1641  Economy / Economics / Re: Different online business we can involve in on: March 28, 2021, 07:14:47 AM
This shows how powerful the internet is. The internet is so powerful that people can earn a living just the utilizing and making the most of the internet. Their is this absurd believe that social media is all there is to the internet and many people do believe that.
Many of the jobs I do are with clients over the internet. I don't even know about 90percent of them.
Satoshi understood the power of the internet and leveraged on it to create bitcoin which we all enjoy today
That is if the people knows how to navigate the Internet because of its vastness most people do not explore too much because it is overwhelming coupled with the fact that there is a presence of cybercrime which targets anyone vulnerable and gullible enough. But you are right if we know how to utilize the Internet, we can make a living out of it.
1642  Economy / Economics / Re: Flexible Work Schedule on: March 28, 2021, 06:34:20 AM
Working from home killed productivity tbh.

I get that it's great working from home and not having to commute, but if I owned any office related business, in what way can you verify that work is actually getting done without literally having to babysit employees and monitor their every move? I know companies will install tracking software on business computers, and I would hate to be using something like that at home.
Exactly, the expenses that are mostly covered by the company that you are working on is being shouldered by you, especially that one too, tracking software is just a legitimate malware. I think the only time that a flexible work schedule will work is when you are a business owner or a freelancer.
1643  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Another NFT sold for huge $$$ ' A column of New York Times on: March 28, 2021, 05:45:09 AM
NFT's are even more speculative than any crypto or stock because you are taking the subjective value of art and throwing into the equation. A street artist sold this piece for 64k - https://www.sfgate.com/sf-culture/article/nft-zuckerberg-fnnch-street-art-sf-16053999.php Maybe I am old fashion, but I am not seeing the artistic ability here...

NFT's obviously transcends art, like this 3 million dollar Jack Dorsey tweet https://www.theverge.com/2021/3/22/22344937/jack-dorsey-nft-sold-first-tweet-ethereum-cryptocurrency-twitter
The reason that you don't see value because you don't have the money to buy that piece of art, I mean you already said that it is subjective which means that for some people that piece of art that you don't see any artistic ability has a value to them, NFT is a collective though which means that if it is considered a collectible then it is considered an NFT.
1644  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers - How do you use your signature campaign earnings? on: March 28, 2021, 05:07:29 AM
I haven't really earned a lot in my signature campaign as I am still a neophyte in the signature campaign so I will do the best course and just hodl it until it reaches a desired amount and maybe do some gambling myself to try and make some money.
1645  Economy / Economics / Re: Bangladesh militants use Bitcoins for laundering money to Kashmir on: March 27, 2021, 12:32:36 PM

