just to say i'm available at any time...

by the way, what are we doing with the draft order, random at the start of the draft or something else? Last year it was hashes...

https://100yardrush.com/

^ pretty fun way to do it as well...

Haha, tested it out and Jacobs won! Smiley

I think using hashes is the best way to assure a fair order and its worked fine so far.

If it's Sunday the 3rd I could probably not do it after 3-4 PM EST. On Monday, and any day after that really, I'd be able to do it more or less at any time. I won't be home on Sept. 2-3 that's why it's a bit tricky.

OK, Lets see if anyone has an issue making it DRAFT DAY SEPT 3RD @ 3:00PM EST.

Speak up if this does not work for you,

I'll pm everyone to make sure they get notified.

That shoudl work for me.  It's labor day weekend so we can draft on our phones right?  I don't normally play in the espn games but I'm pretty sure it's mobile ready.  I still have to pay and will get on it tonight.  This is always the hard part, rounding up people who are all open for an hour or 2 to draft.

I bought 100 ARB coins for 0.9$. I hope this will be a good investment in the long run. What about you guys? Did you invest anything for keeping long?

You are doing it smartly.  Historically the best times found to buy crypto is when everyone is mass selling.  Physiologically it's hard to buy something losing value but that's how you catch low prices.  A lot of smart people are buying right now.  That's not to say anything you buy will make you money but that's another story.  The time to buy is definitely now.
883  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to identify shitcoins? on: August 26, 2023, 01:18:50 PM
As an investor, i did a lots of invest in altcoins. Those were suppose to be good that time with having good hype, good team and community. But with having all of thats, most of altcoins scam after a time! I wonder for some altcoins, they were suppose not to be go but they scammed without any reason! And hundreds of altcoins are in my wallet, which are turn into dead shitcoin now.

I mean if it's not bitcoin then boom there you go you just identify it lol.  No seriously I think the easiest coins to stay away from is anything using a other coins name in theor name.  Like bitcoingold, or babydoge, etc.  They are just leveraging a name and are not serious projects to consider.  That's one way

Yeah, at the end of the day it's all about the money.

These leagues make a lot of money by simply having these young players, and in return they basically give them a scholarship.

Seems like a really great deal for the companies running those leagues. It's also a good opportunity for the young players that would have no chance to pay for the expensive university.

I guess that wouldn't work in countries were universities are free or reasonably priced.

So you are saying that the shitty college system in the United States is actually helping it to produce great athletes? I thought about it, and I would agree to it partially. I know that the tuition fee and other expenses in college system is extremely high for the American students, and that is one of the reasons why Bernie Sanders became popular suddenly when he talked about writing off student loans. And education is either free or affordable in most of the European countries (and also in non-European countries such as China). But I do believe that this scholarship system for bright athletes exist in other countries as well.

I don't think so.  These kids basically have to go through college to get to theor end goal of playing in the professional leagues.  Most major sports draft out of college because that's the route that has always been.  Basketball is kind of moving away from that, but it's not a 2 way street.  These colleges have just been making tons of money off these kids and the kids do it because it's "part of the process".

~snip~
I agree. Kissing someone in the lips can't be interpreted as giving appreciation for the good performance. IMO, he just misuses the opportunity for his own benefit. And I am quite surprised with the response from him. Luis Rubiales came out in the open and announced that he has no intention to resign. BTW, now there is another controversy that is coming up. A video recording form the final match has emerged, in which the Spanish coach (Jorge Vilda) is seen grabbing the breast of one of the female non-playing staff. Here are more details on this:

https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/jorge-vilda-spain-grope-controversy-world-cup-b2397704.html

I guess it depends on the culture and the two people involved really.

At the end of the day if he and she are OK with what happened, then nothing should be done really.

I honestly don't see what the big deal is. It's just a kiss while celebrating being the world champions.

Can't believe that the whole championship is being ignored and people are focusing on a one second kiss.

I don't really have an opinion one way or another but I do agree it's ashame that's all anyone is talking about now instead of the tourny victory for the team.  It's taken away something from those women that played theor hearts out.  I think if I was them that's what I'd be pissed about.

What do you think about the Warriors signing Blake Griffin to a 1 year deal at the minimum to make a CP3 lob city reunion? I think it’s a great idea from a business perspective and I also think it’s a great use for your final roster spot. CP3 and Griffin definitely have a chemistry that makes them more dangerous when paired together.

https://clutchpoints.com/nba-rumors-warriors-eyeing-blake-griffin-chris-paul-reunion-to-complete-roster

If they needed a good big men, I doubt that Blake will be a perfect fit for them, I thought that they are supposedly getting their former player Javale MgGee was their target.

But in any case they choose Blake over Griffin, I don't think that Blake can play that lob city, just like when they are in the Clippers uniform. Blake is no longer in his prime to dunk and have highlight reels just like what he did when he was still that high flying player early on his career.

