if you cannot set up a wallet you don't belong here,

I am looking at a node with 67 connections

oh well, go mine someone elses coin and stay the hell off of my coins thread

There's no pools and the wallet is dead, oh well.
1262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Cinnamon Coin 1.4 (CIN) No PreMine POW & POS - Now on COINS-E & OpenEx on: March 14, 2014, 12:02:57 PM
blockchain is moving, remember pow & pos blocks keep it going , this is not a coin you can hammer and just easily exchange for btc , i intended it to be resistant to that

please don't make false statements about my coin

with 300 block a day target it is much slower than almost every other alt coin

it was designed for long term stability not 1 minute blocks that fork
1263  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Chicoin CHI - SHA256 based Coin of Energy Force | Update 0.9.3v on: March 12, 2014, 02:40:17 AM
Sadly no replies to my last post.

Let me put it like this.

I will wait a few weeks, if no one makes an active post here that this coin is alive , I may 'relaunch' a similar sha coin.

I could just relaunch this.....

I really don't want to see people who mined before lose their coins , I would rather join the network if it is alive.

If I don't see activity here in a while I will assume this coin deceased & would probably lean on a different set of specs if I redesign, rename & relaunch it but I am open to suggestions from anyone who may have something of value to offer.
1264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Which new coin should Bittrex support? Week 1 - Round 1 on: March 10, 2014, 10:35:15 PM
ok sorry ,
I guess  suggestions fell on deaf ears and this exchange is headed down the road to join most of the others .....   oh well

Your suggestions haven't fallen on deaf ears.  We're planning to launch many coins over the new few weeks.  The poll is just one avenue for getting a coin launched in our site.

Glad you got it resolved. Photon continues to be mined hard. Lots of people are stockpiling and I am too.

Agree except i think doge is the worst ever
it's designed to be 'innocent' looking but was obviously a well financed & backed project to turn not only the alt coin world into a circus but even these & other forums.

it will be pretty funny when the plug gets pulled & a lot of fools were left holding the bag

if they were foolish enough to waste btc or hashpower on this  they deserve to lose it

Why people thought it wasn't a scam is puzzling to me. It screams "scam" even more than your typical scamcoin. The claim was too grand, and anyone with an iota of intelligence would see right through it.

Doge is another puzzling case to me. It was was funny for about  3-days, then it wasn't funny at all.

But people are pretty stupid. The developers of both the above coins managed to get a few thousand kids to act as shills and it worked.

No offence meant to the developer of Doge ... you played the system and won.

The Icelandic crap, though, is treading on dangerous ground, with a developer making promises to a community which he knows he cannot possibly meet. This makes Auroracoin a grade-A scam.
1269  Other / Archival / Re: delete on: March 09, 2014, 11:23:57 PM
not that brilliant a scam, i never mined this, never will
the reasons are obvious

1272  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 84 coin support on: March 09, 2014, 11:06:43 PM
I agree, since I am the person who cloned 84 from 42 I think community support vs. 'hype' that surrounds so many other coins is important.

If it makes it of not is up to others, I did not premine the coin, i hold only about 3 dozen blocks of it from mining.

I have resources to see the coin will always have nodes & updated suport, checkpoints ect.

The rest is up to others.

Since 42 was such a success if 84 is not (at least as equal to the success of feathercoin to litecoin)
then I think it would be pretty direct proof that 42 was an inside job.

Who knows there are so many coins now I can't keep track of them.
1273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] PHO Photon (blake 256) NO PREMINE- NEW CLIENT - AT ATOMIC TRADE EXCHANGE on: March 09, 2014, 10:56:53 PM
If this has not yet been taken care of please be patient and I am sure BlueDragon747 will look into it.
Thanks for your patience.

I still can't change my account details on http://photon1.blakecoin.com/
1274  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] PHO Photon (blake 256) NO PREMINE- NEW CLIENT - AT ATOMIC TRADE EXCHANGE on: March 02, 2014, 06:09:56 PM
If you are confused by how ports work just leave the
port=x
line out of your conf file

As far as the KGW , You will never see me use it for anything in the near future or probably ever.

This coin retargets every 20 blocks & is having no problems.

Photon is immune to any multipool approach at the moment since the algorithm used for Photon (same as Blake Coin) is not scrypt 1024 or sha 256 d

I suggest you read the papers in the main ANN to learn the advantages the Blake 256 algorithm has over others.

Also multipools themself are another topic you should research.

The most profitable coin can change real fast when based on a thin order book.

You might do better picking 6 coins you like and mine them when difficulty and price is low (least profitable)
then hold them and dump the coins when they make it back on top or the price goes up.

The logo on the post above yours looks quite beautiful.

Hey developer, I'm somewhat new to this, is the p2port the port= in the .conf file or something else?

Also, any plans to introduce KGW to avoid multipool abuse? Multipool is killing all the altcoins that didnt implement KGW...
1275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Cinnamon Coin 1.4 (CIN) No PreMine POW & POS - Now on COINS-E & OpenEx on: March 02, 2014, 05:59:31 AM
I had a moment to check in here and answer a few questions.

As far as the most recent update the only change in the last client was a checkpoint.

See the source code on github if you don't believe me & compile it yourself.

Nothing else was changed although I was testing some changes I decided not to release at this time.

What you must understand is that proof stake coins are quite different than proof of work coins only.

The money supply of CIN is currently at 1.527 million coins

It has a target of 300 blocks every 24 hours and difficulty adjusts every block for proof of work.
Cinnamon Coin was born September 21, 2013 so with 64 coins a block if the coin was proof of work only you would expect the money supply to be over 3 million.

