9941  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: eletrum with some problems on: September 29, 2019, 05:21:58 PM
Be very careful who you are contacting with because there are a number of scammers here trying to "help you" while stealing your coins.

It is dangerous for the OP and for anyone who contact him after his "payment". The OP can be a scammer as well.

Those kind of help should always happen in public discussions, as it is safer and the discussion may also help other users who are experiencing the same problem.
9942  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bought BTC and changed it to ADA - Total Transaction Cost 10%, so high?? on: September 29, 2019, 05:19:28 PM
Btw, you should be able to see a list of offers before you execute your trade, have you did that? Try to choose Binance (or as they said, powered by Binance) offer as most of the time it gives you the best rate.
THe problem with binance and other exchanges are the withdrawal fees. Depending on the volume, it is better to use some swap service... Therefore, it is also always good to make a research and compare the different swap services (just make a simulation)

Quote
If you want to check other instant swap exchange, here's some of them (DYOR first):
- https://changelly.com/ (need to register, and there are some accusations about their services)
- https://shapeshift.io/ (need to register)

I used coinswap and easyrabbit a lot in the past, and never had any problems.

It would be nice to simulate on all those 5 swap services and on binance before buying, to avoid paying 10% in fees/spread, like OP did....
9943  Economy / Services / Re: CryptoTalk.Org Signature Campaign [Yobit Panel] on: September 29, 2019, 03:31:33 PM
so you read all the post what is posted before ?? even there are 20 pages ..

If there are 20 pages of discussion, everything that could be said was already said. You will just repeat what someone else already said. There is no pointing in posting on these threads (unless it is a very specific case).

You should look for topics with few replies (0-10), not with 20 pages of replies (400+).

I gave my thoughts about posting and merit and things like that when I began using this forum and it 100 merits. I think it is worth reading in your case. You can improve your post quality.

9944  Economy / Services / Re: CryptoTalk.Org Signature Campaign [Yobit Panel] on: September 29, 2019, 12:44:55 PM
my post are/ were ontopic, but not long ... as you can read , i suck on grammar , thats why i try to minimize my sentence,

I will give you my opinion on this.

You are just shitposting. Most of your posts are on ANN threads, which you should avoid.

And it doesn't matter if it is ontopic. It must be relevant. If you have nothing to say, don't write anything.
If you didn't read previous posts, don't post.

I will give you an example.

After 20 pages of discussion (400 posts on the topic) you wrote this:
pls enlight us , why BTZC will grow ... whats so unique about this coin??
Your post doesn't mean anything. Spam.

Look here, after 5 pages of discussion (100 posts) you wrote this:
same here, when the btc rose above 22k begin 2018 , i really thought , that was the signal of booming af bitcoin... i saw dollar sign , i even thought , btc hit 100k and after that 1 mln .... dreams  Grin

reallity give me big smack on my face ... still recovering from it...
Which is doesn't add anything to the conversation also. You are just repeating something that is all over all crypto forums in the internet. Useless. Who do you expect to read this? Only if it is other spammer.

I will give you my personal advice:
Only say something relevant, just like in real life.
Do not repeat the same bullshit over and over again.
Do not post in megathreads (with 2+ pages, imo, it is a megathread, unless if it is a very specific discussion)
Try to answer questions and help users
Read more than you write.

You can read what I wrote and try to improve yourself, or you can just defend yourself and keep shitposting and spamming. Up to you.

I know that many other spammers were kicked out of the campaign, maybe others which are even more spammers than you. But that's it, life isn't fair.
You put a lot of efforts in the posts above trying to defend yourself. If you put the same effort in your paid posts, you wouldn't have been kicked. Think about it.
9945  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Encrypt a message using Bitcoin Public Key and decrypt with private key?Like PGP on: September 29, 2019, 12:08:43 PM
It's possible using Electrum's console.
But it's not necessary to use your private key for decryption.

Thank you. I will try later.

But this way it is far less secure... it would be good to encrypt with public key and decrypt with the private key, like PGP.

This will probably answer your question, in short it is possible, but not recommended as it encourages address reuse, could have privacy implications and could have interactions between protocols using the same key pairs.

Thank you.
The person who answered said that using systems that were actually designed for encryption is better... he is right ofc, but maybe an upgrade in bitcoin protocol in the future?
It would be nice to see one day people using bitcoin protocol to encrypt messages, it could be easily done by users and would protect our privacy in our emails and other means of communication.

