1681  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Fake bets on: March 23, 2021, 11:44:11 AM
I guess that all casinos need a bit of boosting to attract higher bets and more users. On this case, it seems that the streamer is kind of playing the role of the house with the houses money. Even if the practice is doubtful, it does not really seem illegal.

There is a similar trick from traders that would sell you their method. They open 10 or 20 accounts and they will only show you the ones that made outstanding results.
Well, that is how big businesses stay in the game, I mean you still see Coca-Cola doing their advertisement right? I think that it is justified because how are you going to attract other players when you advertise that the chances of winning in this casino is so low so you have to pay, you can't do that, you have to make it more attractive and as @paxmao has said, the streamer is playing a role in the advertisement.
1682  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Esports Prediction & Discussion Thread on: March 23, 2021, 10:48:24 AM
Yesterday I thought Furia will win for sure against Cloud 9 but it was all a flop show. Cloud 9 totally got them in both maps. They barely gave Furia any moment to find some quick rounds and get a momentum going. That loss has now left them 3 points behind from Gambit who are leading the table.
That is the beauty of most Esports tournament, you will never know until the last match who is going to win so you are glued to your seat to witness everything that is going to happen that will eventually lead final results. Also, Cloud 9 is a stronger team and more experienced than Furia when it comes to tournaments and the tactics so there really is a chance that they are going to do a comeback.
1683  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Strategies best used to play plinko game on: March 23, 2021, 10:01:57 AM
Many people dream of making money from gambling, especially from their favorite gambling games. But many of them do not realize that it is impossible to make money in the gambling game as the gambling game needs to have luck. If they can calculate their chances between the win and the loss, they will see that the win money will not be bigger than the loss, and they will have a big opportunity to lose money. But we can not blame them if they want to play gambling still and trying to make money because that is their decision.
These people are either trying to dodge the responsibility of getting a job that guarantees a pay if they do the work or they want to try their luck because some people that they know focused on gambling and made a lot of money. Not to mention that when they list the wins with the losses, they are going to definitely notice a downward trend on their wins because gambling wasn't meant to make you money in the first place.
1684  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Time to sell my BTC? on: March 23, 2021, 09:05:52 AM
Well it depends on your conviction, is it right timing? or do you need to hold it for quite sometime?...for further profit,  its too risky but if you're sure about your decision its ok anyway you're the one who benefit it first. Just make sure you know you're in right platform to trade it to ensure or double your money.
Not exactly conviction but the willingness because if you are not willing to sell it then you don't have the conviction to do it. I suggest that weighing the risks and benefits when you sell at the current price point with you getting a lot of profit when you sell it right now as one of the benefits or in the risk part, you might be selling at the bottom of a possible peak in prices, don't be greedy.
1685  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: U.K. Bitcoin trader to Pay $572 Million Penalty for perpetrating a Ponzi Scheme on: March 23, 2021, 08:35:03 AM
I would say that if Reynolds lobbied some of the senators on the US congress, I think that he would've been given a pass for doing the Ponzi scheme because there are a lot of MLM in USA that have a government backing so my hunch is that Reynolds isn't affiliated with any high ranking official so he is targeted and got convicted. I guess if Reynolds has a lot of money that he got from the Ponzi scheme, I think that the penalty is a just one.
1686  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Vs Future? on: March 23, 2021, 07:55:16 AM
We can never predict what's the future of bitcoin. It may become the digital currency that everyone wanted. It maybe the only currency that is used by everyone, replacing fiat. Or it maybe the exact opposite. It may turn out to be something disappointing. Maybe we will find a huge flaw that will make bitcoin completely obsolete. Probably a new currency or technology might be invented that will be far superior than blockchain and bitcoin. All I am trying to say is that you may never know what's going to happen in the future. Maybe things will be the same the next decade, maybe not.
I agree, what happens in the future is not in our control but the present can change the future so we all have to focus on what is currently on the table and make do with it and enjoy everything because as @adzino says, no one can predict the future so cherish it while you can.
1687  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's the most anonymous way to own bitcoin? on: March 23, 2021, 05:59:33 AM
You can buy btc in binance even without Kyc, though there is a limit to buy and withdraw but not doing kyc will serve as an anonymous transaction. Or if you are familiar with bitcoin mixer so you should not be worry with your identification and without the hassle of exchanging it into other coins, then it is better.

