Marketing...

There will be a Bitcoin Conference in February in Berlin.

http://www.mediabistro.com/insidebitcoins/

Since I am from Vienna, I would love to represent Nxt on this venue. I would fly over to Berlin and use the 2 days to spread the word, let others know about Nxt.
I believe in Nxt and am sure that we will benefit from it having someone around at a venue like this, thatīs why I will fund the whole journey myself, but

donations to buy the tickets, pay for the hotel and flight is much appreciated!

then maybe you'd want to listen to their concerns.
And do exctaly what in decentalized system? U're concerned so stay sway. It's very important in investor's career to fully understand what's going on and predict future.

For a currency to succeed, it needs to be used and accepted by lots and lots and lots of people. If you own NxT, it's in your best interest to listen to potential investors' concerns. Your mentality "If you don't like this, then stay away" is not gonna fly in the long run if you want this currency to succeed.

Keeping the price at a zero-like level is also bad for Nxt as the interest will always rise with the price. Noone would care about it if the price still would be at 0.000004 as noone cared about it for weeks when the price was that low.

Well guess what, if you want other people outside of your little elite circle to join your circle, i.e., invest, and actually use the currency to trade for actual goods and services, and not just a get-rich scheme, then maybe you'd want to listen to their concerns. Your choice. I already did invest a little, about 10% of what I would like to invest. And I'm seeing the price dropping, good. Waiting on it some more.

Send me your NXT address and I'll send some.

Thank you.

hahaha, you are playing this fucking game EVERY DAY. You cry about the price, untill someone offers you free nxts, hahaha
This is the addres of my wife´s sister. Send her some nxt. She will appreciate it a lot more than this guy..

Jean Luc Picard of the USS Enterprise....  Cheesy  I had to do it...it was just too tempting

Edit: USS Nxterprise boldly go where no Crypto has gone before.
In a hindsight, I have really picked up an appropriate pseudonym. I never imagined I will make the progress from a forum Newbie to a Captain that fast.

I hereby appoint CfB as my First Officer.

Now that the USS NRS Enterprise has been making successful test flights, we have to get ready for our first trip outside the solar system, scheduled for Jan 03.

I am now proof-reading the code for any visible bugs. The memory leak has been fixed and I hope version 0.4.8 should have lower memory consumption and not require periodic restart. Next, there are some minor thread safety bugs I noticed that I will fix. I can also think of some optimization in the peer networking code, right now we create a lot of temporary byte[] and char[] that put extra load on the garbage collector and increase the memory usage too, but this is not urgent.

I need to do some refactoring of the code, because now everything is in one huge file. The parts that are to remain closed source will have to be factored out, as much as possible, in separate classes, so that they can be distributed in compiled form, still allowing one to work on the base open source part without having the complete source.

I also need to pick up a repository where we should host the source code, and prepare it for the Jan 03 launch. Probably github, but I need to investigate the alternatives.

I'm glad you are leading us, captain!:)

I have a weird bug.
I am trying to send a few nxts from account to another. I tells me that the transaction was sent, but the amount is not deducted from the senders balance, and the transaction is not showing in the unconfirmed transactions block... any idea?

EDIT: ok it went through with the next block

Where are you from? your qulificaton? and so on.. please?

He is Satoshi. Isn't that enough?

Satoshi gave up Nxt?

How many comments/likes is enough for Cryptsy to add a new currency?

I tweeted BigVern and he said he is looking into NXT and will consider after the source is released.

Cool!

You have 50M and go for the 5 Nxt from the faucet?
I know you are reading this.

I've just enabled it so that anyone above 1,000,000 will not receive any coins. (Perhaps that is even too high).

Anyway, original founder, please consider donating a million or so to the faucet. That way I can give out 1,000 nxt to everyone.
That'd leave many unsatisfied users who have already got their 1 nxt  Cheesy

I'd reset it so everyone can try once more :-)

Cool, the 50+m guy will be happy about some more free nxts... Tongue
1057  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: December 27, 2013, 09:28:59 AM
OK, got the go-ahead from our generous donator, the nxt faucet now gives a random amount of 1 to a maximum of 5 coins per user.

Try it out if you haven't yet: http://nxtra.org/faucet/

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

We invite skilled Java programmers to join Nxt core dev team. U'll get access to complete Nxt source code. We need 2-3 guys atm. If u r interested, plz, PM me with ur e-mail and ur Java experience (very short description). I'll check ur posts to make sure that u r not a troll and contact u via e-mail. If u don't get my reply by the 10th of January then wait for the next round when we ask for more participants, plz.

That was a really good decision to let some more developer help!

about to sell 50% of my NXT back into BTC. NXT is crashing hard from these attacks and sudden price rise! Not to mention there are at least 70 people with around 13 MILLION NXT who have made 6000% profit. Yep, I would be tempted also.

Correction - 400-500,000% from original approx cost per coin at .000000021BTC.

EDIT: And that's only BTC return. BTC at the time was worth 6-7 less.. So if you want to hear USD/fiat return... you're talking 2,400,000-3,000,000%.

EDIT2: I must say, that's on a per coin basis. Of course, they're not gonna be able to sell all those coins like at that rate, but it should give you an idea.

And while you are chatting here, the price just climbs back up... you should better jump on, before itīs too late again.

I already bought some.. Sitting in my NXT wallet. But, it'll drop some more, just wait.

Thatīs possible. But that is good, so more people can get in.

Does anyone else think this might have been a friendly DDoS?

It caused Cfb to tighten up the software and it caused us to strengthen the network with an explosion of new nodes and many more in the works.  If someone really wanted to embarrass Nxt, they could have waited until we were out of alpha stage and they could have hit us with a much stronger attack.  If it's malicious, why bring it on early and easy?  It has done us no harm and quite a bit of good.

I think they didnīt expect the community to react so good Smiley
