your main wallet, and let any payments from bitcrate, coinad, dailybitcoins, etc go into this secondary wallet and just sit there untouched for at least a month before spending them. it's especially beneficial with tiny transactions to let them 'age' before spending them so you're more likely to get the full benefit of them without re-spending the same amount on outgoing tx fees.
948  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: [BitcoinMax.com] Paying 6.9% per week... Small accounts welcome. on: July 25, 2012, 12:39:50 PM
it seems some competitors are offering 'direct sub-accounts' in bitcoin savings and trust.

i just want to be clear in saying that the *only* reason i haven't offered that yet is because doing so would still be vapour-ware at this point.

once i see the new BST site for myself and have a clear understanding of it's setup, then i will make an announcement regarding direct access between my lenders and BST.

thanks.

and HAHA. was he leeching the logo?

yes, but apparently forgot to leech (or even include anywhere) the CSS files.

times new roman everywhere!

heh, nice logo image on that site:

thank goodness I only gave away 0.3 BTC to the guy.

i think you almost doubled his income.
951  Economy / Auctions / Re: Liteco.in domain on: July 25, 2012, 12:30:47 AM
good bidding... still sounds like a fair price.

hmm... to bid or not to bid, that is the question.
952  Other / Archival / Re: deleted on: July 24, 2012, 11:52:40 PM
I oppose these suggestions of using the law to stop BCX, especially arresting her. Are we going to cry to daddy every time someone doesn't play fair? What does that say about cryptocoin security, or its viability as a replacement for government-run currencies? Would you rather wait until the banks come after us and the cops are on their side?

As for DDoSing pools, GREAT! Stop using big pools already!

This is a free market, bitches. Either pay for your own security or make room for someone who does. If I were a Litecoin holder, I would start a fundraiser to send really high transaction fees this weekend.

i am a holder of LTC and like the currency, but i am looking forward to this 'test'.
953  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC under attack? on: July 24, 2012, 07:15:43 AM
@Everybody

LTC isn't under attack, just the pools.

If I were a guessing person, I would suspect someone is hitting the pools to drop the difficulty and then come online with about 80 gigs and a huge botnet they haven't mined with in about 6 months. I don't think you would have to worry about a 51% attack either as that would be very detrimental to the chain and basically ruin any chance of making a killing at a future date.

Of course all of this just conjecture but expect to see a massive spike in network hash power when the DDoS ends.

 Grin Grin Grin

~BCX~

So, are you behind the attacks or not?

i'm pretty certain BCX's above post was pure sarcasm.

i read it as an admission of current involvement, and an outline of his plans going forward.

954  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: [BitcoinMax.com] Paying 6.9% per week... Small accounts welcome. on: July 24, 2012, 06:33:58 AM
It works on another browser; strange even though I refreshed in chrome it would not work, but switching browsers worked.

Thanks!

Anyone else getting this when trying to login?

"An Error Was Encountered

The action you have requested is not allowed."

Thanks in advance for your input.

that seems to be a codeigniter (php framework that the site was built on) thing... basically it's a protection built in to the form and means you've probably left the login form sitting there for too long (2 hours?) before hitting submit.

just refresh the page first (which will cause the background code to generate a new 'cross site request forgery' key) and it should work fine after that.

i'm pretty sure if you closed that chrome tab/window and reopened it, it'd work fine for you in chrome too... after all, that's what browser i use exclusively for development and testing Cheesy

i'm sure this is worth at least $200 so i might as well get it over with...

$200

mainly i'd just want to keep the forum there, and as others have suggested, host other ltc-related sites using subdomains.

p.s. i'm kinda glad i had that appointment offline this week... it was good to force me to come up with that automated payout script Cheesy
958  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: [BitcoinMax.com] Paying 6.9% per week... Small accounts welcome. on: July 24, 2012, 04:47:14 AM
thanks everyone for another smooth week... this job is a lot easier with the friendly bunch i have as lenders.

if any new lender (in the past 1 or 2 days) is still waiting for a login, please PM me again, although i think i'm up-to-date with account creation.

cheers.
959  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin 500 richest addresses, updated often. on: July 24, 2012, 01:11:25 AM
I wonder how many people fired up vanitygen trying to find the keys for that one large address?  I know it would take millions of years, but you never know, you might get lucky.

I think very few people are trying to do that.

I have to believe that most people involved with bitcoin are neither thieves nor stupid.

Vanitygen doesn't support full addresses anyway.

really? what's the longest string you can search for, if not 34?
960  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: [BitcoinMax.com] Paying 6.9% per week... Small accounts welcome. on: July 23, 2012, 11:15:48 PM

EDIT: payment received Wink thanks payb.tc and pirate

J**** Ch**** it actually worked!

nice to come back and see that it didn't send millions of extra bitcoins to everyone.
