1861  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A user here threatened to multi fork Gamecoin within 24 hours. What can we do? on: January 31, 2014, 12:56:03 PM
this was a very interesting read, morals aside, if the coin be attacked so easy this is a valuable lesson to all parties invested in something so weak.

I will take a look into it for you, I might be able to make it compatible with the S4 and more if possible. I will get back to you on that in the next week or so.

Thanks for the reply, please get in touch next week and we can see what can be put together.

@elasticband

try adding a comma between
"api-allow": "W:0/0"
and
"load-balance" : true

Thank you! it says it is connected to multiple pools now Smiley Hopefully we get a roughly equal distribution of power

So BFGminer says "connected to multiple pools with block change notify"

It is currently only mining on one pool though  Huh

edit: "balance" : true seems to work over "load-balance" : true

I retract the above statement Balance gives a tiny hashrate with many rejects  Huh

how can i set my KnC to mine 50% on 2 pools?

From the web interface

Mining
Manual Edit Mode

Add a line
"load-balance" : true,

Restart CGMiner

I tried that, but when i add anything the "normal edit" & "save" button go grey and i can no longer click them  Huh

would it matter i am using BFG and not CG?

Applications i have tried or used in place of BitCare

Bitcoinium  - Used the price tickers on this app for a long time, so much so that it is one of the few apps that i have actually paid for as i really do use it all the time.
the mining monitor widget suffices for my btcguild account, but it fails on the multi api keys for btcguild. Hashrate notification only kicks in if hashrate meets 0....... this is not practical at all

pool watch - Monitoring a second btcguild account, it provides the general stats you would want and i think it gives a downtime alert, although yet to have used this function.

Bitwid - Invalid API key - fail

MinewatcherBeta - Never loads, does not like API key

cryptocoin monitor - used this for monitoring ALT pools int he past, it actually provides multi API key support so is a okay replacement application but it does not offer any widgets and no downtime alearts to my knowledge

miner status - one API key, has widget, no alerts and if i remember does not 100% function, hangs when refreshing sometimes.

1869  Bitcoin / Project Development / Mining Monitor app like BitCare wanted, will PAY for the development. on: January 30, 2014, 11:43:00 AM
I was and still am a big fan on this application Bitcare, so  much so many people i have met in person now use it to monitor their miners.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.cryptcoins.btcare

I liked it because i monitor 4 x BTCguild accounts, each requires their own API key, BitCare allowed for multiple API keys for the one pool, All hash rate and rewards were visible under the one screen with a simple click.

I upgraded my phone from the S3 to the S4 and Bitcare is no longer compatible, I have tried contacting the developer but none of the published email address's for them work and all emails bounce back.

I have tried other apps, either they don't work, they don't allow for multiple API keys for the one pool or they just plain suck.
At the moment i have 4 different applications/widgets running just to do the job that this one nice application did.

If anyone would take on the challenge of replicating BitCare I would happily pay for development.

If the Bitare developer is reading this, please get in touch!

edit: The app Bitcare offered several exchange monitoring capabilities also, or it might have just been Gox, I don't care about these, just the mining monitor function

edit: Bitcare provided a notification for each worker going offline. Very few apps offer this, many just seem to offer an aleart if your hashrate fals bellow X, where is X is a value set by the user.

1870  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: January 30, 2014, 11:29:31 AM
where to i insert the balance cmd? after each pool name?

I am donating half a Jupiter to a friend in need, but need to learn to split the load. I guess default is failover when you enter two pool details.

1872  Economy / Securities / Re: Starting a new FPGA mining farm/contract! Cognitive Resurrected on[Havelock] on: January 29, 2014, 07:05:07 PM
i have privately been told good things about tompool.org but someone i have met in person. They do not exchange the alts for you though, this would need to be done manually, or you can set cryptsy up with auto sale after deposit
1873  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BitCare for Android on: January 29, 2014, 05:29:34 PM
What happened to Bitcare - it seems to have been vanished from the store

It depends on what Android version you are running, it appears to not be available on the newest and the developer is uncontactable, none of the published email address's work anymore, all mail bounces back.

