Keep in mind the kids come first.  Everyone else comes second.

That means that making the kids suffer because the mother slept around is the wrong answer.
No. I come first. Then my kids - (...)

I seriously doubt you have kids. and if so, I feel really sorry for them.

Aaand there's the left with their obligatory ad hominem. No arguments, just attack the guy who says things you don't like, cause, like I'm right so you must be an idiot.

Family is what matters. I am the most important part of my family, and everyone is almost as important. Those brats fathered by someone else? Not family. The cheating whore who lied to me and tricked me into spending money and effort raising some bastard spawn? Negative fucking family. She deserves to suffer, and the other kids deserve their real father.

If you don't take care of yourself first (nobody else will) then you will not be of much use to the others for long.  Self first IS the long view.  Take responsibility for your own actions.  Set an example.
Would merit, but ran out. So QFT instead.

I  merited for you.

Also they spit everywhere and stand and piss in public places. They call me 外国人. Which means "outsider" or "foreigner" and i'm truly flattered to be branded so.  Cheesy

Yeah, I lived in Hong Kong and there was this word that was used 'gweilau' meaning white ghost Smiley

I thought they called us "roundeyes".

It's also quite sad that financial literacy isn't being taught in schools, not even electively. And it could be easily taught in playful ways that anybody could pick up on too.

Agreed. But along with basic financial literacy coursework, the book "Rich Dad Poor Dad" should be required reading.

Sometimes I seriously wonder if people have some unconscious desire to be poor and mediocre. I just cannot fathom how somebody could wish to be more than they are without trying to work towards that goal with even the tiniest increments.

People think their careers will save them, that they will never end and their wages will always be increasing to take care of their current and future debts.

Until their career doesn't.

My personal favorite book on this subject is "The richest man in Babylon" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Richest_Man_in_Babylon_(book)

Fun with flags

What does it say? I don't read binary.

So in my view the enormous spike and the enormous dip that followed was an anomaly that should simply be ignored.
If we look at it as a dip from 10 000 instead, the recovery we are seeing now is quite normal and we will see 20 000 in a couple of months, followed by 40 000 three to four months after that and 80 000 by years end. Unless of course there is another end of year FOMO, in which case we might go to 120 000 or more followed by another super dip in January.

Quoting myself.

This introspect navel watching is only confusing. Look at the longer term trends instead. It always goes up in December and always dips in January/Februari and then goes up until summer when it goes down a little and some sideways action, and then it goes up again in the fall/winter and spikes in December.
And so far it just follows this pattern, no reason to panic.

AI = Artificial Intelligence. Means it is fake intelligence.

Means, the real intelligence can still out smart it. Thus humans will control machines for a long time. Up until they are self-replicating, self-repairing, self-sustaining, and self-aware.

Humans are self-replicating, self-repairing, self-sustaining, and self-aware, and we can control them.
I think we can control robots too in the future, after all, they need energy and if we pull the plug they die.

I guess nobody cares about this: http://money.cnn.com/2018/02/11/investing/lagarde-bitcoin-regulation/index.html

Wow was 8000 the new bottom retest?

Where’s Smokey the Bear?

Maybe that IMF statement was too pathetic sounding?
Why would anybody give a rat's ass about regulation when decentralized exchanges are on the horizon? For the very first time in history regulators won't be able to dictate their rule upon citizens.
Decentralized exchanges need fiat on/offramps too, so they can be choked or leashed by regulation. That's the one issue that still makes me give a ratt's ass.
But wouldn't that be peer to peer also? Ie a private person sending money to another private person through Paypal or SEPA or Swish or whatever. Impossible for any bank or government to connect with a selling or buying of crypto.
3129  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 13, 2018, 04:16:31 AM
So, I thought I would be on topic for once.
Here’s my speculation.

I predicted/guessed that we would end last year on about 10 000 USD. (And this year on 80 000).
We did end on about 20 000 USD, so was I wrong?
Well, yes, objectively, but if you factor out the enormous FOMO in the end that made us go superexponential and just continue the more relaxed exponential growth you would have ended up on about 10 000 USD.

If we had gone down to the 6000 territory in January from 10 000 instead of 20 000, the dip would have seemed as a totally normal December dip.

So in my view the enormous spike and the enormous dip that followed was an anomaly that should simply be ignored.

This year I will try to sell in December and by back in January.

Guys come on. Nobody gives a crap about IQ debates, pen, or other stuff.
Just go there for that : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=9.0

I disagree.  I love pens.  Look at this one:

The Lighthouse of Alexandria

by Pelikan

You know today is gonna be exciting. When The Wall starts talking about pens.

 I'm excited.

Are they available at  penisland.com ?   Grin      (actual website that sold pens, aka "Pen Island")

No, that site redirects to a malicious site.   Anyway, the pen above is one of a limited edition run of 440.  It would be difficult to find and purchase.

Oh really?

They sound shit anyway. For $4,950 I would expect a pen that works.