If some inexperienced user was in my place, then he might have lost his coins. And dealing with these people face to face is not recommended at least in developing nations. You don't know their criminal background. Once the transaction is done, there is always a chance that they will blackmail or threaten you, as your identity is known.
That is why I said to bring a companion with you and do the transaction in the public, with a lot of people surrounding you, any chance of a funny business happening will be alleviated and having a companion insures that they won't overpower you. There isn't really any blackmail when someone you did transaction with knows about your identity unless you gave them something compromising then that is the time to worry, and it is also easy to deal with because you know who is behind the blackmail.
1646  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2021-03-22 yahoo! - 'Bitcoin Winter' Could Last For Years After Price Hits $300k on: March 27, 2021, 11:24:05 AM
If there is going to be a long winter for bitcoin market when it reached the 300k USD point then I think that it is a good thing for many people because it means that it will be an opportunity to buy more bitcoin and accumulate more in the process and considering that bitcoin can bounce back and have its price go higher than it was expected, I think that enduring this winter is going to be fruitful for those who will do so.
1647  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin a scam: The long debated argument discussion by Bloomberg - Quicktake on: March 27, 2021, 10:30:19 AM
~
Unless you're a bank in the US or are part of the Federal Reserve system, which discarded (temporarily) fractional reserve last year (yeah, wonderful innit?), in which case you don't even need to hold reserves. They then went on to infinity printing which Biden's still happy to continue.
Aren't all the banks around the world work that way? The printing isn't a problem as long as it is regulated but considering that a lot has been speculating and saying that the hyperinflation will soon burst in US economy which means that US is not doing a really good job and also they shouldn't have gave big companies a bail out because those money could've been used to help more people, the fault of this companies is being shouldered by taxpayers money.
1648  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin a scam: The long debated argument discussion by Bloomberg - Quicktake on: March 27, 2021, 09:50:06 AM
It's only as much a scam as the current financial/banking system. I mean, I get told I have digits in my bank account, and that can magically move almost anywhere I want it to, with the blessings of my banks and if everything goes right.
You are not burying the banks enough, I mean they operate on fractional reserve banking where they can borrow money even though they do not have anything to make up for it not to mention that they need a lot of paperwork just to work with them. I don't know how they are still doing this kind of debate because it is already pointless unless they know something that the public doesn't know about bitcoin.
1649  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Governments are looking to buy Bitcoin, NYDIG CEO confirms on: March 27, 2021, 08:55:52 AM
There's got to be more governments that will follow the steps once they verify that indeed some governments are now trying to accumulate Bitcoin. We've already heard the news about Miami government allowing employees to earn BTC. Its going to hurt them when they are still not going to ride the train. Almost every financial channel on youtube had once covered BTC already to which they use to hedge, they should start buying.
That is what everyone is hoping and I think that there is a big possibility that they will follow suit remember that humans like to fit in and if not then they know that they are going to be left behind.
1650  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is the Nigeria Central bank confusing its citizens? on: March 27, 2021, 08:15:30 AM
Actually the case with most of the governments around the world is that they have no clarity about crypto regulations as they fear its usage being decentralised currencies unlike fiat but on the contrary basis they also don't want to loose revenue from the tax proceeds of crypto users.Nigeria being the country with most crypto traders and users obviously don't want to decrease their revenue sources and promote its usage with economy boost.
They actually have a grasp of it and they know the potential, what they don't want is for the people to fully understand because it threatens the power of their authority especially in the banking services. I think that any government will do anything to keep their subjects docile and if confusing them is the key to it then they will do it.
1651  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What age bracket is perfect for gambling on: March 27, 2021, 07:36:36 AM
Depend on what parental decision is and me as parent ? i believe that 21 year of age is the actual allowable to gamble .