I use to love this app, My probelm started when i upgraded from Gs3 to the Gs4. I monitor my pool and three other friends pools, these are all BTCguild. BitCare use to allow for multiple api accounts for the one pool, no other monitoring app i have looked at allows this, jsut one key per pool. This leaves me suing 4 different applications to monitor the accounts i need too.

I would love someone to recreate this application with S4 compatibility - would happily pay for the development

380w / 180GH = 2.1111w x 205GH = 432.7w x 2 = 865w

thats my take on running two OC ants from a 860w PSU anyway

1875  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 open for sale again] The last round before the Chinese New Year on: January 29, 2014, 04:52:35 PM
Hm, very strange. Which model PSU? Corsair AX860 or AX860i? Only thing I could see is that maybe the PCI-e connectors had loose connections (even if well clipped) which increased the resistance and heat per pin.

Each connection had its own pci connection. With a load of about 175w per cable.

In all fairness the psu in question was heavily used. I had three 860w fail in the same week, all were RMA and replaced.

It was an 860w platinum not the 860I

2 failed and melted while running 2 x antminer (720 -750 load). the other did the same but with only 3 x KNC boards pulling less than 600w

as i said the PSU were heavily used, but still the one with the 600w load was worrying and i had noticed the cable connections were running pretty hot before it happened.

Either way all PSU were replaced by Corsair.

Can't go wrong with Corsair when it comes to customer support! Glad they took good care of you.

I don't understand why this happened to you though.  Huh When you say heavily used, do you mean the PCI-e connectors were in bad shape?

each PSU had also been used to run a 82GH(700w?) gen 1 avalon and about 650w load form KnC jupiters and then Ants, the 700w loads were probably pushing it.... that includes the Ants
1876  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 open for sale again] The last round before the Chinese New Year on: January 29, 2014, 04:32:44 PM
Can some of you please monitor your watt usage more closely?

My ant oc'd to 400mhz will pull 420-450watts, but I've seen it spike to 550+watts. It's sitting in the 490's right now.

If everyone else's does this, the PSU's some people are using might be too small for these spikes.

I was actually watching my power meter yesterday and noticed several large spike after i turned the remaining antminer back on.

Sold today and only running KnC boards now, at 160GH for 175W it makes in more ideal for me when paying 0.25 euro cent per KW that running 350 - 380w to get 180GH.

Due to limitations on power at home it is much easier and manageable for me to run over 2TH with the KnC power spec than with Ants

I melted the pci connections running two ants on an 860 platinum and that was without OC. Load of 720 -750watt.

Running them on OC will kill your psu

Well, I'm now a happy Bitmain customer.  Grin

I placed my order on the 23rd, so shipping took 5 days to Canada. The units were very clean compared to some that have been posted here. A bit of excess TIM here and there, but nothing major. There was a tiny amount of dust, which I'd compare to either 2 weeks of running in a pretty clean environment, or a day or 2 running in a dirty environment.

I bolted a second 130CFM 12CM on each unit (push/pull obviously) and fired them up. I messed up configuring the static IP on the first machine, and had to reset it to factory to regain access. Once that was done, both units were up and hashing within 10 minutes with static IPs.

Next step was overclocking, which took a grand total of 5 minutes per unit. Both are now running at 400MHz.

Power requirements for overclocking seem to be pretty exaggerated from what I've read while waiting for the miners to arrive. For initial setup (before transferring to my 240v server PSU powered "farm") I'm powering both units on a single Corsair AX860i running on 120v (PSU is 91% efficient @120v) with a killawatt meter. Running stock (350MHz) both miners consumed a total of 730w at the wall, or 332w DC each accounting for PSU inefficiency. Consumption @ 400MHz = 825w at the wall, or 375w DC each.

I forgot to take notes for stock settings, but one unit runs a little cooler than the other. The warmer unit has a higher HW error rate than the other by a pretty decent margin, but I don't think temps are the reason. Overclocked unit 1 runs at 41c/41c 2400RPM, while unit 2 runs at 41c/43c 2600RPM.

Ambient temperature where the miners are right now is 26c. They'll soon be happy in my cold Canadian garage.  Grin

So far I only have one regret... Only ordering 2.
