241  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: January 01, 2024, 03:34:00 PM
Talking about Enrique at the moment, I don't really know which players he has brought in since managing PSG. however, it seems that club management still prioritizes their interests and desires.  If, Enrique is given the freedom to bring in the players he really wants. at least PSG can perform much better, as well as in the Champions League. this season, it seems their target is only to win the Ligue 1 trophy and advance as best they can in the Champions League. for Ligue 1, I have no doubts about how PSG will defend the title for the umpteenth time. but for the Champions League, if PSG were able to advance to the last eight, that would be far more sufficient with the current squad.
After the PSG owner spent a lot of money on the club, that's when I was quite interested in seeing how their journey was only in the Champions League and not Ligue 1, just like you and most of the members here who definitely think that Ligue 1 is not a competitive league for us to watch, because in Ligue 1 we won't see chasing points like what happens in other leagues, because so far PSG dominance in Ligue 1 has still not been broken so the matches are quite monotonous without any tight competition in the standings, but if we pay attention so far PSG players are also very relaxed because their quality is far above the players of other clubs in the league, so that when playing in the Champions League and against teams that play in competitive leagues, it is quite visible that PSG is overwhelmed like in the Champions League group phase this season and In my opinion, it was just luck for PSG to advance to the round of 12.

It would be an exaggeration to say that it was luck for them to qualify for the next round because I think that Newcastle played well worse than I thought and AC Milan got out of shape during the first few months of the season to be honest. I think the second position in the group stage was ok for them and in my opinion it was rather Borussia Dortmund that got lucky to qualify as first from the group stage. But now we are again in the critical phase of the competition and they don't get prepared for those tough games in the Champions League when they play against teams like Toulouse. That is one of their biggest problem, the lack of competition in Ligue 1. It would make them stronger.
242  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: January 01, 2024, 03:17:02 PM
I believe from now on it all depends on his success over the next few years. At some point I thought that Ancelotti wants to slowly pull out of the business because it is too stressful for him to have to be available 24/7 year round as a Real Madrid coach, but he seems to be in a great condition physically and mentally and he still seems to be enjoying the game. He is on fire sometimes despite his age and despite being this calm guy he usually is. But you can see that he wants more trophies especially in the Champions League. He could now have his final little era and let's see what his decision will be in 2026.
He still seems strong enough to handle the business and that's why he agreed to signing the renewal of his contract till 2025 if he has got challenge with it I'm sure he wouldn't have opted for the contract and even the management of Real Madrid wouldn't have agreed to the extension of his contract aswell.

I was thinking he would have gone to the Brazilian team coach them over a period of time and probably end his career there with a retirement but then he has still got the will to be at Real Madrid and that's why he will still agree to staying in Madrid as against going to Brazil. He has still got love for the Madrid team and I'm optimistic he will help the team further scale even greater heights in this season and subsequent seasons to come, so I'm not expecting any less from him and his boys this time having accepted to stay back at Madrid rather than move to Brazil.

I was actually a little surprised to see that he has extended his contract. Because I thought he was going to Brazil as the coach. But I guess he thinks he still has a lot to gain with Real Madrid. That's why he has extended his contract till 2026. Now I think Real Madrid is going to have a good and successful next couple of years as well. I also wonder if he will be able to bring in Mbappe into the squad. If he does, it is definitely going to be insane. Let's see what kind of squad he builds in the next couple of years. Expecting at least one champion's trophy as long as he is here.a

I think this is a good summary of what Ancelotti must have been thinking when he decided to extend his contract with Real Madrid and let the option to become the national coach of the Brazilian team go. There is a lot to be gained with Real Madrid and I can imagine that there were talks about the future of the club and that Ancelotti also asked about Mbappe and whether there is a chance that they will bring him in. Maybe there have been promises or agreements already.

Ancelotti would know that an attack line consisting of Mbappe, Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo would be insane and that it would be the strongest in European soccer I guess. He knows if he can add a title or two in the Champions League, that would strengthen his position as one of the most successful coaches in the sport.