I don't think exchanging it into different coins and then back to bitcoin is untraceable but as I suggested, you can consider the btc mixer.
This is the best way I think to own bitcoin anonymously but I don't think that it is necessary to do that unless you are running away from something, I mean if you reason that it is for privacy purposes, I would only believe that if you are off the grid and your name doesn't come out of the registry in your country which is going to be difficult especially if you were born in a hospital or you have applied for a job and if you do so then the chances that your important details are already out there.
1688  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi Nakamoto theories and candidates on: March 23, 2021, 05:22:51 AM
I just wonder what the purpose was to hide my identity ... Usually people with such potential show themselves in public.
Have you heard of privacy and a quiet life because that is one of the many reasons most people that hides their identity, and the people that show themselves to public that has potential are mostly artists and not code developer. Well in this case satoshi doesn't want to be public so I think that we can't do anything but respect the decision, the revelation of the identity could also destroy the magic behind the mysterious personality behind the creation of bitcoin so I think that satoshi not showing up is a good thing.
1689  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Teams on your personal blacklist on: March 22, 2021, 11:29:22 AM
~
I am talking about teams with repeatedly strange outcomes/results or odds.
Okay, I get what you are saying, that is why I said that it will be difficult to make a blacklist. But what seems to be the problem with teams that have strange outcomes/results? I mean there must be a pattern to that and the odds you can just bet smaller amount if you feel like the odds are going to be big or bet a little bigger when the odds are smaller.
1690  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Teams on your personal blacklist on: March 22, 2021, 10:43:07 AM
It is difficult to put a team on a blacklist especially if you are not that familiar in the game not to mention that almost all teams can get some points and there is no consistent losers. But if I were to put an blacklist, maybe I would put teams that are consistently on the lower end of the season.
1691  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling firms helping Government and people during quarantine, literally. on: March 22, 2021, 10:07:36 AM
Hope that They are doing this action because they really wanted to Help people and not just for popularity and advertisement .

We have seen many action like this in the past that gambling company is making Help for Needed but in the end they are only making sounds for them to be acknowledge and gain more gamblers overtime.
If the government and businesses are working together to help people best to believe that they have an ulterior motive for what they are doing. I mean, you already said that this kind of thing happened in the past so what makes you think that they are going to stop doing this kind of thing now.
1692  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Good news for Nigerian crypto enthusiast on: March 22, 2021, 09:26:47 AM
The fact is no country can ban the use of cryptocurrency as it is a borderless currency, so long as internet is still use the citizens of that country will one way or the other fine a way of carrying out they crypto transactions. Even if the government ban crypto it can only stop it full skald adoption or it transactions passing through it central financial system but not a total ban.
They might not be able to ban bitcoin but they can do a crackdown on people that are using bitcoin in their country if they were to do so, Internet censorship and surveillance can be a useful tool for an oppressive government to use against their people. Good thing that this problem with the CBN is going to be resolved at the least from what I can understand from that Tweet, I hope nothing like this can happen to Nigeria again or to any other countries.
1693  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Probability of cryptocurrency apocalypse on: March 22, 2021, 08:49:25 AM
Considering human error, there is a possibility of losing your private keys but I don't think that the system in place is not going to easily collapse just because of one human factor, maybe if multiple vulnerabilities are spotted and all exploited then there is a possibility of a collapse but I think an apocalypse will be possible because there are people that knows what they do are going to protect it and try to raise it back up.
1694  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: May I share Trading Master to You? on: March 22, 2021, 07:23:49 AM

