1221  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-05-23 RT Prime Interest: Next Generation Bitcoins with Ripple on: May 23, 2013, 03:53:49 PM
ripple is the next gen bitcoin? do people who write or speak understand the subject matter?
1222  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: US Begins Regulating BitCoin on: May 22, 2013, 05:11:57 PM
These guidelines have nothing to do with Bitcoin.  Bitcoin is not mentioned once.  Bitcoin is neither "convertible" nor "virtual", nor does it "substitute for" "real" currencies.

Actually you are quite mistaken about this.  Bitcoin is CLEARLY a "value transfer system" which is HEAVILY regulated around the world.

My prediction:

1) mt gox gets shut down
2) btc_e gets shut down
3) bitstamp gets shut down
4) fastcash4bitcoins.com gets shut down
5) coingator.com gets shut down

Unless these exchanges (and all others) immediately cease and desist dealing with Americans I predict they get shut down in the next six months.

People may end up in prison over this issue.  Even filing now as an MSB is too late.  These sites have ALL broken criminal laws within the USA.

And "mark my words".

there is a world outside of the USA. and that world has their own laws and rules. americans can travel to those countries and do legal things there (as long as they don't break the rules of their own country) so no offence, what you are saying is just bullshit

1227  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Bundle: Feedback for Bitcoiners on: May 21, 2013, 02:20:10 PM
I assumed that gamers were smarter than that, they come off as sounding unintelligent as if they spend all day playing gamesor are 13. Seriously? It's embarrasing in a way. I think the issue is that most of those gameshave been in bundles already. Want to put on slickdeals?
1228  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammer: Inaba on: May 20, 2013, 04:30:38 AM

1229  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: PSA: 'Bitcoins' in Ripple are not Bitcoins. They are not real, can be seized. on: May 20, 2013, 01:54:45 AM
tradefortres, to be fair the community should wait for the source code to be released and then fully judge it.
it does sound like it has several pitfalls at the moment.
trading xrps (as in buying them) should probably be avoided unless you want to do high stakes gambling.
1230  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Selling XRP for BTC/Cash near Ripple booth at the Conference! Rate is 60 XRP/USD on: May 19, 2013, 01:49:53 AM
Sold $6000 (360,000 xrp) and $20 (1200 xrp)

whoever bought 360,000 xrp is going to lose $5000 if he doesn't sell quick
1231  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Theft, fraud, extortion, frivolous litigation, lies, slander and Tihan Seale on: May 18, 2013, 06:54:52 PM

1232  Economy / Speculation / Re: DHS seizure of Mt Gox Dwolla Account. Speculating a Probable Cause. on: May 18, 2013, 05:21:06 PM
Only small time buyers use Dwolla as the maximum transfer limit is $5000.

The US Government seized all the money and decided to keep it as they are fully entitled to do under their own laws.

Apparently they did this to protect the American people.

Do you feel more or less protected when your money is sezied by your goernment ?

What I'd like to know is, who absorbed the cost of this ? Did any individual customers lose money or was the cost of this
absorbed by MtGox / Dwolla ?

entitled to is subjective. if mtgox didn't commit any crimes the money should be returned with interest (as if the gov would ever pay interest on their messups)
1233  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Selling XRP for BTC/Cash near Ripple booth at the Conference! Rate is 60 XRP/USD on: May 18, 2013, 05:16:55 PM

1236  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-05-17 EFF Resumes accepting BitCoin on: May 17, 2013, 10:54:01 PM

1237  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Time to adjust difficulty on: May 17, 2013, 10:43:32 PM
I think difficulty of Bitcoin goes very high. Mining is not profitable now. Without miners coin will be dead.

Do you think it's the time to adjust difficulty?

Share your opinion.......

no, you are thinking wrong
if you are only planning on mining and selling right away to a fiat currency you may be correct
however, you fail to take into account the rise in real value of a bitcoin in the future as well as ignoring the exchange rates
the only time you would ever stop mining is if it's cheaper to just buy it from someone else at current value
