There has to be someone somewhere that knows how to get those returned...right? Utopianfuture? Anyone? Pleeeeaaaseee?!?!
You could ask UP to make an exception for you and send you 0.X NEMtokens, because you clearly destroyed those NXT. Its like Proof of burn. Would be a nice gesture of the NEM community to a newbie! What kind of suggestion is that? NEMtokens are not mine to reward, or make an exception. Everyone of them will be accountable by someone. @strapon: the cold-hard truth is that you lost your Nxt. I hardly see how it is related to me, especially in an official capacity. There are only two sides that should take the blame. One is yourself and the second is perhaps the Nxt address format. In this case address format isn't the issue, as the same would have happened with BTC if he sent it to correctly typed but wrong address. Is is in this case, it is fairly difficult to accidentally send to a wrong address in Bitcoin that no one owns. Nxt had to move to Reed Salomon address for that reason.

@strapon Do you know what "investor" mean ? I care about developers, users, volunteers, helpers etc. but not "investors". That's my stand from day 1. It is not about you personally.
Add: You should know that the reply is not directed to you neither. That is to TwinWinNerD in a very general sense. I am dealing with a lot of complaints, lost accounts, lost tokens etc. Before you there were two cases of losing password to accounts, 1 case of PM a wrong address and 1 case of account getting hacked and token being moved out.

I meant that you can send him some compensation from any "promotional" funds you have for NEM. Would be good publicity that you care for the small investor. Maybe its just my opinion! No I don't care for investors.

This is another great post! I agree with everything you are saying. What you have laid out is a very good road map. Clearly brainstormed well.
As far as targeting a tech savy group. I think we should airdrop NEM on MIT like bitcoin did. It is a very localized market. It is the exact demographic that would like it and think it is cool. If it works out, I say we hit Harvard and Boston University with airdrops. That would mean we have blanketed three corners of Boston.
Taking over the world starts one neighbourhood at a time. When two countries fight, they don't throw bombs randomly over a country. That is exactly what all other altcoins and bitcoin are doing. They are dispersing themselves all over the world, a little bit here and a little bit there. When a general is in charge with strategic knowledge, he pics one beach, one town, one front to attack. Then when he has it, he goes after another target. One at a time until the whole country falls, and then the next country.
Crypto currency is an entirely new concept, and new way of thinking about money. It is very different than other technologies. Think back to the introductions of phones or electricity. Phones weren't just put all over the world one at a time, they were introduced small market by small market. The same with electricity. The same with plumbing. The same with internet. And so on. Crypto is just as revolutionary as these and is just as new and strange. Before people had electricity, they didn't think they needed it. The same with phones. The same with internet. And so the same is with cryto. The world does not want to just embrace this idea. It doesn't think it needs it. Actually, they sit around and laugh at us and make jokes. But we can show them. We can do it one market at a time. After the first market falls, the second is easier, and the third easier after that. After a while later markets will beg to be introduced.
You did not just read the Tzun Tzu art of war did you? ;-) Hahaha, Years and years ago. Required reading for all strategist in the military. Agree. We could hold a worldwide nomination for the first NEM city (or at smaller scale - NEM square) similar to what Google did with fiber cable. http://www.muniwireless.com/2010/02/20/nominate-your-city-for-google-fiber-project/

Why should XNM be more international than NEM? Is NEM national in any way? I don't get it... Personaly I dislike the "X" naming hype very hard. Makes absolutely no sense.
Frankly, if I had a choice I would have dropped the word movement and replaced it with World and call it NEW order. There are so many catch phrases you can do with it: What's NEW? The NEW Crypto, NEW way, NEW APPS, NEW Contract, NEW Exchange, ... Interesting idea. Actually I can imagine people being interested to find out what is "NEW" it even looks good to me. I think it would also sound less scary to establishment people. Any thoughts? NEM also means = New Economy Money. It would be easier to use that to explain to newcomers.

NEM will be 0.01USD after 3 months of its launch
Should be more, After the technology roadmap is finished, 1NEM>=1USD Maybe what Gimre really meant was: Alpha: testnet
Beta: most likely REAL thing
This makes sense as I remember reading posts saying the beta will be the 'launch'. Hopefully our mutual confusion will be cleared up by a dev. Alpha = 100% testnet and monopoly money. Beta = Likely to be in the testnet for the first phase and then move to the main-net (with real stake and coins). It is still undecided whether nemesis block is on launch day or in beta. It doesn't make much difference imo. NEM Beta will include some special features. Even NEM open Alpha will likely include special features that are not in other coin's launch. For example: NIS codes for secure messaging have been completed and just need GUI to be on Open Alpha. Secure messaging is not even in Nxt NOW 9 month after the coin launch. Talk about the difference between one system's alpha and the other system's so-call advanced stage. NEM beta will include features that have never been in any other system. What are they ? We cannot tell you because the codes are not completed and there are some uncertainty in the implementation. However, there will be at least one special feature moving from NEM Alpha to NEM Beta. damn.. thats unreal! anyone who sold will surely regret it! So no one complains that I took a dig at Nxt ? Surprisingly ;-)

Am I correcting in thinking the coins in the alpha/beta will be fake coins, or will these be the real thing?
fake alpha testnet, beta - most likely REAL thing Thanks for the answer. So does this mean the distribution will happen in time for the open alpha? How did you come to such conclusion? here's an earlier quote: alpha p0 -> 1-? weeks -> alpha p1 -> (hopefully) 1-2 weeks -> alpha p2 -> indefinite -> beta (nem launch) -> indefinite -> V1 blockchain
So the coins being used to test the alpha will all be recalled and re-distributed to the stakeholders come launch? Testnest use test coins. Monopoly money which will be destroyed when we move to the mainnet.
