1721  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Scams in Google and Apple App Stores on: March 18, 2021, 09:31:39 AM
All the more reason to not buy Apple products because they are arrogant to say that they have a strict requirements for their apps but they can't even catch that these app is a phishing attempt. I had a good relation with Apple back when they still didn't remove auxiliary parts of the phone which defeats the purpose and I find more capable Android phones pop up of the market that are better in any aspect.
1722  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When will you sell bitcoin? on: March 18, 2021, 08:54:09 AM
Probably I won't sell any more until the next cycle and if I do it will be like 10% of my stash or so. I don't own a lot, so I think it is better to keep accumulating and see how things go. The most likely scenario for this cycle is that the ATH will be higher than $100k. For next cycle it won't be surprising to see the price between $500k and $1M.
That takes a lot of patience, I mean 3 years is a long time and hopefully you can get a lot of cash out of the bitcoin that you are going to save. Maybe if you can, try to do some kind of investment with your bitcoin instead of just hodling it so as to create an interest overtime, you are hodling and at the same time you are earning something from your investment, I plan to this but currently, I don't have that much bitcoin so I will just have to wait.
1723  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Operation Hidden Treasure on: March 18, 2021, 08:06:18 AM
Look I am not endorsing any form of tax evasion here. If I prefer the KYC-free alternative is solely because I tend not to give away my data & information to some companies which are not even capable of securing my data (ledger for example).
Reducing the use of bitcoin to evade taxes is a bit discouraging.
Most personal data are already available, its just that it is the government that is holding that data so you have some assurance that you won't get any information leak because of bureaucracy that makes it difficult to request for your personal info. I have heard of this advice but I don't know if it is true but whenever you do something online you can always use fake credentials and still make it look legitimate, I wouldn't really go the tax avoiding route but if the part of what I am earning is going to be taken by an incompetent government then I might consider doing it.
1724  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Reduce your TAX Liability on: March 18, 2021, 07:28:53 AM
Maybe you can benefit by putting the bitcoin in a mixer or sell it on a P2P exchanges. I don't know much about tax evasion but I think that you already listed offshore which is a really great idea and I think that you should pursue it because you are not that hot in the eyes of the government and the tax department, hell you can even create your own shell company and funnel the money there. Don't ask how I know this, I just binged Ozark so I have some ideas.
1725  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Power consumption propaganda? on: March 18, 2021, 06:53:59 AM
How about we worry where we get those power instead of focusing on the power consumption, the power consumption for bitcoin will only go up as the adoption grows a bigger day by day, we need to make a more green energy sources. The only reason for this is just to make bitcoin look bad and make the prices go down.
1726  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying 1 BTC is ‘like owning 60 cars? on: March 18, 2021, 06:16:55 AM
I did some search about the cheapest car, and a 15k seems to be the lowest, which means that 1 bitcoin is worth around 900k USD which doesn't prove anything but that bitcoin can grow much bigger if we just let it, I think that this person just played himself. The reason that bitcoin has a slow transaction is that it doesn't have the same infrastructure as a traditional financial institutions that are heavily flawed.
1727  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers - How do you use your signature campaign earnings? on: March 18, 2021, 05:36:12 AM
~
if the pay will go into your account in the casino wallet, you may be tempted to actually roll a dice or bet a sports match. once you read something like the strategies on winning dice or a thread in the gambling forum about a football or a boxing match, it could spark an interest in you that you could buy a new phone with just one bet. but you're safe if the BTC goes into your personal wallet at least you can hold it there for a long time.
