I'm thinking the dev is working on his other project, Quebec Coin.
1762  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why AIDEN is not famous yet? on: April 14, 2014, 04:06:53 PM
Give it time, the scam coins go up and down fast because they are pumped. Real coins take some time. Look at Blackcoin, just now its starting to shape up proper.

1763  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: wtf is wrong with the nxt code? NAS the latest GREEDY distribution model on: April 14, 2014, 02:42:33 PM
A little off topic,

With all these PoS coins around are there any that are actually worth investing in? I haven't done much research on PoS coins and thought it may be time to buy some, or not...

I'm not sure, my trading advice is deadly i would not inflict that on anyone.

Make a thread, and ask. POS seems a good way to go for energy efficiency... a lot of coins will introduce it soon i'm sure.

So back to nxt and the clones...

who can clone nxt and give more than 11 people a  fair chance at getting a reasonable amount.

I would be into a new PoS NXT or other clone that is fairly distributed. Faircoin attempted some sort of fair distribution, but then shit happened, the devs either got greedy or they fucked up. Blackcoin seems to be doing okay, it was distributed with PoW as we all know.

So I guess the real question is how to distribute a PoS coin fairly?

Facebook? - no many alts can be created and some people already have that.
Captcha with IP address verification - no some people have access to many IP addresses. Sysadmins for instance.
Airdrop - scams with centralized control
BTCTalk accounts? - no many alternate accounts held by members.
IPO - no it doesn't work for fair distribution.

I don't know if this is possible but how about this approach -

We take an established coin and use its addresses for fair distribution for this example lets say we decide to use LTC. A snapshot of the LTC blockchain is taken at a set date. The PoS coin uses the addresses to hand out coins. If you have say 5 addresses in your LTC wallet you'll be able to import those into the new PoS coin and for each one you get a set amount of new PoS coins. Can something like this work? Kinda like what Protoshares does.

1773  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN][BDC]The birth of BLACK DRAGON COIN: unique scrypt-jane fantasy coin on: April 11, 2014, 08:34:25 PM
premine no thanks

Don't tell me you're the guy who donates his coins to the dev teams to support them?
Oh wait. The time your GPUs are working real hard to mine is more expensive than the time, money and hard thinking this coin's devs are putting into. So they deserve nothing, they should do everything for free, so only the hard working miners can benefit from it.
Oh, and of course we demand free support for the rest of their life, otherwise they are scamers, correct?

An honest statement about premine percentage and how it is going to be used (even for sallaries) is better than a coin that dies because the dev has real life issues and can't compensate with development at the same time.
Besides, can you tell me why you mine coins? To support the idea? Because it's fun to pay the electric bill just to watch your cpu/gpu/asic turn into a heater?

It's strange how people believe they deserve it all and the ones who gives them that opportunity deserves nothing...

Devs tend to destroy coins by dumping as soon as an exchange hits.  What would make far more sense would be to create a cryptocoin that sends 99% of the block to the miner and 1% to the dev.  Doesn't DevCoin do something like this, but with a disproportionately large amount going to the devs?

There we go, that is the fix then. Shouldn't be too difficult to code if its already in use. Now the question is who deserves what? Pools take 1-2% or more if they can. Devs should also take a similar amount, but NOT ALL AT ONCE. That is like me going to work for someone and saying that they need to pay me 10 years of salary ahead of time. The next day I decide not to show up because I opened my own business..(made another coin)... this happens often.

So new pre-mine rule, the pre-mine for the dev's fees should go to him as a percentage of each block.
The pre-mine for services such as pools, exchanges should be mined in block 1. THIS IS NO WHERE NEAR 1% only what is fair based on the coin's daily reward generation.
IPO = scam, money for something that isn't worth anything yet.
1774  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How much money you've lost due to SCAMs? on: April 10, 2014, 03:45:34 PM

That was his giveaway. You just need to think about people's motives all of the time, every day in your life. This is a life lesson you learned its not just about investing. Everyone has motives and every human's primary motivation is self interest.

Hi Mis069,

I came back to say THANK YOU.  I know I need to change my way of thinking and I've decided to do that starting today. I guess I might appear to be overtly gullible because I really feel that this would be a sad world if people cannot trust each other. That's why I was always the one who sent the payment first.  Grin

But the reality is that it's a sad world we live in, and there's nothing I can do about it. So I'm the one who needs to change. I got that now. Lesson learned.  Smiley

The truth is I've got hurt & used a lot in real life too.. not just online.. by people I knew and thought i could trust. What u said really makes a whole lota sense, and I really wish someone had said something like this to me earlier.

It really got me thinking. So thanks.  Smiley

You are not alone my friend. I got burned hundreds of times before finally learning that people cannot be trusted. Its a sad world we live in.

Come and discover!!

Yeah, it has a premine that you want to dump.
1776  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why the latest there no more new coin in Announcements boards? on: April 10, 2014, 01:26:02 PM
scammers are exhausted. the ROI on any type of scam is low right now.

I think this as well, everyone caught on.

1777  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How much money you've lost due to SCAMs? on: April 10, 2014, 01:10:09 PM
7 BTC so far, and I feel embarrassed  Embarrassed Embarrassed Embarrassed Embarrassed Embarrassed

1 BTC loss -- the now infamous StackCoin IPO scam where I was one of the victims.

6 BTC loss -- even more embarrassing.. I got greedy and decided to buy some newly released altcoin (name withheld) from a fellow bitcointalk members... We made a deal to trade 1 BTC for 1 mil at a time.. Then I got greedy after he promised to cut me a deal if I sent him all 6 BTC at once...

Well, I did.. And this guy disappeared right after I sent the payment.

How naive can I be? You ask? I'm gullible i suppose  Embarrassed Cry Cry Cry

That was his giveaway. You just need to think about people's motives all of the time, every day in your life. This is a life lesson you learned its not just about investing. Everyone has motives and every human's primary motivation is self interest.

1778  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AIDEN | First Crypto to use Scrypt-OG (Optimized for GPU) [altaccept.com] on: April 09, 2014, 01:09:33 PM
I wonder when people will understand that an algo which uses less power is NOT a good thing.

All the retards who are too stupid to sufficient cool their rigs are happy right now.
But they dont get that power costs are the biggest part of costs in a mining operation.
Lowering this costs only encourages people to dump the coin at a lower pricetag than normal scrypt coins and still get their profits.

So have fun watching your coin getting dumped to death  Grin

Question for ya, how many GPUs do you run and how do you cool them? Have you mined in the summer heat yet?
1779  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ETC] EternalCoin * Afterlife Currency * Launch Date April 10! * on: April 09, 2014, 01:01:04 PM
