So who is selling a Batch 1 order? Time is running out PM me!
1982  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: June 19, 2013, 08:03:28 PM
I would not sell my order spot for my little k16  for any less then 25 btc loll

That works out well because no one would buy it for that price!!
1983  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: June 19, 2013, 05:52:49 PM
So I put together a spreadsheet which predicts whether an order number will fall in the first 10,000, 20,000 or beyond.  I've linked to it below.

Currently the cutoff for the first 10,000 is between order 465 and 475.  The cutoff for the first 20,000 is between order 515 and 540.

Terrahash Order Tracking

Sorry my chip order on Order 461 is 32 chips and its paid
1984  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: June 19, 2013, 03:15:30 PM
Oh, now it makes even more sense to me...

Quote
sending $79,109.13 up front on 14th of May

Cloudhashing sent TH just enough money to purchase another 10,000 Avalon chips on May 14th, right when TH says they would have made a second avalon order.

Now comes June and Cloudhashing wants a refund, but TH has no money.  The only way to raise money for a refund is to accept pre-orders. Smiley

Seems right, and I guess I can't say I blame them.

The good news is that the offering to the public gets another 10k chips
1985  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: June 19, 2013, 03:04:35 PM

Interesting, so Terrahash did in fact take pre-order money from at least one big fish before they officially opened up pre-orders to the public. Perhaps the reason why they haven't been forthcoming about the 20k Avalon chip order described in the first post is because a lot of those chips are already accounted for.

The window to get any kind of ROI is so small that I suspect folks that don't get units by August will lose money. It would be nice to know which chip order (and the chip order date) is associated with each order in the queue.

I don't understand comments about ROI and losing money.

If you bought an 18GH unit for $900 and when it gets delivered the cost of BTC is $120 and the Difficulty is 50 million I am still producing $600 a month and break even is 45 days.

How do you lose money?  I think the better term to use would be "Extended ROI window?"   Smiley

I wasn't implying just throwing in their firmware but using it as reference.

From BKKCoins to a question I asked:

So if Terrahash is starting to take orders tomorrow and you are no where near functional firmware and they expect chips in a less than a month, will they be able to deliver a functional product?

Bkkcoins:
Probably. Maybe. It should not take long to get the firmware functional now. But things can go wrong and if they do then it could take much longer. If the reports from burnin of the ASIC being very fussy about it's data clocking are accurate then there is a good chance that getting ASIC comm could take us off track. Any change that forces redesign will mean new boards and at least a 2 week set back. But we don't know that yet. I'll be testing ASIC comm. initially on a K1 as it's much simpler and so I can focus on just a single chip. One of the design faults of the ASIC as far as I can tell is that it doesn't provide a way to confirm data receipt (unless that is what one of the debug signals is for - but they are undocumented, and everything else is very minimally documented.) So the only way I know of now is to feed data that should immediately or soon after give a result and check for result data output. There could have been much smarter communication design but for whatever reasons we don't have that luxury here.

Well, there goes my comfort level.

Did Avalong release their own firmware? Would it help or is this design completely different?

4 Weeks $26 each quantity 500
1990  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy] BFL ASICs, + Board Design Underway. on: June 19, 2013, 12:27:23 AM
Anyone figured out how expensive it would be to build and populate a clone board?

The board alone in quantities of 1000 would be between $20 and $40USD per board.
I have 5 quotes to support this number.

No idea on cost to populate.

I believe he's in Canada.

So... +1a ?

I'll be here all week... try the veal!

It took me a minute, yeah that's pretty funny!

Can Terrahash confirm that if we are below the 460s and already paid that our order will ship in the first batch?

If they make good on their promise, they will let us know that in a few days. It takes some reconciliation to figure that out.

1994  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy] BFL ASICs, + Board Design Underway. on: June 18, 2013, 06:52:28 PM
Someone needs to redesign a bigger board with less layers to get the price down.
1995  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: June 18, 2013, 06:33:19 PM
ill wait for them to have products "in stock" so i can do my math corectly

That will NEVER happen.

ya it will, wait next 2-3 weeks

They will not have any boards with chips in the next 2-3 weeks for you to buy.

What are you saying?

not them, im talking bout the market ...

The market as in competitors or the market as in Difficulty level?

Here are Steamboats CONFIRMED chip orders...  Terrahash Pre-Order buyers, tell me how you have not been CORNHOLED.

Batch 1: Order #10177, Purchase date May 1,2013. Expected delivery date early July
Batch 2: Order #10265, Purchase date May 11,2013. Expected delivery date mid July
Batch 3: Order #10325, Purchase date May 22,2013. Expected delivery date mid/late July.
Batch 4: Order #10425, Purchase date May 28,2013. Expected delivery date late July, early Aug.
Batch 5: Order #10553, Purchase date June 5. Expected delivery date early/mid Aug.

It appears that TH order # 10245 with a 5/10 order date fits right into this list? no?

BFL released just the PCB for the 5Gh jalapeno

Its in Altrium format.

The problem is you can only mount two chips on it (it has pads for 8 I think) otherwise it will get to hot and fry.

They are 10 Layer boards and they are NOT cheap to have manufactured even in 1000 lots they are like $30 a pop

I have already converted the Altrium files to Gerber files, pick files and Bill of materials files.

They did promise that they would do the math on when you would get your order based on the chips they had inbound, so let's see if they do that.
