1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Halving Event [2024], Reality! on: April 25, 2024, 03:26:36 PM
The bull run will happen when it wants to but the miners are having a good time post halving as the transaction fees are now insanely high due to the network congestion. The block rewards have come down from BTC6.25 to BTC3.125, but that will not hamper them as the fees are hovering from 120 sat/vB to 800 sat/vB. Imagine someone who wants to transfer $20 worth of Bitcoin, will it be possible to make such a transaction at such high fees?
If TX fees are high, you just have to be patient sometimes.
Today being the 25th day of April, after monitoring the mempool for some days now, I saw transaction fees lower than $10.

so it is possible the fees get normal again and stay that way.
2  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Local Board Moderator; Your honest feedback here. on: April 24, 2024, 07:44:56 AM
As a dedicated member of our community, I decided to become your local board moderator in order to combat spam and scammers and make all topics worth to discuss. With your help and trust, we will have a clean community again. .
Our community is in desperate need of this; spammers are almost taking over, and I know (not think) without a doubt that you are one of those who can fill up the position of moderator and keep spammers away.

You tick all the boxes for me and have all the qualities that a moderator should have.

I am a man of few words, but I highly endorse you taking up that responsibility.

This guy is like prime Suarez in 13/14 Liverpool. Wait until a top club gets a hold of him! No, 115 Charges FC is not a top club.
Even if Palmer moves to a top club under a manager who is not good for him, he will not flourish. Palmer's talent needs to be managed properly for him to hit his real prime.

Tell Real to give us £100m so we can get 20 more Brazilian kids.
20 more Brazilian kids to be running about???

Chelsea need to keep Palmer; he is already the most important player in the team. See how Arsenal disciplined Chelsea (5-0). I did not see Mudryk or even the golden boy, Enzo. Noni Madueke could not do as well for Chelsea as Palmer does for them, although he tried.

Currently, No Palmer! No Chelsea!!
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People have a complete misunderstanding of Bitcoin. on: April 23, 2024, 08:59:53 PM
I don't think it's possible to turn Telegram into a place to carry out Bitcoin transactions unless you have actually found a trusted person that you want to do business with.
The only people you should do transactions with on apps like Telegram should be close contacts like your friends and family.

While we won't get qualities that'd be close to Ronaldo and Messi, we can sleep fine knowing that football would be in good hands with youngsters like this. Yamal probably my favorite from the two abd a pure joy to watch.
Yamal has shown more development than his age; getting a place in Barcelona's first team and in Spain's national team is a testament to this. Among all the young players currently, Yamal will most likely be the biggest under good management.

Besides, I dont agree that we should avoid recommending Bitcointalk altogether.
I didn't say not to recommend bitcointalk entirely, but for us to be cautious about who we refer it to.

Have you ever seen a person with a tattooed inscription/tag on the forehead that says - I'm a scammer, be guided? How's anyone supposed to know?
There is no forehead inscription, but some characters and attributes they may show or display will give them away, and because they may be your friends, you may choose to ignore these red flags.
9  Economy / Economics / Re: Your aging and retirement plan is your responsibility. on: April 21, 2024, 09:00:38 PM
~
Unfortunately, many people do not consider their retirement and do not plan for it because they are sometimes shortsighted or do not even see themselves as people who will live to that extent, maybe based on their line of work or the kinds of risks that they are taking.

Planning for retirement is even more essential for people who are just mere employees working for either the private sector, where there is no pension entitlement, or the government sector. Life after retirement can hit hard when one realizes that they are no longer on payroll and maybe the pension they are receiving is not even sufficient.

If you cannot make plans for your retirement, there are companies that can help with that.
10  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Simple practices to improve trading (2). on: April 21, 2024, 08:37:16 PM
I don't see anything wrong with using a signal group since we all know that 70% crypto trading is based on fundamentals and one would have to be ready to explore it by joining signal group to get quick information about the crypto market. We should be always ready to take trades and also check information about the market since that is the order of the day when it comes to trading.
The simple thing wrong with using signal groups is the dependence you can develop from using them because of how easy they will make the trading process.

We can make money even when we join signal groups that will keep giving us information about the market.
The same information can be gotten yourself if you find out how, and when you find out how, it becomes a lifelong skill because you will always know how to stay informed.
11  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏆 The Emirates FA Cup - Season 2023/2024 on: April 21, 2024, 06:30:41 PM
You know what, whatever outcome came from this, the manager Erik Ten Hag is definitely going to have to answer some tough questions today because I truly don't see him as a Red devil 😈 Manager next season...

ETH must go!!!
You may surprisingly still see him as manager next season; they may just want to give him more time.

Coventry should be proud of themselves; they made history even by just equalizing all three goals against Manchester United. They lack experience in penalty situations for big games, which is why they lost.

We have a Manchester City vs. Manchester United final; we know the winner already.
12  Economy / Economics / Re: Young people are less likely to accept traditional employments in this era! on: April 21, 2024, 05:11:09 PM
So if there is a way to create balance and bring more young people to have interest in the traditional workforce what would you think of? I was thinking that increasing minimum wages and granting more benefits like health, rent to mention a few would help
Making work time flexible will also attract more young people. A reason why young people are looking to freelance more is due to the flexibility in work hours and the value that their work is given, which is reflected in the attractive pay.

