601  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: November 17, 2023, 10:52:24 PM
It is not wrong if we want to pay attention to this all this time, because the key players on each team are very important for the team's performance and the level of consistency of the team itself in each match. So far, neither Monaco nor PSG have played so badly in their matches, so you need to pay special attention when you want to bet even though their match takes place at PSG's home ground. However, that doesn't mean that Monaco can't win this match because Monaco is also doing very well this season in Ligue1.
PSG has obviously gotten their key players intact and ready for this match, although their line up isn't out, but it's most likely they are going to have their key players featured, mbappe is a key player for PSG and it's almost certain they he will play except for injury or red card which he currently has none.

Monaco is a team who can't be considered poor with their performance and are definitely not going to make it easy for PSG if they must win, Monaco started off the season so well and ever since have performed any less they have been really brilliant just like PSG has done so far as well this season, so I expect an interesting match between both teams an for now can't really say wou will be taking home three points or maybe they would both share the points equally.
Undoubtedly, Monaco and Paris Saint Germaine has been very impressive since the start of the French Ligue 1 campaign which has made so many people to find it very difficult to predict the outcome of the game.
That being said, I still think that one of the two teams are better in terms of performance and because the supposed better team will be playing the game at home, I expect Paris Saint Germaine to win the game. In my prediction, I'll chose a PSG win while also using the option of the both teams to score because definitely both of the teams will score in that game.

After all it is a home game and I think that is one advantage that PSG has in this game over Monaco, but the pure quality they have in their squad is always an advantage if they are in good shape and can play their best game. A lot will depend on Mbappe, which is not surprising. If he has a day with great efficiency and gets his opportunities, there is no stopping him. So for the sake of the league I hope that PSG doesn't win, but I believe they will win.

This season was probably the worst that Ajax Amsterdam is going through. I thought that after their two wins in the league this could be the moment where they can turn everything around, but it isn't happening. The loss against Brighton and now also the draw against Almere in the last minute of the game is another setback instead of a turnaround. I believe that this season will have consequences for several more seasons. Usually Ajax is a real talent factory, but when they don't play in the Champions League, they are no as attractive anymore for young players.
They shouldn't be too heavy on themselves, to be fair everyone has bad years, and that could happen. The idea is simple, Brighton is having a wonderful year right? They are doing great, and they did quite great last year as well, so they are on the rise, and Ajax on the other hand is doing terrible, right? They are not doing all that great and their results are unsatisfactory.

So the question is simple, in five years, do you see Ajax being better than Brighton? I can see that for sure, and that is the important part. Consistency is the key in sports, and a team that is consistently good, could always have bad years, and a team that rarely ever does good, could end up having a blast season. We will see Brighton get worse, and Ajax get better.

They should be very heavy on themselves because the consequences for Ajax Amsterdam have a nightmare season weigh much heavier than the consequences for Brighton having a nightmare season. Ajax Amsterdam was the first address for many young players who couldn't yet make the next step to the big clubs in England or Spain, but still wanted to play at a club with great perspective and the Champions League. Perspective is falling apart, Champions League is history. The Eredivisie itself is by far not as attractive as the Premier League. Playing for a club in the Premier League, but not in the Champions League is several times better than playing in the Eredivise without Champions League.

It is quite remarkable that if Aston Villa wins, Tottenham will be out of the top 4, but just recently (2 rounds ago) Tottenham was in first place. But it’s hard for me to believe in such an outcome, since three defeats in a row would be too unfair for Tottenham. I hope they stay in the title race. Overall, we are looking forward to a great tour with three big games at once.
All teams are in the race for the top four this season and I'm guessing som elite team will decline in performance. Aston Villa of yesterday are now competing with Tottenham Hotspur position, and Unai Emery seems to be very determine to fight for a place in the top four this season. Tottenham Hotspur have slim chances of winning games currently due to the massive hits of injuries and awful incident of red cards. Spurs boss, Angelos Postecoglou will have to work harder to revived his club and enable them to stand in solid position to win league games.

I still think that Manchester City has the best stamina from the top teams and maybe Liverpool is on that level as well. Arsenal also and I have doubts about Tottenham Hotspurs. Their first games were all spectacular with some great results against better teams as well, but I think there could be coming more problems for them in the last few months. And Manchester City is the team that can win 10 consecutive games as they have demonstrated very often.
Manchester City has the strongest team among all and it will be difficult for them to drop from there first position because they know how hard they tried before getting to were they are now on the table because by then it Tottenham Hotspur that was impressively maintaining the first position of the premier League table before they were broken by Chelsea.