Blake would play max 10 minutes on this squad and be there for a veteran presence.  His days dominating the pain and being agile enough to play down low are over.  Golden state still lives and dies with the splash Brothers.  Everything else is gravy.  Interested to see how the inclusion of cp3 helps with floor spacing for klay.

The time when we aren't in a full raging bull market is always a good time to buy.  You don't want to buy when everything is pumping that's when the bottom falls out.  It's easy mentally to put your money into something that has gained everyday but that's not how you make money.  Buy when others aren't and sell when everyone is buying.
888  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dogecoin Millionaire Remains Optimistic About DOGE Despite Significant Losses on: August 24, 2023, 09:08:35 PM
Investing in cryptocurrencies can be risky, especially in the volatile Market of Dogecoin. One investor, Glauber Contessoto, experienced a significant loss in his Dogecoin holdings, going from almost $3 million to $50,000. Despite this setback, Contessoto remains optimistic about the future of Dogecoin and believes it has staying power.

The rise of Dogecoin in 2021 resulted in early investors becoming millionaires. DOGE’s market cap skyrocketed from $1.2 billion to $75.26 billion in less than five months, reaching an all-time high of $0.74. Glauber Contessoto was one of these overnight millionaires, with his holdings reaching $2.9 million.

However, the value of Dogecoin has since declined, and it is currently Trading at $0.06378. This sizable drop in value has diminished Contessoto’s holdings to approximately $50,000. Despite this loss, Contessoto maintains his trust in Dogecoin and believes that dog-themed meme coins have a better chance of spiking in value compared to other meme coins. He points to the success of frog-themed crypto PEPE as an example.

Contessoto is not the only investor who has experienced a significant decrease in the value of Dogecoin holdings. Keith Johnson, another investor, suffered losses and even filed a $258 billion lawsuit against Elon Musk, known as the “Dogefather” for his support of Dogecoin. Musk’s tweets about the cryptocurrency often result in price spikes.

This guy doesn't know the first thing about trading crypto.  He landed on a lucky run and obviously didn't know how crypto goes, he landed right back where he started.  I wouldn't take anything he says seriously.  He promotes scam coin after scam coin and has probably lost people tons of money.
889  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crawford vs Canelo-Charlo winner (no date yet) on: August 24, 2023, 09:06:46 PM
If it happens two years from now when Canelo is in the twilight of his career then I'll go for Crawford but if this happens in May of next year then no doubt I'll go for Canelo as Crawford is just too small for him, I mean he needs at least 2-3 fight to prove his worth on the 168lbs division. I think he is just calling Canelo as this is a money fight for him of the latter took the bait.

We might want to note that Canelo is younger than Crawford. Canelo is almost 3 years his junior. If this dream fight happens two years from now, Canelo is indeed approaching the twilight of his career. Crawford, on the other hand, is already approaching 40. Age is probably one of the reasons why Spence was running away and delaying his fight against Crawford. That's an off-topic opinion, though.

It would be an amazing moment in boxing's history if this fight takes place, especially if the two remain on a winning streak when the match happens. Crawford will, however, prove his worth in 154 first. If he proves to be effective and natural in this weight, and wins fights, then he could allow his body to continue gaining weight and reach 168. But he shouldn't be confronting Canelo right away. It would be the same process. If he proves that he can handle the weight naturally, without compromising his movements, quick responses, and so on, then he could face Canelo.

As to their physical stats, they're pretty much the same. Crawford has, of course, a longer reach though.

Canelo struggled against Mayweather, who is a good defender and quicker as well. Probably, Crawford sees the weaknesses of Canelo, as although he has power, he can be outboxed, as was evident in the fight against Bivol. The match might be even in the eyes of the fans. Although Crawford is not fighting in his comfortable weight, given his achievements, his undefeated record, and the hype generated when he beat Spence in a one-sided beatdown, all these factors will come into play.

For now, Canelo still has business to take care of. It might be a bit early to discuss, but at least we can have an open discussion about the possibility of this fight happening. I'm sure both camps are eager to make this happen, as it could be the biggest payday for both fighters. Who knows, they might even surpass the PPV revenue generated by Mayweather in his fights.

As fans, it would really satisfy us to see the best fighters in the ring, with no excuses or dodging. They will prove who is the best.

To be fair with Canelo, he as sort of a rookie that time and Mayweather was at his prime that's why Canelo really looks amateurish agains the defensive Floyd that he can't hit him with power punches.

We will see, yes he has Charlo up on his plate, but everyone is giving Charlo a slim chance to beat Canelo Alvarez. And once Alvarez won, we will see if he is willing to fight Crawford or will PBC have him fight another boxer like Benavidez or even Jermall Charlo, the original Charlo that he should have fight.

