How are you planning on shipping to Europe without the pizzas going bad?

Via a warning: Consume at own risk if shipping takes more than 48 hours. Otherwise, consider it a novelty item.
5922  Economy / Goods / Re: Bruno's Micro Pizzeria on: October 25, 2013, 05:30:14 AM
A penny is 0.75 inches or 19.05mm, so I guess mine would be about the size of the pizza depicted below (probably slightly smaller) at 22mm. And mine will be baked inside flat stones at probably three pennies(?) in depth.

Antarctica's tourist season is short, just five months, from the beginning of November through the end of March.

Makes sense, bud. Ironically, I think, it's best to trek to the North Pole during the winter since it's just a giant ice mass that may not exist during the summer months.

i have to do early march as I cant go sooner cuz my second child is on the way.

also pretty sure part of the north pole is there in the summer still Smiley

And the part that remains is claimed as a sovereign nation by the first guy to get there yearly.

I'm going to be honest and say that I have had a plan for about 1.5 years now to go to the South Pole with crypto (needed time and funds I now personally made). I have a 50% chance of doing it this March or so. I really wanted to be the first but if he gets there and does it, congrats.

I see you put a lot thought into this, Goat. March, eh? Care to guess why this guy's going in November?

When I suggested a caricature of my likeness, I meant of the real me and not by avatar.

Make the beard longer and don with one of those white chef outfits including the hat.
5928  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BOUNTY ~ Bruno's Micro Pizzeria seeks Logo on: October 25, 2013, 04:36:08 AM
maybe I didn't get it right: is the pizzeria, the pizza or Bruno micro?

Bruno's Micro Pizzeria is the name of the site, and micro pizzas are the signature products.

While out harvesting barn wood today, I envision a B&M version of Bruno's Micro Pizzeria that'll actually have micro pizzas on the menu. A rustic theme joint that will also have some normal sized pasta dish (one choice only) and a variety of salads and drinks. Think Heart Attact Grill, but at the only end of the spectrum.

While getting the link for the Heart Attack Grill, I noticed they have nurses giving spankings. I'll need a (dis)similar gimmick.

big question - will they accept bitcoin?

Yes!

Haha that's a catchy slogan.

No Micro Pizza for you for one year!
5929  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoins to the South Pole! on: October 25, 2013, 04:24:35 AM
What about the first bitcoin transaction from the South Pole? Could that be possible do you think? I guess they have internet on the Amundsen-Scott Base (OT: Amundsen was 1st to reach the South Pole so he should get the most credit).

I came here to specifically ask YOU that question.

If possible, what would he buy? I'm thinking pre-ordering a pizza scheduled to coincide when he gets home.

Did somebody already mention planting a Bitcoin flag?
5930  Economy / Goods / Re: Bruno's Micro Pizzeria on: October 25, 2013, 04:12:40 AM
No, I am serious.   I have grave concerns here about giving some guy named "Bruno" my hard earned money on the promise that he knows how to make an itty bitty pizza.   I demand proof that "Bruno" is a master pizza chef and not just some putz that collects wood off barns or something like that.
Can you imagine giving this guy all your money and then sitting around starving at home waiting for your pizza and you find out that Bruno is really a carpenter that can never deliver on his promises of the perfect micro pizza?
You people fall for everything.   You never think or check things out.   I expect most of you still buy sea monkeys thinking that the next batch will be better.

Nice prose, but you forgot the logo:

Will the preorders be baked and shipped by order date or will you be making lots of pizzas a kind at a time?  I want to know if I order pepperoni and I was the first order, I will get the first pizza.  I don't want guys who ordered mushroom pizzas a week after me getting their pizzas first because you found it was easier to cook the mushroom version!

Also, if you are taking preorders, will they be able to upgrade their pizzas to a better pizza if you come out with a hand tossed or organic version before they ship?

Yes to all the above unless no is the better answer.

I have NEVER been disappointed with my sea monkey purchases.  Plainly stated...every batch has been an under sea marvel.

With that said, put me down for a pizza pre-order OP.  Don't worry about delivering it though, as I intend to sell my spot in the pizza purchase queue on eBay before it ever arrives.

I'll send you another free pizza if you list on eBay that you're selling your queue position (call it 5 for sake of argument) for one of the first 20 Bruno's Micro Pizzeria supreme pizzas. Remember, it's 22mm solar baked inside a flat stone. Link to the official website http://brunosmicropizzeria.com/ of which looks like shit so far. I'm not happy with that theme, but luckily I purchased a bulk lot.
5931  Economy / Services / Re: Bitcoin 100: Developed Specifically for Non-Profits on: October 25, 2013, 02:29:10 AM
This is Nikos who sent the PM above.

I will set up the non-profit with a wallet and I will get back to you.

Thank you!

