Buy in, or something like that?

When does this btc38 voting end?

We have tough competition, it might be a close finish.

They are dumb beyond capability to live life if they only add the single one that gets the most votes.
When they see hundreds have voted for NXT, they would have to be as bad at business as MtGox to not add us.

I never understood why mtgoy didnīt add other coins...

ATTENTION!

The following roles have to be filled in order to speed up the AE development (Atomic Crosschain / AE Gateway) of James!

JAVA Developer
- with knowledge about Bitcoin protocol (or a really fast learner)

Tester / Power User (up to 3 people)
- we need at least one full time Tester / Power User (but part time would be also ok)
- with some technical knowledge preferably
- experience in writing testcases would be great

I think I donīt have to explain why this feature is needed and what it would do with the price of Nxt... Smiley

Weīve already received some positive responses, but we still need skilled coders and testers!

Please let me know about your thoughts!

And we are still looking for talented people to join the AE Gateway dev team!

Nxt :: Asset Exchange Testing
Letīs get things organized!

Iīve created a project for Nxt AE on TestPad.

https://nxt.ontestpad.com

Anyone willing to test AE please join the site so I can add you to the project.

What is TestPad for and why to join?

We can

- write test cases
- run tests step-by-step
- track tests step-by-step
- track bugs
- track bugfixing progress

Please PM me your username after registration.

Edit: TestPad is charging $9/month for every new user. I will pay for the subscription from my own pocket, so please, only join if you are serious about testing.

Still looking for some candidates WHO ARE ABLE TO WRITE TESTCASES!

BTC38 just added a shitload of other coins to the list, including Vertcoin, which has a very good swarm, too (As you can see by the quickly rising votes there)
If you haven't yet, please vote. It's a very bit exchange.

I voted for NXT, and wrote them a message in the thread letting them know I would assist them in integrating NXT.

Thank you optical!

Jesse James Aka DoctorEvil on the nextcoin forum (the one who cracked the genesis account passphrase) agreed to do some audit on the Crypto/Curve25519 code.

He said it mi-february. Any news?

Could you please follow this up?

Can we have a current balance of the Marketing Fund? How much money is still in it? Where do you plan to spend it?

2.6 Mega are in Marketing unclaimed coins, committee will be elected in 30 hours so it will start to discuss it probably

Right now we have got also 185k for conferences and 250k for "small marketing" - mostly for rewards for writers, translators, admins, graphic designers and other Nxt helpers...
Some money can be also spent on small promotion, but such things need a discussion, like this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=412243.msg5518212;topicseen#msg5518212

Thank you!

If youīve read my PM, I am trying to help you build a core dev team...
In addition to Java developers, and in fact much more urgently, we need a good cryptographer. This person doesn't even need to be that fluent in Java, the language background wouldn't matter (well, he should at least be able to read and understand the Java code). But I don't have much cryptography background myself, so this is an area where we currently lack skills, especially after the departure of BCNext.

Doctorevil seems pretty good and he mentioned before that he could help as a consultant. https://nextcoin.org/index.php/topic,3884.msg36769.html#msg36769

Ricot and Broodyrookie seem pretty good too.

I will approach them.

I had a very interesting chat with one of my economist friends. He asked me a question, which I would like to forward to you, as I am very keen to hear what you think about it.

What gives value to Bitcoin? Why would someone buy 1 digital currency for $1000?

He looks at Bitcoin as a type of Ponzi scheme: all people joining Bitcoin after you, make you money.

Your friend must be a true "economist"... What gives value to anything (fiat, gold, stocks, your time)? The fact that someone else is willing to give you something for it.

If all the people joining bitcoin after me are only willing to pay less than I did, they will never make me a dime.

I love "economists" that don't understand the basic principle of market and exchange of value. They're simply brainwashed by government and their "precious" fiat.

But gold is used for manufacturing, so the price of gold NOT only dependent of speculation as the price of Bitcoin is. What can Bitcoin be used except of sending money back and forth?

Let's say you bought one Bitcoin at $1000...  then there is a 50% decrease in Ask rates and I buy one Bitcoin at $500...  how exactly did that make you any money?    Huh

Was he referring to Satoshi only?    Undecided

Well, if you hodl your Bitcoin you hope that the newcomers will drive the price high again. But there is nothing behind it, just the newcomers driving the price high.
