1321  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Bminer: a fast Equihash/Ethash/CuckooCycle miner for AMD/NVIDIA GPUs 12.1.0 on: January 20, 2019, 07:44:55 PM
good miner for no more than 3 gpu rigs
if cards more than 3 in rig , gpu utilization fall down less 30% even though powerfull cpu (i3 , i5)
win7x64 , 417.35 , 8Gb RAM , 82 Gb swap

Exactly my findings too. This miner is relying too much on the CPU which becomes the bottleneck and can't handle more interrupt requests to GPUs ... he seems to be trying to improve this, and said v12.2.0 optimized cpu usage but i found no improvement for my 13 gpu rigs.

note: 1080ti only (3 card rigs)

i'm a 4 gpu per rig miner so migrating to 3 gpu is quite easy...assembling a 3 gpu rig and taking a gpu from other rigs makes me 4 rigs (of 3 gpus) hehe..

now, cpu observation, same settings.. q8400, q9400 and anything around that generation gives 15.x G/s, starting from AMD x3 720, x4 960T to fx 6300 can give around 16.x G/s and i7 8700k rig gives 17.x G/s

can mine at 4gb ram, 33gb page file in windows 7.

i remember back when ethminer was still the miner i'm using until claymore makes an ETH miner and continue to optimize it i noticed that my rig with a e8400 cpu has a bit lower hash rate than my q9000 series rigs even when the miner claymore made was already optimized, i replaced the cpu and hashrate increased.
1322  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 8th Alt coin thread. Or what to do now that asics are all over the place. on: January 18, 2019, 06:15:22 PM
Has anyone tried plugging a 64gb usb stick to use as vram? I'm not heading to my farm for 2 months and could ask my guy to plug in usb sticks, but not ssds. Hitting vram limitations on my 60gb ssd rigs.

anybody mining grin here? it seems 2080ti shines here with 1080ti as 1st runner up..

will GRIN pump to revive GPU mining?

Nope. Millions of 8gb polaris cards can jump on this coin if the farm owners upgrades the cpu/ssd. The profit is short lived, price already down 80% in a day. Kinda like zcash launch, the first few hours was amazing. First 3 days still decent, but quickly tapered off to the norm.

We need $400 eth + ProgPow to revive gpu mining.

yup, we need progpow on a huge cap coin like eth..just consider grin as another fuel added to the fire and they made a section (c31) for GRIN ASICs, for the mean time this can be mined only by 2080ti and possibly 1080ti "profitably" (i heard)..

i'm seeing a cycle here, like when HBM was unusable in mining and then they performed better in equihash then 1080ti's gddr5x was said to be useless, and they became the secret sauce in eth largement pill (good on other algos too), now the 2080ti on c31 so anybody who invested in 2080ti might ROI on GRIN's profitability--hopefully hehe

same problem ({"code":-32501,"message":"Share rejected due to low difficulty"}) for me too.

bminer 12.1.0 at grin-pool.org worked perfectly since 2-3 days.
is this low diff problem not also a huge think at grinmint.com pool since yesterday?
yes!

Working on it.. the problem is that I always have problems to connect to grinmint / grin-pool, which makes it hard for me to validate.

Will be fixed soon.

Win 10 works stable and good, but win 7 not! Win 7,  Rig with  6 1080ti  -  1.95 G/s per GPU , gminer  only 0.9 G/s per card.    Rig with  5 1080ti  -  ~  2.6G/s per card. Driver 417.35(was try 411 also). loading of GPU very unstable for Windows 7,  its about 40-50% out of 100%.
Can you fix it for win 7?

windows 7 here too...1080ti's behave like 1070s.........the number of cards trigger this issue

grin-pool and grinmint both have many low diff rejects.

How much longer should we have to wait for a fix for mining GRIN? Who writes a miner that sends shares of a lower difficulty than that requested by the stratum server?

same problem Sad
...other miners fine work.

where are you mining? grinmint has a lot of rejects, on sparkpool it has very little rejects, but spark pool don't show worker stats.

windows 7 and driver 417.35

only bminer can pull more than 5.x G/s which is limited to 3 gpus, at 4 gpus you'll have ~3 G/s per 1080ti

other miners sucks like GGM ~3 G/s and gminer will turn your 3 G/s to 1.5 G/s hehe

bminer works on sparkpool but sparkpool don't show worker stats..on grinmint bminer has a lot of rejects...and f2pool asks for your mobile number  Tongue ..hello? haha

v. 12.1.0

both windows 7 and driver 417.35

1080ti 1 card rig: ~6 G/s

1080ti 4 card rig: ~3 G/s per card

any possible problem with the 4 card rig?, power and temps are down too in the 4 card rig..nothing power limit and clocks can do, increasing to 120 power limit will gain 0.2 G/s max.  with occasional miner crash/restart.

with 391.35 on 4 card rig, no occasional miner crash/restart but still ~3 G/s per card

found the issue, to run at 5.x G/s for 1080ti ---->max of 3 cards only

mine with 4 cards at 12 G/s or mine with 3 cards with 15 G/s? .... got to assemble rigs again hehe

while bminer turns my 4 card rig to 3 G/s per 1080ti, this one..gminer 1.19 gives only 1.5 G/s per card

found the issue, to run at 5.x G/s for 1080ti ---->max of 3 cards only for bminer..seems amount of cards is an issue..

make grin miner too

Is anyone who want sell? OTC?

