Hi,

I didn't see my name on this list.. I transferred to your account with TXID 18174261235277105518

I checked the last list before this audition part and there it said somebody tried to copy my hash, but that I wasn't "possible duplicate hash fraudster". It just said "duplicate hash". Please check my original message to see that I have posted first with the TXID hash above in your thread

My name is missing from the stakeholder list, could you please check that out, thanks!. My hash: 15956626506399421353

both of you will have to prove that those TX are really yours. You can do that either by providing a screenshot of the client showing the TX or by sending another small amount from the same address.

Being the first to post the hash is not proof - we've had cases before where the person that was second to post the hash was the real owner.

Just send some nxt from my account (to confim that im me), hash: 10748993328751360508

It just be ok now then? Ty.  (2nd post)

Another triple case. I will kick Fonoromorhorkorpor out and swap you in. thanks and sorry for the convenience.

Ohh two guys tried to use my hash! But now its solved, thanks.

Yeah, there are quite a few more hash fraudsters in thread 1 compared to thread 2 because I did not check for duplicate hash back then. sorry.

HI
As requested transfer stakeholder number 300 fragout (stakeholders list Thread 1 tab ) to user Roadstone66
tks

We don't transfer stake to user not already in the thread. Generally, fee sent more than required by one user is considered donation (per the rule), but if you insist we can return the money at the refund period.
If the user Roadstone66 wants to join in now, he can make a post in the introduction thread to join the waiting list.
Thanks for understanding.

Now this is just to cheer up all the NEM'sters out there. A quote from NXT's official thread from come-from-beyond when talking about NXT's distribution:

The main issue I see is distributing the coins to enough people.

Agree. Without at least 100 users on start the whole currency is pointless. I would spend collected bitcoins for advertising instead of development of advanced features.

We have a wonderful community atm! If NXT has gotten this far with 73 stakeholders, just imagine what 3000 NEM'sters with better distribution can do Cheesy!

Agree... but I have one concern. Let's think what could happen during the first two weeks of NEM. If the price going up regarding the original one (but still cheap for a big whale), it's going to be attractive. Many of the stakeholders can be prompted to sell in order to get immediate profit and then; a big whale (or a few number) can buy a lot of NEM coins, thus concentrating the money in a few owners and diluting the major effort that UP and dev team is doing into produce a fair initial distribution. In a purely free-market framework, I guess this is a plausible scenario and hard to avoid unless you want to intervene the markets until the money raise to get a respectable price that makes difficult to buy big amounts for only one or a few persons

That is a legitimate concern and there is no comprehensive solution here. This problem will not be avoidable unless we create a centralized distribution, and that is something that noone wants.

One thing that will combat the centripetal movement of coins in the longer terms is the improved forging mechanism where the fee coins will be distributed not based just to POS.

Initial fair distribution has been done and that's all it is. I have no problem with Bill Gate buying all NEM later on. Everyone would just start NEM 2.0.

Here are some colours...
Just in case this does gain some traction as a logo idea...

Interesting direction. I wonder does the symbol have a meaning ?

Thank you for the explanation UP  Smiley. If the initial goal is to raise NEMs profile,I think we should do either of these two things.

A) refunded stakes perhaps should be given to people with clout and influence. Opinion leaders who can give real momentum and credibility to NEM. I know its difficult to do but with three thousand members I am sure there must be members who know people with influence who just might be interested.

b) option two would be to disperse small amounts of NEM (5000 ?)  as widely as possible  through facebook or email list, with the simple condition/promise that they will do one random act of good deed before spending the coin. Many will just ignore the promise but many will also keep their promise  Smiley either way NEM will generate a lot of goodwill.

just a thought  Wink

Future plans would be clearer after the development update. Stay tuned.  Smiley

Quote
3. How can I get my shares ?

You will need to access your BTT account to send a PM or make a post confirming the ownership of the account to claim your share. Detail instructions in an announcement will be posted here, NEM reddit, NEM facebook, ournem website and the announcement will last at least 5 days. It is your responsibility to read and follow the instructions to claim your shares. So please check back frequently. Thanks.

What happens with the coins when 4-5 people don't see the announcement and doesn't claim the share?

Maybe we can use it for giveaways?

Probably a good idea to use PM from this forum rather than emails to inform people of receipt of coins...there are issues with spam for many peoples' accounts (especially hotmail)...including mine. Lots of missed emails and had to change accounts. Cant do that here, now!

No PM. There will be an announcement and an instruction as said.. Ample times will be given so that you should be able to follow if you pay attention even only once a week. People who did not claim the shares during the claiming period will get the money back because all the un-claimed shares will be destroyed after the claiming period.

Who is our target audience/customer

This is important. There are over a hundred cryptocurrencies , all of them offering similar services. How do we create a niche market for NEM. What kind of people are we looking to attract to NEM. We cannot be all things to every one, that would make us a weak generic coin.

How are we fundamentally different from other coins?. We need a selling point for people to be particularly interested in using NEM rather than the competition. POI is an interesting forging concept, but it will only attract miners, mostly looking for a quick profit, Who will dump NEM without a second thought even for a little extra profit.

We need a slogan and we need to back it up with deeds. We need to find people who believes in that cause and fiercely target them. If we get our niche members we have no need to fear anyone.