Yep, it is a real-time market replay tool.
Good thing that it is but the problem is that is it a safe one because it can be a malware in disguise you know, as @Sterbens say can you provide some overview and example, I don't expect results as it is just a simulation trading.
1695  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: May I share Trading Master to You? on: March 22, 2021, 06:51:16 AM
Does it simulate the real market because if it doesn't then it is a useless app because there are other services that offer paper trading and they are far more established which means that they are more reputable and safe. I think that this thread do belong in the Services Discussion though, you can move it by looking for the Move Topic at the bottom left of this thread and click it then choose the right discussion that it belongs.
1696  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is the central bankers trojan horse out of fiat. on: March 22, 2021, 06:15:26 AM
They can buy it all up but probably that time Bitcoin's value is worth millions. So instead they'll buy up all the miners goodluck with the mining cost and still not enough hash power to control the entirety of the network.
They will be able to buy a lot of bitcoin even if it costs a lot of money, I mean banks work on the principle of fractional reserve banking which means that they can buy this bitcoin even though they don't have the money at hand, that is how they are screwing over the people because they are the only one that has that kind of privilege.
1697  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's information insurgency on: March 22, 2021, 05:34:30 AM
Proud Bitcoiners are proud Bitcoiners. See them on Twitter showing their wallet with 0.0015BTC on it saying "living the life!"  No matter what, no one can take it from him as he has the keys. No keys, no cheese.

Bitcoiners was also ridiculed through memes during the time of the bear season. Memes are just for fun just as how flat-earthers are being ridiculed online.
I think that memes is a good way to make some recognition out of bitcoin so instead of being mad about it, I think that embracing it is the better thing to do because in a way it paints us in a good light that we are all a sport for not being offended by the memes that sometimes attack bitcoin.
1698  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Debunking the "Bitcoin is an environmental disaster" argument. on: March 21, 2021, 07:43:13 AM
I do believe that this problem with energy sources is problem of both sides, I mean miners can choose to invest in renewable energy like solar or wind but they chose to go the fossil fuel route, but if the energy sector doesn't change how they are getting their energy source then the cycle will continue. The only environmental disaster here is that we are still using fossil fuels and other polluting energy sources when the technology to make an efficient and environmentally friendly energy source is available already.
1699  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does BITCOIN make a person's life better !? on: March 21, 2021, 06:55:14 AM
You bet it does , Here in Calgary Alberta , girls on "Leolist " accept bitcoin for their services .
If that is your definition of a better life then I think bitcoin makes your life better. Jokes aside, I don't think that there is no one solution to make someone's life better, in my opinion bitcoin is just one of many tools that you have to utilize to build the solution that will make your life better, unless you have a lot of bitcoin like around 100 to 1000 or more bitcoin then maybe bitcoin makes your life better.
1700  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Safest way of long term holding on: March 21, 2021, 06:15:03 AM
The safest way to store btc are those cold storage. The hardware wallet would be the best example. However, obtaining hardware wallet like ordering it online would still not suffice to get the safety of your btc holdings.

In my opinion storing btc in an offline device like computer would be more safe having installed offline wallet in it. You should not afraid to trust this process and should not be anxious as what you have mention that it might be brute force by anybody wishes to gain access in it. The possibilities of having the access to your computer are only your family member or people living in the same roof and they can be more trusted more than anyone else. The computer system also can have added security features like securing it with password on specific drive where your btc keys are being stored.
Cold storage is more recommended to be honest just don't lose the needed credentials to access the wallet because you will be waiting for nothing. Storing it in a computer is advisable but given the lifespan of many computers, I don't think that it will be best for the long term because there might come a time when the computer gets broken either by accident or wear and tear, I highly discourage storing in computers, especially if the computer is not a brand new one and you are always clicking suspicious links.
