Just going through all the shitfork coins to see if I can increase my BTC stash.
Looks like the majority of them can't be exchanged on any exchanges due to various reasons (non functioning wallets etc).
Does anyone have a list of which coins are actively trading and can be deposited at which exchange?
Would be much appreciated.

Yes please that’d be great. I don’t have an android phone so I haven’t been able to claim my bitcoin gold still through the Coinimi wallet.

You can get a brand new android phone from China on ebay for 40 bucks and free shipping, I just bought one to keep my free coins in. Will start to claim after Bitcoin Atom's snapshot on 25/26 this month.

Be careful of cheap android phones from ebay and amazon. Some of them have viruses installed on them by the manufacturers themselves, or along the supply chain.

Quote
The last thing you want your smartphone doing is sending your text messages, contacts, and location history to a server in China. But according to mobile security firm Kryptowire, a particularly nasty brand of Android software did just that, transmitting text, data, call, location, and app data to a Chinese server every 72 hours.

Researchers began to raise red flags last fall, when it was discovered the the data mining tool in question — called Adups — had been living inside hundreds of millions of devices produced by more than 40 manufacturers

There are other viruses pre-installed in some android phones besides the one in that story.

So what?

Give me an example where that is relevant to cryptocurrencies.
An actual example where something happened to that persons cryptos because of those viruses, not any made

I have to suggest that it is not a good idea to use a china no-brand android phone for anything crypto related. Most of those phones have customized firmware that is not subjected to as strong scrutinity as well-known brands/models.

I hear people say that all the time, "they have viruses", "they report to a Chinese database" and so on.
But no one ever explains how that is related to crypto, and I have never heard of one single example of someone loosing their money to a Chinese database through a built in virus or software.
Yes, they might track my position, so what? I'm only using free wifi from a local store. They might keep track of my contacts and apps, good luck, I have no contacts or apps on that phone, I don't even have a phone number on that phone. I have nothing but three cryptocurrency apps.
Stop being so scared of everything.

I think the real news there is that a Norwegian company has 31,000 employees? Who knew.  Tongue

And they are wasting worktime when they daytrade.

Given the translation, I don't understand the scope. Is the company forbidding trading on the company's dime? On the company's time? Or any trading -- even private, off-hours -- on the part of employees?

I want to know that too. If someone could post the original article in full (it's behind a paywall) I will read, translate, and give a TLDR.

Actually, it's a Swedish company, with branches all over the world, hence the big number of employees.

This makes more sense.

I don't believe there are more than 31,000 people living in Norway. Maybe Santa and his elves make up a lot of the population but still.

No, Santa lives in Rovaniemi in Finland. http://www.visitrovaniemi.fi

I have actually been there myself and can confirm this.

Børsen tells its website that Nordea will ban 31,000 of its employees with trading bitcoin.
According to Børsen, Nordea denies its employees to trade with bitcoin. According to the Danish newspaper, Nordea has announced this by an internal announcement on Monday.

Nordea's communications have been strengthened with Bloomberg's news agency. Afroditi Kellberg of Nordea says that the ban will come into effect on 28 February. After that, Nordea employees can not trade with bitcoin or other cryptographic currencies.

In December, Nordea Group CEO Casper von Koskull expressed his views on the bitstream of bitstream. He regards his unregulatedness as absurd.

- Considering that the financial system uses billions of financial regulation, I mean that it's actually a joke that we're going to give something like Bitcoin's, the CEO said to the Bloomberg news agency at that time.

During the weekend, Norwegian E24 reports that Nordea in Norway has banned thousands of employees from trading with bitcoin.

The article is behind a paywall, could you post it in the original language here if it isn't too long please?

EDIT: they moved the HQ to Finland last year after a quarrel with Swedish authorities, so I guess they are now a Finnish company.

I was shooting heroin and reading “The Fountainhead” in the front seat of my privately owned police cruiser when a call came in. I put a quarter in the radio to activate it. It was the chief.

“Bad news, detective. We got a situation.”

“What? Is the mayor trying to ban trans fats again?”

“Worse. Somebody just stole four hundred and forty-seven million dollars’ worth of bitcoins.”

The heroin needle practically fell out of my arm. “What kind of monster would do something like that? Bitcoins are the ultimate currency: virtual, anonymous, stateless. They represent true economic freedom, not subject to arbitrary manipulation by any government. Do we have any leads?”

“Not yet. But mark my words: we’re going to figure out who did this and we’re going to take them down … provided someone pays us a fair market rate to do so.”

“Easy, chief,” I said. “Any rate the market offers is, by definition, fair.”

He laughed. “That’s why you’re the best I got, Lisowski. Now you get out there and find those bitcoins.”

“Don’t worry,” I said. “I’m on it.”

I put a quarter in the siren. Ten minutes later, I was on the scene. It was a normal office building, strangled on all sides by public sidewalks. I hopped over them and went inside.

“Home Depot™ Presents the Police!®” I said, flashing my badge and my gun and a small picture of Ron Paul. “Nobody move unless you want to!” They didn’t.

“Now, which one of you punks is going to pay me to investigate this crime?” No one spoke up.

“Come on,” I said. “Don’t you all understand that the protection of private property is the foundation of all personal liberty?”

It didn’t seem like they did.

“Seriously, guys. Without a strong economic motivator, I’m just going to stand here and not solve this case. Cash is fine, but I prefer being paid in gold bullion or autographed Penn Jillette posters.”

Nothing. These people were stonewalling me. It almost seemed like they didn’t care that a fortune in computer money invented to buy drugs was missing.

I figured I could wait them out. I lit several cigarettes indoors. A pregnant lady coughed, and I told her that secondhand smoke is a myth. Just then, a man in glasses made a break for it.