Instead of being on or about block 48,000 my blockchain is just under 37,000 in height.

I will be very honest with you the code was not written or created by me but was cloned from another coin that I studied and some changes were made the distribution model and proof of stake parameters to what i thought would be a very fair and stable coin and one that could sustain for a very long time.

Now March 2014 even more so when this was done the world of alternatives to bitcoin to me each had flaws.

If you want exact detail read my post "the logic and reason why Cinnamon Coin was created".

Also even more so today than last fall people are very impatient.

Everyone wants big block awards , fast block times, and they want it to be an overnight sensation headed to the moon when in reality it is all mostly folly and bullshit.

Here is the best news of all:

Cinnamon Coin turned out better in design for the fairness and stability I was seeking than I ever could have hoped. Proof of Stake blocks will always take priority over proof of work blocks. This keeps the network running (slow block time but stable) and rewards those who are holding their coins. The coin age requirements for Cinnamon Coin are 30 days and 60 days for full weight.

1% Interest Per Year

Not 100% a year like most coins (some are way higher) So no runaway inflation but you do get a reward and you don't have to have a lot of coin age to get it. (compared with most coins)

Because proof of stake ALWAYS takes priority over proof of work (saving energy)
as one person stated above it is really hard to mine a proof of work block, a few days I have seen hours go by with no proof of work block on the network.

A lot of people will not mine my coin for this reason.

If you type
getdifficulty
into the rpc console you get the proof of work and proof of stake difficulty.

So considering how cheap you can buy Cinnamon Coin at Coins-E or Open Ex
it is actually really cheap right now.

It seems to change hands frequently also.

I have seen several days where trade volume is well over 100k coins on coins-e
so that is equal to 7% of all coins changing hands in a day !!

If you are looking for a coin that is easy to mine, easy to sell for a profit to earn bit coin ,
fast with instant rewards or designed for 'pump and dumps'  there are lots of coins to suit you.

If you want to make a small investment in a coin that is stable, built to last, energy efficient , operated honestly , and has a developer who will not vanish and is going to support the coin long term wel ome aboard.

Once the nerwork is running at least a year I have several people who have approached me to use Cinnamon Coin for different services. (Many are contacts outside the world of bitcoin who I have met on Twitter over the years where I have a well established but personal account) Some of these relate to the entertainment business, music business, concert tickets, technology and other fields. Nothing is certain so I don't want to promise anyone things that may not happen.

I will promise that Cinnamon Coin will outlast all the 1 minute block time lite coin clones and most of the instamined & premined coins that clutter the alt coin world like garbage.

As far as the block explorer I am currently working on making a full block crawler for another project then I will make one for Cinnamon Coin.

I am also the developer of Photon (another coin with long term potential based on the blake 256 algorithm) and a full block crawler is a little more difficult to code due to proof of stake than something that is proof of work only.

If you have more questions on Cinnamon Coin the official support is at cryptocoin talk .

Cinnamon Coin is more alive than ever.

Thank you to all who support it.

1276  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: hashGenesis Block issue - Will pay 0.3 BTC for help on: March 02, 2014, 04:18:36 AM
I think Gavin Anderson once said "If you can't hash your own genesis block you have no business starting a coin"

Not sure what algorithm or code you are using but if you still need help tweet me tomorrow @cinnamon_carter
or stop by cryptocoin talk & start a thread.

I won't charge you .3 btc or anything for that matter all the info can be looked up but I am headed out for the night (i am in America Eastern time)

If you get it yourself & figure it out you will feel better about it.

***************IMPORTANT UPDATE TO Photon************£

Please upgrase your wallet http://www.mediafire.com/download/z1ymv2a3bvuuyc8/Photon_win_qt_march_1_2014.7z

The 1st post on the board is updated.

So is the source on github.

I uploaded a windows qt to github also.

Checkpoints were added in this release.

The p2p port was changed.

When updating I suggest you DO NOT delete your peers.dat file

If you do it may take a little longer to get connected.

The photon network is currently running on the old and new p2p port.

In a couple days I will disconect the primary support for the old port.

This will give everyone a chance to change over.

Development of other things is in progress for Photon.

As updates are available they will be posted.

Thanks again to all who are mining and supporting Photon.

I am considering changing the logo of the coin.

Looking for something that can capture a classic physics look & still be cool.

If I change it will need a public domain image.

So far Photon has been running smooth and many new people are jumping on.

The Blake 256 algorithm has many advantages.

1279  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Chicoin CHI - SHA256 based Coin of Energy Force | Update 0.9.3v on: March 02, 2014, 03:30:08 AM
I wish someone with the blockchain would post a node.
Someone went through a lot of work to convert to an sha coin.
I agree with the last person that a relaunch (by developer or community) is really not fair to those who hold coins now.
Hopefully a few people who have the blockchain will just leave your wallets on for a few days and let others get it, then we can see about getting some support for this cool experiment.
1280  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] PHO Photon (blake 256 algo) no premine -- AT ATOMIC TRADE EXCHANGE on: February 28, 2014, 02:13:41 AM
Please /

Dont mine this coin or be involved if you don't like the name, the logo , or anything else.

There are HUNDREDS of coins for you to mine or you can just launch your own coin with your own name and logo.

Note to serious players.... logo may change in the future

I am not someone who changes things just because a few remarks are made.

I do consider feedback from certain people I respect however.

Always open to suggestions and alternatives.

If I was not this coin would not exist.

.
really ugly logo Wink
