It's pretty, can you make it do anything?   Smiley
1964  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Klondike 1 Avalon Asic chip Mini USB miner on: June 21, 2013, 05:52:59 PM
I am interested in 40 units fully assembled and I will provide ASICs
1965  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Klondike - 16 chip ASIC Open Source Board - Preliminary on: June 21, 2013, 05:27:41 PM
Kinda interested in the k-1

I don't see anyone willing to make them though

I'd be willing to make them all day long as soon as a working model was validated.

And i'd sell them for a helluva lot less than those Block Erupters!!

Anyone who has purchased and received more chips than they actually need, let me know I will take them off your hands for a profit.

K16 took me 6 hours to populate by hand and is about to go into the oven after I run a couple oven tests. Jeez, there is a lot of caps on that board.

Good Luck BKK we anxiously await your results!!!

yes

K16s only require 35 watts max so you should be able to split off
1970  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: June 21, 2013, 10:45:40 AM

Does it have any value?

Send me the details
1971  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Goliath Miner-Cairnsmore3/4/5/6 Boards - Limited run for August Delivery on: June 20, 2013, 09:46:32 PM
Its all about timing.

200% is not worth it unless you can deliver in July
1972  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Goliath Miner-Cairnsmore3/4/5/6 Boards - Limited run for August Delivery on: June 20, 2013, 06:32:11 PM
I don't know where you learned math, but $4800 USD is twice as much as $2400 US

To put it another way, $4800 for 40GH is more than $2400 for 50GH (Price of BFL product)

And I will challenge you that a $4800 order for this 40GH device would be received at the same time as a 50GH device ordered from BFL.
September or October.

Unless you know something that isn't being said.

Small teaser
K1 with Avalon and some of the components almost ready for PIK and communication testing

These were populated by hand for tests only

Well done! And nice soldering skills!!
1974  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Goliath Miner-Cairnsmore3/4/5/6 Boards - Limited run for August Delivery on: June 20, 2013, 05:43:32 PM
Well I can't argue with anything you said and it makes sense.

I wish you the best of luck!

If the CM4 uses Avalon chips, counting the chips on the drawing I see 40Gh on the board.

Just for the board it is $4800 US which is $120 per GH not including other boards, fans, controllers etc.

So easily $130 per GH?

Is that a fair assessment?

That is a close enough number.

Ok I admire your honesty.

You also realize that apart from the USB Block Erupter things, your cost per GH is the highest of anyone per GH by a factor of more than double (closer to triple)?

BFL is $45 to $55 a GH
Terrahash is $50 to $55
KNC Miner is $20 to $35

So how do you expect to be successful?

Incompetency of competition, I recon.

He is up against the same challenges, all he has is a design, Without $360k worth of chips on order 2 months ago, this has no chance of getting anywhere.   You can't charge 250% more that the competition no matter what, you may be able to charge 150-200% if you could ship today

1978  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL BitForce SC Firmware source code on: June 20, 2013, 02:30:02 PM
For that upgrade, you are really paying for three things, the different firmware, chips that are known to be capable of 7Gh/sec between them and factory lifetime warranty on those. Plus if you have an early order, at the present point in time, if you're just a few days messing around with it trying to achieve the extra 2Gh/sec, you will have lost the purchase price in lost earnings.

There will of course be customers boasting long and loud about how they are a genius and how they got theirs to 8 or even 9GH/sec "for free", but these will be the lottery winners, the lottery losers will be a somewhat silent majority, well they'll be there if you look, but won't be in your face, leading to a false perception. Though expect at least one example of in your face nerd rage from someone who lets the magic smoke out their jally by over-optimistic under-skilled hackery and is then surprised and outraged when BFL refuses to warranty it.

^^^^ Speaking the truth!!!

K1 case and hea tsink design

Real nice looking!

I would buy a room full of these if someone would sell them at a reasonable price (like double the cost to make them) Maybe $20-$30 each