Although to an extent Manchester City nearly lost the performance or courage to move to the first position on the premier league table because there performance was affected by the injury of Kevin de Bruyne but they were lucky to have gotten were they are now.

They are still the strongest team in my opinion, yes, but the gap between their quality and the quality of Real Madrid is not as big as it was last season. Kevin De Bruyne is out, Gundogan is out and that makes a huge difference because both were key players in so many respects. They had countless scorer points together. With that duo being gone, the game has changed a bit and you can already see that Manchester City struggles more often in situation where they wouldn't have struggled in the past season. But I am very curious to see how they will do this time against Los Blancos if they play against each other.

Adanademirsport looks to be third in the league, I knew that Besiktas was the third biggest because I follow them on transfermarkt, the whole league, and see the values of the clubs, seems like Besiktas has been on a rot recently and not doing all that well.

Beşiktaş is very bad this year because there were no transfers to the team. The management brought the wrong players to the team.
It would be very good for Beşiktaş to finish the league in 3rd place this year.

I can't remember exactly where I read it or heard about it, but wasn't Besiktas in a complicated financial situation not long ago? I am not sure, but it is indeed true that not much has happened during the last transfer window, or at least not much that would have meant an improvement to their team. But it looks quite bad because Galatasaray and Fenerbahce are doing extraordinarily well. If the table was closer, it wouldn't be as obvious.

I know that Beşiktaş's financial situation has never been good. Beşiktaş always has financial problems. They cannot spend a lot of money during transfer periods. This is what I know, it may be wrong.

I guess you could say that about almost any club in the soccer world that they are financially in a bad condition, but I think I have heard that for Besiktas it was a bit harder than for others when the Covid pandemic hit. But I can't recall all the details and also can't find too much on the Internet. But it sometimes feels that Turkey was more popular for some very good players years ago than it is now. Is it just a wrong feeling or have there been more stars in the past than there are today?
605  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2023/2024 on: November 16, 2023, 09:22:44 PM
And barely anyone dares to say the truth, but I agree with you. Neymar can really be fun to watch as a player, but his contribution is sometimes difficult to put into perspective. I think a world star player really leaves a gap that a club can't fill when an injury or a suspension happens. Real Madrid without Ronaldo or Barcelona without Messi during their prime were not the same clubs. PSG without Mbappe would be tough for them, but without Neymar it was ok. I really don't think Neymar is a bad player or makes no contribution at all, but the truth is that Al-Hilal is doing perfectly fine without him.

I agree that Neymar is quite talented and fun to watch. But he need to learn ethical practices and also need to know how to work as a team. Al Hilal did the right thing by deregistering him. They wasted a lot of time, effort and funds to bring him to Saudi Arabia, but in the end they were treated unfairly by the same guy on whom they put so much trust. Anyway, Neymar may be having his own plans. I don't know what are his future options. He's still young and therefore there is a good chance that he'll move back to one of the European clubs.

By now what's the point for Neymar to learn ethical practices... I don't think ethics is the right word although I know what you mean, but I guess you are talking about his unprofessional behavior sometimes. Too many parties, too bad nutrition, too bad attitude on the pitch, a lot of diving when there was no foul etc.

But now I think that possibility and hope is really gone. He is in his 30s now and it is not so much about his attitude, but his injuries and that is something he can hardly change. Al-Hilal knew all the details about him, they knew how many games he missed for various reasons and yet they bought him. That was their own fault although I doubt they care.
606  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: November 16, 2023, 08:39:18 PM
I am confident that if Bellingham plays against Cádiz, he will continue scoring goals because he can position himself very well and Griezmann will not be able to compete with him for the top scorer this season. Bellingham will get the Golding boots if nothing happens to him because he is Real Madrid's goal scorer now and the club doesn't have a better striker for now like Benzema. If Bellingham plays against Cádiz he will continue to score because he can position himself very well and Vini jr locate him and give him the ball and score I don't think Real Madrid can compete with Barcelona in the league this season if Bellingham is not in Real Madrid, because they lack striker and i think Real madrid will get mbappe next season if he didn't renew is contract with PSG.
I don't see Bellingham not being able to do it if he has the chance, but it's not his main job to score goals because Real Madrid have strikers who should be more reliable. Bellingham has scored 10 goals so far and of course this will increase as the season is still very long for him. But he is not a center forward who will always be expected to score goals so perhaps he will stop at junctions to let another striker do it.

