941  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for September on: September 03, 2023, 01:06:27 PM
I voted on the sideways movement and the reasons are;
 - High inflation causes the demand to keep on changing high and low
 - market performance last month where people are doubtful to buy more and waiting for the dip

I can say that this 3rd quarter of the year 2023 is still in the correction phase. It is still expected to keep the situation the same as last month until such time that panic selling is over.
942  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you expect better, but then impulsively jump into things due to FOMO? on: September 01, 2023, 08:52:54 PM
Hey all, I am new here: I've been reading a lot, and not posting much at first. You have a great place to learn at BCT. When trading crypto do you expect better, from yourself, but then impulsively jump into things due to FOMO? Has anyone reading this ever found a cure? How do you permanently change and naturally be patient? Thanks all.
Honestly, it was hard to control our emotions, you can't do it instantly. But what I did is that I'll take trading seriously I need to be more cautious with my actions and the market response, it gradually changes until such time that I totally control my emotions. However, this would not give us assurance that we never fall into wrong decisions and make loss of money because whether we like it or not, this thing is going to happen to us. Which is why we don't leave confident and ready for the consequences.
943  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: History of Gambling From Ancient Times to the Digital Age on: September 01, 2023, 08:15:19 PM

I think there's still a part of the world that has known about gambling for many years and uses other valuables stuffs not necessarily money but also others like precious stones or even animals like sheep or goats.
Maybe, but I don't think so as we are already in a new era and gambling innovations.
Well, we can say that ancient people were innovative enough about how they started gambling before but seem to know that new technology has become more advantageous. It is to know that gambling these days is not just for fun but for money and many people got addicted to this unlike before and why? It is because it is easy for us now to gamble, in fact, we can do it in our homes as online gambling is available which is quite to say that we are given the chance to gamble anytime and anywhere unlike before.
944  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: About Altcoins Investment Experience on: September 01, 2023, 07:51:19 PM
There are some good altcoins to be fair but they are rare and eventually, you will gonna land some of the shitcoins if you keep the traditional way of investing in them where you just blindly follow promoters on Youtube and other social media. The best thing to do when you don't seem to find the right altcoin to invest your money with, it's better to be safe and put your money in bitcoins while waiting, you are guaranteed not to lose your capital and have some opportunity to increase or up double the amount of your capital.
But if we are just investing in Ethereum among altcoins (aside from having Bitcoin), I believe we are safe. The most important thing that must do is that we are able to know how to hold because it doesn't matter if we are holding BTC or ETH if we are impatient as certainly, we lose in the end. The winning strategy in crypto investment is to choose the right coins and be able to sell them at the right time. But very unfortunate that many investors are weak and easily panic upon hearing FUDs and when seeing price correction.
945  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 - Betting and Discussions on: September 01, 2023, 04:05:42 PM
I wonder what France look like if Wembanyama played. The Spurs decided to excuse him from the national team for further development. But he and Gobert will have their chance to team up and get back their glory in the 2024 Paris Olympics. That will be the biggest basketball event and at the same time, their nation is the host. Should be fun to watch.

They will undoubtedly improve, especially considering that Wembanyama is continually training. Once he represents his country, his skills will likely see significant growth. Being the number one overall pick, he's in a different league compared to Gobert, who was a first-round pick at 27th overall in 2013. I anticipate a major improvement from him. Perhaps France will make a strong comeback in the future. I'm eagerly looking forward to seeing how Wemby performs in the upcoming regular season, and I hope he won't disappoint us.

There's certainly a lot of hype surrounding Wemby, and while he's demonstrated his abilities in international games, he has yet to prove himself in the NBA. However, if he evolves into a true superstar similar to Luka, there's no doubt he will also excel in international competitions like the FIBA World Cup. Take Luka, for example; he's currently leading Slovenia to a perfect record of 3 wins and 0 losses in the first stage, and his NBA experience has undoubtedly been instrumental in their recent success.

Indeed, if he evolves and manages to reach that expectation, he will earn that hype, like what you said set Luka as an example
and if Wemby will also manage to do the same thing,

We may see more hypes in his NBA career, for now, we can't conclude as we are not seeing him playing yet against the stars of stars of NBA.

