Anyone hitting this with the gpu builds of sg miner ?
I was thinking of 'testing' it , coin appears to be clone of quark in code base (not distribution model) correct ?

Had more time to study the source code of Riecoin this weekend for a few hours.
The more I look through it the more I like it.
Great work so far , a standout for sure.

Fyi for the few following 84, I am the dev. Someone is always mining this coin, not sure if one lone miner out there or multiple people. Difficulty remains low usually about .2 but it has done much better than I ever expected for this experiment. The most updated client will always be on cryptocoin talk , it was updated about a week ago with checkpoints Windows binary is here , was done March 30 2014 http://www.mediafire.com/download/dtuu5ipx9rctwzl/84+win+qt+new+checkpoints+march+30+2014.7zSource updated on my github also here https://github.com/eightyfourcoin/84Have fun , in particular the little unknown ninjas who are 'always' mining this coin !!

1000 pages of the most spam infested garbage and worthless junk you can find anywhere on the entire forum....... I guess some people still believe things are true just because they read them on the internet....... I would not shead a tear if this got 51%'d out ..... Probably never happen though...... Can we have 1000 pages already? Geez.

Updates on Photon.....
Merged mining is in development by BlueDragon747 and also by me on my own. I am probably far behind. I have never been much for mining in pools sticking to solo mining.
Last weekend I made 'test' sha coins to learn exactly how the merged mining of bitcoin and namecoin is done. I still have a lot to learn but it is coming together and once I understand that I will start to examine how this can be done with the Blake 256 algo. Without getting too technical there are some specific differences between the algorithms. Since Blake Coin and Photon are in part based on Bitcoin but also rely on 'number crunching' which is totally different it is not as easy as cloning a coin !!
I also got the developers tools for bitcoin and litecoin mobile wallet development and have looked them over. I think I could make a mobile wallet for a scrypt 1024 or sha 256d coin pretty easy right now although I have yet to do so with one of the many 'test' coins I run that have never been released to the public. Once again changing over to Blake 256 is another jump.
From looking over the various open source mobile wallets I see I will say they offer much less security than I realized and (I am speaking only for Android operating system here) a mobile wallet may be a 'battery drainer' to a certain extent.
We are in the early stages of building an independent blockchain and system with a different algorithm that has some actual technical advantages vs. the bitcoin sha 256d algo. Nothing will probably ever replace bitcion but cryptocurrency is the future, there will be alternatives and I refuse to believe those alternatives will be something like doge which is very poorly designed in every way.
Finally I am pleased to say that I have not had any direct contact with Atomic Exchange but it appears Photon is back open for trading vs. Litecoin --- A good match.
With the large block award Photon was designed to be a coin for everyone to mine and to last. The large number of coins allows for future growth.
Blake Coin is much more rare so when I was making Photon I looked to the 'powers of two' and felt going big out of the box was the right way.
Also remember that with Blake Coin and Photon there are NO REDUCTIONS IN COIN AWARDS PLANNED EVER.
Some of us remember the 'glory days' of when bitcoin was 50 a block, at some point we will look back at when Litecoin was 50 a block ect......when bitcoin was 25 a block.....ect.....
Both Bluedragon747 and I agree that cutting the award in half for the people who get involved in the future is unfair. I believe that by keeping the same block award in effect you are creating the best , fair long term distribution possible. By avoiding halving of awards in 2 , 4 or x years time no one can claim 'pyramid scheme' or 'only good for those who got in early'.
Photon has a dedicated developer (me) , a fair award system, and eventually will have all the other things that bitcion and litecoin currently have.
This is being done for everyone --- not to make me wealthy or famous. With no premined coins I have to hash away for my coins the same as everyone else.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with me I am not seeking public attention as an individual, I like my privacy. I have declined invites to attend coin events in the past and unless my personal feelings about a lot of things change I will decline similar things in the future. This is not about me.
I will continue to update and maintain the coin and wallets and you should not expect Photon or even Blake Coin to be 'replacements' for bitcoin or litecoin instead consider them as long term viable alternatives. One thing that you can benefit from is the low difficulty of both coins now. In the future it will be much higher, in particular if merged mining catches on and when new technology is developed.
Someone asked me in a private message that if difficulty were to go up on Photon a lot it would not be 'profitable' to mine. Very true. If you are looking for a coin to mine to 'exchange' into bitcoin or litecoin Photon is not for you. (At least not at present market demand and rates) If you are looking to mine a coin that will have long term support, development , and has real obvious advantages to other coins Photon (and Blake Coin) are excellent choices to mine and HOLD (not sell).
Unless you run some type of large mining operation I am not telling you to mine Photon 24/7 but instead keep it in your mining schedule regularly. If you have the patience (by this I mean a few years not a few months) for an alternative to what is currently available you may be glad you chose to mine.
Stay tuned and please support Atomic LLC --- They are an American Company based out of New Jersey fully licensed and allow exchange of bitcoin and some other cryptocurrencies for American Dollars (with a verified account) and offer trading of many other currency pairs (NO VERIFICATION REQUIRED) Another thing about Atomic is they have excellent security in place (read the reports on this don't take my word for it) AND they do not just list every coin out there..... Don't get me wrong I like to see everyone (well almost everyone's coin) get a chance to be traded at an exchange. I notice Atomic is run honest. I do not see 'junk' listed there for trading. I do not see 'inflated volume' or 'bots' trading taking up positions so you can never get an order filled or executed. Even if you want nothing to do with Photon after reading this you would be making a mistake to not include Atomic as an excellent place to conduct business that offers many choices and advantages you cannot get elsewhere.