I don't expect Bellingham to lead the top scorers until the end of the season, but it could be possible for Bellingham. Lewandowski and several other strikers should be able to fight for that position instead of Bellingham, but so far they are only a few steps away from Bellingham's goal record.

Bellingham is really a nice to have striker-like player, but he does so many things for the team that the fact he is scoring goals is crazier than many people think, but the downside is that others should be readily available to score once he has a bunch of games where he doesn't score. So far it worked out with Rodrygo and Vinicius Junior, but the numbers are still improvable. Especially in the Champions League it is important that it doesn't all depend on Bellingham.

This is so wrong because if you look at how Napoli did last season, they had an incredibly strong early season until they had this huge advantage over every other team, and then they also had several weak games, more losses and draws towards the end. I think the weak games came when they got eliminated from the Champions League, but comparing this early season to the early season from last year, I can't think of a coach that would have been able to safely maintain Napoli on that level. The stats they achieved were insane.

We are giving too much emphasis on Rudi Garcia without looking at the players that were in deficiency. The time they lost matches was after Osimhen had an injury and instead of them to change strategy, they play plainly games with Osimhen style but Khvicha couldn't deliver ways of Osimhen, so should we blame him for the players incompetent? No, he can only do his best to give the players what they can do, how they do it is beyond him when they are playing.

Those are my thoughts, I agree. Blaming the coaches all the time is not the right to go about it. I mean no coach can be blamed for not being to replace a player like Osimhen one to one. Because if a coach had a striker like Osimhen sitting on the bench, everyone would call that coach an idiot Tongue

It's like the top players who successfully stay at the top for years and years and never decline in performance before they get older. They are exceptional for that reason and the same applies to whole teams. Napoli played a perfect season for almost the entire team, but how likely was it that they can do it again? We are still talking about Napoli in a league that is pretty strong at the top. Napoli can't be compared to prime Barcelona or Real Madrid.

I know this isn't a topic about Balotelli, but I would not mention him as a promising player in the sense that he played so well that I thought he could become one cornerstone of the Italian team. This guy had such a shitty control over his attitude, such a bad character that the only thing people were waiting for were not any further important goals for the team, but for the day he would disappear from the soccer stages. If someone has great talent but is so stupid like Balotelli, the person should be avoided like the plague by any team. They destroy more than they create in a team.
He was one of the best finishers, but his character and nervous nature ruined his career. If he had continued with his controlled and hard-working nature, I'm sure he could still be one of the forwards pushing for the top. He still continues to contribute goals to the teams he plays for. He is still a very strong player physically.

You are right that he had strong striking qualities, but it can't be ignored that dedication and the will power to make sacrifices and practice self-control is an integral part of a world class player. Imagine that Ronaldo or Messi would have had the same character problems as Balotelli, there is no chance that any of those two would have ever won a Ballon d'or. A player can't do whatever they want no matter what their talent is and for me bad character destroys good talent. The problem wasn't a rude character, but Balotelli took it so far that he risked the success of the team too many times and not only caused himself to get into trouble.

Olympique Lyon is an important team and this table is their big problem. Lyon beat Rennes 1-0 and got the first victory. By beating Lyon and Rennes, the last team in the league, they showed that even though they are last, they have a quality squad. Lyon will be saved from the lower ranks, but being in this rank will make them self-criticize after a long time.

Put differently, you are saying that any team beating Rennis is automatically a high quality team. I am not sure you really meant to say that as it means literally nothing to beat Rennes when it comes to assessing the quality of a squad. If they beat PSG or Nice, I would agree that this would allow for some conclusions to be made, but beating a team that is positioned in the lower half of the table is really nothing that is helpful to see whether it is a quality team or not.

In terms of intrigue, a 1-1 result or a Juventus victory would be the ideal outcome of this game. If Inter wins, it will practically be the end of the race for the title. Otherwise, Milan and Napoli will have a chance to join the race again. Although in the next round Milan plays Fiorentina, and Napoli plays Atalanta, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they lose points.
A rare case, but the next tour will be a tour where all the top 6 teams play among themselves.

I have honestly never considered a Juventus Turin loss in this game as the end of the title race. If that was the case, it could have been called a day whenever a team was 5 points ahead in any league. It would still be a 2-ball game. Juventus Turin could just get back in track and keep winning their games and there is only one loss needed and Inter Milan would be in striking distance. I agree that it would destroy a lot of the excitement in the league for the moment, but it would not mean the title for Inter just yet.

