Is it really worth mining if you have 8 cent power however. You make a nickel a day per GPU but you risk burning out your GPUs or killing your fans. Once your fans go you will need to RMA them and pay for shipping or buy replacement fans on Aliexpress or eBay for like $20.

Hence it's better to just shut off the gear and wait until the $1/day/GPU days return, if ever.

I'm buying more of 92mm PWM fans with 4 wire if it worked..experimented with my 280x...the 4 wire fans functions like the stock fans (can be controlled with msi AF), if wired properly to the GPU board (GPU fans are 4 wire too)...

..will attempt modification to my zotac 1080ti for longevity, 2013 to 2016 i have 280x, 2018 to 2021 i'll have 1080 ti  Grin

..will test and clean each my year 2013 GPU risers with my 280x GPUs. i think a handful have issues...i bought newer versions looked cool (2nd hand)

..corsair AX1500i is a piece of shit...it will not function as a single rail even if the software says so, the engineers even designed a sensitivity crap that if my internet connection had a hiccup, it triggers the protection even it is pulling just around 1000w....hx1200 is better-no issues, AX1500i might work with a server that is just pulling ~500w or less as a masternode (might be good, PSU fan not spinning due to low temp/power).

just think about how much BTC you can buy now if you sold BTC at 15k and above? we are venturing to around x5 amount of BTC.

if you sold 5 BTC back then, now you can have 25 BTC...kinda venturing to irresistible levels now, from my point of view..

if you sold at 16k and bought back at 2k (if ever we got there), that's x8 amount of BTC...if you sold 5 BTC back then you can now get 40 BTC...now that's a winner hehe

if you are starting to buy now and average down if BTC goes down more...you'll never loose

if my aunt had balls, she'd be my uncle.

 Tongue

No if my grandma had balls she’d be my grandad

Now.... Cheesy

Just let metroid multiply that to 35k or 100k or 200k...voila, your aunt and grandma will now be a huge ball like the moon.  Cheesy

there is greed building inside me little by little...i don't know why...  Cheesy

It probably has something to do with the fact you subscribe to the Warren Buffet “Be fearful when others are greedy and greedy when others are fearful” philosophy.

Also similar to Baron Rothschild's "the time to buy is when there's blood in the streets" mentality. Both men are famous for making their fortunes in the stock market, so probably good advice to follow.

Myself, I think the fear and blood levels are still a bit lower, but even if you are beginning to accumulate some coins now I don't think you will need to wait too long for at a minimum a relief rally.

Not even in 2015 when manipulators showed idiots bitcoin was done for, the fall was not as bad than it is right now, $1200 ath and crashed to $200, that is 6 times, right now from ath of $21k, price is $3600 x 6 = 21k, using the history, btc can't crash any further. This is the bottom cause there is no news telling bitcoin is dead like it was in 2015 or any mt.gox spreading fear or anything like it was in 2015. So anything happening right now means solely manipulative and the same people doing this will be the ones buying bitcoin till it hits 100k and then they will crash it to 20k in few years and they will do the same crap over and over.

There is more room for down yet, don't count on history being an exact match for picking your bottom.

could be, could be not...either way i would like to point out that the last bottom has these points

- bitcointalk was a wasteland, people left.

- no youtube clowns appearing and twitter twats.

- asic manufacturers are not manufacturing

- exchanges closing, exchanges exit scamming, exchanges listing shitcoins by the dozens to get more fees to survive

...and today adoption is not like it was back then so we may not hit that kind of surrounding/atmosphere again, nonetheless we are close i think.

The real question is: Who bought this company? What is their program?
Did Ryan sell the company to the ghosts? It's a non-professional way and not quite clear
If Ryan was a professional for clarity of salesmanship, because by this act proves again that his intention is very bad. You can not sell any company without issuing a detailed statement and a clear announcement.
Here we speak clearly, where are the promises of the new company? A month has passed and we have not heard anything Huh

Why? What is the thing that prevents people from being normal like other projects ??
Why does all this happen ?? Angry Angry Angry Angry

Is there any proof that Gallippi or T.I. really have any involvement in this?

I know many sources said they were "partners" but I believe those sources were merely quoting flik.

Is there any proof - independent of flik's own websites and proclamations - that Gallippi or T.I. have ever even heard of flik?

from the looks of this T.I. is involved..

and this youtube video interview with ryan felton might be something of help...