He will be tested once he faces well-known super teams and if how he will handle the game giving his impressive numbers if possible.

I believe that as long as he maintains his health, his journey in the NBA will continue to improve. The primary weakness I see in him currently is his body size; he appears quite thin compared to the big men in the NBA. However, with more focused physical training, he has the potential to build muscle and become stronger. I'm confident that his team will work to ensure that this physical development doesn't make him injury-prone.

However, if he was allowed to play, would it change the fate of France?
946  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lessons Taken from Previous Bull Markets: How Will Your Approach Change? on: September 01, 2023, 02:00:14 PM
What I can say about this is stop panicking whenever the price of bitcoins decreases so much in the time before bull runs because that's the traditional way before the bull runs start and you won't get any chance to buy again because, after that, the price will continue to rise until it reaches a new ATH. Whatever happens, just focus on your goal to achieve and ripe as much income as this upcoming bull run just be patient and persevere on everything.

This is really the best example, it is kind of like you missed the train because you jumped off early as you panicked because of the dumps. The biggest lesson really is to control yourself so that you won't regret later on because this tends to make you decide to sell, even if it is just a small dump, and when you sell it, you'll regret it because it goes to its peak and again you can't buy anymore as it is too high, and if it goes down, it is still not that affordable on the first day you purchased it.
Just to expect that we are certainly experiencing highs and lows due to the volatility of the market. And it is not quite hard to understand but can't say we all can take it. Some people are weak enough to keep themselves from accepting the sudden drop in price and then start to panic. Until we don't understand how the volatility works, we can still see many people have uploaded their coins at the wrong time.
What we are going to do is to change our behavior and go along the market trend, not against otherwise, it was stressful.
947  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 01, 2023, 01:07:56 PM

But at least he find another home in Sacramento Kings and for sure as you have said, he could help Sabonis hone his skills as a center and not over commit and make that useless fouls that might cost them some games if Sabonis will fouled out or at least have a lot of fouls that the opposing team might take advantage.

That's a positive move for him; they needed a defensive big man, and he makes an excellent backup center for Sabonis. While Javale might not pose a significant offensive threat, he's valuable defensively due to his length and athleticism. I'm genuinely pleased for him; he's not losing his job, even if the contract he's receiving now isn't as substantial as what he received in the past. Moreover, I believe he's a team player, having played for various teams during his career.

Correct, he had significant contributions to the team that had him before, Warriors, Lakers Sunns and Dallas. Maybe it was just a one year offer, but he did his best with that team.

And he could be consider as a role player, but he did do his part because defensively, he can block sides and he is athletic, can dunk the ball and grab rebounds. So I do agree that coach Brown saw something in McGee that can elevate the Kings play next season.

Perhaps he's their lucky charm, given that Javale McGee has already clinched three championships: two with the Warriors and one with the Lakers. For a team like the Kings, who are still relatively young and had a taste of success last season, the addition of a veteran presence like McGee could be invaluable.

While I wouldn't expect substantial contributions from McGee, his hard work on the court could indeed ignite energy within the entire team.
948  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: September 01, 2023, 12:35:11 PM
Are we going to see Abando here getting more minutes?

It's important to include Abando, as he brings valuable energy to the team, which is essential against South Sudan's taller roster. While this might not be the most captivating matchup, it's still a game that holds significance. Our brand of basketball is on the line here, considering our team comprises NBA player, PBA players, and overseas-based imports, collectively representing the best in the Philippines. Sustaining a string of losses isn't something we can afford given the lineup's caliber.

I'm uncertain whether I'll place a bet on the Philippines or simply watch the game without any wagers, opting to enjoy it instead.

Maybe I'll just take the right timing in live betting, I don't know.  Smiley

I don't know if you managed to place your bet, but it's sad to see that the Olympic hope is already over, after losing to South Sudan there's no bearing now even if Gilas will win their last game against China, the last spot for Asian country is already over for Gilas. I did not watch the game just check the final score and with the outcome it only shows that the offensive side of Gilas did not go well, Clarkson and Ramos have 24 and 20 points while the rest of the team only score a combined of 24.

