1505  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Impossible to trade this, INSANITY! on: April 10, 2013, 06:26:40 PM
pretty much does this every week, not difficult to predict the top and put in buy orders, or just hold, no use trying to trade but why would you when other exchanges have no lag for one third the cost?

they don't have the volume at the moment. their prices have begun to fall as well
1506  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do I get my bitcoins out? on: April 10, 2013, 06:18:03 PM

1507  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Impossible to trade this, INSANITY! on: April 10, 2013, 06:05:31 PM
i'm actually surprised noone has woken mr gox up and told him to take care of things. does he not care?
1508  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Impossible to trade this, INSANITY! on: April 10, 2013, 05:42:35 PM
mtgox should suspend operations. this is NOT GOOD

And then what will happen when they announce they're resuming operations at 2:00 EDT?

A thousand people will place panic orders at the same time and there will be a bunch of lag.

people will not be panicked because they will know that the order they will place will not take 25 mins to be executed at "market price".
someone should call mr gox and wake his ass up
1509  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Impossible to trade this, INSANITY! on: April 10, 2013, 05:20:14 PM
mtgox should suspend operations. this is NOT GOOD
1510  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Impossible to trade this, INSANITY! on: April 10, 2013, 04:57:49 PM
not panic. it's pretty bad this continues to happen. i'm sure a lot of orders are being executed when people don't want them to

it's causing some kind of dip already. intentional or not it still is not good

1515  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Foundations conflict of interest on: April 09, 2013, 01:09:22 AM

although i STILL have no idea what ripples are
1516  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / would this work to keep online accounts from being hacked on: April 08, 2013, 12:24:34 AM
has this been tried.
keep in mind i am not a technical person at all.
also, i'm just guessing and not sure if it has been discussed before.
would it be possible for an "online" wallet to do this

when you create an account-
it will give you a full key (public and private)

you must write down the last 4 of your public key and the last 4 of your private key.
a lot like the modern day pin
then the site DELETES (using industry standards) the last 4 of those account numbers
then when you login in order to send anything you would need to input the 4/4 digits that the site will add
and use to authenticate. that way there will never be a brute force way of sending out any bitcoins unless one knows the digits to the addresses.

does that even make sense
1517  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Charitable Bitcoin Service Question on: April 08, 2013, 12:06:04 AM
not likely. would be the same as any other company doing the same thing out there in the real world..
1518  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Quit your cryptocrastinating and get on board already! on: April 07, 2013, 06:03:10 PM
i think all the fund manageres who are being dismissive are just pissed off that they didn't see it coming and their investors are pissed off that they are n't as bright as they claim to be. so of course they will be dismissive and say the price is too high.
of course if they were smart-er they would have invested and their investors would be happy and they would talk praise.
all it is is jealously and being dismissive due to having lack of foresight.
yes, i'll say it.. most the money managers aren't the brightest people. they just get lucky to play with other people's money.
i wouldn't hire any of those "analysts" who scream it's a bubble without any actual understanding.
1519  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [BTE] 1bte givaway, post your addresses gents on: April 07, 2013, 04:19:58 AM
won't people start to confuse all the different "wallet" addresses. if they are sending to a BTC, BTE or some other form . this will have too many people get confused later. it will be bad

They all start with a different number or letter.  Bitcoin uses 1, Bytecoin uses 8, and Litecoin uses L, for example.

o, didnt know. thanks.
1520  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 51% attack against Bytecoin imminent? on: April 07, 2013, 02:11:04 AM
Bytecoin is ridiculous.  We all know it, some people are just mining it on the off chance that people's IQ's suddenly drop sharply and this thing takes off.

To be honest I'm a little embarrassed that it's been allowed to carry on as long as it has.  This community should be smarter than that.

when transaction fees begin to become a problem for people they are going to look for an alt chains to use to avoid those fees. Since bitcoin1 worked so well why not a bitcoin2? its familiar, its tried and tested, we know it works we know its reliable we know it has the full weight of the bitcoin development team behind it.

Dont get me wrong im all for innovation, but only legitimate innovation, not changing a few properties just for the sake of it, just so you can say that your altcoin is different. Thats the sort of "innovation" we see in all altcoins (that or they are broken like ppc). If that is the sort of innovation we are being offered than i say no thanks, ill stick with good old bitcoin and since good old bitcoin is going to run out of room eventually, ill move on to good old bitcoin2. Of course that is subject to change if someone does happen to create a cryptocurrency that is legitimately innovative, and a bet on bitcoin2 is a bet on the chance that this doesnt happen, how ever likely that may or may not be.

for someone who has over 600+ posts i would assume you are much smarter than this. i also assume since it doesn't cost much to get in you are gambling on the .0000001% chance that it'll pay off.