First, it is not yet clear what the sales process is.
Is it a complete sale? Is it a consolidation process? Is Ryan still in the project?
Nothing is obvious, because the company can be sold and Ryan can stay in the crew, I saw this in more than one company. The purpose of the sale may be to obtain funds, or to enter new partners ...

The people who say that the crew withdrew completely to give concrete evidence and not evidence or conclusions.
Second, it is not normal for this company to remain silent. About a month has passed since the last update. True, the site has been modified and improved, but this is not enough.
Key things must be stated through which the seriousness of the company towards the future and direction of the project can be judged:
- Announcing the crew with their images and clarifying the company's current situation.
- Declare a clear and short-term road plan. The project will not have been in a bad position since about a year.
- Publish a new white book. Because the current book link is not available.
- Try seriously to add currency to a new trading platform: The new company must invest some money instead of promises or waiting to add the currency for free. They must buy a good place in a global platform. Because Ryan did not make the appropriate decision in December 2018 when he decided that the required amount of platform Binance, is a large amount. Ryan did not decide well. It was a very big mistake. Resulting in loss of confidence and the beginning of the collapse of everything. Certainly the big platforms will ask for money, but the interest will also be great.
- Improve communication, especially via Twitter, via updates every 10 days. And strive to gain the trust of investors and investors. Also communicate well in this forum and answer questions.
- To clarify the fate of many promises made by Ryan in the past, especially when he said that he works on the platform every day, it makes no sense to jump on Ryan's statements and many promises, should be clarified every word that Ryan said before. Especially his statement that the platform is ready.
In short: there is not much time for the new company, they have to take concrete and quick steps, and they have to deal very seriously with this project which I still think can be saved.
It's normal to hear accusations and so on, because the way the project was run was a disaster, I can not blame Ryan now, because the rest of the partners did not do anything, so the statements were nonexistent. Ryan was probably left to face everything on his own. The paper is worthless in my opinion.
But in any case if we live in a lie, then time will be the one who will answer us precisely, but the investors will not be patient for ever. We are actually waiting for concrete things, and if they do not happen, I will be among those who demand rights, as I defended this project for several months. The thing is in the opposite direction.

you seem quite knowledgeable in flik to not know about that screenshot..

bitcointalk is the place where people who have bitcoins hang out...FLIK is being traded on coinexchange for BTC.....you know where I'm getting at??  Wink
1372  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FLiK on: September 23, 2018, 08:06:30 AM
Unfortunately, some people continue to attack the project despite some recent changes
I know in advance that my words will find a lot of criticism
But let us be rational: they promised to release updates and a lot of important things
Let's wait. Let's leave the time deciding whether everything is true or not.
True, we waited for a lot of time. We lost a lot of opportunities. But we have to be realistic.
Why this project faced all these problems?
And not all things have been broken? There are certain logical reasons behind all this ... My mind thinks according to a specific logic, it is not natural that Ryan is an impostor .. It is not logical to be so stupid.
It is quite natural that some investors seek legal solutions ... But have we really given the full opportunity for this project?
I will be with those who seek legal solutions when we really see that there is nothing.
Because the crew of the project that they are lying is a matter of time. If Ryan thinks that the idea of abandoning the project to another company, he thinks he can fool us, he is wrong. Personally, I am still waiting for the good news. If there is nothing good I will be among the people who support all possible solutions.
The sale process may be the only solution that enables the project to take off again.

Ryan is not an impostor, he has a youtube interview about FLIK, all the original founders and the people involved left without notice, and a new/sprung out of nothingness company has taken over, without identities of who are the people in charge.

if this coin pumps, this will just be a pump and dump, nothing more...let this be a warning to people reading this..

otherwise go ahead and make money if you can..

If the new company that took over Flik does not come with a Roadmap or provide an update on their team and their focus soon then people must proceed to sue Ryan, this is ridiculous and very unexpected. Not only did he try to abandon the project without a heads up, zot provide an adequate reason behind his decision.

the founders left...means... there is nothing more this silly little failure of a project/scam can offer...go ahead folks sue those Hollywood losers and clowns  Grin

You guys know what made me stop loading up on GPUs sometime in Dec 2017-Jan 2018?

It was when I saw a Reddit post or some news article about some TESLA owner basically parking his car at a TESLA charging station and he had like 5-6 GPUs in there, mining away. Seeing that made me very fearful about the future of mining...

