My nephew asked to borrow a cigarette today. I asked him what he's doing with all the money he claims to be making as the head chef (though, when he describes his duties, it sounds like he's the dish washer) at the restaurant. He said that his friend wanted to buy a $20 scratch off lottery ticket but only had $10, so he invested (his words) the other $10 and they won $200. His share went toward gas in his girlfriend's car, and some other bullshit he had to dole out, hence not being able to buy cigarettes.

His mind is so fucked up due to his addiction, he no longer has a concept between what is real and is made up.

Know any place we can buy cake for bitcoins?

I was the first to use Walmart.

Come to think of it, that fuckin' cake cost me over $2,000, for I went to Walmart to pick up that order and it was in front that department three officers wanted to speak to me about pulling in front of some broad on the phone. That episode turned into a big mess and now I have to have an SR22 insurance.

6184  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: October 11, 2013, 03:34:32 AM
Some points to consider before accusing us of scam:
1. We stopped taking orders as soon as we had enough orders to account for the chips we ordered. If we were a scam, we would have continued taking orders and could have easily raised double the money we did.
2. We spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on components, heat sinks, cases, boards, cables. For people saying that its "only a few resistors", look at the BOM provided by BkkCoins. It says components cost around $23 for a K16. And this does not include the heat sinks (~$14), boards etc. For each K16, the components including the heat sink, board, power cables, etc. cost us around $45. And we were prepared to assemble around 5,000 K16s (for 80,000 chips). There goes $250,000. Why 80,000 chips? We had ordered 40,000 of our own and had at least 4 other parties who were going to get their boards assembled from us. But guess what? Tired of the delays from Yifu, they all ended up getting a refund from Avalon.
3. We spent so much time and effort trying to source the really hard to get components. You can go read the Klondike thread where everyone is discussing the shortage of the PICs, the IR3895s, and others. But we have all the components, we even overpaid to get some of them. Show me a scammer who would do that.
4. For the components that even we could not get, we invested a lot of time to search for alternates. For example, the Power Inductor 38L361C was not available anywhere, so we instead bought SPM10040T-R36M170. But the latter was not pin compatible with the former. So we ended up changing the circuit board. I will publish the updated KiCad files. Would a scammer go through all this trouble? Anyone with half a brain can answer this.

If we were a scam, we would have disappeared on June 20th.

Why going out of business?
I am really sick and tired of all the scam accusations. I appreciate all the negative criticism that the community does, resulting in catching scams in early stages in order to protect the newer members of the community. But baseless scam accusations from day one have taken their toll on our company. The FUD spread by a few members (along with the delay from Yifu) lead to a lot of refund requests. The result of which was that, if we continued with the project, we would have been left with inventory worth hundreds of thousands of dollars in our hands. And it would have been almost impossible to sell it at a price where we could even break even. Even if nobody asked for a refund, we would still have been left with about $125,000 worth of useless components (read point 4 above). But with about half of our customers asking for a refund, we would be stuck with another $350,000 worth of inventory that we couldn't have sold for more than $150,000, putting us under red for over $300,000. I am sorry, but I am not running a charity. It made much more sense to ask for a refund from Yifu and pay back as much as possible, without going into debt.

Why only a 50% refund?
With people who paid with PayPal taking a 100% refund, it leaves a lesser share for everyone else. I am sorry, but that's how it is. We do not want to be owing hundreds of thousands to PayPal. Also, with some customers contacting our bank with fraud accusations, Chase has shut down our bank accounts. In my opinion they were just looking for an excuse. They have already contacted us in the past, asking for more information about our business, just because we were a "Bitcoin related business."

Patience is a virtue
Now, you can either be content with the turnout of the whole fiasco and stop attacking me personally, and wait for your refunds. Or, you continue accusing me of being a scammer, and continue publishing my addresses publicly and tarnishing my image. Its up to you. Some of you have already done a lot of irreparable damage, not just to me but to all the TerraHash customers. And please remember, that there is only so much that I can take. If pushed into a corner, I will defend myself.

Meanwhile, at the ranch...

The NGO i was helping with last month mentioned that the people from Pampas Grande do hand made Alpaca socks.  Would anyone be interested? Or is this subject for a new topic?