“Subway™ Eat Fresh and Freeze, Scumbag!®” I yelled.

Too late. He was already out the front door. I went after him.

“Stop right there!” I yelled as I ran. He was faster than me because I always try to avoid stepping on public sidewalks. Our country needs a private-sidewalk voucher system, but, thanks to the incestuous interplay between our corrupt federal government and the public-sidewalk lobby, it will never happen.

I was losing him. “Listen, I’ll pay you to stop!” I yelled. “What would you consider an appropriate price point for stopping? I’ll offer you a thirteenth of an ounce of gold and a gently worn ‘Bob Barr ‘08’ extra-large long-sleeved men’s T-shirt!”

He turned. In his hand was a revolver that the Constitution said he had every right to own. He fired at me and missed. I pulled my own gun, put a quarter in it, and fired back. The bullet lodged in a U.S.P.S. mailbox less than a foot from his head. I shot the mailbox again, on purpose.

“All right, all right!” the man yelled, throwing down his weapon. “I give up, cop! I confess: I took the bitcoins.”

“Why’d you do it?” I asked, as I slapped a pair of Oikos™ Greek Yogurt Presents Handcuffs® on the guy.

“Because I was afraid.”

“Afraid?”

“Afraid of an economic future free from the pernicious meddling of central bankers,” he said. “I’m a central banker.”

I wanted to coldcock the guy. Years ago, a central banker killed my partner. Instead, I shook my head.

“Let this be a message to all your central-banker friends out on the street,” I said. “No matter how many bitcoins you steal, you’ll never take away the dream of an open society based on the principles of personal and economic freedom.”

He nodded, because he knew I was right. Then he swiped his credit card to pay me for arresting him.

I really thought we can win vs jews from WS - no way.

It's easy to tell what you should be buying.  All you really need to know is, ALL media is Jewish media.  Do you think Harry Dent actually buys all these ads?  HELL NO.  He's a shabbos goyim.  The Comex is forwarding all their contracts to London recently - that's a TECHNICAL DEFAULT.  And how could it not have happened when it's the only asset on earth not in a bubble?  The Jews want to keep people from buying physical silver or gold at all costs:

As you are someone seriously into metals you gave me some sound advice back in 2015 when I was about to buy silver at $16.
You said to wait as it had a couple $ to go, I managed to buy at $14.30 not quite the bottom but near enough.
I am in EU now where buying silver attracts 20% VAT so I am about to buy some gold which is not taxed.
In your opinion is this month a good time to buy also is it better to buy in many smaller units or to go for the cheaper option of one or two large units.
Many thanks.

Here you can buy tax free silver in the EU and pay with BTC or LTC. https://www.europeanmint.com/silver-bullion/

Do you have a link to that interview? I feel like committing sudoku by laughter while I'm still at it from the CNBC article.

Think you mean seppuku; sudoku is a number puzzle.
Nope, I meant sudoku. It comes from the Japanese word 須独 which roughly means "necessarily poison" (to death).

Just bsing sorry

According to Google translate it means female, but I guess it's kind of synonymous.

Yes, bitcoin is death indeed Smiley

Was the death of my 'wage slave' job, I retired yesterday Jan 14th...all due to BTC....living on mining revenue and in HODL mode on BTC and other cryptos...

Spent today, puttering around the house doing chores....been a wage slave so long..kinda clueless on how to approach this...retiring early stuff...

kinda surreal in fact...., on what to do...I've no clue, yet, in that, once you wake up retired...everything suddenly is OPTIONAL..you need to do that day!

....clueless presently...but I'll figure it out!

Congratulations, I'm hoping to do the same this summer.
Isn't there something you like to do? Collecting coins or whatever. Just do the things you have always wanted to do, and do them in your own pace.

Would it be a stretch to say that there are too many people on the planet?

Yes. Estimates are the planet can support about 10 billion, which we should reach in about the year 2100.

Watch this and be amazed.

Bitcoin Atom futures are up around $1300, I'm sure it's just because it's the futures market with little volume on a dodgy exchange. But, does anyone here know if Bitcoin Atom is any better than any of the other forks? and would it justify a higher price?

Apparently the fork will be on block number 505 888. Anyone know what date that will be approximately?

Interesting fact : France, Italy and Deutchland combined have as much gold as America : 8.5 T

Russia and China are still far behind with barely 2T each

You mean government reserves, rather than the population, I assume - since China probably as an entire country is probably a little more...

That would be 8,500 T for the US and 2,000 T pour China and Russia, not 8T and 2T.

but the US gold is reputed of 'poor quality' ... some even say that Fort Knox is empty.

We will always have kauri/ cowry shells to fall back on. I bought one on Ebay the other day, just in case.

It' going to have atomic swap and lightning network and all the other bitcoin goodies.
It looks like there is quite a devote group of followers that really believe in that coin. That could explain the high price.

if they doesn't launch the fork yet why the article of medium says that it was launched today?

It's not the fork, it's futures. If you don't know what futures is, educate yourself on the internet.

In Germany you have to pay taxes as soon as you sell your coins and also have profits > 600€, it doesn't matter if you get fiat, another coin or bananas for it.
So it's not only exit to fiat.

Damned ... your where first Cheesy +1 ... in germany you pay tax for all things that looks like money or has any value. we as the tax masters of the world. 80% of the books about taxes are about the german tax system.

But one exception, if you hold your cryptos more than a year, you can sold it without pay any taxes. But if you sell this earlier, you have to pay with your own income tax rate. When you earn more than 66.000 Euro a year (in a job or from other things), you have to pay 48% on every cent you earn from selling cryptos.

Did't know that. I thought you guys had the same system we do.