Oh well, that's all with the effort to try moving forward, but the tournament dictates and concludes that even we host the games not mean that we have the advantages.

They suffered their most significant loss in the tournament, falling by 19 points. It appears that they might have lost their composure after three consecutive losses. Their game plan doesn't seem to be consistently effective throughout each quarter. There are moments of meltdown where they allow their opponents to outscore them, and their hustle dwindles, resulting in less impressive shooting performances.

Anyway, China vs Philippines tomorrow and it's surprising that Philippines is the favorites.

Philippines 1.68 vs China 2.19.
949  Economy / Economics / Re: Is market manipulation a common occurrence everywhere? on: September 01, 2023, 10:28:05 AM
Manipulation is a winning strategy that these rich businessmen, politicians, and those who are in the government position. But why does this thing exist? It is because they believe that once you have the power to manipulate something like the market price, people's thinking, and in the crypto space. They are on top of others and seem to become respected by those on the low level of society.

We can't escape from the said manipulation because it was habitual already and the next, next generation will be even worse than today.
950  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When to invest in bitcoin on: August 31, 2023, 10:13:33 PM
Getting to wait for when price drops before buying is entirely a vey wrong approach  to holding and I think the DCA method has been one of the most accepted  and preached method of holding and you should always buy at every instance you get an opportunity  to buy rather than waiting for a particular  time to buy because it might shock you and rather than dropping  to your expectations, it rises without going down and I believe  that there where people who had the money to buy bitcoin  when it fell to 17k but rather wanted to wait for it to fall more but it disappointed them and now its way above 17k and those set of persons already missed all the opportunities that came with buying  at that price of 17k.
Many people thought that once the market was in decline it would dump badly which drove them to wait for the dip. Unfortunately, it was a big mistake and a reason why many people missed the chance to buy low.
In the current situation, I'd never think we're going to the dip anymore as we have started to gain back the buying demand pushing the price to recover. And those who are thinking about buying $17k have just wasted their time and missed the opportunity too as it never be going back that low. If we really have the plan to invest, at least buying at the current price is definitely the right move.
951  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Only good coins are listed on top exchange? on: August 31, 2023, 09:35:43 PM
No way Roll Eyes
The listing fees of the best exchanges are huge, so any project can be listed for money and it is not the best coin for that.
Moreover one should not rush to invest after seeing the listing on a good exchange because the development of the project will be more dependent on an investor.

There are many coins that get delisted from good exchanges because their volume decreases and investors decrease, the main reason being poor development progress.
I was thinking that these big exchanges are not just asking for huge fees but are only listing legit projects or those projects that show a massive impact in the crypto space. We know that it is a business, they can't bring on the table without a return so they will delist projects that don't give them profit as well. This is to note for the developers that they would not be confident enough because they are listed on top exchanges. It was still an obligation to keep their project moving in order to gain more demand and interest.
952  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading not for everyone! on: August 31, 2023, 01:09:09 PM
Obviously trading is not for everyone, even if you have all the skills to trade and make profit there are some other important skills that you need to have in order to be on the profit side on a long run in trading, even if you know how to read the chat and enter the market and exit successfully yet. You don't have patience. You will not be successful in Trading. Even if you are an expert Trader and you don't know risk management, you will lose on the long run. That is the reason it is said that trading is not for everyone because it is more emotionally attached than experience.

- You can never make everything possible and earn consistently but for sure, you will also suffer losses
 - You can never call yourself an expert if you don't know risk management - that was a self-proclaimed.

I believe in destiny and so why Trading is not for everyone - It is because not all are destined to become a trader. It is necessary to assess ourselves whether if we can do trading in the right way or not, and we don't need to pressure ourselves knowing that we can't make it as it was a suicidal move.
953  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoins that you will be hold till next Bull Run on: August 31, 2023, 12:32:15 PM
I see a lot of potential cryptocurrencies at these times to be honest. And one more thing, I don't believe what is happening in the market right now in the crypto field is disappointing. Maybe for those who don't know much about crypto, this might be disappointing, but for people like me, it's not even an opportunity to buy cheap altcoins. And maybe others can agree with me on this.