Found the article

https://hardware.slashdot.org/story/17/11/28/2148257/tesla-owners-are-mining-bitcoins-with-free-power-from-charging-stations

Holy smokes! My bubble-sense was already bursting* but if I had seen that article I would have definitely cashed out of everything!  Grin

* - see what I did there?

It's basically what happened back in 2010 when the metal markets were going crazy. Gold almost hit $2000 and silver almost hit $50.

There were reports that there will be a shortage of silver and China is buying literally in unlimited amounts. Heard this basically from a cab driver who put all his income into buying silver. What happened right after? It started crashing very fast and will be provably decades when we see $50 silver and $2000 gold again.

that is when times that people are generally happy with x2 and x3 price increase.....and suddenly crypto introduced x10 x100 and x1000  Grin

how do you survive in this bear trend with mining?   I admire your goals and long term efforts and one day I hope to have your dreams,  But how do you survive this winter storm?

I guess he is not selling any coin he is mining right now and the money he has, he is using to pay the bills as he goes, mining was profitable, last year was 100 days to get your money back, so he might be at loss today but last year he was up, so there is a balance there, fat cows last year, slim cows this year and hopefully fat cows next year, this is called planning cause everybody knows fat cows will lose weight and then regain it back and will lose again. That is how life is in general, ups and downs, need to be strong when cows are slim and wise when cows are fat.

bears hibernate during winter, fats are stored....spring will come and the bears will feast again..

in crypto land the wise and lucky ones have enough fats..

yeah early computers were pretty wild, i remember a huge TTY/paper tape terminal my dad had from his military days.

wish there were more pictures. missing was a pic of the hopper you shoveled the coal into  Grin

here is one of my actual  computer shop in while in the navy.

the guy in the photo is one of the DS  it repair techs

this photo is circa 1978  to the right is the card reader
behind him is the computer
to the left  are 2 of 4 tape drives
and  there is a teletype in the foreground

never seen one of those old computers in my life...but I was able to try that bell bottom pants when I was in high school Grin.. my schoolmates liked it ...my uncle served in US navy and he sent his old and new stuff to my grand parents house..I salvaged a few stuff..there is also a nice leather boots that I use during rainy season in school, I was able to walk in 4 inches of flood water without getting my feet wet.
1379  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 8th Alt coin thread. Or what to do now that asics are all over the place. on: July 28, 2018, 07:56:10 AM
We all were burn't one way or another with mining.

I was burnt buying expensive GPUs during the Litecoin days where I spent like $500 on a R9 280X and every 30 days my daily profitability basically kept halving.

From that experience I've learnt not to FOMO on expensive GPUs when the markets can turn very quick.

Instead I just browsed Craiglist and eBay during the beginning of 2016 and bought all my GPUs second hand.

During the 2017 mining boom, I bought a few GPUs during Black Friday sales with a rebate which were actually below MSRP because mining profitability hit a low point at that time.

Never bought an ASIC brand new ever from a manufacteur but basically heard from many people who took huge losses buying an Antminer S2, S3 and S4 new.
yeah same story here , although i sold my 280x and 390s for close to what i paid
not selling gpus going forward tho, I always regretted selling, gpus that are paid off are
better kept and used to speculate i found

I always have my GPUs with me...what I'm gonna do without them? boredom will kill me hehe
1380  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best GPU for Asus P5Q Mainboard on: July 27, 2018, 06:24:38 AM
Hey guys,

I want to upgrade my old pc in order to be able to mine with it as well.
It has a Asus P5Q Mainboard - is there any GPU I could possible use to mine with that setup or do I need a complete new setup?

Thanks in advance

You will have some trouble here running many GPU-s mainly because of the limitation of DDR2 Ram which the max frequency can run is 1200mhz. Also get ready for some blue screen of deaths if you try to put more than 2 GPU-s on that kind of motherboard. Some friends of mine which work in a PC shop tried to mine with an old HP board with DDR2 Ram and ended with a lot of blue screen of deaths.

It has 3 PCIE slots but you have to try them to see if you can ran them all because at the ASUS website doesn't says anything for those PCIE slots. You can however run a GPU up to Rx 480 8GB I have tried myself with DDR2 ram old HP board , but maybe you can be lucky and run up to Rx 580 for mining.

P5Q chipset is P45....I got an older motherboard with a chipset of P35 with 4x 1080ti...that board is working for me since 2013..that's 5 years....and i bought it as a surplus/second hand.

It is ddr2 by the way..
