Yes not much more complicated than that, but I would upgrade the R1 with CrazyGuy's firmware first.
Cool, I'll play around with it tonight. I got my R1 from CrazyGuy to use when I had a U3 and I recently updated it with his current release. Thanks! I guess figuring out how to set the compac frequency greater than 250 (max in CG's firmware) will be the trick here.

Today looks like its going to be another record breaking day. Currently we are at +40%, so with the +20% increase last week this is major hashpower.
It's like an accelerated Moore's law, we're seeing the network grow at an unprecedented rate, it's amazing to watch. Would be cool to figure out how many new machines are being turned on around the world each minute.

Does anyone have a link to using the Bitmain R1 as a controller for these sticks? Is it as simple as just plug the sticks' hub into the R1? Any info provided would be great. I'm sure it's here somewhere, but searching didn't turn up anything and I don't have time to dig through pages and pages of threads.

Not sure if this is correct, but here's a link to 4.9.0 for S5: http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer/antminer/s5/There's a more thorough update for the S1 and S3, but I can't find a similar link for S5, so hopefully someone who knows more can chime in about the link I posted above.

What's everyone planning on doing with their sticks that were dedicated to the solo club? Kinda curious. I'm going solo!
I'm going to leave mine mining for Phil until whenever I restart my computer again, and then I'll probably point them to kano.is to dust mine or just solo lottery them (although solo lottery with ~26GH isn't very likely to hit, so probably just dust mine).

Question - Usually how many block confirm + before we see it in the rewards tab? It seems random, sometimes I see it on the rewards tab after 2, 3, 4 or 5+ confirmations.
I could be wrong, but I don't think it shows up based on confirmations, I think it just takes time for the reward page to populate data.

Yes I have the same question but in a different point. If we surpass 100 posts during the week and make for example 150 post during the week, are these 50 posts roll over to next week or we start from zero Posts don't roll over. Max pay per week is 0.05 bitcoins. If you do 1000 posys in one week you still only get paid 0.05 bitcoins & you still start the next period with 0 posts. No, I was asking the other way, if my 16 posts (<20) carry over to this week. I'm pretty sure they do, just can find confirmation in the thread.

No wonder it's so hot outside right now, it's the heat from all the miners being turned on around the world! 200G difficulty here we come!
We should start a thread where everyone buys in and guesses the difficulty at the halving, closest without going over wins the pot.

Anyone leaving sticks on the club btc address will be giving me a gift as of Feb 12th.
I'll be leaving mine pointed to the club for a while, until whenever the next time I need to restart my computer is or if you stop mining to it first. http://solo.ckpool.org/workers/1JiWuyX94wrCr7JhkAn7x5qNMCEef1KhqX.Jan11mikestangstick{"hashrate1m": "24.6G", "hashrate5m": "24.7G", "hashrate1hr": "23.8G", "hashrate1d": "25.3G", "hashrate7d": "26.4G", "lastupdate": 1455155674, "shares": 16367814, "bestshare": 2936702.6111035105, "bestever": 179524550} Would be karmatic if the club hit one for you after the 11th. Thanks, Phil.

Awesome thepinkanator95 - with ~2THs! Well done, I haven't seen a block solved with that little hash for some time now. thepinkanator95, what is that, like 2 S5's?

25$ is expensive Guys do you have idea where can i buy a cheap avalon miner or what is better for avalon? So wait, $25 is expensive but you want to buy a "cheap avalon"? If you can't afford a usb stick miner you can't afford an avalon since they cost 100x more. Almost nothing is profitable any more for the individual, and everything costs money. Buy yourself a usb stick to play with, don't worry about ROI because it doesn't exist.

My kano.is miners failed over briefly. Main cksolo was down, too, so they failed over to german solo, but now all appears to be back to normal operations.
Block on!

Spend $25 and get a gekko compac stick usb miner. CPU mining has been dead for years and none of the current gen mining software (e.g. cgminer) supports it. Anything you learn from cpu mining won't really carry over to asics. So do yourself a favor and if you want to learn, start small with a usb stick.

How long did you have it running before you hit 44756831208 ?
Off and on almost a year (it was off most of the summer). That 44G share came just over this past weekend, wish it could have happened sooner!

I was out of town for 5 days, sorry for only 16 posts. I forgot, do the posts roll over to the next week? It doesn't say in the first post. Thanks.

Due to the recent heat wave here in southern California I've shut off my S3+ solo lottery machine. Although looking at the 144G difficulty and seeing that it will probably jump another 20% this adjustment I may end up leaving it off until the halving and see what happens then. I think it will be a long time before we see another solo block, sadly. It's a shame, too, because just the other day I got my best share ever (44G, not too shabby for a single S3+) that would have been a block solve like 8 months ago: {"hashrate1m": "0", "hashrate5m": "0", "hashrate1hr": "10.2M", "hashrate1d": "307G", "hashrate7d": "410G", "lastupdate": 1455041069, "shares": 179923882, "bestshare": 22299525.791939955, "bestever": 44756831208}

Whatever the reason, 20% plus difficulty jumps and sub-$380 BTC prices make me a sad panda. I was also expecting a slow down for Lunar New Year, but it's like difficulty is on a one way rocket ride to the moon...

Does it mean you encourage withdrawing large amount of bitcoin. That fee structure is good for rich people.
I would hardly call 1BTC being "rich". It's a bit high if dust transactions were really the concern, like 0.2 and up would be better for that, but 1BTC isn't unreasonable. Hey, at least they still offer free tx at all!

but I won't do the club for a while. I need to take a break for some time.
No problem, thanks for donating all the time you do to keep it going. I'll probably just leave my sticks mining to the club address anyway. Unless you want us to specifically not mine to it when the club isn't running.
