2701  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best Hash/Watt GPU Setup, Undervolting on: November 21, 2013, 12:03:47 AM
I read somewhere that Windows 7 has trouble seeing more than 3 video cards. Is this still a problem? Was it ever?

I also want to build something to mine scrypt coins. Right now I have some USB asics and a few computers doing some CPU mining. If you were going to build a rig, lets say with 6 video cards R9 280x. Which motherboard would you choose? Has anyone tried that new asrock?

2702  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Help im new Minning with TerraMiner IV – 2TH/s on: November 20, 2013, 09:34:16 PM
Chances are you will not get your investment back. Unless of course bitcoins skyrocket over $1000.00 or you solo and find a block. Good luck.

If I were to buy one I would point it at PPC and hold it. Its a gamble but it could make you rich one day.

2704  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If You Had $100 to invest in one Alt-Coin, Which one and Why? on: November 18, 2013, 08:45:18 PM
Why is nobody talking about Emunie. That'll be the future!

I thought today was the launch.

I went to their website http://emunie.com/

And nothing. And the download link doesn't work.  Huh

LOL! me too. It looks like it launched in late June then lost support. Not much action on their forums, the ANN post here is only 35 pages long. Not much happening with eMunie. I didn't even check to see if I can mine it or not. Another one bytes the dust?

What about Protoshares? They seem to have taken off from day 1. For $100.00 you can get about 10 of them.
2705  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Datacoin] Datacoin blockchain start announcement (just launched) on: November 18, 2013, 03:41:46 AM
Blocks flying like crazy, this reminds me of the Protoshares launch. Does anyone know if there is a stand alone miner that can be pointed at the wallet?
2706  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: PTS Pool issues?!?!?!..... on: November 16, 2013, 04:10:34 PM
Beeeeer's backend is still working, at least it appears to be. My miners are connected and submitting shares.
2707  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it possible these new altcoin hit $1? on: November 16, 2013, 04:00:22 PM
Protoshares are trading in China for $10.00/ea this morning. Protoshares was just released 11 days ago. Holy crap!! once the Chinese catch on there will be another 10 million miners. What will happen to the prices of alt coins then? If your not hording coins, as many as possible, then your nuts!

I need to get myself some good scrypt mining equipment me thinks.

What are your thoughts on Novacoin? Its also trading pretty high.
2708  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Propose Scammer Tags for any Dev who created dead coins on: November 14, 2013, 02:20:42 AM
It may be true that some devs developed coins for quick profit, but in the near future we will find that there are not enough coins. When the money starts to pour in the demand for coins will far exceed the supply. As long as the coin has a viable network, it will be bought up big time and its price will skyrocket. Nobody will care if the dev was a "scammer".

Oh please god let this be true.

2709  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FreeTrade's Optimized Solo Miner for ProtoShares - 2.9% fee. on: November 13, 2013, 07:48:34 PM
Hi, trying your miner on one of my dual xeon servers. With the yPool miner I was getting about 320 collisions per minute. Running 16 instances, yes I do have the ram to handle it. I get a total of about 160. Am I comparing apples to oranges here? If this is accurate then you need to update your solo miner with JH00's code.

2710  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Primecoin miner - need motherboard on: November 12, 2013, 09:53:01 PM
I did a lot of research just by sitting in the yPool chat and reading what people were saying when testing different miners. The guys with the over clocked Core i7 extreme processors did the best. Followed by the newest Xenons and Opterons. All of which are really expensive. So I thought to build several oc'd 4770Ks because the price is much lower than the others, its the newest 22nm tech. Lower power consumption. Once you add 16gb ram, ssd, power supply and cooling it runs about $1100.00 CAD. Expensive mining rig. I think you would need at least 10 to make a dent in mining primecoin. The difficulty is really high right now. You probably wouldn't see ROI on the gear, but its a computer so it can be used for other things. Like add some 7950 video cards and mine LTC at the same time.

Then after building such a beast you have to ask yourself, do I leave it on 24/7 mining coin or use it for gaming? GAMING!!!

2711  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Primecoin miner - need motherboard on: November 12, 2013, 07:49:32 PM
I wouldn't bother with Xeons. I have some here that I mine with and to tell you the truth, the Core i5 2500k's find more blocks than those xeons. Maybe it was the protoshares miner algo or something..

This is what I plan to build as a primecoin, protoshares mining computer. Asus Z87 mobo, Core i7 4770k, 16Gb ddr3 2400 ram or faster, corsair h100i cooler or better, a good quality power supply. Overclock the cpu to 4.6ghz.  Set the corsair cooler to full blast. have fun. The 16gb ram sounds excessive but from what I read mining bitshares will require that amount.

Oh, and stay away from AMD cpus. The Intel ones work better with mining.

Looks like a coin with a lot of potential. Just imagine all the people running folding at home, now they can actually make money at the same time! Awesome idea!! Can't wait for the launch, I'm going to throw everything I have at this one.

2713  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SRC] SecureCoin | A Fast and Secure Version of Bitcoin | LAUNCHED on: November 08, 2013, 02:31:45 AM
What is currently the best miner for this coin?

This is the one that I am using. https://docs.google.com/file/d/0BxKqW4aMUczmaTVfWjZEdnpqLVk/edit?usp=sharing&pli=1

I think its the fastest one for all quark-algo coins. If someone knows otherwise please chime in.

Anyone mining should have equal opportunity to mint PoS blocks. I don't believe in giving the rich anymore perks than they already have.

2717  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Trying solo mining primecoins with a intel core i5 on: October 24, 2013, 04:04:40 PM
Join Ypool.net and check the chat logs, there you will find high performance miners. I suggest using Aerocloud's T15. You'll have the best results with that. Do not bother solo mining as most of the miners do not solo to the wallet. If you insist on solo mining then get the high performance client HP11. CGminer is not for this coin. This is a CPU only coin at the moment. GPU miners are in development.

2718  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ZEU - ZeusCoin - New PoW coin with random blocks | No Premine on: October 10, 2013, 08:22:07 PM
So many coins to mine, I think I'm going to have to pass on this one. Good luck with your coin Zeus.

Didn't the price of BTC drop suddenly when Atlantis went down? Now this. I suspect the price will drop again once this get all over the news. As for copycat sites, there are some already. The have been trying to compete with Silk Road, a few even allow firearms!

2720  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Which one to buy right now ASICMiner Blade or CoinTerra? on: October 01, 2013, 12:32:41 AM
Hah! I was in the same dilemma a week ago. I did make a decision however.

So with the blades, they will cost you roughly the same as the Cointerra. The upside is that you get them right away. So you can start making BTC right away, before the difficulty goes nuts, which it will. On the other side you have the Cointerra that you have to wait a month for, but its 10x faster. Thats mega. I think the Blades life will expire when you hit January/Feb if the Diff keeps going the way it is. With the Cointerra, maybe the Diff slows down a bit for a few months, maybe not. Worst case scenario, with the cointerra you will have something that is 10x faster and worth more in the end. Plus it would make a great alt coin raper.

Now if you really want to roll the dice, get the blades now and mine, sell them in January when your Cointerra comes in.. Yes buy both and keep one.

Oh, so what did I do? I ordered the Cointerra without their protection and am praying it comes on time. Anyone know of a reliable god?