Theoretically, you can lose any advantage, but if Inter wins now, I think their quotes will be about 1.4. And this will be quite logical - 13 games + won personal matches is a distance where luck has very little meaning and it is difficult to blame the current situation in the tournament on it. If one team is better than others in such a segment, then it will be more likely that after completing another similar segment, its advantage will increase. But I agree that it won’t be exactly the end, but close to it.

Obviously the advantage would grow by a lot and the bookmakers would take that into account, but since it is early season there could still come some more volatility into the performance of any team. Napoli had such a strong start last season and yet they ended up with 10 games they did not win. Any performances of the beginning of the season can't simply be interpolated until the end of the season. I know that you know that, but still two draws for Inter and two wins for Juventus would make the fight so close again. But let's wait for this game and then continue our discussion. Wink

Arsenal was surprisingly lose from Lens few weeks ago and after international break they will try to get revenge from Lens in the 5th match and if Arsenal win from Lens they will be automatically qualified and most likely finish at first position but Lens also had same ambition because if they can able to beat Arsenal then Lens has just open their opportunity to qualified and after beated PSV last week Lens can able to bounce back and won from Marseille with narrow scores at Ligue 1 even so with Arsenal that recently they got 2 consecutive wins in all competitions so this is interesting who will be the winner of this match and i assume as a host Arsenal will being an the favourite

Nobody, in my opinion, was expecting Arsenal to lose to Lens that day because, at the time, it was obvious to all of us that Arsenal was superior to Lens. In fact, at the time, Lens was so out of form in their home league that everyone was lamenting their lack of form; therefore, defeating Arsenal in such poor form was unexpected. Though I am aware that Lens are proven and are currently in better form, but still I don't think they will have another chance to defeat Arsenal now that they are heading into the second leg of the match at the Emirates. I firmly believe that Arsenal will do everything in their power to win, even if arsenal is not the game may ends in a draw. But I can't say that lens can win the match.
Arsenal lost by only one goal. Lance had a 5-3-2 formation which speaks volumes about defense. Arsenal had Saka injured, which also had an impact on the game. In the starting line-up, Arteta fielded the injured Bukayo, who was completely unable to regain his feet. This all ended up being a loss.

I wouldn't nail this loss down to Arteta's decision to let Bukayo play. I think if that games was to be repeated a couple of times, Lens wouldn't win it every time as Arsenal had the upper hand in most statistics, but couldn't turn their superiority into goals. I am sure that this will be quite different in the second leg when Arsenal plays at home and Lens does not have the additional support from the fans.

That is what North Macedonia is hoping for, people to just look at what's going on on paper Wink Italy has some great memories of North Macedonia! Cheesy It was against all expectations when North Macedonia kicked Italy out of the World Cup play-offs in March 2022 and despite these huge differences on paper, the game was lost. I recall that Italy had an insane number of corners and yet it was the weaker team on paper that won the game. I think this time Italy will pay more attention to not making any mistakes twice.

These sort of upsets can be expected. Italy is still in the rebuilding phase. They are no longer the team that we know from the 1990s and early 2000s. Younger players are not coming through the ranks and promising players such as Mario Balotelli have suddenly vanished from the international scene all of a sudden. They failed to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, and even now the qualification for 2026 World Cup is not guaranteed. At this point, there is not much they can do. They are undergoing a natural decline, similar to the case with Germany and Netherlands.

Winning by any score is definitely very important for Lyon because they have never won since the start of the season and they only felt it in Week 12. Another advantage in this match was that Rennes only played with 10 people after one of their players received a red card at the start of the match.

This made Lyon even more favored to win and O'brien scored Lyon's only winning goal in the second half. With this victory, Lyon has collected 7 points and they still need 6 more points to get out of the relegation zone and that is another challenge they have to overcome.
Lyon's journey to get out of the relegation zone will take a very long time, that's because based on their own performance which is still erratic and even tends to be bad, as evidenced by the 1 victory they managed to get that had to wait until week 12.
Now that hope arises after they managed to book their first victory, but they must still do hard work to make them better. One more thing, this first victory they achieved was inseparable from their numerical advantage after Rennes only played with 10 people even from the 5th minute.
Believe it or not, I still have faith that Lyon will soon strengthen their performance to avoid the relegation zone despite going through a long period of time, but remember, Lyon is one of the clubs that is quite good in League 1 and we will see a pretty good performance after getting a few wins or getting players. just from the transfer market later.