The young generation (Gen Z) wants to become rich and wealthy, so being an employee in a traditional organization will not make them as rich as they wanted.
The reason they know this is because they have seen the result and outcome from the years their parents have put in and still are not financially stable from being employees in the traditional system. They do not want to end up like their parents, who are not happy at work and do not still earn well.
13  Economy / Economics / Re: It's better to invest now than to regret it in a hospital bed. on: April 21, 2024, 03:29:31 PM

Congratulations to those who have already planned to invest and those who have Bitcoin investments and hope you will hold your investment for long time but to those who are still planning to invest, I would advise you to invest in Bitcoin even if you think about your future.
Bitcoin creates an opportunity for everyone to invest in it, but as an investor in the long run, you also need to be able to consider other forms of investment after your investment in bitcoins has matured enough for you to diversify. You can invest in knowledge to try to learn other ways to benefit from bitcoin, like trading and mining, etc.

The higher your knowledge, the better your investments and the better your opportunities. An individual who dedicates their life to investment will enjoy relaxation and enjoyment in old age.
14  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Understanding the Impact of Social Media in Gambling. on: April 21, 2024, 02:04:20 PM
I could be wrong but this has a mental effect on them and at a very young age, they are exposed to gambling already which is supposedly not the right time.
The truth is that no matter how hard you try to keep children away from the knowledge of what gambling is, you may never be able to achieve it because promotions and advertisements about gambling are everywhere on TV, on halftime shows of favorite sports, on roadside banners, pop-up banners on the internet, and even between discussions.

To protect your children, you have to expose them to these potential dangers and make them understand why they need to gamble responsibly at the right time when they can comfortably accommodate it. If a child understands the dangers of gambling from a very little age that child can be sure to avoid ending up as an addict because he has had proper orientation.

IMO you need Chelsea players in GW36,
Among all the choices to pick from in Chelsea, there are a few reliable options, and Nicholas Jackson is not one of them IMO.

Who saw Manchester City against Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-finals? Jackson missed too many chances to score and help Chelsea get to the finals, at least giving them a chance to win something this season. He wasted everything and did not look remorseful; he is a very unreliable player.
16  Other / Meta / Introducing scammers to the forum. on: April 20, 2024, 11:07:12 PM
I have been thinking about how I've been reading a lot of topics from scammers who give themselves away easily by saying they recover bitcoins and I've been wondering how are these scammers finding about Bitcointalk when some regular people have not yet discovered this forum on their own.

I know some scammers are intelligent people who read a lot and can discover this forum from their research while trying to gather information, but it is possible that some of the people we are referring to the forum are scammers, and we now also have to be careful of the people we refer to Bitcointalk.

Avoid referring the forum to friends and even family who we know have tendencies to become scammers, have affiliations with any known scammer, etc.
17  Other / Meta / Re: Why is merit not common on trading discussion board on: April 20, 2024, 10:47:07 PM
The rest are just random gamblers who hide their identity as somewhat traders.
The real traders who have knowledge of trading, and others who have some knowledge of trading are familiar with some basic terms and abbreviations in trading and will often use them in the trading section where they belong in their posts. When these people make a post or reply that is reasonable, it is hard for the topic to be ignored by merit sources on that board and others who have merits to give.

Merit is not common in the trading section because some of the posts there are not merit-worthy in the eyes of the merit sources there as they are made by people who have no trading experience.
18  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [1 to 3 days] a long running game good or bad? on: April 20, 2024, 10:31:53 PM
I can’t say which is better, I just think it is a matter of personal preference. Some people like bets that run for a couple of days.
Exactly, they are both good@OP, it is based on preference.

On altcointalks, in response to this same topic, I said that "there are gamblers who are very patient, and are willing to wait for days and even weeks for games that they are sure of to play. They are not desperate to win because they are not dependent on the money from gambling to survive. Gamblers who play long running games may feel like they are better gamblers, but I don't agree because I believe it goes down to preferences and our nature, whether we are patient or not. Impatient gamblers can also be good gamblers because they know their nature and gamble accordingly".
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you increasing your bitcoin investments because of today halving ? on: April 20, 2024, 10:20:16 PM
Are you increasing your bitcoin investments because of today halving ? For how long do you plan to hold this new investment from here on.
Just like I replied to another topic, if you plan to hodl this investment from now until the next halving which will happen in four years, it is also not a bad plan. Starting now with this investment to accumulate more bitcoins will mean that in the next halving you will be among the major investors who benefit from it too.

Deciding to reduce your investment or stop hodling because this Halving is past will be a very bad choice that you can regret later. No matter the value that this halving will take the value of bitcoins to, there will still be room for profit making.
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's Next for Bitcoin Enthusiast on: April 20, 2024, 10:10:28 PM
Now that the event has technically come and gone, what is the next big thing that we should look forward to? What are the next collective goals or tasks ahead of us to stay motivated?
We look to the next Halving in 2028, and start planning for it by accumulating and hodling more bitcoins from now on. Early preparation is key.