So it is very true that those who have extra money or those in the middle class are the winners here because their future savings are sure to be secured. Those who invest in Bitcoin or cryptocurrency are sure of that as long as their crypto is right and bought.
Perhaps, investing is just like preparing for the future, not for tomorrow. Disappointments are just for those who certainly don't have any idea what the volatility looks like. Like in the current situation of the market today, panic and worries are at the heart of many individuals but those experienced investors know better and even think that there is a great opportunity when the market is in the correction. While some are selling off their coins, whales are also buying their coins, and in the end, whales are still the winners of the game.
954  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: August 31, 2023, 10:48:43 AM
Mike Tyson said that he thinks Francis Ngannou is going to give Tyson Fury a good fight, and he even gave him few tips how to fight against Fury.
I dont know who else is going to train and prepare Ngannou for this fight but this is going to be big boost to have Iron Mike in his corner.
I think most he can do is to win few rounds, but he is entering dangerous uncharted waters with boxing.
If rematch fight would happen in MMA that could easily be highest paying MMA fight in history.

Mike Tyson is experienced and knows basically what's coming in for the big fight. He has his favorite fighter and would be able to prepared him for the forthcoming challenge. Francis Ngannou is competent to face Tyson Fury, his punches are equivalent to 96 horsepower, or even more than. We shouldn't underestimate the fighter who's keen on breaking more records before the very sights of Mike Tyson. His opponent, Tyson Fury is also tough and definitely the fight is going be challenging and difficult to predict the winner. On the othe hand, Fury have higher probabilities of stepping out of the ring a winner.
Can we compare the punching power of Ngannou to Wilder? I believe both are power punchers; Wilder, for instance, has a 100% KO ratio when he faced Fury. However, Fury completely dominated him and dismantled what he had accomplished in boxing. This situation illustrates that relying solely on power might not be sufficient. I understand why experts think Ngannou has a slim chance of winning against Fury. The latter is a master of his game, and it's important to remember that we are discussing boxing—Fury's familiar territory.
955  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: If you must follow or use the services of trading signals providers on: August 31, 2023, 09:22:37 AM
If you must follow or use the services of trading signals which is not bad in itself you should do so smartly. By smartly, I mean that at the beginning it is all about following and understanding the thinking process behind those signals and learning everyday. If you insist on using them, do not do so blindly, validate each signal provider by putting in the work. Record their past four to six months' trades on a spreadsheet and check them on historical charts. After you have done this, you may now proceed to choosing the ones consistently in profit despite their losing trades. The advantage is that they will help you reduce your time spent in analysis. This is one of the best ways to make  use of or follow trading signals channels or services. What is your opinion?
Besides, following the signal is not a smart way either. Why I should have to spend time checking on their spreadsheet, instead I use my time to study the market and do actual trading which I think was the most ideal thing to do. Well, I don't say that signals are useless since it was good for beginners but for us who already have an experience, I don't think we need to try it. In fact, we already know that it never be effective in the long run and most of all, we can't just rely on them forever but have to stand alone.
956  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Oguni - October 12 on: August 31, 2023, 08:07:46 AM
It is very interesting how far Inoue will get though, he mentioned something like 130 lbs, so not sure if he can go up at 135 lbs as he might lose every advantage he had, like speed and power and timing.

Maybe there is some incentives for him to stay and fight guys like Nery, Casimero and clean up the division. But the problem is that if you have all the belts in one division, each and every governing body will have to fight their mandatories and it's going to be hard for that. So once he unify, it's either he has to follow the mandatory of at least one of the belts he hold, or drop some of it and just retain what he wanted. Just like the approach of 140 lbs unified champion in Josh Taylor.

