OK, Google and math

Google
1 US fluid ounce = 29.5735296 ml

math
0.125 grams per fluid ounce = 125 milligrams per 29.5735296 ml = (125/29.57353) = 4.226 milligrams per ml

Not so hard, isn't it?

Hi guys.
I know this is off topic, but what isn't in this thread.
I want to compare the amount of morphine in this http://mind-exchange.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/One-Night-Cough-Syrup.jpg cough syrup from the late 1800 with this contemporary http://blogg.improveme.se/theresemodig/files/2014/05/cocillana-.jpg one. But my math skills isn't good enough.
So can anyone tell me How much 0.125 grams per fluid ounce is in milligrams per milliliter?

Thank you very much, very kind of you.
Could I trouble you with another?
This time it is 4 1/4 minim per fluid ounce to grams per liter.

2-in-1 calculator and bitcoin portfolio advisor:

Any idea what the "♪ " button does?
It is probably a misprint of the square root symbol

A square root symbol that mutes the device is sort of odd Tongue

It looks like the manufacturer's logo on the upper right corner of this enlargement. I can't guess what the button does though.

For crying out loud, it's already been established that it's a mute button. Don't you read earlier posts?

You guys realize that the current wealthy elite sacrifice your children in bizarre religious ceremonies that involve sexual defamation and torture as a show of dominance right?

The wealthy elite of some tribe in Africa?

We all knew that the British upper class are more or less gay, and that they like to play strangulation sex with boys of various ages, oranges are often mentioned in that context as well.
That's kicking in open doors.

Why can't the bitcoin network instantly lock the bitcoin after transactions to prevent double spending? After 6 confirmations bitcoin is transferred and unlocked... Is this possible?

Discuss this in the Development section. Open a new thread if necessary.

Sorry grandad.

Hehe.

Thanks for the correction, but you should have been correcting me on failing to mention that I used the troy ounce, which is standard for gold weight, which is about 10% bigger than a standard imperial ounce.
Why can't we just use the metric system all along?
I mean seriously? When someone says "ounce", you can't even be sure, about which ounce he is talking about?

Once a system is in use, its difficult to break out from it. Its a type of network effect.

As I understand it the federal government of the USA have already adopted the metric system, doesn't all government agencies use it? I know for sure that the military does.

Besides, if all the other countries on earth could change you would think that the USA would be able to as well. The network effect now works in favor of the metric system.

Do you have a link on the Federal G of the USA adopting the metric system?

The metric system makes more sense and will likely be the winning system within....100years.

Interestingly, it turns out that the USA adopted the metric system already back in 1866, they just never implemented it fully in the states and territories.
Quote from wikipedia below.

"Although the constitution gave the authority to dictate standards of measure to Congress, it was not until 1832 that the customary system of units was formalized.[4] In the early 19th century, the U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (the government's surveying and map-making agency) used meter and kilogram standards brought from France. In 1866, Congress authorized the use of the metric system[5] and supplied each state with a set of standard metric weights and measures. In 1875, the United States solidified its commitment to the development of the internationally recognized metric system by becoming one of the original seventeen signatory nations to the Metre Convention or the Treaty of the Metre. The signing of this international agreement concluded five years of meetings in which the metric system was reformulated, refining the accuracy of its standards. The Metre Convention established the International Bureau of Weights and Measures (Bureau international des poids et mesures, BIPM) in Sèvres, France, to provide standards of measurement for worldwide use.

Under the Mendenhall Order in 1893, metric standards, developed through international cooperation under the auspices of BIPM, were adopted as the fundamental standards for length and mass in the United States. The U.S. customary units such as the foot and pound have been defined in relation to metric units ever since.

The 1895 Constitution of Utah, in Article X, Section 11, originally mandated that: "The Metric System shall be taught in the public schools of the State." This section was, however, later repealed.[6]"

You guys are day dreamers... money is flowing out of bitcoin, lets be serious here  Lips sealed

How can money flow out of money? Is it like giving birth? Or - in the case you take about fiat money like the USD, how can they flow out when they never flowed in? Where are the dollars hidden? In the secret key? In the blockchain?

More coins for sale on exchanges and OTC markets... only brokers, service men and people looking to flip are buying right now.
This is REAL MONEY flowing out of bitcoin... the same people buying & the majority getting out = $$$ flowing out of bitcoin!

You are clearly not a student of economics, the price has slowly gone up up since the USD 300 bottom on october 6. this means that there are slightly more buyers than sellers (you know, supply and demand sets the price, something you would have known had you studied basic economics). Who sells and who buys is irrelevant. If it actually is some of the big holders that are selling to more ordinary users/investors then I personally see that as a good thing.

Besides, the world is not increasingly hostile, it's in fact the very opposite. We have never lived in a more peaceful time, ever.

And that's why the counts in the old days had their own small armies.
But you have to remember that bitcoin is the capital. It may become more valuable in the near future, but at some point that increase in value will stagnate, and if you use your bitcoins for buying goods that doesn't generate income you will eventually run out of bitcoins. Land generates income, so does rent on money lent.

I own a little piece of land, and it is nice, I don't have to pay someone else to live, the small cottage and the patch of land that comes with it is mine, and that makes my cost of living a lot smaller.
Next to me is a castle, in it resides the local (rich) count, and he owns a heluvalot more land than I ever will. And so has his house for generations and generations. And they most likely will for generations to come. So, yes, land still matters. There are other ways to become and stay rich, but land is always a sure thing.
And banking, the Jews were, historically, usually banned from owning land in European and other countries, that made them go in to money lending, and that too turned out to be a sure thing. As the Yiddish proverb says "Interest on debt grows without rain".

Yes there actually is a castle with a real live count in it. Skabersjö castle has been owned by the house of Thott since 1600.

"What is causing the slump is people are dollar cost averaging out, everyone is saying the transactions are up, that's because everyone is selling. Those are transactions."

For every seller there is a buyer, you might as well say that everyone is buying.

And also, the jews say it's inevitable, And when is a Jew ever wrong about money?

 Cheesy  Bullish all the way!

yea i've been thinking the very same since the first bitcoin ambassy opened in tel aviv. Grin

In all seriousness don't we all pay a little more attention whenever the Jews are talking? I do, buying more coins now....

Absolutely, There was a core of seriousness in my statement about the Jews, they do know their way around money.

As long as the number of new wallets on blockchain keeps going up in a steady pace I'm not worried.
The number of transactions seem to be in a steady but slow rise as well.
It's when curves like these start going down that we should be worried for real.

how come its still falling?

Because the demand for BTC is dwindling and there's still no light at the end of this tunnel.

I don't think the demand is dwindling, it's the supply that out paces the rising demand for the moment. But that will change.
3719  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am pretty confident we are the new wealthy elite, gentlemen. on: November 01, 2014, 01:55:18 AM
I am not only holding my btc, but also mine them using cloud mining, and I started buying more since the price is very low. I believe that the price will sky rocket once bitcoin get international recognition and more people start using it. This will take time, maybe 10 years, but it will happen and when it does we (the first investors) will be the richest people.  Wink

If it is going to take 10 years to become the "new wealthy elite, gentlemen," then those of us aspiring for such status better have some decent will power and patience to be able to hold onto our coins for such an extended span of time.

A gentleman never runs.
