They are priced exactly the same as BFL ($50 a GH) but they come without a power supply
2022  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: June 18, 2013, 01:46:39 AM
FYI: For anyone that's interested, they updated their prices.

Updated what prices? Since when yesterday?

I for one will be using BTC for the 5% tomorrow.

If you do so before seeing proof of a chip order you may be sorry

waiting to see the evidence of chip order  Smiley

Does it concern anyone else that the proof of the chip order is taking so long???

Terrahash:

Seems like there are still a lot of outstanding issues/questions:

Perhaps I can summarize them and you can answer them all in one message?

1. Are you providing heatsinks on the finished boards?

2. if not can you provide measurements for a heatsink that would cover 4 chips on the K16?

3. Are you still planning to start pre-orders tomorrow without a working prototype?

4. Are you still planning to provide a copy of your chip order today as you mentioned?

5. When do you expect to have a working protoype to show mining?  K16 and K64?

1. Yes, the boards will come with heatsinks.

3. Yes.

4. Yes.

5. Within 2 weeks. K64 is nothing but 4 K16s on the same board, daisy chained together.

THANKS X 4 !!!

Looking at the photo and assuming the board is exactly 10cm X 10cm
and assuming that the chips are mounted the same distance apart left to right as front to back,
a heat sink that is 2.5cm by 2.5cm with a hole drilled in the middle should cover all four chips.

Worst case you get a heat sink that is 2.5cm x  X long and cut your own to length.

I wonder if the same measurement would apply to the 18ghs board?  I guess we will see it eventually

My measurements are an ESTIMATE only. Please don't go buying heatsinks based on my estimate Smiley

Maybe someone from terrahash could give us an accurate measurement?

terrahash, do the modular boards ship with heatsinks?

This is all I want to know, have been waiting since Friday just to hear a yes/no.  This is going to be critical info so I hope we can find out today.

Why is this so critical?

Heat sinks are cheap and easy to add. If they don't include heat sinks will you not place an order?

I was under the impression that these would require a custom fit heatsink, not one you could just grab off the shelf.  If it's the former then I would, at the very least, need to research a source/price/availability on the heatsink and that may delay my order, which in turn may lead to waiting on another company.  If it's the latter then you're right, it doesn't really matter.

Either way, at the price we will be paying for these I will be slightly disappointed if that doesn't include something as cheap as a heatsink, even if I have to screw it on myself.  Grin

Well when you look at the photo of the board, a simple square heat sink that could cover all four chips with a hole drilled in the middle with a single screw should work really well. Just don't over tighten it and you should be fine

I don't read the 28 pages.

Go do that.

According to their website here:  http://terrahash.com/blog/

They believe they are getting their chips in mid July, so we would expect to see an order for chips dated during the first week of April for a July 15th delivery.

Look forward to the proof of the chip order today!

2033  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: June 17, 2013, 12:53:58 PM
The cost seems not possible since 64 chips would cost more than that
While the final cost did seems a little more than expected  Smiley

That's true, I didn't stop and do the math, their cost of chips would be about $510 for a 64 board and $128 on the 16 board.

2034  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: June 17, 2013, 11:37:47 AM
have you taken in consideration, that when your products will be available they will not be worth it, at current price, because of difficulty?

example the 18GH unit, with 36M difficulty, should not cost more than 2.5 btc

Thats our cost! 75-80% of the cost is in the chips. Maybe you should tell Avalon to lower the prices of the chips

Well if $250 is your cost for a 18Gh unit perhaps $900 is a bit steep?

Since a ready to run unit (including cooling and power) from others costs about $50 a GH
you may want to consider $40 a GH for your units   $180 for 4.5gh,  $720 for 18GH

I'd consider paying more if you could guarantee a delivery date of a working unit

2035  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: June 17, 2013, 11:30:32 AM

$55 a GH without a power supply without heatsinks (4.5gh)

and $50 a GH for the 18Gh unit just makes it too expensive.

You would have to be able to deliver before BFL which gives you 5Gh for the same money and you get power supply and cooling.

Please do not take pre-orders until you can show your unit mining.

You will help your reputation a lot.

Are these boards really 10cm x 10cm?
2037  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: June 16, 2013, 07:33:17 PM
Oh and if the ebay price is your Pre-order price, you can forget it!!
2038  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: June 16, 2013, 07:29:44 PM
What the f*ck??!?

Already you are screwing over people and you haven't even started yet?!?!
Your reputation is about to go out the window.

As of Today, June 14th it does not appear that BkkCoins has any chips as in this thread:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=177827.751

Someone is sending him 17 sample chips.

BkkCoins designed these boards no?
2040  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: June 15, 2013, 02:38:56 AM
I think TH has great intentions. but they are tied to BKKs completion of his project.

Pre-Orders may be pre-mature.
