81  Bitcoin / Hardware / Friday Refunds on: March 03, 2013, 09:28:05 PM
Hello,
Sorry I could not make any refunds this Friday, I had to make two very large payments to a couple customers who had the largest orders on the books. I did not want people thinking I am only refunding small orders.

As I have said before everyone will be paid back. I want to do the right thing here. I honestly do. I have been a member of this forum for 2 years, and it was like home, I contributed to numerous projects and tried everything I could to to further the cause of Bitcoin. While trying to develop this project I made a lot of bad decisions and I was not experienced or knowledgeable enough - I thought I was - but I was not. I could not make this project happen and it has put me in a very difficult situation. Things are downright depressing around this household, its so thick you could cut it with a knife. I love this place but alas I have become an outcast... But thats enough of my problems. My inexperience led to this but I will not, I repeat I will NOT go out as a scammer.

Every single order will be paid (eventually) I know everyone wants their Bitcoins right now,

but its a little difficult when you sold them at 15$ and now have to buy them back at 30$

most of the other orders are relatively small, most are around 2k-4k and there are not that many of them left.

Refunds will resume on Friday - I  send refunds until there are no Bitcoins left. and will continue on every Friday until they are all paid off.

thank you to the ones who have been patient, and supporting.

Ahhh finally got back into my hacked account. This does not mean I will be a regular on this board anymore it just means I can make some statements that will hopefully be helpful to you.

1) I do not deserve a scammer label. We sold FPGA Mining products since may, when BFL announced their product MONTHS early just to try and squash the competition they lied which was a total lie and dis-service to the community but we wanted to keep our business alive, this led us to begin developing out own ASIC basic based prodcut. Our latest attempt at making the huge leap to ASIC failed. It was never our intention to scam anyone. Anyone who ordered a FPGA mining product has received their unit or their unit is on the way (2 orders slipped through the cracks when shit went bananas but we found these orders and we shipped them out this week.

2) I have paid back over 1 million USD to credit card buyers and BTC buyers alike. I am liquidating assets like a madman and still mining at about 60 gh/s with my FPGA rigs, which brings about 10 btc per day. Every week I gather what assets I have obtained and I distribute them to the customers starting with the earliest customers first and than working my way up to the later buyers. There are many people who can attest to this. One of our largest orders who spent over 100k was refunded by wire transfer just last week and I am sure if you look you can find that thread.

IF you are interesting in reading the actual definition of a scam you may do so here:

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/scam

Instead I am doing everything I can to make sure every single customer gets a complete and total refund. Unfortunately some people do not like the fact that they are returned less coins than they have sent. Although the fact of the matter is - these units were priced in USD NOT BTC and it is appropriate to use the current exchange rate when converting USD to Bitcoin to make these refunds. Any one who knows what they are doing in e-commerce would agree totally.

3) See a scammer would of taken all the money (over a million dollars) and disappeared, instead I still live in my same house and still go to my regular job every day. I am a family man and the last thing I want is any kind of trouble. You guys have no idea the sleepless nights worrying about this thing, but I am going to keep on this and make sure every customer gets his refund.

4) I am sure its hard to believe but this has hurt and will continue to hurt myself and my family far more than it will hurt any of you, But that's the gamble I took when I decided to make an ASIC device, and take pre-orders, we just could not make the damn thing work (for long) and the chips were clocked wrong or something because they had a very little life especially when you pushed them to any degree.

At any rate that is all behind us. Like I said I have paid over 1 mil in refunds and continue to do so every friday night (20k just last friday) this list is shortening and shortening and before you know it every single person will be paid back in full.

I just hope and pray you give me the time to make this all happen, I sold most of these coins at around $15 and now am buying back at $30 - its very difficult but as the last 2 weeks showed you , you will continue to see 10 refunds every friday until every single person is paid back.

I have been a very strong member of this community for 2 years, and I have always fulfilled my promises - please have a little faith in me is all I am asking - I WANT to do the right thing. Think about what a true scammer would of done with over a million at his disposal?Huh??

I have four kids and I am just trying to get by - I am sorry I was not up to meet the challenge of bASIC but I assure you all of you will be paid back.

89  Economy / Computer hardware / Buying All FPGA Miners! on: December 09, 2012, 07:31:59 PM
Hello

I have found a re purpose for used FPGA Miners, the only catch is the miner must work. Chances are if the miner does not work than either does the chip inside.

I am paying $75 Per spartan-6 chip that it has.

Please dont try and remove the chips themselves.

I know $75 per chip seems very low considering how much you probably paid for them, and I apologize but if I paid anymore I would be losing money and lets face it once ASICS hit next month they will probably be worth a lot less.

but If you agree I will send you a free box with the postage paid along with packing materials to keep the item safe.

As soon as it arrives you will be paid immediately.

I can pay in Bitcoin, Wire-transfer, Western Union or Check.

All interested parties should email thomas@thomasvanriper.com

any other emails regarding anything will not be replied to at this address

if you need to get ahold of me contact me customer service manager at dave@bitcoinasic.com

thank you

NEWS
I'm back for the week and wow looking at some of the posts it Makes me glad I was away for the weekend.