Quote
I recently purchased a Pelikan Alexandria. It's my first Pelikan. I've got about 20 Parker fountain pens along with some Mont Blanc pens and some Cross fountain pens. Anyway, the Alexandria is also my first bottled ink pen. Heretofore, I've used ink cartridges in my pens. The Alexandria has not impressed me so far. Even though I purchased a fine replacement nib from Pelikan for it, it puts entirely too much ink on the paper even though I use a light touch when writing. In addition, I have to shake it to get the ink flow started every time I use it. In addition, I can't seem to get the pen to draw any ink into the chamber. I've been filling it myself with an eye dropper by removing the nib.

Don't spoil the fun by trying to use them.

If you have done them before you will know it is just about rotating the objects. If you haven’t, then it will take you longer to test the hypothesis.  So practice and knowing how the test designers think will definitely make you faster because you can take shortcuts. Faster = higher IQ score.

That statement have been answered tree times now, give it a rest.
3133  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 09, 2018, 06:13:00 AM
*sigh* no. IQ tests are simply pattern recognition. There is nothing cultural about it.

Pattern recognition has nothing cultural about it? I disagree. Try a "spot the pattern" competition in the Amazon forest against a local. Yes, you can use your calculator if needed (hint: it won't be).

It's this kind of patterns we are talking about. http://www.iqtestexperts.com/pattern-recognition-sample.php

Btw the topic of this thread is - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion

Bite me.

What do you guys think about fountain pens?  I'm thinking about picking up a Naminki maki-e.

Aren't they beautiful?  A little pricey but not as much as a lambo.

Love it

A nice fountain pen is on my list, I do have a good looking but rather cheap one at the moment.
3135  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 09, 2018, 12:47:41 AM

Any paper I can read about that? (the red part).
Education doesn't up your IQ more than very marginally. We need genetic engineering for that.
The Chinese are working on that right now.
...how I hated quoting that entire thing. Would also rather remain on-topic.

No paper to support my brain fart. But let's just say that rich people would agree. "You are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with." - Jim Rohn.

I do believe education can improve your IQ. It's an arbitrary scale anyway and if extended exposure to complex subjects forces you to concentrate more you will also score higher on IQ tests. You can definitely train for that shit.
And the assumption that homeless people are less endowed mentally is about as shallow as judging someone by the color of their skin. And I refuse to believe Logan Paul has above average IQ.
Paul logan I have no opinion about.
You can train for an IQ test, but it has been tested and shown to only increase your performance marginally.
Saying that you get rich just by hanging with rich people, really needs some support other than a quote.

You can stab people with it, stick up your jacksy, or even one's urethra, plug holes in aircraft fuselages to prevent depressurisation and use it to deliver children if there's no hot water and towels to hand.
Can a Lambo do any of that?

No. But I did pick up two of these.

https://www.vipertecknives.com/products/guard-father-spike-automatic-otf-icepick

Jam them into my urethra every morning as part of my morning workout, right after I finish my sets of slamming my testicles between two bricks.

You have strange customs in your country.

Racist is a meaningless buzzword, stating facts is now racist, yes jews control the media, and the banks, that's a fact, get over it.
yes blacks on average score much lower on IQ tests and commit a disproportionately high amount violent crimes?  is that ''racist''? don't know, don't care, but it happens to be true.

OMG People of color score lower on Ethnocentric tests. I'm not even going to dignify the rest of your crap.

Get a grip, you're a racist.

P.S.  This thread is about BTC.
*sigh* no. IQ tests are simply pattern recognition. There is nothing cultural about it. That tired old excuse is... tiresome.

And they do commit more crime. About four or five times as much per capita. Again, easy enough to look up for anyone who actually cares.

Socio-economic status is a far more reliable predictor of IQ test performance.  Low SES children consistently underperform

interesting read. https://pumpkinperson.com/2016/02/11/the-incredible-correlation-between-iq-income/

That article is massively out of whack. Bill Gates appears twice, the sample is way too small and the hypothesis seems forced.
The average income has much more to do with who you surround yourself with than with your IQ.

And I doubt that most homeless people have such low IQs. But if that actually were the case (globally) then we'd have a strong indicator how to prevent homelessness (education).

Oh yea, and blacks are also racist. How you deal with that?

Any paper I can read about that? (the red part).

Because you are a racist?

...chained orders...

I have been experimenting with JJG (and jbreher)s chained order strategy on the BTC/ETH pair.

Perhaps I am being dense...but I am just not getting it.

It goes down, I am buying ETH every 0.001, ok fine, then it goes back up and I am selling ETH at the exact same prices...it looks like a total wash to me.

Did I miss something in the explanation?

I haven't tried it myself, but I thought you were supposed to sell higher than you bought.
If you buy at 30, 25, 20 and 15 on the way down I guess you are supposed to sell the 15 buy when it hits 20 on the way up and the 25 at 30 and so on.