I don't see a problem with address re use here. You could use some addresses just for messaging, no big deal IMO.
9946  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Encrypt a message using Bitcoin Public Key and decrypt with private key?Like PGP on: September 29, 2019, 09:55:28 AM
I was studying a little about PGP. I am a total newbie at it.

But there are so many similarities to PGP and Bitcoin. Is it possible to encrypt a message using my public key, and decrypt it using my private key? Like PGP does. It would be something very nice to do, as Bitcoin clients are much more common and widespread than PGP related software (also easier to use).

I would like to be able to encrypt my messages using bitcoin key pairs. It would be really useful.

Maybe in future Bitcoin signatures could even replace PGP signatures? Is there any discussion about this? Or is it technically impossible ? I searched but couldn't find any.
9947  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Proof of Keys Event for a Beginner? on: September 28, 2019, 04:37:49 PM
Right now on my ledger nano s the parent Eth account balance is 0. So I cant sent erc-20 tokens to it yet as it's not free due to fees? How much balance should I need to cover the fees?

You don't need Eth to receive Tokens, but to send.

If you are sending tokens to your ledger nano s, you don't need Eth there. You need eth from the address you are sending them.

If it is an exchange, they pay for those fees, usually.
9948  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Diversified investment or concentrated investment ? on: September 28, 2019, 01:26:22 PM
There are plenty of fundamentally different coins, but putting money in on the basis of their technical merit is pointless. No one cares. There are coins that have been 51% attacked, rolled back, hacked, and they're all still chugging.

The only thing you need to understand is which one will grab the most hype and lets you get out in time and no one knows anything about that either. To 97% or more of people all of these coins are nothing more than three letters attached to number on an exchange that goes up or down.

I think that even those bad projects may somehow contribute. When suffering those 51% attacks we can see how a 51% works, what is can do, like an experiment.

Those shitcoins are, some of them, trying new technologies in a very risk way. If any of those new technologies is useful and it works, it may later on be applied to bitcoin...

Edit: Not saying that it is worth ivnesting in those projects. I am saying that those shitprojects can be good for bitcoin

I am locking this topic, too much spam already. People started to post without reading previous posts.
Reported a few.
9950  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Diversified investment or concentrated investment ? on: September 28, 2019, 10:34:08 AM
Go to the altcoin boards or /r/cryptocurrency and ask all the people there who "diversified" in to a bunch of altcoins back in 2017 how that's working out for them. Bitcoin has recovered from its dip down to $3k, whilst most of the altcoins have only sunk lower.

You don't even need to go that far. Just look up here in the image I posted.
Bitcoin was 11k, Ethereum as 999, XRP was 1.07, Bcash was 1600, Litecoin was 177.

How are the prices now?

Bitcoin is nearly the same, 8200, -27%.
Ethereum is -80%
XRP is -70%
Bcash -90%
Litecoin -70%

Is it worth diversifying is this? If I had never bought any altcoin, my portfolio would be much bigger now.
9951  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dogecoin Is the Third-Most Resistant to 51% Attacks, After Bitcoin and Ethereum on: September 28, 2019, 01:41:23 AM
I don't get how this meme coin is more resilient than litecoin.
Maybe litecoin lost power when Bcash was created? Both of them are similar to bitcoin, but "faster".

anyway, this is really good for dogecoin.

Dogecoin is also a lot used in casinos, dice games, and in exchanges and other swap services. It became one of the most solid projects out there... this meme coin!

This is how we can see how many shit coins we have out there...
9952  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are You Doing This? on: September 28, 2019, 01:26:04 AM
What about you guys, do you guys do the same with me?
I did that. And everyone certainly should, because we need to think about our kids in the future. And in 10-20years our 0.0001 btc could be worth a lot of money.

The thing is, if you don't 100% trust someone, or if you would like to be more protect from a possible thief that could rob your house, you could split your keys.

For example, give your Seed to a relative and the passphrase to another.
Or if you wish you can give 12 word to one person and the other 12 to another.

There are many ways to do it, but you certainly should.
9953  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and cryptocurrency real Investment on: September 28, 2019, 01:05:09 AM
There are some exchanges that allow you to lend btc to them, and they give you interest rates like 5% per year or something like that.

But the risk is enormous, as they are going to have the private keys of your bitcoins. If the exchange has any problem, if it closes or get hacked, your bitcoins are gone.
9954  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [General] Bitcoin Wallets - Which, what, why? on: September 28, 2019, 12:18:09 AM
Except for the heirs?
I think to protect the private key is better to use a hardware wallet. Hardware wallets are also more resistant to viruses, malware, etc.