Newcastle United is a pretty tough opponent for Liverpool, but that doesn't mean Liverpool isn't tough enough when competing at home in today's match. Because even without Salah, Liverpool still has to be considered as a strong team this season because so far Liverpool's strength is still visible, so it is not worth underestimating Liverpool just because one of their mainstay players is going to the Africa Cup of Nations. Today's match for Liverpool will probably be much more interesting because Liverpool really need to distance themselves from Aston Villa who are currently starting to continue to show their fangs and skills in every match.
Seriously, I don't really think the match will be an easy one for the two clubs. The performances of the two clubs are not really bad this season, so I think the match will just be kind of difficult to predict for me. The two clubs really need the match, but we all know that Liverpool is currently in first position, and they will want to win the match to increase their point. If they don't win the match, if Manchester City plays and wins their outstanding match, then they might end up taking the first position from Liverpool, so Liverpool will want to do everything possible to win, but Newcastle is also a dangerous club, so the match won't really be an easy one and it will be an interesting one.

Newcastle is undergoing a crisis and is nowhere near the performance level of Liverpool.

Liverpool is 13 points ahead, has not lost a single game in quite a while but Newcastle has lost four of their last five games in a very disappointing manner against inferior opponents. I don't think this is a game that is unpredictable. Of course Newcastle has a chance, but it doesn't look very promising for them because it is unlikely that they can make a U-turn against Liverpool when they were not able to do it against weaker teams before this game.

But it will be a hard fight regardless and I am hoping for Liverpool to win the game.

In as much as we all know that kylian Mbappe is one big player that values big trophies and have on many occasions spoken about his desire to pay hands on the UEFA champions league trophy, we must not feign ignorance to the fact that he's allowed money to affect some of his big decisions in football. Of a truth, he rejected an offer to join Saudi Arabia club last summer despite the mouthwatering financial package that came with the offer but he also changed his decision to sign for Real Madrid two years ago because Paris Saint Germaine offered more financial deal.

The France international is very keen on winning the UEFA champions league competition which I think he has a chance of doing with the current Paris Saint Germaine squad under Luis Enrique but he knows it'll be more realizable with Real Madrid and that's why he'll definitely want to join the next summer.

Has it ever been confirmed that Mbappe was offered 700 million or whatever that amount was?

I never saw Mbappe confirming that there was an offer from Saudi Arabia, but who knows maybe it is true. It doesn't really matter and he would have harmed his career tremendously if he decided to leave Europe and go to Saudi Arabia.

But now he is still around and I am sure a lot of trophies will follow. He is a French player and his prospects to win titles with the national team aren't that bad either.
245  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: January 01, 2024, 01:59:48 PM
I think I said this before, but they didn't lose the title in the last match at home, they lost the title in a dozen of matches they should have won or tied before the last match was played. Dortmund is just not good enough and it has been like that for a while now. They have good weeks and then it looks as if they were able to break Bayern's dominance, but then the disappointment is so huge that nobody can trust their eyes what's happening. The last game last season was only the tip of the iceberg. The whole drama enfolded over the course of the whole season.
If the match does not end in a draw then the Bundesliga title will belong to Dortmund and it hurts because it happened in the last match at home. Dortmund have talented young players but they are just trying to make a profit by selling them and there is nothing wrong when the club tries to play a game like this but they don't need to talk about fighting for the title. I don't like the style of club management that seeks profit in this way because it can't provide anything good for the club.

Currently, conditions are increasingly changing where in the league another strongest competitor has emerged, such as Leverkusen and perhaps Dortmund's position will become more difficult because so far the match has taken place, they have only been able to collect 27 points from 16 matches. Dortmund's focus may no longer be on challenging for the title and what they need to do is how to qualify for the Champions League next season.

You are forgetting the fact that Dortmund is a publicly listed company and that makes management decisions harder to justify in front of shareholders. If they receive these big offers from big clubs that want to buy talents for a lot of money, it is risky for the management to say no. Often times these players have release clauses like Haaland or the contracts are about to expire one year later and Dortmund has no choice but to sell them. Dortmund is not attractive enough for these players to accept a higher salary and stay longer with Dortmund. Just take Bellingham as an example. If Dortmund offered him 25 million net per year, he would still have left to go to Real Madrid and frankly, he would have made the right decision as we can now see. Players use Dortmund as an interim stop in their career.
246  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: January 01, 2024, 01:44:49 PM
Transfers to be made in January transfer window could be effective enough to change the fate of the Champions League winner maybe. I can't imagine what would happen in case of seeing Real Madrid's signing a deal with Mbappe. However even if this happens he wouldn't join the team right away of course. They would need to wait for him until the end of the season unless they buy his clause to bring him immediately.

However truthfully I don't expect Real Madrid to sign him in January because probably he would like to wait for the end of the season to make his decision on his future.  Smiley  I expect PSG to be eliminated early again which would make things really difficult for convincing Mbappe to stay.