His promoter, Bob, believes that Inoue is better than Pacquiao. Therefore, they might be considering breaking Pacman's achievements to reinforce their claim. I have no doubts about Inoue's ascent, but ideally, before that happens, he should have the opportunity to face Casimero in a championship fight, with Casimero as the challenger.
957  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has Bitcoin Helped Create Big Changes In Your Life? on: August 30, 2023, 09:50:24 PM

It is somewhat the case that people tend to have a sure profit for Bitcoin in the upcoming 2-3 years, which is why they are investing in it for the long term. We know that people who don't have patience will not work on this, only those who understand that we need to hold it for a longer period of time so that we can gain profit. Bitcoin really attracts those investors because of its high price and how volatile it is; it can reach its ATH in no time. That is why investors liked the risk, even though the risk of losing your money is also high.
It was too risky indeed but people didn't focus on it instead, they looked at how much they get in the future.
We can say that many people were encouraged to come because they saw that many lives had changed through investing in Bitcoin and they are taking their steps hoping that they could change their living as well despite the risk. In fact, we can't change our lives if we remain in our comfort zone which is why we have to do this and take the risk.
Well, for me, I couldn't say that I really improved but I gained a lot of learnings which I treasured the most.
958  Economy / Speculation / Re: take advantage of opportunities on: August 30, 2023, 09:23:01 PM
For a few days now, I have noticed that the price of Bitcoin is still struggling to break between 26k$-27$, even falling below 26k$, so for me, those who save Bitcoin there should take advantage of the opportunity like of this to buy and even to other altcoins that have potential in the future as well.
It's still at $27K right now although it was briefly at $28K yesterday and today's price is actually a winning price for those who have bought under $26K in bulk. Since Bitcoin will still increase and head towards $30K again this year, so using money at a moment like now to buy more is still a very good option for everyone before the next increase occurs in the market.

Quote
This is just the cycle of the system in the crypto business, buy in the deep then sell high it's that simple to understand, as long as you do it don't stop learning about it in the field you entered.
Such a cycle is a cycle that occurs very often in the economy, both globally and in local economies. And it's very easy for everyone to understand, but not everyone is also able to do it very well because sometimes there are some people who are still hindered by the amount of capital or hindered by their desire to start.
Might not be the perfect time to buy because we've missed the $26k but still, if we think about earning the future during the bull season, buying now is really a great idea. In fact, for me, I don't really think if I buy Bitcoin at $30k but what is in my mind is thinking about how much it will be when Bullrun comes, it is probably more than $30k and even doubling the price today. As long as it was our spare money or it was intended for investment, we don't need to wait for the price of Bitcoin to roll down $20k as it is quite impossible.
959  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 - Betting and Discussions on: August 30, 2023, 01:51:31 PM
Currently watching Slovenia vs. Cape Verde. Luka Doncic and his team need to win in order to secure the top spot but it seems like they are getting tough opposition by Cape Verde. Luka is only 2 of 11 but I assume that they will start to figure it out here and will take the win.
Slovenia is currently leading by 12 points, and based on their performance so far, it seems likely that they will secure the win.

They won the game 92-77, with Luka still being the top contributor with 19 points. What was the spread before the game? I missed this game; I could have bet on Slovenia to cover the spread as I believed they were the favorites to win.

Games that are still ongoing now;

China vs Puerto Rico
Iran vs Spain
Greece vs New Zealand

While we are busy with FIBA lately, seems like we are losing one of NorthPort's superstars to Japan B League. Reports have it that Robert Bolick is in Japan right now and a team in Japan, particularly the Fukushima Firebonds are busy entertaining him as they are interested of his services per report of Homer Sayson of Spin.Ph.

Quote
COLUMN: Robert Bolick gets royal treatment in Japan B.League

I initially thought he would be traded to SMB (San Miguel Beermen), but it's a wise decision on his part to explore opportunities abroad. Staying in the PBA might not make sense when the salaries are considerably lower compared to the offers in leagues like the B League. This seems to be a growing trend, and it's advantageous for our national team as players tend to develop more when playing overseas. The only challenge might be reestablishing team chemistry when they return to play for the country, but that's something that can be addressed.

Shifting topics, there's also been talk about Coach Chot's outfit being expensive.

His top is a four-bar suit jacket priced at $2,309 (around ₱129,000), his four-bar trouser costs $1,130 (around ₱63,000), and his cotton placket shirt is worth $435 (around ₱24,000). This is according to the official Thom Browne website.

It seems like everyone has an opinion about him, and they're quick to express their thoughts.
