Now that 420 is well behind us and 666 is on the horizon, looks like the next milestone is 1337, notwithstanding 1000 which is so lame.

Who, and what plans are you making when the exchange rate reaches 1337?

Depends on why you're doing it.  Help me imagine a scenario where you'd wank off for the gain of someone else.

This guy is on his deathbed... see... and he's paralysed from the neck down. His last request is to have a man masterbate in front of him. In spite of all the efforts by his family and friends via social media, there were no takers. Enter, The Most Interesting Bitcoiner In The World.

That said, try getting said image outta your head the rest of the day.  Grin

Yurop is an ancient continent, rumoured to have been sunk, just like Atlantis. It used to be a magical, super-fun land, full of fairies and butterflies, trolls and other magical creatures.

I learnt something today.
5425  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Previous virtual currecny in China was 13% of the Chinese cash economy?? WTF on: November 18, 2013, 04:19:15 PM
Wow!!! Many of you are already well aware of what I'm going to share, but because I'm a novice, I can't seem to wrap my head around this, so I'm sharing it in my attempt to get a better grasp of what I read. Despite it being factually, I'm still left with a sense of WTF amazement.

So I'm reading this article about how China previously went bonkers for another virtual currency (QQ) a couple of years ago. And one of the interesting things I read is that "just a couple of years, QQ had grown to such an extent that some estimates put it at 13% of the Chinese cash economy"..

Unfortunately, QQ was controlled by one company and the Chinese gov't shut QQ down overnight.  No such action can be taken against our Bitcoin since it has no master.

So all I can say is holy fcuk Batman. I'm certain that there will be bumps in the road, but the future looks interesting to say the least.

I'm beginning to wonder if it's all based on hype:

The largest Bitcoin exchange in the world is located securely inside China, and one of the world's largest Internet companies, Baidu (BIDU), is integrating and using Bitcoin. It seems highly unlikely that Baidu would be able to integrate Bitcoin payments across its vast network of users without some sort of complicit nod from higher authorities.

Prepare to be shocked as to how many bitcoins Baidu has collected to date: https://blockchain.info/address/1NtbQKVFxAPc8mmBoWwRzhg7o3EMCBsxNg

5427  Economy / Speculation / Re: Spread Mt.Gox-Bitstamp ??? on: November 18, 2013, 03:55:42 PM
A $71 USD spread. I knew I should have turned down that last load of barn wood and converted all my money into bitcoins.

Actually, the return I get with flipping barn wood is still better than if had all my money tied up in bitcoins, albeit the gap is narrowing as the economy improves and more people started doing what I do.

What is this reference to "barn wood" a cannot find a source explaining this?  You mean "barn wood == USD"?  As in both good for burning?

Apologies for any misunderstanding. I reclaim barn wood for a living and was drawing a comparison of the profit margins between buying and selling such and investing in Bitcoin, albeit I do have some bitcoin holdings, and will have in my possession more once InstaWallet returns to me my 1100+ bitcoins.

The gap is now ~$79 between BS and MG.

The Department of Justice and Securities and Exchange Commission are telling a U.S. Senate committee that Bitcoins are legitimate financial instruments, boosting prospects for wider acceptance of the virtual currency.

The DoJ because of DPR, and the SEC because they see bitcoin signs.

Bitcoins were trading for $460 apiece today on Bitstamp, one of the more active online exchanges, where the digital money is traded for dollars, euros and other currencies. The virtual currency reached a record of $473 earlier today, and is up more than 30-fold so far this year.

Must be an old article.

wouldn't surprise me if a number of senators bought a truck load of coins today.....

Only if they were purchased as an investment. My money's on others purchasing bitcoins to be used to...how can I say this delicately...bribe congressman. One guy, seen in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cesSRfXqS1Q, can easily believe that bitcoins are untrackable, not aware that the ledger is publicly available.

I ran into a flea market friend of mine today and he said to me that he, as well as I, missed out on some terrific yard sale a couple weeks ago. He stated the location and the pile of stuff already sold awaiting pick-up, all of which he desired. I smiled, then informed him that I only attended about a half dozen sales this year, with the one he described among them. I didn't have the heart to tell him how much I came out as a bandit, but I'm sure he knew I did/will do well.

He then proceeded to tell me how he recently paid $50 each for two rare slot machines, of which had the n word on the wheels. He profited close to $20K when he sold them to another dealer, and there was still margin to be had, but he wasn't greedy. Kenny's a pretty straight-up guy, and I've never had reasons to ever doubt his success stories.

My friend told me about something he said is 'Bitcoin/Mastercoin'.  Where can I find out more about that? I don't see it on these threads here.

Not sure where you're located in the following image, but...

I do not have an account and they cost 25BTC, so if anyone likes my idea and is willing to donate their account please get in touch, you can send me a PM or preferrably use my GPG key below.

I'm pretty sure it does not cost 25 BTC to get forum access. That's about $11,000 at current exchange rates.

 Huh

It cost only $25 USD to join for a yearly membership. A drop in the bucket for most.

Was that meant as a double entendre being whom the reply was to?

Electricity just came back on and a fleet of emergencies vehicles have headed west of Sandwich. No sirens as of yet.

Ready to hit Streator, IL, having been on the ground for tens of miles now. Just south of me, of which we're under a thunderstorm warning and tornado watch. The projected path is toward Yorkville, IL.

I consider it a selfless act because you would not want to talk to me when I haven't masturbated for a week believe me.

From the tone of your post, it looks like you're overdue. Take care of it and report back. We'll wait.