That wasn't because canelo didn't have enough experience.  Floyd embarrassed everyone.  Hate him or love him he was one of the best boxers of all time.  And don't give me he was a defensive see boxer and was boring at times.  That was by design, boxing is a stretch sport and Floyd used this to his advantage.  Dude always ended the fight without looking like he got touched.
890  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 24, 2023, 09:03:48 PM
They may try load management just like what the Clippers is doing with Kawhi, but again there's no escaping injuries once it hit you.
New Orleans fans are getting restless, he needs to be better this season.
The best thing to do if they want to limit the possibility of Zion getting injured again is to take that load management thing. If the Raptors were successful with the load management they applied to Leonard, I see no reason why the Pelicans wouldn't be able to do the same. The good thing about the Pelicans is that even without Zion, they can still make the playoffs. This is a relief, as they can choose to let Zion focus on the playoffs.

However, fans might not like this load management approach, as they come to see their favorite players on the court. Zion is the team's best player, so it might disappoint some fans. Nevertheless, business is business, and the team needs to focus on what's best for the overall team.

If I'm the one to take it, I will go with load management, but injury is something that uncontrollable, and with the way Zion plays the game, there are always chances that he might get into trouble.

His weight really affecting his movements, with his powerful attempts to make a basket always accompanied by
the chance that he may land wrongly and got injured.

Without him controlling his physical health, he's always prone to injury that may really affect him and the whole
squad.

No doubt new Orleans is going to treat him with care.  Definitely no back to back games, I can see zion playing (if healthy all year) a max of 55-60 games.  You will see injury reports out on him for some mysterious things which is by design, basically load management without passing off the NBA or the fans lol.  They want and need him for the stretch run at the end of the year.
891  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 - Betting and Discussions on: August 24, 2023, 08:59:43 PM
So, World Cup finally begins tomorrow! I'm not that hyped before this year tournament, mainly because my national team - Lithuania don't have big ambitions. It's godd that we have easy start with Egypt and Mexico.
Main game tomorrow is Canada - France. My money is on France. IMO, Canada get hyped too much like before every tournament and they haven't achieved anything.
Australia - Finland sounds interesting. I expect close game and Finlands is capable to make an upset.
Italy - Angola and Dominican Republic - Philippines doesn't sounds very exciting, but I will take a look into it just because it's interesting how basketball looks played in huge arena with 55 00 capacity.

I tend to agree with you on the france game.  Canada is gonna be tough but that is one of the better games to watch.  In terms of Australia and Finland someone said the same thing yesterday I just don't see it.  Australia is a lot stronger team by far.  What makes everyone think Finland can win here?  Something I'm missing?
892  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 - Betting and Discussions on: August 23, 2023, 09:54:45 PM
unfortunately, there's no live streaming available for this game. It appears to be a closed-door game once again.
Was it for most of the teams that are having tune up games that there's no way to watch a stream? I think there's a definite reason why they're keeping it closed doors so that these practice or tune up games are well protected and kept private in preparation for their actual games soon.

These teams are trying to figure out their playing styles, team chemistry and looking for their bad habits. So they are not exposing their games to the public. Otherwise, the rest of the teams especially their team group mates will have their own staff assessing it and will identify their strengths and weaknesses.

Anyways, just two more days before the official start. I'm looking forward to the opening game between betting favorites Australia against Finland. Looking forward to Lauri Markkanen and his gang pulling an upset against the Aussies who will compete with a lot of NBA players.

Finland is a huge underdog with odds of 5.25 and an Asian Handicap of +9.5. Taking the moneyline odds is quite attractive if you truly believe that an upset could happen here. Although Australia boasts many NBA players, this is a world cup, and every game matters. Chemistry will play a significant role in this match.

Personally, I would consider betting live, as I have a feeling that Finland might be competitive in the early quarters but could falter in the second half. So, I'm considering either -5.5 or the moneyline if the odds are favorable for Australia.

https://basketballsphere.com/en/finland-vs-australia-analysis-and-prediction-aug-25-2023/

By the way, @AHOYBRAUSE and btc_angela, nice conversation you have there. It clearly shows that you really know about the history of basketball in your country.

Australia has a real good team.  Understand those odds are really nice but they exist for a reason.  If anything a first half bet might be the play there but even that is even odds so betting on Findlay is dicey.  I have Australia as one of my underdog picks to place (1st-3rd)  I do like betting underdogs in this tourny though, they hit sometimes where as league play major underdogs rarely ever pay off.  Good luck to you if you do lay on the game.
893  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crawford vs Canelo-Charlo winner (no date yet) on: August 23, 2023, 09:45:26 PM
Click bait no way he jumps up that high quickly.  Bud would need to get acclimated in that weight class before he starts taking on the top dogs there.  I love buds game and lay in on him almost every fight but I wouldn't bet on him to win that one.  Think this is for publicity.
894  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 23, 2023, 09:39:47 PM
^ I have my doubts that Zion will ever be able to play a full 82 game season. He’s just too big to be a professional basketball player. The speed and strength of this guy almost ensures an injury. Healthy, he’s the most dominant player the NBA has seen since Shaq, and more athletic than a young LeBron. If they did figure out how to keep him healthy for the rest of his career, he would no doubt be one of the best to ever do it.

