1701  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Motocoin - Proof of Thought (human mineable) cryptocurrency. Launch - 20 May. on: May 01, 2014, 03:24:57 PM
Fun game and really hard. I'm so looking forward to this release.

So no mining whatsoever, just game playing? How does the blockchain move along?
1702  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MRO] Monero - Anonymous Currency Based on Ring Signatures - CPU only on: May 01, 2014, 03:07:42 PM
i would like to propose a conspiracy theory here. could it be that TFT and friends created a problem where there was non, as they see the coin going up in popularity and thus limit ability for people to mine or participate.
1. yes mining continued: is this true can a non techy very this
2. increased frustration: people may hold of mining while a better wallet is in place. thus decreasing difficulty and increasing coin accumulation of those in the know.
3. a day later and still unable to access wallet from first page. people are pointed to github but I do not see a link there that says updated wallet. click here and your parse problems will be solved.

would tft go to such an extreme.... just speculating.

1) I did find a block during the whole debacle with the merged block entering the chain.

2) This is the case with any coin. The people who know how to code can create their own optimized miners for CPU or GPU. Its just the way it is for now. Bitcoin went through all of that, the final solution being ASICS. New stuff is much more fun to mine.

3) There is another link just above to a dropbox where you can download the new version. https://www.dropbox.com/s/lcjr6fkkbtf4tse/MRO%20Windows%20Binaries.zip

Ironic - Bigman releases pinkcoin, truly a manly coin. lol..

1704  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE ANN] Conspiracy Coin (X11) - No IPO|No Premine|No Instantmine on: April 30, 2014, 08:45:48 PM
Everyone is making POS/POW coins, they seem the be the next hyped thing in crypto. Would you consider adding pos to this coin? Maybe even a limited pow period?

We have short attention spans.

1705  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [BMR] Don't panic! All your ERO are safe. Fix will come soon. on: April 30, 2014, 03:43:22 PM
Bug is fixed. Please update simplewallets.

Can someone compile windows binaries please.

1706  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MRO] Monero - a coin with strong privacy based on CryptoNote technology on: April 30, 2014, 03:14:41 PM
In the windows wallet when I try to refresh I get:
Error:Refresh failed: transaction extra parse error. Blocks received: 0
Bitmonerod is still mining and synchronized. I can't get any of the new blocks from bitmonerod to synchronize my wallet with the blockchain. When I replaced the wallet from a backup file refresh is working till it gets to some recent block and then it gives the same error, but Blocks received: 3200+. When a new wallet is created it gets 18194 blocks before giving the error. Is the linux situation the same? What about other windows users?

Same problem here. One of my machines has this error: Error: refresh failed: transaction extra parse error. Blocks received: 18194

Created new wallet, same problem.
Copied blockchain from another computer, same problem.
Rebooted (its windows), same problem.

I'm going to check out other computers now.

Yes, all computers affected and the new one I just brought up a few minutes before this problem happened. Looks like a network issue.

Sorry!
This is my bug with merged mining. Please wait about an hour - I'll call TFT to fix this.

I had my suspicion, now begs the question. Can anyone do this whenever they want?
1707  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MRO] Monero - a coin with strong privacy based on CryptoNote technology on: April 30, 2014, 02:46:05 PM
Network issue is known, I just woke up

Fixing it now

YAY!!!

Thanks

1708  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MRO] Monero - a coin with strong privacy based on CryptoNote technology on: April 30, 2014, 02:45:35 PM
Download a new blockchain (link in OP) and try again. Worked for me.

Edit: Did not. It seems to be a network issue like MisO69 said.

Nope, same problem, all computers. 3 different locations.

Anyone else? any ideas?
1709  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: HungerCoin Dedicated to Ending World Hunger, Anonymously on: April 30, 2014, 02:43:10 PM
Well, a great idea. Wish all the politicians on the world would relocate their budgets from army and defence to food production and supply. Then we would have our own paradise, or at least we would be one step closer to it.

Cannabis seeds are an excellent source of protein and omegas. Cannabis crops can be harvested up to 4 times / year in some parts of the world. The resins are medicine that cure most diseases, the fiber can be used for clothes that are superior to cotton. Every part of this plant is usable, it grows like nuts, yet most people believe its evil. Gullible fools is what comprises most of our society.

Politicians make it illegal, have their stormtroopers shoot and kill innocent people using it. Jail them and destroy families. All for financial gain. If you think a politician is anything other than your enemy, you sir are a moron.

1711  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [TWC] TwilightCoin | X11 Coin with Fair Mining | Fast block | ASIC-proof on: April 30, 2014, 12:42:26 PM
Again, you are not getting the point.
Your reward strategy is anti-miner. Your bounty and development/promotion premine is too high. Miners get nothing while those guys get everything. See now? you need BALANCE.

MisO69,

Thank you for sharing your opinion.
Our primary focus is on two things - development and promotion.
A coin which has both would have a good value and there will be enough miners who would be happy with the profit they are getting.

On the other hand, if we follow the rule you proposed and take a commission of 0.2% from each block, it would take a year before we gather enough coins to pay for Android wallet or to publish an article.

No miner will wait for a year and the coin would be dead before it got any promotion. And we don't think that's the way TWC miners would want us to follow.

See, I was right. This coin has no trade volume. No one is buying it because of the massive premine you have. How did you think this was going to work out?

Next time you release a coin have part of the block reward go to the foundation instead of a premine. It seems to have worked out for summercoin.

Change the name to social media coin SMC. Otherwise the facebook lawyers will prevent this thing from taking off.

In US law it is up to the trademark holder to vigorously enforce their trademark or else they risk the chance of losing it. That is why we see letters from lawyers like the coinye thing.

1714  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Maxcoin: how to make 100,000$ with just 100$ on: April 29, 2014, 01:32:02 PM
Maxcoin will replace Bitcoin and dollar

Today is a dollar bill backed by nothing but the U.S. government. The government can devalue the dollar at any time and one day the dollar may disappear all together. This is why you shouldn’t believe in dollars, or euro or yen or any other government currency. Maxcoin is the future, better than Bitcoin and lightning fast. Bitcoin transactions takes up to ten minutes while a maxcoin is sent in an average of fifteen seconds.

This is fucking funny as hell.

Yes their Army, Navy and Airforce, that they have liberally used when countries dare stop using USD as the world currency. Have you been watching TV in the past 10 years or so?

Good work. Someone needs to take these clone pump and dumps and make them their own, fix them up and give them purpose. No need to keep making coins. We have enough already.

1718  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]SummerCoin|X11/POS coin|Summer coin|Launched on: April 28, 2014, 06:32:05 PM
And why the fuck kwg was removed? At least only 50 blocked would have be mined in the first min...

Because it was requested after the first successful launch. There was nothing wrong with that launch. So it would have taken the pools a few hours to get their shit together, so what. Now we have an instamined coin.

again.. morons.

1719  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]SummerCoin|X11/POS coin|Summer coin|Launched on: April 28, 2014, 06:29:52 PM
