Futures is restricting btc growth from now on
How so? Not that I disagree... Setting an artificial benchmark for valuation And what does that mean? Well if they set a price people *may* elect to follow it. Why on earth would they do that?

It's obvious what is happening, but us HODLers are historically reluctant to accept the facts we don't like.
You've started off in the right direction... There is no cure for this situation except Lightning network
...but you ran out of gas well short of the goal. Pity, that. WuVer coin soon will go FUBAR, will solve the issue once and for all. There is "Bitcoin" et puis tout le reste. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PTrevCrZp6o

So who is considered an early adopter these days? Is it still people who bought in 2010, or is it now people who bought in 2012 or 2013? And dont give me that bull answer of we're all still early adopters.
Textbook answer: Early Adopters (13.5%) – This is the second fastest category of individuals who adopt an innovation. These individuals have the highest degree of opinion leadership among the other adopter categories. Early adopters are typically younger in age, have a higher social status, have more financial lucidity, advanced education, and are more socially forward than late adopters. More discrete in adoption choices than innovators. Realize judicious choice of adoption will help them maintain central communication position ~ Rogers 1962 5th ed, p. 283 literally So it's not until full adoption that we can say who the early adopters were.

But what if what we are seeing is in truth fiat-inflation? There has so much money been printed and it is out there and yet the inflation is just at 15% since 2008 while the amount of money has increased by about 500%. https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/BASE?cid=124Which means everything in dollar should theoretically cost about 5 times as much as it does today. Imagine 15$ for a coffee That's not really how it works, if the supply of money is met with a growing economy that absorbs the new money you don't get inflation.

They just love to trot out the Mike Tyson argument. Snobby fucks.
I don't know about that. What's the Mike Tyson argument? Back when Mike Tyson was getting into Bitcoin, that signalled it was time to sell. Because let's face it, he ain't no Alfred Einstein. Same same. If strippers are getting in, must be time to sell. Because let's face it... Whatever. This is why I purposefully avoid all MSM on the subject. Sour grapes and elitist muttering. I'm too old for it. Who is Alfred Einstein? Arnold Einstein's older brother. LOL!

Have any of you guys actually lived of grid? It's not as fun as it sounds. When I was a kid we would often spend time in my grandparents summerhouse, with no electricity. You had to get up in the middle of the night to keep the fire going, you had to pump the water by hand, you had to heat the water on the fire, no shower, just a quick hand wash.
They later installed electricity and it was bliss, electric water pump and heating, and all that (but still no shower, they were the old generation who took a bath twice a week or so, the rest was hand wash).
I would love to live of grid, but you simply cant make enough electricity for electric heating, you would have to have a wood burner or oil burner for that. And that's not my cup of tea, except as a backup. Hopefully though, they will soon come up with some kind of high capacity battery that makes wind/solar possible as the only energy source.
Yes I have and the technology has come a long way. A modern catalytic stove will easily keep the fire all night, nearly 24 hours as a matter of fact. Personally I much prefer wood heat. I currently live in town and I miss having fire in my life. Flat plate collectors on the roof coupled with a heat exchanger on the stove for hot water, or on demand propane if you are lazy. DC pump and some solar to run it. It really isn't that hard. I have like 5-6 hours of daylight right now, and overcast with rain, those collectors would collect absolutely nothing, and a wood stove, even a modern one, still need you to store huge amounts of firewood, that you would first have to chop. That's not living in comfort, that's more work than I do now on my regular job. I actually live in a small cottage in the countryside with a wood stove as my backup for power outages and just enjoying a nice wood fire. (The heat from a nice wood fire beats everything else). Solar just doesn't work in the north in the winter yet. Having said that, when I reach my first cash out point, I will install solar panels and a small wind turbine to make myself self sufficient at least in the summer. I do have collectors to my water heater, but as I mentioned, they don't work in the winter.

No mansion for me, more like a a hobbit house
but off the grid, hell yeah
You saying that because you don't have enough bitcoins or because you don't want to draw attention to yourself? By the way, we all gonna be fucked if prices reach $111k, so better have enough coins. I mean, we gonna be so fucked in the head from RICHes that we gonna have some difficulties figuring out spending, diversification, security.. and some fucking ass new standards that are out of our regular comfort zone... so gotta kind of tentatively start planning, so we not be so shocked... Have any of you guys actually lived of grid? It's not as fun as it sounds. When I was a kid we would often spend time in my grandparents summerhouse, with no electricity. mainstream news article ‘Make sure you’re closest to the exit’: Analysts say bitcoin could be heading back towards $US7000 BUY!!! It's crappy because some of us (like me) got into the game a little late and made my purchases at 7950 and 9500. Now here I am riding the waves. lol... Why can't you steady out at 11 and ride around there? why you gotta go up and down right where I bought at LOL Don't you worry, it'l go up again real soon.

What does the Swiss national bank have to do with the Swedish Nobel prize?
The fuck, I just got pwned. Yeah, Swedes and Swiss, there may be a minor geographical separation Interestingly enough, the Swiss foundation myth says that a Swedish king sometimes during the iron age ordered 1/10th of the population to leave the country due to a famine. they were ordered to go and settle somewhere else, and they wandered through Europe until the came to a valley in what today is Switzerland. They named it Schwys after their old homeland. That is now the kanton of Schwyz, and also gave name to the country of Schwitzerland. How much, if any, truth there is to the myth nobody knows, the name of the king is not found in any Nordic myths. But it would be interesting to do a DNA comparison.

Stiglitz gives the Noble price such a bad name. Not only because of these dinosaur remarks on Bitcoin but als his quest to abolish cash. The man sounds like a total aparatsjik.
The Swiss National Bank gave the Nobel prize a bad name, I think is the truth. If he weren't a skeleton, poor old Alfred would be turning in his grave. It's a rickroll. Who'd cut off their ball for a bet? What does the Swiss national bank have to do with the Swedish Nobel prize?