Agreed, his body build isn't meant for the way he plays the game.  He is a slasher with high impact dunking.  The rigors of the entire nba season will always hinder his ability to play consistently.  Shame because when he does play he is amazing to watch.  Loved watching him play at Duke when rj was all the rage theor freshman season.
895  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Irresponsible behavior at the Las Vegas Casino on: August 22, 2023, 08:58:26 PM
I mean this happens not only at casinos but everywhere.  Especially in Vegas, there's a lot of extracurricular activities that take place to induce someone to do this.  In Vegas this probably wasn't even a big shock.  This happens at sporting events all the time.  Dumb people do dumb things has nothing to do with gambling.
896  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What features are now expected from cryptocurrencies? on: August 22, 2023, 08:52:45 PM
There are a lot of cryptocurrencies on the market right now, from those that focus on privacy to those that focus on development.
What other features or technologies are out there that people are hoping to get?

Honestly if it's something that already exists chances are that coin isn't needed and will show with buy volume and market cap.  I think what's needed is fresh new ideas that actually solve some sort of problem, last thing we need is more clone coins or tokens that do exactly what some other coin already does.
897  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do star players affect the odds of a match bet? on: August 22, 2023, 08:50:35 PM
I would say that a star players involvement might not greatly affect some games but others it would affect it wildly.  As an outlier look at MLS league Miami before Messi joined and after.  They were one of the worst teams and then a top team with Messi.  I would definitely think the odds would swing wildly different if he did or did not plan on playing in a game, at least if it was known.
898  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I will pass KYC later is a bad idea on: August 22, 2023, 08:45:32 PM
I don't know where some gamblers are getting their confidence from, do you know that online casinos can keep rejecting your ID after you made some high amount of money? Some people cares about winning first before passing KYC, it's cool you believe that you won't always win but the luck comes when we least expected.

Imagine winning and you find it hard to pass KYC, trapping your money on the casino for like ever.

It's not always the casinos fault, I know some are dubious but the thing is KYC verification is something you should first deal with before making your first deposit.

Online casinos can be frustrating at times, some casino won't accept your submitted document even when you haven't make any deposit on the platform yet, so always confirm your identity first.

Submit your identity and wait for approval, do not be in haste to make deposit first, because the identity you submitted without a green approval from the team can still be rejected, take your time to get the passed approval first before proceeding with gambling.

I don't honestly know why someone would even bet on a site that requires kyc and they know they can't pass it.  As soon as you send your money onto the site it's trapped forever.  The worst part actually is if you win.  Be easy if you lose to just go away but imagine winning huge and then not being able to pull the money off?  That would be a nightmare.
899  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 22, 2023, 08:43:35 PM
So it's a few more days before the 2023 FIBA World Cup starts. At least NBA and basketball fans, in general, can once again watch NBA stars play. There are a lot of NBA stars representing their countries, headed by Dallas Mavericks' Luka Doncic. I haven't seen the odds yet but it's pretty interesting to see if the USA will retrieve the gold after failing to reach the final top 4 in the last FIBA World Cup. France, Australia, and the USA are probably the best picks to win the tournament but I love upsets to make the event more thrilling and exciting.

I am actually excited to watch the US this year.  After watching the Germany game and the desire these kids are playing with its gon a be worth it.  Team has a good look.  Playing hard on defense and dam ANT.  dude is just different.  He is gonna be a beast in the tpurny you can just see it.  And I hate to admit I might be wrong on austin reaves.  Kid has a fearless game and is super smart on the court.  I like the makeup of this team.
900  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Another red day on: August 21, 2023, 09:09:09 PM
Seems like a lot of major coins are down again, XRP, ADA, SOL, TRX, MATIC, LTC DOT, AVAX all of them are quite down today. Anyone knows if there was a specific reason for this drop, or was this just another one of those days. I am not worried by the way and neither should you, crypto prices sometimes falls like this and they just recover after a while and its natural part of the market. There is no UP without Down first and that's what we are seeing right now, we need to see the down like these days in order to appreciate the up when we get it. So do not be worried, its fine, I have no idea what caused it at all, but it will be gone in a week or two for sure.

It's definitely a down market right now.  I consider a great buying opportunity.  Don't think this market is going to progressively get better for awhile.  At least not in 2023.  This is a time when smart people are accumulating.  Remember be greedy when people are fearful and be fearful when others are greedy.  Right now is a buyers market.