I don't think that transfers in January have ever been of such a significant importance that they helped a team win the Champions League. If that was the case, I wonder what type of player you are talking about. Of course, if Real Madrid would sign Mbappe in January and he would score several goals in the final round of the Champions League, then it would perhaps be true, but since that won't happen, I doubt that any transfer in January would literally be responsible for the Champions League trophy at the end of the season.

I would agree only about the transfer of Kylian Mbappe from PSG to Real Madrid to be a game changer for the club in all competitions including Champions League. Real Madrid need more firepower in the attack line to help Bellingham scoring more and more goals to guarantee winning most of the game.
Until yesterday I had some hope that the player might join Real Madrid in this winter transfer window but from what I heard today, it appears to be quite difficult to happen with PSG willing to offer him a new and better contract!
In the other available options, I find it hard for a team to acquire other talented player that could help them win the title. Even signing a couple of players will not be possible for most of the teams in my opinion apart from Manchester United which might try to improve its squad but it is already too late.

But PSG is qualified for the next round and they are playing against Real Sociedad. What is the point in selling Mbappe now when PSG has the only goal to finally win the Champions League. If they decided to sell him now, everything they did to convince him to extend his contract some time ago, it would have made any sense at all. That is why I was confused to see people here express their opinion that Mbappe could leave PSG in winter. No, he won't leave PSG and he will give this a last shot to win the Champions League trophy and then in summer he will leave the club.
247  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2023/2024 on: January 01, 2024, 01:26:09 PM

I believe Messi is a better football player, but I'm sure Cristiano Ronaldo is a more hardworking football player. Even though he is 38 years old, he still runs a lot on the pitch and puts a lot of effort. I think it's impossible to do that with God-given talents. These are achievements that are the result of hard work, discipline and a regular life. Ronaldo is above all a good professional. And he works hard to live like a good professional.
I don't think we should compare Messi and Ronaldo, because they have their own strengths and to say who is better I think they are at the same level.
We are lucky to be able to witness their greatness and I think it will be difficult to find plyers like them in a very fierce competition. It will be very sad when they decide to retire as footballers.
They are footballers who last a very long time, even their dominance is unstoppable for more than a decade. Although many young players are born who have a good game, they remain a very interesting topic of conversation.
Now that they are old, they are just enjoying their career before deciding to retire later. They deserve to be considered as one of the legends of football.

You can compare them and Ronaldo is all about full force, not about precision and smartness. You can see it when he takes a free kick, he never takes them as a smart shooter. He takes them with full force hoping he hits it right. Messi in contract is a smart player with unmatched precision and unprecedented short way acceleration and deceleration. If someone likes to watch beautiful soccer, Messi is the one to stick with. If someone prefers to watch soccer that is about pure force, Ronaldo might be the better choice.

But there are lots of journal that was also talking about this too, like this.

Quote
In this research letter, we contributed to the recent scientific literature on determinants of success in professional soccer in general and the impact of playing the second leg of a knock-out confrontation at home in particular. We identified this effect for the most recent data on the most prestigious soccer tournaments for clubs in the world. Our analysis provided no evidence  for  a  second  leg  home  advantage. Thus, the European football association UEFA seems to be wrong when it assumes it rewards teams for their good performance in the group stage by letting these teams play the second leg at home in the round of 32 and the round of 16 of the UEFA Europa League and the UEFA Champions League
https://core.ac.uk/reader/211074020

Im only saying based on the fact and my logic. That's only a few teams from the total that could make dramatic comeback in the second leg like real madrid or chelsea. Losing in the first leg is obviously gives different nuance for the second leg.
This is the main problem that has been occurring. I strongly agree with the conclusion stated in that journal. No advantage for the club played at home in the second leg.

Being able to win in the first leg will obviously make the situation to be much more easier for the second leg. if i were winning with huge margin in the first leg then i can enjoy the second leg unlike my opponent which has target how many goals need to be made.

I see yes there is some interesting info, but it would probably need more time to look into various papers to get a comprehensive picture what the situation is.

As I said I think that a lot has also changed with the rule change that goals away from home count as single goals and not double. That was tough because winning the first leg at home 1-0 was the best result a team could achieve (of course winning with more goals is better, but zero goals conceded). This result was almost unfair as it gave the leading team so many options in the second leg because one goal away from home was almost the knockout for the other team as it counted twice.