Utopian Future please tell us what are we trying to achieve with NEM. I know its to make the world a better place with technology, but its too broad, do we have any particular cause we would really like to make a difference in?

Marketing( spreading awareness) NEM right now seems pointless,  unless we can decide what is to be marketed or promoted.

Bitcoin is the first crypto coin that starts the decentralization + financial freedom movements. To be fair every crypto can claim to be used for decentralization + financial freedom. What's I like to see with the community 1-2 year along the way is that we together organize a lot of social projects/ events. It should be a decentralized, grassroots effort with many different local groups but we could also have some centralized coordination. Raising value of NEM/ Nemcoin would be the financial vehicle for the community to fund its project/ events. At the same times, if we do it right and start to be real-world relevance, NEM price would be raising even further and make our works easier.

Another aspect we need to do well is to expand the user-bases and distribute NEM to as many people as possible. When we makes/ helps a new person adopt NEM, we further the cause of decentralization + financial freedom. imo, decentralized asset exchange is a big technological forward and the user-case potential is huge so that's something we should be ready to promote in a big way and adopt as many users as possible.

In a purely free-market framework, I guess this is a plausible scenario and hard to avoid unless you want to intervene the markets until the money raise to get a respectable price that makes difficult to buy big amounts for only one or a few persons

NEM concept of equality and fair distribution is that everyone should have a fair chance to start the game. After that it is individual's choice that shapes up his/ her destiny. I am for free market, individual choices and financial freedom. It should make sense that people who are more hard-working and smarter should end up better off so that people are willing to work harder, taking risk and innovating. So even if we start with a perfectly flat line for wealth distribution, we will start to move to somewhat normal distribution of wealth over times and imo it is bad idea to intervene with that process.
I prefer the capital accumulation and innovation aspect of capitalism, but the big flaw in it is the generational transfer of wealth. One should not be born in an extreme richness just as much as one should not be born in misery, slavery with litter chance to progress in life. We should all embrace the motto of giving everyone a fair chance in life and help people, especially with children, who are a disadvantaged position to start the life with.

NEM fundraising is symbolic for the idea of "fair chance". We limit the individual contribution to a maximum of 50$  and open the registration as wide and as far as possible. There are no distinction between veteran users versus new users, no distinction between rich users versus poor users (in case 50$ is too much for you, there are are many promotional stakes to join as well). Everyone who are in with NEM will start at an equal position. It is not perfect but I think we have done an okay job and it would be a nice social experiment to see what kind of wealth distribution we will end up with 3-6 months- 1-2 years after the launch.

Now that the fundraising is over (I am a stakeholder), what is the present status of NEM? Is there a thread or post summarising the state of the art?

I plan to have a big update on development, plan ahead after the public auditing in about 10 days. Then there will be a short refund period. Links to all main updates will be at the front page of this thread/ update section.

Lophie is selling 800k at 0.000082, This is the usual rush sale, PM ASAP.

Fellow Nxters! User lophie has a great Nxt to BTC trade offered, and I want to take him up on it! Can people vouch for him? He does have a ton of posts and Hero status, but I want to be even safer than safe because I will have to send first!~

He is cool. I can vouch for him.

Agreed (minus the vulgar language), we can market AE when it's finished with testing and we are happy with it.

Btw, who is really testing it? I got only a few bug reports.

I don't really need AE working (I'm not a trader and don't need to IPO anything), so I can wait till April. The community should focus on testing if it does need AE.

The best test is on the mainnet. If there wasn't any bugs reported recently then it is the time to bring it on.

Hi, we are cax888 (aka Cryptoconomist). We've promptly submitted the payment and sent an introduction but we still don't seem to appear on your shareholders list.

Could you kindly advise about the status and/or whether you would need further information?

Thanks

You you at 2956/ thread 2. Could everyone please read instructions and look carefully before starting to complain ? Please do so before you start complaining.

Or buying from current stakeholders.

Thanks,

So what is the official name, nemcoin or nem.

I like nemcoin.

edit: I ask because of the domains.

nemcoin.com + its subdomains is about the blockchain and relating apps.
ournem.com will be more about community's projects.

Nemcoin is the blockchain. NEM is the currency unit. New Economy Movement (NEM) refers to the whole community. That's my idea but you could refer to the blockchain as NEM too. Some people prefer that way.

I am just thinking how this thread will blow up when we are on the testnet and then on the first mainnet beta.  Roll Eyes

And just to remind everyone that it is your responsibility to check your stakeholder status in the list and let us know if there is an issue in the stake complaint thread.

Guys how about doing something along these themes for our logo:

The first one is the official international sign for humanity its called Happy Human Grin . wiki says BHA licenses this trademark to humanist organizations , maybe it suits our values too.

that's the crypto Ubuntu Smiley
when I read NEM's first page, it reminded ubuntu... It is some african word.

As an artist I've looked several coins logos. It's little bit amusing that there is more variation only in the text fonts than in creation of something different and new, especially when you all are tryin to create a new captivating coin.

Only these have at least some trying to be creative

http://www.flickr.com/photos/115246188@N06/12489315183/

It is quite difficult to come up with original logo idea I would say because it also has to be relevant to NEM's core principles. I think we have a few nice NEM text variations but it is another level represent NEM successfully with some kind of shapes, abstract concept etc.