Not going to happen, I really don't want to gamble something that I had a hard time earning, so to say I am not that easy to be tempted to spend what I earn into something frivolous and expensive like gambling. There is no such thing as strategy on dices, you just throw and let the RNG do its work.
1728  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much btc do you need to secure your future? on: March 17, 2021, 11:31:25 AM
With the current prices of bitcoin and if at the next 10 years it will continue to go up, I think that 1500 bitcoin is enough to go on a retirement and have some money for inheritance if having a family is on the table. I mean 1 bitcoin can keep you good for atleast a year but we have to consider that the prices isn't always going high.
1729  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: We should build a seastead on: March 17, 2021, 10:40:35 AM
If it actually grew to be rich and attractive... that's a 'problem' that it would be nice to have. Don't put the cart before the horse. At that stage some sort diplomatic manoeuvring and/or buying protection or starting a professional army would probably become necessary.
Security of the seastead does seem concerning but in the long run, we can make this problem go away by making the seasteads a profitable economic hotspots for many countries and then we can bargain a deal that they will have some degree of privileges if they in turn protect the seastead from the possibility of attacks from pirates or other hostile forces. Small countries, don't need an army to protect itself let alone a seastead.
1730  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have concluded that all governments together can't stop bitcoin on: March 17, 2021, 10:00:12 AM
Tell that to China, banning bitcoin usage by the public combined with mass surveillance, Internet censorship, and propaganda, I think that if a government were to do something drastic, I think that they will be able stop bitcoin. I forgot to mention that North Korea is also one of the countries that can stop bitcoin.
1731  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do ordinary people feel afraid of Bitcoin? on: March 17, 2021, 09:23:01 AM
The answer is very simple - they are afraid of what they do not understand.
That is the reason at the simplest form but I have to add that they also fear technology and the things that are intangible that is why they do not risk doing anything involving finance online because they don't know whether to trust the site or not. It is not the fault of the people entirely that they are afraid of what they do not know, the fault also lies on educators, they need to tell this people what they need to know about bitcoin and cryptocurrency.
1732  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoins dropped to $9.50, would you sell everything? on: March 17, 2021, 08:42:00 AM
As many people will think here, I would quite do the opposite, what you are presenting is not an opportunity to exit but an opportunity to buy, imagine how many bitcoin you are going to get and hodl with a 10 USD value, becoming a millionaire is going to be a guarantee if you get around 1k bitcoin at that price.
1733  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is for Holders! on: March 17, 2021, 08:08:17 AM
Sure, regular traders lose their money.  Holders tend to get rich long term by speculating on Bitcoin.
Bitcoin traders are not necessarily losers because there are a few people I know who trade to increase their Bitcoins over time and win together because the price of Bitcoin goes up.
There are better things to do with your bitcoin besides hodling it, you can invest it in bankroll to make it grow more. I think the real winners is not the hodlers but the smart ones that make more bitcoin even though they are sleeping.
1734  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: New Government Rules Mean No More Gambling Sponsorship on: March 17, 2021, 06:52:35 AM
This is bad for betting sites that are planning to sponsor football clubs in the future, I mean what is wrong with that? I mean, its not like every kid who watches the game is going to be looking for those sponsorships in the first place, they care more about their favorite players than the stickers on their shirt. And its not the responsibility of the sponsors to make children not know about gambling, maybe to some extent yes but it is entirely on the parents that are looking out for their own child. This is bad because gambling sponsorships AFAIK are generous when they are the sponsor.
1735  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you a lone bettor or a competitive one? on: March 17, 2021, 06:10:23 AM
me either i used to bet alone and avoid competitions thinking that im too small for them but if im not destined to be poor and a small gambler, why not ?