Now this has changed and there might be no advantage at all statistically.

Exactly, I agree. I don't even have any idea about how Aston Villa managed to mess it up against Sheffield Utd a little while ago. They barely saved 1 point you know. Manchester City could have crushed Sheffield Utd also but they won by only 2-0. Haaland - De Bruyne duo were missing which must have affected the score quite negatively.  Sad

De Bruyne was seen on the bench though but Guardiola said that Haaland didn't start to train with the team yet.

When this duo both start to be on the pitch the other title challengers had better be ready for a tougher title fight.  Grin
These are results around boxing day as always. Aston Villa struggle against Sheffield United can be unpredictable, but, in time around, top teams face challenges against supposedly weaker opponents. Playing after short times rest makes things go not unexpected. But this is not uncommon in premier league.

The absence of Haaland and De Bruyne could have affected teh performance of the team that shows the importance of De Bruyne in shaping match outcomes. It's promising for City fans that despite the duo's absence, they managed to win the game, eventhough it's not as commanding as expected. Once the duo return to the pitch, it will upgrade Manchester City's performance that can pose a greater challenge to their title contenders. With the duo in top form, the title race could indeed become more intense. Guardiola's emphasis on Haaland needing time to integrate with the team suggests that once the duo is fully in sync, other title challengers will need to face a serious threat for the competition.

I am confident that Haaland will instantly improve the team, but I am more careful making predictions about De Bruyne and his impact on the game. Not because he is worse than before or he can't play as good anymore, but I think everyone in the club will focus on his health at first and give him only some play time before they dive back fully into it. The risk is there that he gets injured again as this is a recurring injury as far as I know. That's bad for his physical condition, but it also makes it harder mentally when the player doesn't know whether he can go at full risk or not.
250  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: December 31, 2023, 11:40:55 PM
I have absolutely no doubt that Juventus Turin regrets to not be in the situation to be thinking about other competitions or do you think that the players sit at home, watch their fellow competitors play in the Champions League and be happy about it? Come on not really. All of them want to play in the Champions League and the worst that can happen to these stars is when they don't qualify for whatever reason there was. In this case it was a penalty, but they certainly don't enjoy to miss out on playing those big games in their career.
This season there is clearly no competition being participated in by juventus apart from them focusing all their strength on serie A. Of course all the player want to play in the Champions League because the champions League is a prestigious league in the world. I think juventus will make the best use of the previous mistake, where Allegri squad currently sits in 2nd place in the standing and is only 2 point behind Inter milan.  Last season it was true that a penalty from the FIGC meant that juventus failed to penetrate the Champions League, But this season they were able to show their best performance in improving their performance to be able to play in the champions League next season.

Juventus is also among the teams that won the scudetto this season and if they succeed in doing so, Juventus could turn their fortunes around for the better this season. I also praise Allegri good performance because He was able to utilize the existing squad to perform well in serie A. Even this season juventus did not buy enough quality player but they managed to maintain their performance quite consistently.

That is not quite correct as Juventus Turin is still playing in the Coppa Italia and I think that's also an important competition in Italy and a valuable trophy. Juventus Turin brought themselves into position to play a great season even without the very big competitions I think. They need to stay close to Inter Milan as beyond any doubt they will be the fiercest contender for the Scudetto until the end of the season. Those two teams will make the race, but I still see Inter Milan having a little advantage over Juventus. Inter Milan has an impressive goal difference, which says a lot about their strengths within the team on all positions.

There is definitely no doubt about the winner of this season in France because so far all other teams couldn't have good performances in this league while the performance of PSG was awesome in the games we saw from this team.
As I said before about this league, I think if other teams want to race with PSG to win the title they should have the same or more investments in their teams to have better players and coaches.

Financial investments do play a big role in building a strong squad, eventhough it's not the sole determinant of a team's success, it becomes too clear to see the gap when fanancial gap is too big. PSG can have a series of unfortunate events, it seems wouldnt impact them with the squad depth they have.

We've witnessed Lille outperformed expectation and challenged PSG to win the league. But this can't always happen when they keep selling their best players, unlike PSG who keep buying good players. Investments in players and coaches are crucial, but effective team management, strategy, and cohesion are equally important. Teams with smaller can demonstrate that with the right approach, teamwork, and tactical acumen, but maintaing it will be the hardest challenge.