Thank you for the support for those who are not afraid to stand up to a bully.

for one thing YES as of right now we are still on schedule,

but we have lots of news we want to share with you and would like all customers to register an account on our new forum

We are also looking for moderators for the forum. To be a moderator you must be a customer.  All interested customers who would like to be moderators please email tom@btcfpga.com

I know some people have been waiting 3-4 days for an email response and I start working on those right away.

FORUM NOTICE
The new forum and our IRC channel (which has been in wide use for 6 moths btw) are now our official points of contacts.

Due to the constant lies, bullying and manipulation - This thread is now locked and officially closed, until further notice.

As always you can always call me 315-514-0269

BTW thank you SO MUCH to the moderators and staff who have worked very hard to keep the peace here.
95  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: High Efficiency FPGA & ASIC Bitcoin Mining Devices https://BTCFPGA.com on: November 03, 2012, 06:11:54 PM
for board power we included the option of using either 4 pin molex or your common 12v dc barrel jack connector like what they use on the bitforce single.

As we do not provide power supplies for these units we wanted to make sure everyone would be able to power their units in the way that they wished.

My personal opinion would be to

buy something like this:

https://www.bitcoinasic.net/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=54

which is a highly efficient and top notch PSU - as far as I know the only PSU certified to platinum efficiency status is Seasonic.

I personally use these on my fpga rigs - one of these 1000 watt babies will easily power 8-10 54Gh/s bASICS

Now I owe a huge apology to my customers who are waiting on email responses. I have some family issues I have to deal with that are going to keep me away until monday. but I give you my word that I will have all outstanding emails inquiries addressed by monday morning at the latest.

For anyone else that needs me you are certainly welcome to call me at any time (315) 514-0269

as many of my friends here can attest to - if you do not get me on the first try its likely I am with another customer or otherwise cannot come to the phone so PLEASE keep trying
if your calling from the USA and leave a message I will almost ALWAYS return the call. If you are calling international please keep calling - I will answer eventually I promise!

Take care my friends and hang in there- things are moving forward and looking really good and so far we are looking like we can keep that tentative ship schedule

to DiabloD3 and all the other excellent staff members here I highly appreciate your level handed justice, not many of us remember what this forum once was, but I for one do. It was my favorite, most intelligent and open minded and polite place on the internet,  however attempts at its destruction are being made daily by agenda driven trolls with no lives have made it their duty to disrupt this thread and this forum in general I applaud the staff members for doing such a good job, you have my continued support and if there is anything else I can do for you please do not hesitate to ask.

Lets keep this thread on subject gentleman please. If obvious trolls pop up and try to post off topic and de-rail again please dont hesitate to report to moderator, but otherwise I want to see my supporters posting on topic and I am sure you will. Remember we are the good guys here and we need to act like it  Smiley

anyways I am off - I will be around as much as I can be but email's pm's wont be answered until monday - if you need a question answered and it cant wait until monday do it the old fashion way and give me a call

take care my brothers

if you have unanswered emails I will get to them over the weekend. I apologize I let this troll occupy so much of my time, I promise I wont fall into that trap again.

If you want to help keep this thread on track - please use the report to moderator button next to the trolling persons post. The Bitcoin staff have encouraged us to do this, and I personally thank you and them for participating in keeping things on track.

take care,

Tom

Bogart: thank you for the recommendations and I fully plan to contact the FCC regarding compliance.

take it elsewhere for continued discussion

Actually he did, but that whole new thread disappeared after he got a few hostile replies.
I wonder what happened.

What happened was the staff at Bitcointalk did their jobs and removed it because it was an obvious troll thread.

He made very direct accusations at my company even though EVERY SINGLE other FPGA/ASIC manufacturer INCLUDING BFL would also be in violation of these FCC regulations. It is obvious he has an agenda against BTCFPGA.

http://www.ztex.de/ <-- imports into USA would also need to be regulated from FCC

http://www.butterflylabs.org <--- manufacturers inside the USA + I have personally ordered and received products from this company and never received ANY fcc notifications what so ever

http://www.enterpoint.co.uk/cairnsmore/cairnsmore1.html <--- imports into the USA and would also need to be regulated from FCC

http://fpgamining.com/products/x6500-rev3 <-- manufacturer and sold within the USA / also sold at cablesrus.com

So given the fact that every single one of these companies is in violation of these FCC regulations you are so worried about - why are you coming directly at me?

You know what the funniest part about all of this is??? after reading through these guidelines I am pretty sure the ModMiner Quad's modular design - and in the fact that when it is shipped to customers it comes in multiple parts that must be assembled by the consumer that it would fit into some sort of subsystem or kit and therefore be the only device in question that might actually be un-regulated - that is if this whole bullshit circus is for real.

So the question is Sockpuppet MeSarah, why are you so concerned about BTCFPGA and our FCC regulations?

Why letting everyone else off the hook? I think its pretty damn obvious to figure out.

For the record: I will contact the FCC and find out what changes we need to make if any to keep within regulation.

Sockpuppet MeSarah: go get a life.

lol everyone needs to calm down. We have a full featured security system from time warner cable.

If someone breaks a window the police will be here within 2 mins (the station is a mile down the street)

Not to mention the fact that for the short time the ASIC's will be here someone will be here around the clock

oh and by the way the people in this town would not know a Bitcoin mining device from a furby.
