1361  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First Bitcoin ATM in Amsterdam on: May 01, 2014, 12:32:13 PM
we are working on it, we want to buy there coffie for bitcoin, of  course but we want to find beter solusion then bitpay as a point of sale, any one have a good idea let us know.

Indeed. Once every vendor accepts bitpay they are not accepting bitcoin, only a third party payment processor called bitpay, kid of like paypal or mastercard.
If all the merchants who adopted bitpay got told bitpay was stopping, they would not know what to do with bitcoin and would not accept it.

That is true, but I am afraid using bitpay is the only easy way for merchants to accept bitcoin and they don't need to care about the ups and downs in bitcoin price.

Well merchant adoption is centralized around one third party financial institute, bitcoin is broken, repeat bitcoin is broken!

First paragraph  of the white paper describes BTC as a transfer of value without the need for third party institutions.

My view is as follows;

I wake up in the night, hear a noise in the bathroom. I look over and see my partner is not in bed beside me, I roll over and go back to sleep I dont grab a gun and blast holes through the bathroom door to find out if it's my partner or not.

logic dictates he is lying or mentally unstable and should not own guns

He shot and killed her that is for sure, reasons at this point remain shrouded last I followed.

I think you will find the cannabis shops are a "coffeeshop' not coffee shop.

a coffee huis or cafe or coffee shop is where you get coffee.

Cointerra have no right to be paid for delivery until we receive our full contracted 28thps + compensation for lateness.

Is this just going to be ignored?

Where is Garrett's statement we were all told to wait for?

1370  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: CEX.IO Futures - your opinion? on: April 27, 2014, 07:11:20 PM
As time passes mining is getting less and less profitable, don't know if there is a solution to stop this.

When mining become non-profitable for some not-so-efficient equipments, miners would unplug them and difficulty will go down. Smiley

Just like it did when all the cpu's turned off.... then again when all the gpu's turned off..... oh and then again when all the 130nm usb miners got turned off.

Yip big drop coming soon guys......
1371  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First Bitcoin ATM in Amsterdam on: April 27, 2014, 12:18:38 PM
soon A'dam will have 2 way bitcoin ATM machines at several central locations.

There is just a matter of delivery and writing the bank end software. The machine itself is just hardware.

This has nothing to do with me but i have met the person behind buying them and writing the back end.

Raise demand for btc purchases.

We now have a whole different mining scene, where large companies dominate the network.

Ita my assumption these companies uave large setup costs and weekly expenses and they are not holding btc like minera did before, they are selling into the market daily to recoop costa while btc prices are higher than costs.

Maybe once costs are covered we may see a big hold again.

Someone is desperate to take some more pre orders Wink

Not my thread, but to set the record straight:

Hammers (our 1st gen) can achieve 10 GHs easily. Tested. May achieve more, not tested.
On the system level, we're 0.8 - 0.9 W/GHs depending on the power mode.

What I'm reading about AM gen3:

http://blog.rockminer.com/#!/2014/04/13/Testing_Results_Of_BE200.md

One month already and getting 1 KW/THs ?
We're doing better with our 1st gen, with nice margins.

Cost:

You got it completely wrong. Our 2nd gen (RockerBox) is much, much better in term of $/GHs then any 40nm ASIC out there.

Why with the compensations machines will our hashrate not meet 28thps + compensation for lateness?

Who considers you trustworthy apart from garrett?

You have no community history and we don't know your background.

For garrett to say in future he will keep financials worries me, it means he will be back doing this again at some point.
1378  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It began in AFRICA!!! on: April 25, 2014, 09:48:19 PM
Africa pretty much skipped the pc laptop generation and jumped in right at the mobile tech.

Being able to backup and hide your wealth in poorer countries is a great advantage, cryptos suit the developing countries, they just need easier access.

Do not get taxi's unless a group is splitting the fair. Taxi's are a rip off. Especially when The Netherlands such a great public transport system.

If anyone wants a cycling tour of the city send me a PM, no charge, just fun. Enjoy Amsterdam folks, its a beautiful personal city.

I recommend getting a pass for the trams but cycling is cool too if you can be bothered. Can't wait to go back sometime, I only hope there's a few places accepting Bitcoin by then.

they are growing in A'dam. A few oriental restaurants are taking. thuisbezorgd pretty much means every takeaway in NL accepts BTC via a third party.

As someone from the UK who moved to A'dam 1.5 years ago, I f*cking love cycling round this city, it's small and every where is sooooo accessible on a bike and i am not just talking the central canal belt.

The UK messed up big style IMO by not providing facilities and paths for cyclists through out the country over the last 50 years. To dependent on the automobile and fuel,  the dutch have been there before and now mostly all ride bikes.
