Imagine what will happen if Afghanistan manages to defeat the Black Caps today. New Zealand did not lose any match in this World Cup so far. If Afghanistan can beat them today, the Afghans will be pumped up as they already beat England in their last game. Yep, I did watch those 2 dropped catches especially at the slip and another one is just a sitter after that I just tracked down the scores only so can't able to experience their embarrassing moments. Anyway Afgans batted really poor so even if they managed to get the NZ under 200 they still failed to score on this pitch.

Another fun fact I found, Afghanistan is having the lowest batting average of all the playing nations in between 10-40 overs, this proves that their middle order didn't contribute anything to the scores.

Can Afghanistan defeat New Zealand today?

After yesterday and day before anything can happen today. None of us expected Afghanistan to defend and beat the English team. Yesterday again none of us expected the Netherlands to defend and beat the South Africans.

If today Afghanistan bats first then I think they might be able to beat the Kiwis. As the match is being played in Chennai the spinners would get good assistance from the pitch. Everyone would be watching today's match.

New Zealand won by 149 runs. New Zealand set a good target of 288 runs in loss of 6 wickets in 50 Overs, 78 Runs in last 6 Overs New Zealand finish on 288 runs in first inning. While chasing down the taregt Afghanistan all out in just 139 runs in 35 Overs. batting performance of Afghanistan is very disappointed only afghan batter Ikram Alikhil played an 19 runs unbeaten inning in just 21 balls.

The Bowling performance of New Zealand is outstanding especially  Mitchell Santner picked 3 important wicktes by giving 33 runs in 7.4 overs ans Lockie Ferguson also bowl well picked up 3 wickets by giving only 19 runs in 7 Overs. The main reason for Afghanistan's poor performance in this World Cup is their middle order. I haven't seen the middle order players batting responsibly in a single match yet. Afghanistan team lost in every match by a big margin. Afghanistan's two openers played quite well against England. Also Ikram's performance was good. So finally Descent was able to provide a target to the team. Besides, we have seen bad batting of Afghanistan against New Zealand, India and Bangladesh.

Afghanistan's bowlers are doing well enough. I have no complaints about their performance. If Afghanistan could have fielded well, it would have been challenging for New Zealand to score 200 runs. Bad fielding was one of the major reasons behind Afghanistan's defeat in today's match.

I think they went a bit complacent after the unexpected win against England. Hopefully the shock that they got from the Kiwis should put them back on track. This is a very long tournament and it is going to be difficult to stay focused. But for Afghanistan, it is necessary to perform well this time. A lot of questions are being asked regarding the funding from ICC (especially after the Taliban takeover) and regarding how their test status can be justified in the absence of a national women's team. A poor performance in this tournament will only make things difficult for them.

And Beat Netherlands by 99 runs. NewZealand also Beat Bangladesh by 8 wickets and they Beat AFG by 149 runs. New Zealand makes it 4 wins in 4 matches in World Cup. Kiwis continues their domination in World Cup 2023. Too many dropped catches and lack of spark in batting cost Afghanistan the heavy loss. NewZealand are a complete, balanced team, and the key members are in form and they are deservingly topping the table right now after getting 4 wins with 8 Points.

Bangladesh might have won just one match against India in the ODI World Cup. But that sole win is very famous and came during the 2007 ODI World Cup. And as a result of that win, India got kicked out of the world cup and the TV broadcasters ended up in massive loss. All I am saying is that India should not take Bangladesh lightly. At least while playing in sub-continent, their spinners have the capability to trouble top batsmen. And also, Litton Kumer Das and Shakib Al Hasan are in good touch with the bat recently.