I think money matters most in league where there isn't a lot of money already. It wouldn't make the same difference for Manchester City to invest a billion now and become twice as valuable as they are and the second most valuable team in the Premier League is. Whereas the value gap in Ligue 1 is huge between PSG and then all the rest. That's where it makes a difference in the domestic league, but you can see how the advantage vanishes when PSG plays against other teams that are also financially strong and have some of the global superstars within their teams. Money can't do much then. PSG has tried when they bought Messi and Neymar in addition to also having Mbappe.

I doubt he will want to manage Real Madrid beyond 2026 if he has won more trophies with them, such as the Champions League and La Liga, by that time. I also never imagined him signing a new contract with them because of how exhausting his job as a manager will be and how he will want to take a break during the season, which he can't get enough of while coaching a club side team like Real Madrid. I wish him the best in his next two years at Real Madrid; I have high expectations for him, and he appears to be the type of manager who will excel and make the most have made the best out of this team by the time he’s leaving.

But I enjoy how everybody was wrong again and believed all the rumors that were spread on the Internet. Wasn't it this guy Fabrizio Romano who also stated publicly that Ancelotti would go to Brazil? I don't remember if I saw him posting about it, but this guy is spreading rumors all the time and of course if you spread 1,000 rumors, some of them will be true most likely. I spread the rumor that Mbappe will one day play for Real Madrid, but this one about Ancelotti going to Brazil was a big fail in my opinion. That guy should not be followed if it was him as he has no clue what's going on behind the scenes.

You can't compare last season Liverpool with Manchester United and Klopp with ten Hag. The difference between them couldn't be bigger. Liverpool has played some of the best soccer the global audience has ever seen when they finished the Premier League with 99 points in 2019/2020 or with 92 points in 2021/2022. You also can't compare Klopp with ten Hag. Klopp is a thousand times better than ten Hag. Klopp doesn't have issues dealing with superstars while ten Hag has a problem with his ego. I have never seen Klopp treating his players the same way as ten Hag does it.
I can't agree any less, klopp is a better world class coach than ten hag is, I will even say klopp has a better sense of maturity handling his team members much more than ten hag does, because ten hag is in charge of an elite team such as Manchester united doesn't make him any better coach as he's not anyways close as compared to klopp.

Ten hang has got so much ego and he obviously protects it at all cost even at some point to the detriment of the teams achievement as obviously see in his attitude with the way he relates to players in his squad. The players seem to to have that atmosphere around them that supports their performance as provided by the coach, but with klopp hardly a time will there be complains of him having issues with his team players, he rather tries his best to bring out the very best in them. Ten hag would have been a good coach if only he works on his character with his players.

I think I understood what you were saying here, but let me tell you that the words you chose imply that you don't agree with me at all and that you couldn't agree any less because you fully disagree already. Tongue I just wanted to let you know that it means "I couldn't agree more".

Klopp is in his own league and ten Hag isn't even close to that. I doubt that any of the big clubs, which has the potential to win the Champions League, would try to get ten Hag as a coach. He can be lucky that Manchester United wanted him, but now everyone can see the results of his methods and that is not the best marketing for himself.

In my opinion, what Manchester United did to deGea was quite excessive because it is impossible for a goalkeeper not to make mistakes, even the best goalkeepers do and it has been proven that the hope of bringing in a new goalkeeper so that he can make changes to the defense to make it stronger, until now it still seems to have failed, Onana made mistakes after mistakes, but at least deGea is lucky not to be the one to blame for what is happening to Manchester United now because he has left the club.
If i am not mistaken Ten Hag was never complaining about De Gea performance during playing at Manchester United because Ten Hag feel De Gea still able to performing well for important matches and why Manchester United decide not to extended De Gea contract because De Gea has high salary and if he want to gets new contract then De Gea must be willing to reduce his salary but after several negotiations the two parties did not reach an agreement which make De Gea have to leave Manchester United last summer

Besides the reasons above Ten Hag want the goalkeeper who can build up the game and De Gea cannot able to do that which make Ten Hag have to look for other goalkeeper and he choose Onana but indeed this is failed transfer because Onana cannot able to performing well with Manchester United however regarding De Gea future recently he was linked to Newcastle this because Nick Pope was got long term injured and Newcastle owner feel De Gea is suitable as the replacement of Nick Pope especially he already know the atmosphere of Premier League
That's right, the salary reason makes De Gea and Man United not reach an agreement, I think De Gea is also very suitable if he moves to Newcastle. Having been without a club for half a season, this is the best opportunity for De Gea to choose a new port for his football career, he must forget his bad impression with the Red Devils. I think the SPL or MLS could also be the right option, clubs from these two leagues will be able to meet their high salary demands. On other hand, personally I think De Gea would be better off moving to look for a new challenge. SPL will be the right destination before deciding to retire, and De Gea doesn't need to worry about the amount of salary he will receive if he is willing to move to the land of the camel.