If their not going to use BitPay, then make sure that at least a dedicated Bitcoin wallet address is prominently displayed on either their home page or donation page. Ideally, a Bitcoin logo of sorts would be nice and it doesn't have to be clickable unless it's used on their home page and links to their donation page where a donor would be greeted with the other donation options.
5932  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: the plural & capitalization of bitcoin? on: October 25, 2013, 02:24:25 AM
Um the plural usage is right there in your quote.

Quote
and bitcoins (with a lower case b) to label units of the currency.

Do you also say I won five hundred dollar or man prices in the UK were expensive that [...] was 10 pound.

It is units of currency thus it is plural.   The only time the units of currency is singular is when it is one unit.

That will be one dollar.
That will be one bitcoin.

That will be two dollars
That will be two bitcoins.

I have a half dollar. I have .5 dollars.

I don't know who the OP is, but it's hard to trust a guy that doesn't have any grammatical errors in his posts.

Seriously, assuming the bitcoins could be raised (not outside the realm of possibilities), how likely is that an emblem can be produced and placed on his sled given that his departure date is fast approaching?
Thank you for your compliments regarding my grammar. I am actually Danish. This is me:

And thi is my website: Sirius Money.

I agree that this is late but the guy is in Norway now and I could get things sent to him with one or two days notice. I have some bitcoin bumber stickers which may be usable but I am very open to suggestions.

I see what you did there! You can't get nothin' passed me.  Roll Eyes

Is he really a fan? He certainly is a Statist at any rate. Perhaps he will learn over time.

I just found this on Vimeo (Malka vs Jim Rickards) :

http://vimeo.com/68798254 "DEBATE: WILL BITCOIN BECOME A WIDELY USED CURRENCY?"

Jim's starts off badly with a couple of factual errors :
02:07: says "Satoshi's paper does not talk about money..." (oh yes?)
02:21: says "the technologists do not understand money..." (wait, that would be us right?)

Round 2 is for scare tactics :
04:17: "There have been over a billion dollars of counterfeit bitcoins produced..."
04:20: "Tens of millions of dollars of stolen bitcoins..."
04:30: "CP plus gov already shutting this down etc..."

Round 3 :
09:28: "bitcoin.org / mtGox says do not put more than can afford to lose, not a currency, etc" (i.e. Therefore it is basically no good)
10:08: Again says "the technologists do not understand money..."
10:30: Gives good little citizens (or subjects if you a Brit) credit if they choose to pay their taxes.
11:00: Did you know "the main encryption alg was invented by the NSA" - panic everyone
12:00: Violating lots of laws... "gov in process of shutting it down".

Round 4 (Jim asks questions) :
13:20: Mostly "bugs" and theft and hacking talk.
16:10: Ahh, so it wouldn't work in a world with no electricity? Tsk tsk tsk black mark against BTC right there. Seriously what?!
16:19: Gold, you see, doesn't need electricity...
   16:44: Deflation "problem"...

Round 5 (Malka asks questions) :
17:40: Jim says he is not against innovation...  "BTC is up against gov..." "Ability of the gov to destroy things" (have to agree there)

Round 6 (Jim rounds up) :
   21:45: All gloom and doom.

Round 7 (Malka rounds up) :
   24:12: ...

Vimeo search never seems to work well. I find its better to Google it externally this string "site:vimeo.com "DEBATE WILL BITCOIN BECOME A WIDELY USED CURRENCY"

Thanks for the summary.

I think the goldbugs are not worth the energy at this point. Just like real estate, stock or bond bugs they suffer from 'the one and only'. However in contrast to the other bugs they also have a vested interest for bitcoin not to succeed since that will destroy their wet dream of a return to the goldstandard.

I wish it was different. At first I thought they should be the first to see the potential and promote it, yet they fight it the hardest.

I'm moving on from these people. They are NOT low hanging fruit. Maybe later...

That would make a Gold Bug not very smart when they can hedge their investment also acting as a Bitcoin Bug (or is it Bit Bug?--talk about marketing!). At today's rate, they could purchase one ounce of gold and seven bitcoins at roughly the same price and see which one doubles its worth first. My money's on it being the bitcoins.

Is it just me or is news regarding bitcoin getting allot more positive recently?

It's just_me

lol Cheesy

I think I used to fuck your sister, Just Yu. She used to scream, "Just Me! Just Me! Just Me!", but I contributed that to her having a hairlip.

Recent history is littered with worthless derivatives and financial shenanigans.  Bitcoin promises a solution but ...  Winklevoss trust and Second Market Bitcoin Investment Fund promise safety and security but where are the coins?  None of their paperwork seem to show it.  If anyone has a public address for their coins please post it.  Otherwise these "Trusts" are nothing more then empty paper.

you are right. investing in the trust is not holding btc.

it is like investing in a gold etf, you dont hold gold...

There was a guy in Nevada once that did this but with silver. Now, what was his name again?

Just FYI I have no idea what you're referring to.