i think ill have the guts to join in every competition that i found because if you are a big guy in gambling you are also going to get bored betting alone but your going to look for some multi play games and battles to make your betting experience more fun .
I think that everyone will eventually join a competition along the way, it is just a matter of time. I don't have any preferences because the competitive one in my opinion is a gimmick by the website to make more traffic in their platform and to have more players participate in betting, which is not that different to betting solo because you still bet, you just don't have the drive to do it everyday.
1736  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: World’s Ultimate Strongman - Strength Island on: March 17, 2021, 05:32:20 AM
To end this topic here are two videos from the commentators Big Loz explaining how things went down on the competition and giving his thoughts on the athletes on the podium (if anybody is interested, this also provides good info for future betting on the sport)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RYLBdqWJ0n4

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BiGpQO5bmgg

It's not a bad start to a year of strongman events and I will be posting more when info on certain events pops up.
I think that we should have more of this kind of things to be honest, with this we can see what is the absolute limit that a man or a woman can do when pushed to do it. This kinds of competitions need to be mainstream, no bloods, guts and punches flying out but just pure raw muscle. I will be watching this but I don't plan on betting anytime soon.
1737  Economy / Economics / Re: Becoming wealthy and social responsibility on: March 16, 2021, 12:05:55 PM

There are two sides to this. Rich people may argue that they are paying taxes at a higher level compared to the poor and the middle class and therefore they have less disposable income in terms of net proportion. For someone who pays 50% to 55% of his income as tax, it may not be possible to take another 10% cut for charity. But those who have a tax burden of 10% or 15% will be able to take that cut.
They can argue all they want but we all know that they have the ability to write off their taxes by setting up charity events or donations. I am not saying that the government should tax half of the of their income, a simple 1 digit increase could make all the difference. Why do people protect the rich when they clearly doesn't care about the people below them.
1738  Economy / Economics / Re: Tech companies no longer friends (II) Google & Microsoft on: March 16, 2021, 11:27:40 AM

Not saying they don't. I'm just saying that taxing them more won't affect their monopolistic powers as hard as you think.
But at the least they can contribute more to the taxes and more bigger public projects can be made because the big companies pay huge amount of taxes. I know that it won't affect but at the least they are being hurt where it matters, their finances.

It's a "better" product, not some bootleg product made by a random intern; why wouldn't it challenge them? And challenging a huge company doesn't require the smaller company to totally overthrow the bigger company; it just needs to take enough percentage of the pie.

Not to mention that even if a small tiny company or person manages to create a "better" product, if the product actually is great, he/she/they could easily easily gain investors from VCs. Individuals and companies don't need to literally build everything from the bottom without any capital, because that's what investors are for.
Will the company that made a better product be able to keep up with the growth of their product because if they can't afford that they can easily lose sales and most of the time, these small companies that get successful are being bought by the big companies although not in a sense that the main company is buying but their other companies, as I have said in the earlier post, big companies can sabotage the small companies, and one of the way is to poison the well for the potential investors.
1739  Economy / Economics / Re: Dorsey to donate his 1st Tweet benefits to charity on: March 16, 2021, 09:47:51 AM
Thank God that there are people that is pushing to make UBI(Universal Basic Income), this is life changing thing with the growing population and with more and more industries leaning into automation, a lot of people are going to lose their jobs and UBI could be one of the many solutions to prevent catastrophic things from happening. It is a good move for Jack Dorsey to donate the money from his first NFT to a charity because this can help in promoting his idea and make more people try to buy his NFTs because they are now conditioned that they are buying something that will contribute to the society.
1740  Economy / Economics / Re: Biden planning first tax hike(major) since 1993 on: March 16, 2021, 08:59:57 AM
I think these tax rate increases are very dangerous in current times. Sure the government needs always money, but there is a huge downside risk involved. The new stimulus package from Biden is expensive and needs to be paid somehow. Most companies are still hurting from the corona pandemic. Increasing their tax burden will just make it worse. And we also don't know if there is a 3rd wave coming or not. Who knows how severe the pandemic will be this year.
No it isn't bad if the ones that are going to be taxed are the big businesses like Amazon, Facebook and other companies, not to mention that rich individuals need to be taxed to because they do not contribute anything to the society and they almost have the say on what to do for our future despite not contributing that much to taxes. The only companies that are hurt in this pandemic are the family owned and small business but most companies have already recovered so I think that these tax hike is a good thing but only if it is used not for military spending.