Probably another thread, Vicente. BTW, you'll never guess which horsehead I spoke to via Skype via Rassah's phone in Atlanta last week.
6186  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Donate Bitcoins to ‘Truckers Ride For The Constitution’ on: October 11, 2013, 02:43:29 AM
Do NOT donate to this shit. These hypocrite truckers intend to shut down traffic on freeways to "protest government shutdown" (huh??) and their excuse is "we don't like Affordable Care Act (ACA, Obamacare) so we'll throw a tantrum until someone listens to us". Their other demands? "Reduce price of diesel" (as if government gets to decide the price) and "Repeal the laws forcing truckers to upgrade their trucks to new EPA clean air standards". Nobody wants clean air, right? Fuck these assholes.

Make sure you research the people behind this before donating to some yahoo who claims to be collecting money for some other yahoos.

That would be another caveat.

If you did get bitcoin donations, how exactly are you planning on converting them to dollars and sending the funds from Peru to the US? And yes, I do have your vitals.

You got me....

I was going to convert the bitcoins to paypal, and then send them the money, and he would post the transaction on their facebook wall, like i said i didnt get in contact with the guy he seems to be overloaded with tasks.

Anyways the event is tomorrow , i wish i saw this earlier to get things set straight.

Its sad to see the negative mindset of people in this community, very destructive slandering techniques as well.

It has nothing to do with negative mindsets, and all to do with your approach. In fact, if I were to try to garner donations the same way as you for the same exact cause, I would end up with exactly the same amount you would have collect--zero.

Now, if you really want to help, try to get some NPO/NGO to embed a Bitcoin donation option onto their website and Bitcoin 100 will send them $1,000 USD worth of bitcoins if they accept.

I am working as the NPO, the only thing i need is for them to post on their facebook page, its a grass routes operation not the red cross. Thats an interesting site there just is not enough time.

There are caveats in place, one of which Bitcoin 100 isn't going to donate to an NPO that only has a Facebook page. They would need to have a website that's not new and have some sort of traffic to their site, with being archived on the Wayback Machine an added plus. Also, can not be religious-based.

Since you're going to play poker, call the poker rooms and get the poker rate. Circus Circus may be one resort(?) to consider. Rivera is located across the street.

Now, if you're going to Nevada just to play poker for a week and want good action and very cheap rooms, consider Laughlin. The poker rate is between $10-$20, whereas the those in the know, like me, would get their rooms fully comped. Primm is another option.

6198  Economy / Services / Re: Feed Some Children by Dabs (Donate Bitcoins) 114 meals so far! on: October 10, 2013, 03:07:04 PM
Update: I just tried to purchase 4 bags of VitaMeal today. The branch where I went to is out of stock due to all the recent natural calamities, and people buying lots of bags to use for their own feeding projects.

I am left with two options:
1. Wait until there is stock of the bags this November.
2. Buy and mark for donation the bags which will go from the factory straight to the charity, and I get a nice thank you letter mailed to my house from the org.

I am asking my two largest donators (Phinnaeus Gage  and lassdas) what you think I should do. I have already converted the bitcoins to fiat at a good rate (which can buy 4 bags) and I'm just holding them. The bonus with option #2 is the corporate matching program, they might give an extra bag for doing it through them.

The original plan as stated in the OP is to do #2.

You have my blessing to do what you feel is best. Simply keep us abreast with whatever decision you make.

I see that you are not the faebook group page owner of the event organiser.. please contact the event/facebook page owner and get them to publish a bitcoin address. that way we can see that it is official and not just a back hander/personal gain attempt.

the idea of bitcoin donations is to give them out to ORGANISATIONS, and get them to promote bitcoin. not give them to established community members to transfer to FIAT to then donate to the organisation.

I know that people on this forum seem to denote some sort of superiority complex when i comes to management skills, so i will layout more details for you.
I have contacted the page owner and he seems to be very busy, because i have not gotten a reply yet, i sent him my info.

As for transfering to FIAT they would need to do that in order to use the money.

Next time i will not follow thru with an idea until i have the board of Bitcoin director approve my plan.

Make that two Board of Bitcoin directors, both of which probably read your entire post history prior to replying.
6200  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FBI has to follow bitcoin rules! How long will that last? on: October 10, 2013, 04:28:45 AM
Nice at least a few more years then.

Are we forgetting about Mt Gox's account that is also locked up by the USG? The more they lock up and would eventually want in their coffer, the longer Bitcoin will stay online.
