If you drop the catch, it's not the bowlers fault at all. I'm sure bowlers lose their confidence when their mates can't catch. Taking catch of Warner at 10 would have completely changed the game.

Josh Inglis and Marcus Stoinis at the crease now, and they are known for power-hitting. Australia at 330/4 after 43 overs. 10 runs per over should get them past 400. Even this total would not be the highest in the tournament so far. South Africa made 428 against Sri Lanka a few days back. But it should be more than enough to get 2 points and a good NRR boost from this match.

Yeah after one drop catch the bowlers lost all thier confidence that Warner scored 163 runs. Blaming the fielding doesn't look good when Pakistan has some of best bowlers in thier side. Just look at the bowling figures of Rauf and Afridi, they were hammered by both Warner and Marsh all over the stadium. Things have gone from bad to worst for Pakistan and it will reflect when they come to bat.

But in every match I have seen poor performances from Pakistani bowlers.

Warner is back in form. And he would return to the truck in such a magnificent way it was unimaginable. He collected 163 runs off 124 balls. Mitchell Marsh scored 121 off 108 balls. With the responsible batting of the two openers, Australia is able to provide a big target today. Pakistan's batting order is not weak. But their performance is erratic. But I think Pakistan have the ability to bat against big targets and win.

Do you really believe that they are capable of chasing down a near-400 total against quality bowlers such as Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood? And now Adam Zampa is also in great form. BTW, the absence of a quality spinner has really hurt Pakistan in this match. Usama Mir's figures read 9-0-82-1, while Mohammad Nawaz returned 7-0-43-0. The most expensive bowler is Haris Rauf BTW. His numbers are 6-0-72-2. But then he picked up two important wickets (that of David Warner and Josh Inglis).

I am not saying that Pakistan will win by batting around 400 targets today. But I would say they have this capability. I saw that they batted brilliantly against Sri Lanka. At the same time, I will say that against South Africa and India, the Australian bowlers did not do well. South Africa scored 311 runs. And India scored 201 runs in 41.2 overs. The performance of Australia's bowlers was average in both these matches. But it is very difficult to win against any team by batting at a target of around 400 runs. Ah, Warner was dropped before making century as well. Rauf was smashed hard but not Afridi, his economy rate was under 5 before he closed his early overs quota and when he came back he took two important wickets (Marsh, Maxwell), he's the reason Aussies probably won't even cross 400 now.

I feel you don't realize how much difference wicket makes (in getting other wickets), 46 overs completed as of writing and openers are the only reason Aussie got the score they have.

After 40 overs they made a small comeback but I feel the damage is already done by Australia and chasing down big scores will always put the extra pressure since they have to keep an eye on the required run rate every ball.

Today's match was helped by Pakistan's poor captaincy and David Warner's missed catch of 163 runs. However, Pakistan will be defeated by David Warner's 163 and Mitchell Marsh's 121 runs in today's match.
Pakistan won't have any chance of winning if the target is 350 runs in today's match but Australia has already set a target of 360 runs and in the end if they can play 50 overs then Australia's run target will be like 380 runs which is impossible to beat Pakistan with Australia.

Australia at 360/7. At one point it looked as if they will make somewhere around 400. But now it will be surprising even if they can get to 370. Australian wickets fell like a pack of cards, with Haris Rauf making a strong comeback. His initial spell was 4-0-69-0. And his second spell went for 4-0-14-3 (and that too while bowling at depth overs). This is perhaps the most extreme comeback from a bowler that I have witnessed in world cup matches. Australia has reasons to be disappointed, but they need to win this match and get a good NRR boost out of it.

Pakistan won an excellent toss and 20% of the battle because according to every report, dew will surely come into play tonight which is a nightmare for a team bowling second.

Now their seamers need to do their job with the new ball so that they can make life easy for their spinners in the middle overs, also fielders can't afford to be sloppy in the field against the Aussie. Having said that i won't mind meme level fielding for some fun.

Today might again go in the history books of World Cup cricket as Australians are eyeing a target of 450. Warner is still batting and has already scored his century. They have 8 wickets in hand, most of their batters who are yet to come can accelerate the current run rate of 10. Plenty of overs still left for this first session to end.

Regardless of the dew factor the psychological gain by Australian side if they are able to give a mammoth of target will destroy Pakistani batting. We have seen how bad are Pakistani batters perform when they play in pressure.

This is a batting pitch and defending is not an easy task here in Chinnaswamy, happened so many times in the IPL.

Post Warner, it has been an atrocious batting display from Australia. They messed up with their finish and short at least 30-40 runs here and with dew coming in, it could be tricky for them. The only positive thing is their bowling lineup is better than Sri Lanka and they would hope for scoreboard pressure.

Towhid Hridoy and some other players were auto-choice for them. They talked about his fitness, his age, his strike rate. They should shame theirself. Mahmudullah shows what he can do.

Mahmudullah was the batter with the highest strike rate in that match. Another fun fact is Mahmudullah is top batter who scored most sixes in ODI World Cup for Bangladesh. The selectors should stop now.