I want to join BlueDragon in thanking you for lending some real help on the development side of things....... I'd be willing to help with this as ive always been interested in getting it working. a good idea if you are good with sql is to work out the sql structure (and the configs in use) here: http://github.com/60E/php-mpos About the worker auth, i have a module in my repo which will get eloipool to use the database to authorise users. Eloipool will also likely need the db query modified to work efficiently with MPOS or you will run into a lot of cron errors (i ran eloipool before i began work on stratum) Awesome this might help thanks any other help, tips, tricks most welcome will add that auth module to eloipool no problemo im in #cryptopools on freenode irc if u need any help fast (theres a few other pool ops in there too).

Есть причина нет контрольно-пропускные пункты не когда-либо были добавлены? Trivial сделать добавить несколько строк в
checkpoints.cpp
так
(50000, uint256 ("0x000000056b93597b8da9f3418592035011f7bdc01775f8052ab32be007ed7c3f"));

ok i gave it one more try, i compiled the windows qt from the last source on github
blockchain won't download connected to 3 nodes
debug log shows all orphans
yet weeks old,
i will check back in the future to see if anything changed but , that's it

GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT=100 sgminer -k sifcoin -o <host>:<port> -u <user> -p <password> -I 17 -g 4 -w 64 я получил лучшие результаты с 7970 GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT=100 sgminer -k sifcoin -o <host>:<port> -u <user> -p <password> -I 20 -g 1 -w 264 --gpu-engine 1180 ---gpu-memclock 920 -s 1 -E 10 Неплохо. Скорость x20 по сравнению с оптимизированным CPU-майнером. Как его запускать, что-то не понимаю...

I'm sorry I cannot participate in a relaunch that wipes out the other holders of the coin, if i could have gotten that blockchain I could have restarted it from where it was, since in active for a while would have moved a little faster, If i develop a project or run a coin I plan to run it permanently.
I don't want to ninja relaunch this just for the hell of it, best wishes, i may not revisit the thread.

lol you could put 6 toaster ovens together too and have the same result,, amazing it never gets old hahhahah

How could anyone serious about bitcoin consider BFL as an option ?
By the time you get your unit, if you ever do..... it will mine about the same btc as you would with an toaster oven hooked up to the network.

The title....how 'we' let this happen..... What exactly has happened ? Who are 'we' ? Please do not state things like this and assume others just agree with you. Price changes ? Is that what you are worried about Really ? The price of bitcoin has been changing for years. It has been killed in the press and by so many 'experts' for years. Yet the network hash rate is unreal. I never , ever thought it could get this fast a few years ago ever in a thousand years. So whatever 'you' think has 'happened' may be something that happened to 'you' or 'your belief'. If anything was happening people would not be mining. The original concept of bitcoin is the key factor not any price. I strongly suggest you read the original white paper. It is short and says a whole lot. You may feel differently if you take my advice.

I can restart the network easily, anyone could, that would really not be fair to those who mined before. The feedback I see here is it is 'dead' let it 'rest in peace' so I guess I will drop it.

Huge news ! Seeing this too late to compile & test drive now but I sure will tomorrow night What is your preference of crypto for donations and thank you.

If someone can activate a node of the sha version so I can get the blockchain i may take over if orig. devs are gone.