But then I wonder why De Gea didn't get an offer from the Saudi Professional League or MLS or if he did, why did he refuse it then? I haven't heard of De Gea and any offers from the SPL, but taking a break is rather unusual for a professional soccer player. Does anyone know what he was waiting for and could he sign a contract at any time or does he have to wait until there are transfer windows? I think if he has had a lucrative offer from a club, he would have agreed to play for a lot of money. The only explanation is that there was no lucrative offer or he didn't want to sign a contract for the long term because he was hoping to return to a club in Europe.

That close competition you are talking about ended without success for 11 years in a row and Bayern Munich won the Bundesliga title every single year. It sometimes looked close, but Dortmund never won it. Now it is beginning to get serious for Dortmund and they have four games now that are rather easy and should be won.
They were only able to compete to be runners-up and were never able to beat Bayern Munich's dominance in the Bundesliga competition. Last season was the biggest opportunity for Dortmund to take over the Bundesliga title, but in the end they gave up the title to Bayern Munich in the last match at home and this is really embarrassing in my opinion.

If they don't at least get 10 points out of those four games, I doubt that this is going to end with the qualification for the Champions League this year. They have all the hard games towards the end of the second half of the season and I doubt that they will win a lot of those games against teams like Stuttgart, Bayern or Leverkusen.
Dortmund's next four matches will be against teams that are not much stronger than them and it should be easy for them to get full points. But because the competition is getting tougher, it is possible that Dortmund will lose some points in this match. Now their position is stuck in the top five of the standings and if Dortmund don't try harder to secure a win then I also doubt that they will qualify for the Champions League next season.

Juventus is maintaining an unbeaten record at home. Their playing style is heavily defensive with minimal attacks. Although this strategy might not work well in the UCL, it's proving effective in Serie A. The recent match was quite boring and not enjoyable to watch, but the crucial win earned them valuable points. Juventus has narrowed the gap at the top of Serie A to just two points, keeping the pressure on Inter.
Juventus' success in narrowing the points gap with Inter Milan at the top of the Serie A standings is quite extraordinary because this season Juventus does not need to think about other competitions apart from just competing in Serie A. So the strategy that Juventus has used to continue winning at home is certainly still good enough for him this season, even though next season it might not be good enough. Especially when Juventus returns to playing in a big competition like the UCL next season, it is clear that Juventus must have another strategy to win the match.

I am only waiting for one thing to happen at Manchester United and I have expressed it quite many times which is when the hell is Ten Haag going to be expelled and fired from the team management. What is the management of Manchester United waiting for to come on woth a decision no matter that is the end of year something should be taken care of.Really disappointing seeing Manchester United degrading such far

This is the riddle of the season and I have no clue why the management of Manchester United is still hesitating to take action and finally correct the mistake they made with hiring ten Hag. But it can't take too long if they continue playing like this.

And there is the next unexpected result and I am sure that a lot of people here were 100% convinced that this game is a guaranteed win for Arsenal against Fulham and they got proven wrong. It looks like there are no guaranteed results anymore.

Tottenham put an end to the success streak of Bournemouth now. That was a solid win and well needed.

Of course they would have had many options, but I am convinced that Real Madrid is very happy to have found a solution with Ancelotti and to now have him as their coach for a longer period of time. Whether he gets sacked in the meantime, nobody knows. He can't afford any bad times with the team, but that would be the same for any other coach. I believe that for the time being the combo consisting of Ancelotti + the team is the best that Real Madrid can currently have. If they want to target Xabi Alonso in the future, I think it is still best if Alonso can gather some more experience with a team like Leverkusen and go to Real Madrid one day with full confidence.

It looks like this is a great decision for all parties, Ancelotti is a great coach and his departure could create a problem for Real Madrid as finding a good coach for such a team is not so easy. I also heard that Ancelotti will continue to work with the Brazilian team, but now I see that Ancelotti has extended his contract with Real until 2026. This is probably the right decision, if it brings good results for the team and Ancelotti is comfortable working here, then why change anything.