I guess nobody nobody thought the table would be looking like this for Olympique Lyon after 11 games, but this trend looks so bad for them that I also doubt that they will recover from that. Because this is not just about bad results, but about having the second weakest offense of the league. 7 points after eleven games doesn't look like an outlier that will soon be corrected. This could a fierce fight until the last day against the relegation zone.

The coach is always an important position for a team, but I think Al-Hilal is also loaded with international players that have had some sort of highly professional career. With Neymar being out, they still don't seem to be any weaker than they are with him. I thought that Al-Nassr would dominate the league with Ronaldo and Mané both being in great shape and also playing together as they understand each other pretty well. But so far Al-Hilal has been the more consistent team. The difference is in the defense as Al-Hilal only conceded half as many goals as Al-Nassr.

All that Neymar managed to show is that Al-Hilal is stronger without him  Grin Over the previous 6 years, Al-Hilal have been champions 5 times, plus they continue to strengthen their roster all the time, so it is clear that it will not be easy to take the title from them. Let's see how their personal meeting goes, maybe this will be a turning point in the championship or the end of the championship race. It’s a pity that Al-Nasr lost points out of the blue at the beginning of the season.

Xavi has done an amazing job with Barcelona, leading the club to its first 200 goals under the management of Xavi. Xavi is also to thank Lewandowski for converting the Penalty Kick to a goal. 41 goals from the 200 came from Lewandowski alone, 19 from Ferran Torres, 13 from Pedri and Aubameyang, 12 from Rafinha and Ansu Fati, and 10 from Dembele.

I think since the assumption of the position by Xavi as the manager, the club have played over 100 games and conceded about 103. Lewandowski also scored the 100th goal for Barca on their match against Atletico Madrid. What Barcelona need now is another experienced striker that will back up the efforts of Lewandowski. But the issue with these star players is that they come in to dominate the upcoming players and some times their performances are not that impressive too.

He hadnt even started and everyone was attacking him, in fact I was saying, guys, let him work a little, he has just started
Now you understand that a little time needs to pass before you can judge the work of a professional. Xavi is good, see barcellona now!

That may be valid for smaller clubs, but seriously when a club like Barcelona or Real Madrid or Manchester City hires a coach, do you think that everyone is fine with giving them a few years before they become successful? Whether we like that or not, but I think that that is the reason why the pressure is so high in those clubs. There is no time for big mistakes. These clubs want to win titles from day one.

To be fair someone as talented as Igor Tudor being the manager of Napoli would be a good thing for them, he is not a bad manager and should be helping them. If nothing else, he would be decent until the end of the season and then they could take a look what they could do later on, that would be the smart case for them.

I think it is difficult to arrange something bigger, they need to do something much better, they are not doing well so far and that is why they are going to kick Garcia out and if Tudo could take this team to top four and make them stay there until the end of the season, next year they can either be happy and keep going with him, or fire him at May and then hire someone else during the summer and do better next year.

Coach Rudi Garcia is disappointing in performance after only five months of leading the defending Serie A champions. Garcia was unable to help Napoli maintain the same form as last season. It wouldn't be too much to blame Garcia. This is very true when De Laurentiis intends to fire Garcia. After the 0-1 loss to Empoli at Stadio Maradona. This is considered an impact that helps De Laurentiis make decisions more quickly.

Igor Tudor may soon get a new job. He is considered one of the leading candidates for the position of Napoli head coach. Bringing Napoli into the top 4 is relatively easy for him. Because Napoli has quality players, they were the defending champions last season. Igor Tudor just needs to arrange the squad and restore the players' morale.

There is what I am waiting for, which is the rise of Chelsea and Manchester United. If they rise then it will make the competition even more interesting.
Between Chelsea and Manchester United, Manchester United will have more problems because they were already having problems, but now will have more to deal with Erikson their midfielder who was very good in some games is injured and will not return soon due to a knee problem, their new striker also has problems with injuries to deal with, he is suffering from a muscle strain and will miss a few games. Manchester United struggle to win games recently scoring just one goal, maybe with the opportunity that Martial will have, he will be able to score more goals.

Manchester United news

Manchester United need to improve, their next three opponents in the premier league are Everton, Newcastle United and Chelsea.

I guess any player that gets injured these days is bad news for Manchester United as they have so many problems with many of their players already. This season won't end well for them. Last season I couldn't believe that they made it into the top four, but that was more of a lucky ending for them because so many teams failed to play in normal shape. This time it is different. I would even doubt that they finish this season in front of Newcastle and Brighton.
