Hi Guys,

What about the articles, press releases the community had paid for? As far as I know there was only one published so far..

NEWS

The last chance to claim unclaimed coins is over.

We have ~13M coins left and they'll be spent for rewards, bounties and development. Now we are running a reward program. I ask the community to post here links (with short description and link to BTT profile) to projects/persons that helped to promote Nxt. Only projects launched before the 3rd of Jan can apply. There will be several categories, BCNext will choose 3 best participants from each category. I'll contact project owners via BTT personal message to get Nxt account ids for reward payments. The 1st place will receive 50'000, 2nd - 30'000 and 3rd - 20'000 NXT.

There are several projects and software coding plans that are asking for a bounty to support their effort. In addition to the announced video-article-whitepaper bounties I managed to award and pay several unexpected coming to desk contributions from our bounty pool. I also created the big-promotion-based-giveaway supplied by our pool (215K) that I then klee and now probably Anon136 are carrying on.
As of yesterday I assigned 48K from our pool for code review and the last 100K I ll use paying for media coverage.

All of these I said to tell you BCNext, that you can find a lot of these legitimate projects waiting for bounties. 13M is so much of a fund and it can be used to supply the whole purposes of a future Nxt foundation. Please do not distribute it in the childish-contest form of Mastercoin project.
Define projects and place bounties for, or find interesting bounty claims and supply them. This will push things ahead more constructively.
Thank you.

As an expeienced project manager I am offering my service in managing some of the upcoming projects. Smiley

IRL promotion of Nxt

There will be a Bitcoin Conference in February held in Berlin.

http://www.mediabistro.com/insidebitcoins/

I am not from Berlin, but would love to represent Nxt on this venue. I decided to take 3 days off and fly over to Germany and use the opportunity to spread the word, let others know about Nxt and itīs features.
I am sure that we all will benefit from having someone around at a venue like this. I am asking the community to support these efforts by donating to help fund the journey and the purchase of marketing materials like T-Shirts & pendrives with Nxt logo/slogan on them, printing some cool Nxt bills, and so on.

I will document all the expenses and will make the spending of the fund transparent. I will also broadcast from the venue and post some pictures

I received donations from a few persons so far... I am asking community members, escpeially with big stakes to support this and help with funds AND ideas how to make Germany aware of Nxt. Even a couple of hundred Nxts will help.

11433600460445633305

Thank you!

There are conferences like this all around the world. A fund to cover ticket price would be great for people promoting Nxt. I think there will be better ideas, but if not, we could start a pot for this.

DGEX sent my first exchange withdrawal to an incorrect NXT address.  They were supposed to send to 12510982507347853737 (where they did send one withdrawal) but instead sent to 125109250734753737.  The second address is empty in blockchain explorer except for my transaction so I'm guessing it is unused.  Is there any way to get my NXT out of that account?
There is no way to get your nxt out of that account unless you know the pass-phrase of that account to access it.
You best bet is to contact DGEX and ask if they can compensate you as it's their mistake.

Perhaps this is why he is missing 800k Nxt.

Lol

Is there anything a normal end user can see of Transparent Mining? Does it has any visible benefits? How can I see if it was really implemented? Thank you for your help guys!

True, color blind people confuse color, simple remedy is to add some simple text next to or on the color.

Not sure this will help... If u looked at a red icon but saw it as a green one, would u read the text? I wouldn't.

I think that using symbols instead of text would be better though.

Don't worry FreaktionLess I have hired some of the best developers (who happen to be my friends too) to make this brilliant innovative algorithm into a real software project (along of course with Jean-Luc who is the leader dev atm).

See you around I hope to review their code too Wink

Glad to read that! When do they get on board and who is paying for them?

I've had enough friction for today.  Sad

He's just so... so angry.

Dgex is slow as hell to release funds, but they will be fast as hell to take a huge cut.

http://www.nxtchg.com

Dgex alternative

Deposited some to allow liquidity.

Peercover/ripple

NXT, BTC, LTC BUY and SELL: 0.00%

NXT deposits: 0%

BTC deposits: 0%

LTC deposits: 0%

NXT cashouts: 0.0%, automated

BTC cashouts: 0.0%, automated

LTC cashouts: 0.0%, automated

Also, I think aldrin has added more inventory! There is now NXT available for 3 XRP which is around .0001 BTC and about right for what the price should really be. Maybe this whole dgex thing is to make NXT price go down on the day src was released. I think the true market price should be set on ripple

I have had many request for how to trade using peercover/ripple.