With their own responsibilities , and no need for parents consent  .
It could be 18 or 21 but I do agree that they need to have a responsibility first and they also have to have their own jobs to make it so that they don't spend the money of their parents. I think that if there is no intervention in parents there also should be no help received from the parents when these people are drowning in debt.
1652  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are there sportsbooks that offer flipped odds? on: March 27, 2021, 06:43:20 AM
You said that it is profitable for the bettors no matter which side in your OP, then why are you asking people if there is a sportsbook that offers something that will make them lose their money then? I mean the chances that there is one is really low in my opinion because business wise this kind of odds flipping is the reverse of making profit. Maybe Mr. Beast offers those kind of thing because he gives away free money which is basically the same as flipped odds.
1653  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: OSCARS 2021- Nominees, Odds and Predictions! on: March 27, 2021, 06:04:20 AM
~
To be quite fair, to have a more educated guess for betting purposes a better option than watching the movies would be hanging out on oscar related forums, read the articles and find out what movie and/or topic has the most hype to it because watching it could compromise objectivity if betting is the only thing someone wants to do with the Oscars.
Educated guess might work but I don't think that going to the lengths of going to forums seems to me a pretty big stretch for something as banal as a movie awards, you don't have to read articles to find the hype, if you have a social media then I think that it is enough to form your decision on which to bet because people will recommend what they find good.
1654  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to win at roulette? on: March 27, 2021, 05:15:12 AM
I personally doubt such a strategy exists, even martingale is just a strategy to manage your bankroll to equal your profits (with a big enough bankroll) from your losses after all. And as you said, only with an infinite bankroll would you ever actually win in roulette, since chances of winning are always reset for each cycle so it'd always end up with a 50/50 chance. Numbers may say that in 100 rolls with a 50/50 chance, 50 would be red and 50 would be black, but who said that the roulette only takes into account 100 rolls? Those are, in the end, just numbers used to represent the chances, not the actual possible results.
There is no strategy in a game of chances, I mean you are placing your faith on a ball and a spinning roulette and wishing that it will land at the right spot but at the same time at the back of your mind you know that there isn't such thing. And yes, the only strategy that exist in this kinds of games is based on your bankrolls and how to make your money last a long time. Only strategy that I think can help in a way to win a roulette is to list 1000 spins and their results and get their average and bet on those number in between but that too is unreliable and tiresome to do.
1655  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi Nakamoto's first post sale on: March 26, 2021, 11:48:17 AM
I don't think he will be dealing with a technology like nft if satoshi comes back. But if one possibility is made for souvenirs to celebrate the establishment, big investors will definitely compete with each other to buy. Because a product created and sold by Satoshi will definitely be sold many times more in the coming years.
How do you know that satoshi won't deal with NFT? This will be like any paintings of any artists like Banksy, Basquiat or Warhol, it will definitely fetch a price, I wouldn't call it a souvenir though because NFT is closer to an artwork.
1656  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2021-03-25]Ray Dalio on the possibility of banning BTC in the US on: March 26, 2021, 10:56:09 AM
It's too late to outlaw a few billion dollar industry that also pay quite some nice taxes to the Uncle Sam government. The States will see their best talents and companies leaving the country and losing a competitive advantage over other competing countries. It is vey unlikely to witness such a ban on BTC.
I think that we are underestimating the US government considering that they can overthrow regimes in South America, I think that this is just an easy task for them because they have the resources to do it, the people just have to be ready about it. Maybe it won't come to banning but maybe a regulation.
1657  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Nicole wants to give up her taxi in exchange for bitcoin on: March 26, 2021, 10:15:37 AM
I think it's better to spend a little bit of your savings, or total amount of money you have on Bitcoin. It's it's important to have extra money reserved for other important things that you need for living a good life.
By the way, I wonder if she sold the taxi and invested all the funds (or part of it) in Bitcoin, or is that trade by barter, or did she abondon her taxi business to invest part of her time and money in Bitcoin investments?
That is the ideal thing to do but in this case, the person in the story did an all-in with bitcoin, I hope that the person knows how volatile and risky investing in bitcoin is. Maybe she sold taxi business and invested everything which is going to be a disaster waiting to happen. I mean she could have started low on bitcoin investment and kept the taxi business and keep that income stream.
1658  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Government ban on crypto on: March 26, 2021, 09:28:55 AM
The only way to stop bitcoin access is to cut electricity power supply. Essentially that would stop the internet from being accessed. But that is a too drastic step to be taken by anyone.

So you can be assured that such incidents will not happen and always hope for the best and betterment of the crypto space. Regulation may happen but remember that if you are a part of the law abiding citizen who does not take part in money laundering, you have nothing to worry about.
Or it could be the other way around too, shutting off Internet can also be a possibility or a apocalypse scale war like a full-on nuclear war. It is a pretty scary mindset that you have to not worry about regulations that they are going to put on bitcoin if you are a law abiding citizen because there will always be a possibility that you can be implicated or blamed for something that you didn't do, have you heard of frame up?
1659  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Soros Fund Management CIO Hints at Bitcoin Ownership on: March 26, 2021, 07:56:45 AM
@Kittygalore. However, what is she hiding?
That we don't know but I am sure that they are hiding something, I already said it in the post, the question is answerable by a yes or a no but they made some suspicious sentence so I automatically deduced that he is hiding something.
1660  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Soros Fund Management CIO Hints at Bitcoin Ownership on: March 26, 2021, 07:17:54 AM
Is George Soros that dude that got rich because he bet against British Pound? I think that George owns bitcoin which is pretty evident with his answer to the question imposed, I mean if you are a normal person, you can just say no and I think that you will get that point across that you don't own bitcoin but that answer is definitely of someone who is hiding something.