I think for heirs a good option would be not to give them the private keys, but to tell them how to find.
Or maybe you could even split. 12 words to one, and 12 words to another. Or a passphrase with one, and the seed with another.

About hardware wallets... I can't understand how does anyone still hold more than 500 usd in any wallet that is not a hardware wallet.
9955  Other / Ivory Tower / Re: The Jet Cash interesting financial videos thread. on: September 27, 2019, 10:12:03 PM
With due respect to Taleb, the changing the name from "resiliency" to "antifragility" does not create anything new.

Resilience is not antifragility.

According to google dictionary, it is close to robust:

resilience
(noun)
1.
the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties; toughness.
"the often remarkable resilience of so many British institutions"
2.
the ability of a substance or object to spring back into shape; elasticity.
"nylon is excellent in wearability and resilience"

And Robust is not antifragility.

Antifragility is something that gain from chaos and disorder. Robust or Resilient is something that isresistant or can quickly recover from chaos and disorder. Those concepts are very different.

Like the example I said. It is like putting a sticker in your bag saying "Please mishandle"

This idea comes from his experience as an option trader.

I will make an example:

Antifragility x World Crisis - An option trader can benefit from chaos. He maybe  shortening stocks in a crash and he will make 10000% in a crash. He gained from the disorder.

Resilient to World Crisis -  Buying bonds or gold with liquidity when stock market crashes. He is resistant to the crash, but didn't benefit from it.

Or an example closer to our reality:
Shortening bitcoin (antifragile to bitcoin crash) x Buying Tether (resilient to bitcoin crash)
9956  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are the longest fixed rates that were offered to you? on: September 27, 2019, 04:16:39 PM
What are the longest fixed rates that were offered to you?

This doesn't matter. 15 minutes is really a lot, but it makes no difference actually. You can just reload the page and you will receive an updated rate.

If  a crash within those 15minutes happens (which is highly unlikely), changelly will simple refuse to make your conversion. It is a centralized service, they will look at your rates and refund you.

So it really doesn't matter, and you will not make money by using a long fixed rate.
9957  Economy / Exchanges / Re: How can i withdraw 40.000.00 USD per day? on: September 27, 2019, 01:20:21 PM
What is the best non usa site to withdraw fiat up to 40.000.00 usd per day?  Thanks

Just to be sure, do you want to withdrawal 40.000,00 or 40.000.000? Because 40.000.00 isn't a currency number. Is it 40 thousand or 40 million?

If you want to withdrawal 40.000,00 it is relatively easy. Just send 10-20k (1-2 btc) to good exchanges like Bitstamp, Binance, Kraken, Coinbase  and withdarawl it.

In binance you can withdrawal 20k(2btc) per day wihtout any KYC.
9958  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum to Electrum - transaction lost! on: September 27, 2019, 01:13:09 PM
Maybes that's the reason why it doesn't show now in the recovered wallet?!
No.
labels are not registered in the blockchain, it is an internal label that affects only your wallet software. Probably if you reinstall your electrum, or recover it in another computer, the label will be lost, but funds will not be affected.
9959  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A new world - crypto community forums on: September 27, 2019, 12:50:25 PM
Maybe it is better for you to create a subreddit?
There are many big communities there, like /r/Cryptocurrency, r/ethtrader and so on.

You will have basically no audience in your new forum, and you are trying to advertise it in another forum (which is a bad idea, because nobody will move to another forum from here). You need to find other audience, not try to convert your audience from here, unless your forum has something better, like, better discussions, which is highly unlikely.

Take a look here. This forum is paying 0.00001 BTC for every post. How can you compete with that? Ofc that traffic will be artificial, and nobody will go there after this payment campaing is over.. unless people with good knowledge there.

9960  Other / Ivory Tower / Re: What is giving Bitcoin its value? The ultimate answer is: Skin in the game. on: September 27, 2019, 12:08:05 PM
Hey Robert,

I noticed that you are reposting a post from your blog, right?

http://roberto.info/2019/08/05/bitcoin-value-skin-in-the-game

It would be safer for you to add the reference in your article. You may be banned by that plagiarism bot. I know you are not plagiarizing anything, just posting your article in two different places. But try to explain that to a bot...

Nice article btw.