1st step is to just create a ripple wallet to get id. Then go to the link in my signature and deposit BTC. I won't be making a market in NXT/LTC today.

As soon as BTC is transferred, you will get BTC in your wallet and you will be able to trade NXT/BTC. I will try to get some competitive offers there within an hour. So, everybody get ripple acct, go to simpleGateway and get your ripple wallet funded with BTC. Oh, you have to create a trust line by going to the ripple wallet's advanced page and clickon "Add trust" and select BTC and put in peercovers address along with the size of your BTC deposit. This allows you to make a deposit of BTC.

If you can post when you get stuck I will help. If you need some XRP to start I will send you some. If you succeed, please post and explain how difficult it wasn't

James

P.S. The whole ripple process is very similar to what people will have to do for colored coins, so might as well get some practice

How can I sell Nxt?
973  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nxt source code analysis (QA) on: January 03, 2014, 03:18:31 PM
Hire this guy. If only for his nick Smiley

yes, do it asap! Smiley
Well, he just mentioned a few posts above that he is too busy to be a full time developer. But if ImmortAlex wants to contribute part time, we seem to think similarly so this may work.

The problem right now is it will be difficult to split the work between multiple developers, as you can see everything is in one huge file which needs a lot of refactoring. Distributing who can do what without stepping on each others work, and then merging the changes, will take almost the same time as one person doing it all.

So you plan to split it in different files? I am not an expert, but did some java before. When I saw that there is only one file I was shocked, to be honest...

nxtchg owner posted about a bug that cost him a lot. Did not seem he wanted to continue, certainly not large volume tradings.

There was a bunch of NXT inventory available around 3 XRP, but it got snapped up. We need more inventory of NXT on ripple using simpleGateway.

Please try peercover NXT gateway, it pays for costs from forging revenues of the NXT you deposit. No other fees. If there will ever be fees, there will be plenty of notice.

I guess most people have their NXT trapped within dgex. Is there anybody that has NXT outside of dgex who is willing to deposit into ripple? If not, is there anybody willing to sell to me and I can make some NXT available at market price.

ripple is relatively small now. NXT can become the largest issue on ripple if we just moved our trading there. Being the largest issue will help promote NXT. Better to be the big fish in a small pond first.

James

P.S. Can anybody talk some sense into dgex owner and allow people to withdraw without crazy big fee. Isn't forging from 50million NXT enough???

75. it is 75 million. In only one of the accounts.
976  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: January 03, 2014, 02:07:39 PM
ripple bid for NXT is 3 XRP = ~0.000103
NXT is trading on ripple in form of NXT/XRP
If there is interest NXT/USD and/or NXT/BTC will start trading there.
no commissions, no deposit or withdrawal fees, already trading

ripple is not usually considered a major exchange, but its total volume of trades is over $1 million per day.

James

I think there is interest...
977  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nxt source code flaw reports on: January 03, 2014, 02:00:20 PM
But shouldnīt he get a bounty for pointig it out?

No. This code won't throw an exception coz buffer capacity is validated.

Ah, ok, I see.
978  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nxt source code flaw reports on: January 03, 2014, 01:58:26 PM
Original:
Code:
static boolean pushBlock(ByteBuffer buffer, boolean savingFlag) {....}

Since the method can throw an unhandled Exceptions it should be

Code:
static boolean pushBlock(ByteBuffer buffer, boolean savingFlag) throws Exception {...}

Which line can throw the exception?

Buffer operations like buffer.getInt(), get(byte[] dst) can throw exceptions.
Memory allocations can throw exception.

Ok. This is not an injected flaw though.

But shouldnīt he get a bounty for pointig it out?
979  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: January 03, 2014, 01:35:06 PM
well, what you guys expect, dgex is a business, it's for a profit, don't like it - there are other exchanges Smiley or set up your own. Doing manual withdrawals, covering losses from his own pocket and dealing with 300 emails per day must be a nightmare.

Introducing new fees for people who already have money on the trading site isn't a nice way to do business. So it would be fair if people who deposited before the new fees where introduced would be able to withdraw the "old" way. Otherwise it is just a scam.

It is customary to have 30 day notice before changing fee structure dramatically. With NXT accelerated timeframe, even 3 day notice would have been expected. Maybe 3hr notice?

James

For a lot of newcomers dgex=Nxt. They donīt say YOU are doing things bad. They NXT is bad.

Reminds me of our old friend: magical sux!

omg, my post was full of typeos. sorry for that. I was very passionate.