BitMesh will open GRIN deposit and withdrawal as soon as GRIN's mainnet becomes online. https://bitmesh.com/exchange?market=btc_beam#/

that's beam-btc in your link

i guess it would be fun if there is a beam-grin trade pair hehe

Ranking 423 on CoinMarketCap and the price is good around 7000 Satoshi. But why only have 1 Exchange and that is only on Cryptopia. LOL
Are there Exchanges which will be further developed by Bismuth?  Huh Huh Huh
Bismuth Exchange for Trade --> https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bismuth/#markets
Actually Bismuth is listed on 2 more exchanges, but since there is 0 or very low volume (under $1K) on the other 2, we can't add them to CMC.
The same thing goes with Cryptopia other 2 pairs.
Here are the other 2 exchanges:
qTrade  https://qtrade.io/market/BIS_BTC
Tradesathosi  https://tradesatoshi.com/Exchange/?market=BIS_BTC (+3 more pairs)

Finally I found a glimmer of hope for Bismuth trading on Cryptopia.
But maybe the latest innovation to increase the price and volume of Bismuth, will Bismuth BURN the Coin?

cryptopia burned them mt. gox style...your wish is granted hehe

I just started a GoFundMe page, raising money to send Chipless back to high school.

I'm on my 5th box of popcorn.... This is just too much.

Aww.....You didnt have to do that direct them to make a donation to the wallet on the first post.

And there lies the scam. He’s making it look like he’s doing something to trick people into donating.

somebody has a website and materials/parts...the scam is bigger than donations, people will purchase parts and will be charged with labor (installation)..at the end of it all thousands of dollars spent by the unknowing customer, wondering why his electric bill is till huge while staring at his wind turbine scratching his head LOL.

there are scams like water purification that costs thousands of dollars and the unsuspecting customer doesn't know the device installed was a typical 300$ walmart filtration system.

the sales pitch is 90% truth and 10% lies ..works on certain people, not here, even if there are some people here who aren't knowledgeable in electricity there are a lot of people here who do...this is "altcoin mining section" hehe

@chipless

since you show us your miners....show us your electric bill.. i dare you  Wink
1337  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alternative Electricity for Mining on: January 09, 2019, 01:09:46 PM
notice a generator set when increasing the load?.. you'll easily notice it if you have a smaller genset since you can easily go near its max load.

the engine makes sound, the sound of having to work harder, because the dynamo is getting harder to turn as the electrical load increases...by the way the engine consumes more fuel as this happen..

this part is where chipless lost the "chip" in the brain that process "where is that energy coming from?"
1338  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alternative Electricity for Mining on: January 09, 2019, 04:47:36 AM

free energy is bigger than bitcoin...bitcoin is however the best complimentary partner for free energy..go for it man..i support you.

PM me if you have an anti-gravity levitating device and a ray gun..i'm building an army and an empire once i amassed thousands of 150w exhaust fans  Wink
1339  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alternative Electricity for Mining on: January 07, 2019, 03:54:21 PM
the secret sauce is the permanent magnet generator, neodymium magnet style...right?

harnessing the power of magnets? magnet's "magnetic" power is free...while running the PMG from external source, the magnets creates an extra push?

so you are saying that.. that "extra push" is thousands of kilowatts?

I've seen a flywheel put an extra push but it wasn't that great...it was maybe 4-5 feet in diameter and very heavy..so I am skeptical that these magnets can push thousands of watts more..

to make things more simple to analyze, why not just make this..

example..

AC outlet---->100w electric motor---->PMG generator----> how many watts is this ?

Your answer is up to 2000 watts

You are using 120vac @ 5 amps for the motor then the generator to push 24vdc at up to 2000 watts output which is 83 amps of 24v charging power for charging batteries. The batteries and inverter does the rest of the up-conversion to the higher voltage and wattage using sinewave technology. End result up to 60kw. The PMG is rewound internally to produce higher voltage/wattage at low rpm speeds. In the end it comes to the magnets, the windings, and the drag of the magnets in the generator that determines the maximum amperage output. The windings play the biggest role in it all in my opinion.

yep windings is the biggest player since motors and generators are invented..

i would suggest sending one working unit to a reputable member of the community here like philipma1957....let him tell us that it is working..

this is really funny because..as metroid said an "exhaust fan" (150w)...theoretically you can run a 60,000 watts mining equipment from your mining room's exhaust fan  Cheesy ..

i really wish it is true because i will scale up my mining to 100s of KWs probably MWs, i will run all the goddamn GPUs that i can grab haha  Grin ...but probably it isn't hehe
